  1. You mean that guy who's theme music is ripped straight from Final Fantasy VII's OST "Who are You"? That's really all I know of Undertale. Erin looks amazing. If I took Waifus she might have been a candidate. Speaking of Final Fantasy VII, give her the J-E-N-O-V-A boss theme. It just fits, somehow. I mean, Desolation uses it for every single Crescent Grunt. Surely it can be used in this game as an actual Boss theme?
  2. You know, I've been making Final Fantasy VII comparisons last hype thread with the whole "Jump off a train and Blow up a factory at the beginning", Lin being Sephiroth, etc. This last version kinda supported that and subverted it. You end up being controlled and puppeted around. But It isn't due to your personal connection to Sephiroth (Or in this case Lin) due to JENOVA cells. It's just you being hypnotized.
  3. Honestly, I feel that this game gets overlooked. People care more about Solid and Rising then they do this old Classic. In terms of Storytelling, this game was far ahead of it's time. It was doing the whole "deep storyline" thing one year before Final Fantasy IV. It was honestly the true start of the wacky franchise that is Metal Gear. It's a shame that It's such an overlooked game. I wish more people knew about this one. I bet nobody knew who Dr. Madnar was when Raiden mentioned him in MGS4, unless they've played this game.
  4. Did you just spell it "Raider" to piss me off? Or is that a genuine spelling mistake? I know to keep my expectations in check. I knew that Raiden, Sephiroth, Dante, and Sora are not likely choices. I just thought that Raiden and Sephiroth were appropriate choices: Raiden is Solid Snake's Protege, and Sephiroth can be considered Cloud's Archenemy. Both characters are unlikely, but realistic, all things considered. I know Incineroar actually makes more sense, I just really hate Incineroar's design. The very prospect of it making Smash Bros makes me feel sick to my stomach. As a result, I now hate Incineroar far more than Masahiro Sakurai hates Jigglypuff. No Hype trailer is going to change that. Isaac, I never really cared about. And Decidueye at least looks cool. I don't think it's fair to group him with other Archers. Pit and Link aren't just archers, they are versatile fighters: Pit uses his bow as Blades, and has reflectors and things that separate him from being "Just an Archer". Link uses a bow, but He still has an bombs, boomerangs, and a Sword and shield, so he isn't "Just an archer". Who say's Decidueye can't have things to separate him from being "Just an archer?" I think you are kinda being unfair to Decidueye. Also, Don't we already have a Dark type Pokemon in Smash? I honestly would rather have one of the Fire/Fighting types. Incineroar isn't a Fire/Fighting type, but with that design, It might as well be.
  5. Chocobo Mystery Dungeon looks good. I never managed to get a copy, but it got my interest thanks to the Pokemon Mystery Dungeon games and my Final Fantasy Fanboyism. But it won'd make up for the lack of Tactics.
  6. I can't say I'm hyped. I never cared about Isabelle. I didn't really care about Ridley or K. Rool either, but now I'm Hyped for those two because they had awesome trailers. Isabelle's trailer matched the theme of the game she came from, but It didn't really hype me up. So, I continue to not care about Isabelle. I am glad that Incineroar isn't in (yet). I hate Incineroar Far more than Amethyst hates Budew, and my hatred grew to be this extreme when it was even suggested that Incineroar had a shot at being in Smash Bros over Decidueye. No Raiden to stand beside Snake, no Sephiroth to fight Cloud, no Dante to fight Bayonetta, and no Sora to stand beside Cloud. These were my top 4 most wanted fighters. I never expected any of them to get in, but I still had a tiny sliver of hope. So, I was still slightly disappointed that none of them got in. The only other interesting part about the direct for me was all the Playable Final Fantasy games. But they forgot about IV, V, VI, VIII, and Tactics. I'm willing to bet the only reason Final Fantasy VII wasn't forgotten was the fact that It's the most well known Final Fantasy among gamers. No Fire Emblem or Metroid Prime 4. Disappointing. I didn't like this direct. But If you enjoyed it, I have nothing against you.
  7. Honestly for me, this Recent Nintendo Direct was pretty boring.

