I actually want to create a JRPG featuring a edgelord with Memory problems.
Specifically, a 16 Year old who lives in a kingdom, but is a poor street rat who becomes extremely skilled with a sword and eventually becomes a Mercenary. However, he has no memory of who he was before 8 years of age.
JRPG cliches are totally awesome. Why are the only Ideas I can come up with involve Edgelords with Memory Loss?
But wait, It gets worse. I actually would have had the Street Rat be a mystical chosen one who has to band with a group of other chosen ones in order to save the land or some crap like that. Or, You know, maybe not? Not all JRPG plots have to be driven by some mystical chosen one, and it might be more interesting to have the Street Rat be nothing more than a skilled fighter and thief who has a massive impact on the plot, since it might be more interesting to see a seemingly ordinary person rise up and become one of the most important people in this universe's history.

So, I was thinking, do we really need the Metal Gear movie to be live action?
I thought that It would be more along the lines of Anime, or if they don't do that, why not use Photorealistic CGI, like in Final Fantasy VII: Advent Children.
Then At least I'd find some enjoyment in it if it turned out to be bad, like most Video Game movies turn out.

So, they say they will be having a Nintendo Direct in about 70 minutes.
It's focused mostly on Indie games, but I'm just tuning in because they might reveal a new fighter in Smash Ultimate.
Unless some game catches my interest with good cinematics and an interesting concept. Or an interesting Art Style and animation.

I tried playing Pokemon Mystery Dungeon: Explorers of Sky again.
Does anyone realize that Dusknoir's entire reason for being a villain is ironic? He's a ghost who's afraid of death.
Pretty clever if you ask me.

I've never played a single Tales game, nor have I touched Resident Evil.
What am I missing?

Ye Tales is a solid series, though suffers from varying levels of quality throughout the series lifespan.lt's more of an action RPG with how the combat style works but it honestly feels quite unique and fun. Try one out, you'll probably dig the others enough to play them if you like one of them.
Just avoid Zesty Ranch ~~or Tale of Zestaria~~ it's was honestly jsut so bad l couldn't sotmach more than an hour of it. lt bad.
Resident Evil l can't really speak on as l've not much touched that series but it's sorta all over the place? The first entries are very different from RE4 and onward. Just be aware. ANd then RE7 sort just... goes back to the original style of the games. RE is a... bizarre series.

"I came to get rid of the nightmares I've been having for the past 3 years"
"The Nightmares? They never go away. Once you've been on the battlefield, tasted the exhilaration, the tension... It all becomes part of you. Once you've awakened the warrior within... It never sleeps again. You crave ever bigger tensions, ever bigger thrills. As a mercenary, I think you'd have realized that by now. You care nothing for power, or money, or even Sex. The only thing that Satisfies your cravings... is War. All I've done is give you a place for it. I've given you a reason to live."
"I never would have made you for such a hypocrite..."
"You saw those children, didn't you? Every one is a victim of a war somewhere in the world. And they'll make fine soldiers in the next war. Start a war, fan its flames, create victims... then save them, train them... and feed them back onto the battlefield. It's a perfectly logical system. In this world of ours, conflict never ends. And neither does our purpose... our raison d'etre.
"So there's plenty of Job opportunities... Is that what you're trying to say?"
"On the battlefield, you and I are valuable commodities. But back "home", we're nothing but dead weight. If we're lucky, we might get the attention of some two-bit journalist from a cheap tabloid. You and I are doomed to remain here until we die like dogs on the battlefield."
"I've only got one fight left. To free myself from your grip, to rid myself of these nightmares... I will defeat you!"
"It doesn't matter who wins here. Our fight will continue. The loser will be liberated from the battlefield, and the winner will remain. And the survivor will live out the rest of his days as a soldier."
"It doesn't have to be that way. I'm not like you. I love life!"
"Very well. I'll release you from your suffering. As your former commander, I'll do you one last favor, and put you out of your misery."
"I don't need anymore favors from you!"
"Really? And just how do you expect to beat me in your condition? With no Weapon?"
"Never give up. Fight until the end. Always believe you will succeed, even when the Odds are against you. Those are your words."
"Even I make mistakes from time to time. This will be our Final Battle... Let's end this once and for all!"
This Dialogue is from a video game. Guess which one.
It's surprisingly deep and philosophical for a Video game... I'll leave that as a hint. I purposefully omitted names and places to make this harder to guess.

