  1. At the end of Resident Evil 4, compared to "It", Krauser, and many others, Osmund Saddler is an easy boss.

But I don't find it an anticlimactic fight: I find it representative of Saddler as a character: in the end, to get to where he was, he had to manipulate people. He manipulated the village people and their leader, he manipulated Salazar by using his sense of guilt against him, and he manipulated Luis Sera into researching for him.

But at the end, when he faces Leon and Ada for the last time, there is no one left to manipulate: The Ganados are few in number, Ashley and Leon are no longer Las Plagas hosts (Thanks to Sera coming to his senses), and all of Saddler's subordinates are dead. And without the power of those he manipulated, he was considerably weaker.

I bet Krauser could have taken down Saddler easily... If he wasn't so busy fighting off Leon and Ada.

In a sense, if it weren't for Sera, Krauser losing to Leon would have worked in Saddler's favor, since he'd have two more people to manipulate.

  2. You could put Leon and Chris together and they still wouldn't realistically beat Albert Wesker in a fight.

Chris and Sheva only survived because Chris is a main character.

  3. I don't even really like Final Fantasy XV that much.

The Combat isn't interesting enough to keep me through a lackluster story.

Even if Metal Gear Solid V: The Phantom pain had mediocre boss fights, lackluster Story or an open world that's honestly not very necessary, the Combat in that game is so well built and well developed that I can still have Fun with the game and not care about the aforementioned flaws.

I don't think Final Fantasy XV does that very well. This is one of those times where I think, "Why can't they just make it turn based?"

  4. So, The Land of Tea arc in the first Naruto Anime... It's a filler arc, but it's decent.

But Why the hell are Naruto, Sasuke, and Sakura trying to swim to shore? Can't they walk on Water at this point in the anime?

  5. Or Alternatively, Why you don't just go around handing A-Ranked Jutsu to Genin level Ninja. It doesn't matter if they are better than the other Genin, or have powerful Eyes or Demon Foxes sealed inside them.

They are still just 13-year-olds, and they are bound to be extremely competitive.

  6. So, I got called in for Jury duty.

Apparently, Its a lot of... Waiting.

I might not even make it onto a Jury. But Its a day wasted, for me. I could spend this time on RPGMaker and learn how to make a game.

I've yet to be called for jury duty. My sister did though and she's younger than me.

And... It's over. Apparently, only one court case was scheduled for today. They selected 12, and the rest of us were free to go on with our lives.

So, Pheonix Wright for Smash Bros. When?

  7. Also, Interceptor... Is that a reference to Final Fantasy VI? I think Interceptor was the name of Shadow’s dog.
  8. Just asking for an official confirmation. Pretty much guessed at it when I first played the game. Darn it, now I actually want to make a Fangame and name my main protagonist Raiden.
  9. Falco Lombardi is my favorite Pokémon. Also, Is Jan a fan of the Xeno franchise? Or more specifically, Xenoblade? You literally named one of the main characters in your game Melia. It’s like if I made a fan game and named one of the main characters Raiden, made him an albino, and gave him a mentor figure named Iroquois Pliskin. Not very subtle, is it?
  10. If you think Xenoblade 1's story was predictable, then you really aren't gonna like Xenoblade 2. It starts out extremely slow, and the combat isn't really fun until you've gotten through the first two chapters. I found it enjoyable, but still... I have to question your placing of II as the best of the NES trilogy. I really couldn't get into the NES trilogy, because the combat felt too slow. But I do respect that It kicked off the franchise and how revolutionary they were for the time. Except for Final Fantasy II. Not only do I think Final Fantasy II is the worst of the NES Trilogy, I think that It isn't a good game. The Dungeon design is absolutely horrific (especially the Trap rooms), the Combat is built on good Ideas, but poor execution. The Soundtrack is not very good, with some exceptions. I respect it for establishing a bunch of staples for the franchise, but as a game, it's terrible. Final Fantasy I and III at least had better design choices.... for the most part. I also have to question putting VI so low. Among many Final Fantasy fans, It's considered the best in the franchise. I myself consider it second best, after VII.
  11. Oh, and I forgot the entire Xeno series. Xenogears is a decent game with a rushed second part. This one stars Fei. At its release, It was overshadowed by Final Fantasy VII, But I still think it’s worth playing. Xenosaga has a Trilogy, starring Shion and KOS MOS. Xenoblade Chronicles is the most well known series. The first one Stars Shulk, And it’s the best game in the franchise, even above Xenosaga. The Second one Stars Rex, And while I don’t like it as Much as the first, It’s still amazing. And the spin off stars a guy named Cross... I have mixed feelings about Xenoblade Chronicles X. Also, Final Fantasy 8. It is absolutely not a bad game.
  12. Danganronpa: Trigger Happy Havoc. First one was the best. Perfect Atmosphere, perfect setting, et cetera. Also, People actually died in that one. Not that "It was all a simulation" stuff, which to be fair, worked in MGS2 ("Only because all of the events were real. The President really did die. Solid Snake really did nearly die in the Tanker Incident, only to resurface during Big Shell. Solidus Snake really did die. Emma Emmerich is really dead.")
  13. Does the Player Character count? I always name mine "Raiden".
  14. If a game is rated E, E10+, T, or M, then it’s probably a decent game.