I didn't care about Isabelle, no news about Metroid Prime 4 or Fire Emblem, and they had to show me the embarrassment that is Pokemon Let's Go. And that Switch Online deal still sucks.

The only thing I really cared about was being able to play Final Fantasy VII, IX, X, XII, XV Pocket Edition and Chocobo Mystery Dungeon on my Switch. And What the hell happened to VIII, VI, V, IV and Tactics?

I guess there is plenty of stuff for fans of other franchises. I personally don't care about Luigi's mansion 3, but that might be appealing to other people.

All in all, this direct failed to hype me up for anything. It was better at E3 and 8/08/2018.

If you liked this direct, then fine. I guess you liked something that was showcased. Just understand why I was disappointed.

    1. Wolfox

      Wolfox

tbh, I would not be mad if they don;t showcase anything about MP4. A great part of Metroid is discovering everything yourself, so only showing the title, the release date and stuff might be benifitial in that regard.

  8. Sorry if this offends, It really shouldn't, but...

It's the good old days, boys.

My uncle was actually visiting one of the twin towers the day before the attack. My cousin was with him. He was only 2. That was close.

Did you know that Metal Gear Solid 2 had a sequence involving arsenal gear crashing into the statue of liberty and destroying manhattan? It had to be cut because of the terrorist attacks. So, I think it's fitting that Metal Gear Rising had this quote years later.

  9. I never really got into NES Final Fantasy.

The SNES and Playstation era Final Fantasies all had active time battle, letting me react and make quick decisions.

But NES Final Fantasies had you choose all of your attacks before they executed. I found that to be too slow paced, and I didn't really enjoy it that much. Plus the whole "If two characters attacked the same foe, and the character that attacked first KO'd, then the second attack will be ineffective" thing really got on my nerves.

I understand that It was supposed to slow you down and make you think, but I just never could get into it.

I just like choosing an attack and seeing my character immediately perform that attack.

Final Fantasy for Android is very desired and thousands of gamers all over the world would be happy to get it without pay anything. Download latest ffbe apk.

  10. Khajiit has wares if you have coin. All Quotes aside, Imperials.
  11. Fair points. Although I hate Corrin as a character, I'll admit that he/she was a unique fighter in Smash Bros. My distaste for him/her mainly stems from my distaste of Fire Emblem Fates. I might be a bit of a greedy wart myself: I don't care for more Fire Emblem characters, or Waluigi, or even K. Rool himself. Despite them only being Third Party guests, I want more Metal Gear and Final Fantasy Reps. Sephiroth, Raiden, Zack Fair, and Squall Leonhart, to be exact.
  12. At 1:12, that's a counter if I've ever seen one. Weren't the DK fans one of the many that were advocating for less Fire Emblem characters in Smash? Well, I guess you either die a hero, or you live long enough to see yourself become a Fire Emblem character. We have over 8 characters with the same gosh darn move. I think that's enough. At least Lucario and Greninja execute their counters in unique ways.
  13. So, I recently got the Sorcerer's class in Octopath Traveler.

    This is how I felt.

(At least until you run out of SP).

  14. So when writing the Plot for my JRPG Extraordinaire, I wanted an overuse of People having their arms cut off in Slow motion.

I therefore decided that there should be a spell that can replace a cut off arm. However, Such a spell is difficult to perform and renders the caster unconscious for hours. This means that the spell is extremely expensive.

I also thought of ways that you can use this to drive the plot along. For example, let’s take my main protagonist: A young Streetrat-turned Mercenary who hates nobility because he thinks of Them as pompous and Corrupt. However, he has discovered he is of noble blood, but doesn’t return to his clan because of his hatred of nobility. While encountering another important character in the Story, he has his arm cut off. Now he has to put aside his pride and go back to his noble clan if he is to get his arm back, as he’d never be able to get the funds on his own.

How else could this plot element be used?

