I used Espeon with Magic Bounce to use the Ribombee's Sticky Web in my favour. Xatu can have the ability too.

You did get lucky, but not nearly as lucky as you would have had to be in the main series games haha. Not sure what the exact shiny rate is though. Enjoy your playthrough!