But if it’s rated eC or AO, there is a 95% chance the game is terrible. eC games have to focus on being “educational” instead of being fun, even when it’s possible to do both.

AO games are banned by Microsoft, Sony, and Nintendo. The few AO rated games in existence are poor, with some exceptions, like the original GTA: San Andreas And Manhunt 2. Most AO games are pornographic.

  15. Scorbunny, But all of the designs seem... Bland.
  16. Once upon a time, Spike Chunsoft made Shiren the Wanderer. I haven't played it, so I can't judge. Then they made a few Chocobo's Dungeon games, based on the bird from Final Fantasy, and they were great. Then they made 4 Pokemon Games, and 3 of them were Amazing. The Second one especially. (The Dimensional Scream is such a Xenoblade-esque concept, though.) Who says they can't make Nopon Mystery dungeon good?
  17. Keep everything secret. Ignore all the leaks. Let everyone Speculate. And get Angry when something doesn’t go the way they wanted. (Insert Grinch Leak flashbacks here) I’d say to just show off the Starters and some of the features and leave it at that. People will want to know the Pokémon they start off with.
  18. Let’s hope the final evolution Fire starter (Scorbunny) doesn’t turn out to be another atrociousity. Like Emboar before it. And Incineroar, most notably.
  19. The Dimensional Scream is the most Xenoblade-esque thing to ever make it into an official Pokémon Game.

  20.

Honestly, The Naruto Ultimate Ninja Storm games tell the Story a lot better than the Anime.

It's really the Pinnacle of single-player in the genre.

Wish Most Shonen Fighters got that treatment.

The Storm series is good, Budokai Tenkaichi is good, but a lot of Shonen Fighters suck.

  21. I want them to at least try to attempt being story based. If it turns out Lackluster, that’s fine. Like I’ve said, Final Fantasy II was when Final Fantasy started becoming about story. But it wasn’t until VI that the Stories actually became good.
  22. You just write the code to loop through all the files in certain folders, right? Set them to this file?
  23. I don't think Metal Gear had many true villains. Save for Volgin, Skullface, Huey, and Sundowner.

Revolver Ocelot just did everything because he loved Big Boss. Liquid just wanted to overcome an Inferiority Complex.

Even the Patriots had a grand view of the world they wanted to create. It was a dull world, but you can see where they are coming from.

  24. I don't think Malos was the true villain of Xenoblade Chronicles 2.

    Spoiler

I think it was Amalthus. Malos was just another victim.

In Battle, Tora is the one taking all the hits and all the Aggro. Poppi is just supporting him with blade arts and a weapon.

How is he not protecting Poppi?

    3. Youmu9

      Youmu9

Tora is an evil monster. His only redeeming quality was bringing Poppi into this world and even that's a bad thing since she was enslaved by that fluffy ball of terror. Worst character. Hate is too weak a word for the likes of him. 🤬

I don't know, I actually really love the character. He's just so damn endearing. I can't hate him. I found that scene, where he reunites with his dad extremely emotional. And he does have a lot of quotable lines. Especially "MuiMui not very interesting, so Tora forgot he exist." That line was savage.

If you want to hate any Nopon, hate Tatsu. He's genuinely annoying. The Food Jokes, while funny at first, really stop being funny as XCX goes on.

  25. I hope Pokemon Sword and Shield goes with a more story-focused approach.

It may come out lackluster. This is okay: Final Fantasy II started the whole Story based thing with Final Fantasy, but it wasn't until 6 that the Story turned out good. Sun and Moon dipped its toe into this just like Final Fantasy II. This will most likely reach the Final Fantasy III or IV stage.

(Final Fantasy II wasn't a good game, but I can appreciate it for making the Final Fantasies more story based. But I hope that Pokemon Sword and Shield aren't overly Linear, like Sun and Moon were. As well as being a decent game in general, something Final Fantasy II wasn't.)

the alola games tried doing that, and one of the biggest complaints about alola was that cutscenes took up too much time. I liked the extra plot, but I suppose it can also be unappealing if you play the game for the bazillionth time.

    3. doombotmecha

      doombotmecha

It's possible that there was a more efficient way to express that information, or maybe we just need a cutscene skip button. I think that swsh will surpass SuMo in storytelling.

@Christopher Robin As a Huge fan of Xenoblade Chronicles and Metal Gear Solid, Long cutscenes aren't really a bother for me. Even if Metal Gear Solid 4 went a bit overboard with it.