  15. So Nintendo put off the direct because of an Earthquake.

I’ve heard that they are expecting more Earthquakes as powerful as this one. So hurry up and evacuate the places where it is expected to strike.

  16. Ninkender the chicken tender is my favorite anime.

  17. Budew > Incineroar.

Budew is adorable. And the very mention of Budew being in Smash Bros Ultimate doesn’t make me feel sick to my stomach. Incineroar, on the other hand...

  18. So, what do you think of Roserade?

Well, I guess that's one way. Not exactly... Legal. But it works.

  19.

The Guy who made this deserves to be commended. It was awesome seeing these characters in Old Anime form.

Solid Snake, Revolver Ocelot, Gray Fox, Meryl Silverburgh, Johnny Sasaki, Colonel Roy Campbell, Gekko, Big Boss and EVA escaping the Shagohod, that scene on the bridge with Vamp running on Water, and finally, Liquid Snake chasing down Solid Snake and Meryl, before finally dying of Foxdie. I recognize the Hind D as well.

Although I question why Vamp was in it and characters like Raiden and Otacon weren't in it. Seriously, Akiba made it in and those two didn't.

Solid Snake was actually partially inspired by Lupin III. I don't think Lupin III is that recognized in the west, but he's one of Japan's famous Icons.

  20. I can't believe Shrek Super Slam has a legit competitive scene, while SSBB's competitive scene is... dead.

that's mostly because of Elitists. Not naming any names on what the elitists are from because it's mostly Eletists in general

  21. Why are you playing Fates when you could be playing The Tellius games?
  22. When you are little, you don't exactly have much access to a lot of video games. As a result, you tend to appreciate the games you already have. When I was in first grade, all I had was a Gameboy Advance, a Nintendo Wii, a Playstation 2, and a Nintendo DS.

I still have my Nintendo DS collection, and my 3DS is able to play all of those games. My Gameboy Advance is still going strong, but my Nintendo DS broke a long time ago. So, thank god for 3DS Backwards compatibility. Pokemon Mystery Dungeon, Black, SoulSilver, Platinum, Chrono Trigger, Spectrobes: Beyond the Portals, New Super Mario Bros, Final Fantasy IV, The Legend of Zelda: Spirit Tracks were actually all I owned for the Nintendo DS.

My Playstation 2 collection also had only a few games. The First 3 Devil May Cry games, Final Fantasy VII, Metal Gear Solid, Metal Gear Solid 2: Sons of Liberty, Metal Gear Solid 3: Snake eater, Final Fantasy IX, Final Fantasy X, Kingdom Hearts I and II, and a... Bee Movie video game.

One day my dad sold my Playstation 2 and got a non-backwards compatible PS3. This kind of upset me, but in the long run, due to HD releases of those games, and the fact that Final Fantasy IX, VII, and Metal Gear Solid were all actually Playstation 1 games, It wasn't that big a loss. Final Fantasy X was rereleased on PS3 as an HD Remaster, and this time I managed to get my hands on X-2. Metal Gear Solid 2 and 3? HD Collection, which came with the Substance and Subsistence packages, and Peace Walker as a bonus. Devil May Cry's 1-3? Devil May Cry HD collection. Although 2 was nothing special, It was still a childhood favorite. Kingdom Hearts 1 and 2? Actually it was 1.5 and 2.5. The Only game that I never managed to get back was the Bee Movie game, but let's be honest: I never really cared about it in the first place. Who would?

So, with your limited access to video games during childhood, what games did you play?

@Autumn Zephyr By the looks of it, I was extremely lucky.

My parents tend to yell a lot when they are upset, and when I was little, they did it for every single little mistake. As a result... I... Still love my parents, but I just don't like talking to them or being around them anymore. That's why I love my College dormitory: Nobody to yell, I can play to my hearts content, and I'm in charge of my own studies.

My mom ended up asking why I didn't want to converse with her or dad anymore, and I told her I was tired of all the yelling. She actually made it a point to control her temper, and I'm thankful for that, even though the damage is already done, and no amount of Video Games will fix that. Hopefully they don't make the same mistake with my little sister that they did with me.