For people who want Non-Nintendo characters in Smash Bros, I would say that Solid Snake is the most important Smash Bros character ever.
He didn't just prove that you didn't have to be a Nintendo Character to be in Smash Bros. He also proved that even some of the most unpredictable options can be smash bros characters. Even a character that seems out of place, such as a war torn Soldier who specializes in Stealth and Murder.
He may not have been in Smash 4, but He essentially was the one to open the gates for Bayonetta, Cloud, and Ryu.
I was proud to be a Solid Snake Main in Brawl, and I can't wait to main him in Super Smash Bros Ultimate.

I hate Incineroar more than Amethyst hates Budew.
If Incineroar gets into Smash Bros over Decidueye, then I hope he's trash tier and nobody in For Glory uses him.

They are making a sequel to the awful Death Note Netflix movie.
I am actually going to see it. How are they going to ruin the best part of the Anime, when Matsuda goes full rage mode?
They Trashed Soichiro, utterly destroyed Light and L, and I don’t thing the brave band of police officers (Aizawa, Matsuda, Mogi, Ide, Ukita) were even in the movie.
How will they screw up Near, Mello or Mikami?
I can’t wait to find out.
Also, you want to ignore the Anime and just judge the movie as a proper film? Fine. The movie still sucks. The Narrative is dumb and doesn't even make sense at times. The characters are still horrendously written. And the film is terribly shot: It excessively uses pointless Dutch Angles. I don't know much about cinematography, but I do know that a dutch Angle is meant to convey a sense of tension in a film. But when used excessively, It loses it's impact. I know this because another film I watched had the same problem: Battlefield Earth (2000). Looks like Scientologists don't know how to make proper films.

One of the things i never understood i think it was in the movie was when L decided it was a good idea with all his brains to tell someone to go back in doors as he was chasing Kira and is a police officer...when he knows full well there is people DEVOTED to Kira, all he has to say is he is chasing a wanted criminal, if it's a Kira devotee they will likely tell him Kira will handle it if not they will oblige without a word, it's really that simple, they made L seem really dumb for who he is, he would know better in the anime and we saw how he managed to corner Kira while setting up a perfect defence.

So, lets say Square Enix gives you full creative control of Final Fantasy XVI.
How would you do it?

why would i tarnish a second franchise with that monstrosity
yikes
uh
i dont know that i would actually -want- full creative control over FF16 mainly because that franchise has so many expectations and elements built up that place a lot of demand upon how it has to be done
and like look idgaf about making sure there's a cid and a moogle and an airship somewhere in there, ok easter eggs aren't difficult to inject or anything
but doubleyikes for volume of content
im not saying i wouldnt do it just that i would panic
i am good at that -

So, now I've finished the first chapter of every Main Character in Octopath Traveler.
So far, Therion is my favorite. The cocky attitude, the pride and overconfidence, he is a classic edgy character with a dark past. Sure, that trope has been done over millions of times already, but are any of the main characters in this game really unique?
For some reason, characters like Therion work for me. Every time.
My second favorite? Olberic. Even if I believe his principle of Honor is really naive, I can't help but respect this guy.

The year is 20XX.
Everyone plays Daisy at TAS levels of Perfection.
Because of this, the winner of a match is based solely on port priority.
Port priority is given based on a rather Odd contest: Players have to repeat the words "Hi, I'm Daisy" as many times as they can within a timespan of one minute. Port Priority is claimed by whoever had the most repeats at the end of the minute.
The fast talking Metagame has evolved to ridiculous levels due to it being the only remaining factor to decide matches.