I really got lucky with my parents, compared to you. My childhood wasn't... great. I was bullied a lot, and Final Fantasy VII's prelude did a better job of comforting me then my own parents. But It really could have been worse. At least I have those Video Games, and those Childhood memories.

I also hated Being blamed for things. But Then I have to remember: Cloud was blamed for putting Tifa in a coma when they were little, which was unfair: Tifa took the Mt. Nibel trip of her own accord, and Cloud simply followed in secret. It was unfair, but Cloud dealt with it. And when I was 10 years old, those game characters were my Idols. I wanted to be Just like Cloud Strife, so I just... dealt with it. Who threw food at another student? I didn't, but I was accused. So I just... dealt with it.

Proof that I need to learn to mince my words, I guess-

      Spoiler

I'm not sure how much of it that you're lucky, and how much of it is that I'm insanely unlucky. Believe me, I've barely scratched the surface on the Azurine Lake expy that is my past and present- heck, the doc I managed to write in secret two and a half years ago explaining my side of the issue (and explain why I hadn't been online for months at that point) for my friends elsewhere on the internet wasn't able to capture the full picture (never mind the fact that it's outdated by now anyway). Truth be told, it's a miracle I've managed to keep quiet about the BS for as long as i did over here.

Ultimately, though, that's part of why this site's been so special for me. Here, when I help people find their way, it isn't as 'that nerd who knows way too much about a game they've never played', but as someone who's struggled, pondered, and puzzle-solved their way through those same problems and willingly shares the wisdom they've gained from doing so. Here, I don't feel as obsolete. Here, I'm not being constantly judged for my inability to hand-clean dishes perfectly, or how little I can lift, or what the likelihood of me already being dead would be if we were living in the 1200's instead of the modern day (I'm still pissed about that one...). Here, I'm not being told that I'm guaranteed to fail at life because I didn't bother changing out of my pajamas on a day where I had no intention of leaving the house anyway (I'm still pissed about that, too).

Here, I'm just Autumn Zephyr, a fella doing their best to give back the joy this place has given me.

2018's been a bit like removing the PULSE Swalot for me. It's not a perfect fix by any means, seeing as the muk's still out there pouring gunk all over the place and charging me goddang rent to stay in this goddamn household, but everyone who's seen the way I was before can already tell that I'm doing much better nowadays.

Aaaand, I've somehow managed to hijack someone else's Status Update. When I should be finishing up an RP Character Sheet. Again. R.I.P.

I don't mind. At least I got my frustrations about family out.

  23. Love Island is the show that finally destroyed my image of British People as Posh, elegant, finely dressed folks.

It's also really damn terrible. I would not rewatch this show if you paid me.

It's just a stereotype that I had in my head since I was little. I know that it isn't exactly true, but sometimes when I hear the word "British People", that's the image that first pops into my head.

Or, it was, until Love Island.

      Sort of, yeah.

      Albeit very exaggerated.

  24.

You know, if I was in Light's shoes, I probably wouldn't have fallen for such an obvious trick.

Even as I watched this scene for the first time, I thought, "Light. That definitely isn't L. Why would he show his face on live television at a time like this?" And then my suspicions were confirmed.

It highlight's one of Light's major character flaws, though: He's extremely overconfident and arrogant. And that's actually what led to his downfall in the end, didn't it? He had too much faith in Mikami and the system he set up, and then Near found him out.

For this reason, this scene was extremely well written, and it's very necessary for Death Note's plot as a whole.

    1. Zander

      Zander

I think it's the best scene in the show because it introduces L's character perfectly and shows how cunning he is and to what extent he would go to.

I fell for the trick too(as I was completely supporting what Light was doing at that time) so maybe I'm arrogant too...

    2. seki108

      seki108

I still can't fully discount Matsuda's theory about Near using the Death Note to set Mikami's actions toward the end.  It seems too big of a flaw for Light to not get Mikami to do a test of the notebook just to be sure everything was going right, though it could fall into the same category as this one (mainly too much arrogance).
