  1. I'm currently playing Octopath Traveler. I hope V11 is done by the time I finish the game.
  2. So, in Octopath Traveler, I started H'aanit's story.

I hate this path's dialogue. Why does everyone speak in Ye Olde Butcherede Englishe?

    1. Amethyst

      Amethyst

      DUDE SAME
i got the demo when it first came out and tried her first and i was like

      wow

      i really hate this

speaking that way is novel in short doses or for stuffy old men who wouldn't know what humor was if it slapped them in the face but for the major form of dialogue or a protagonist it really diminishes a lot of potential in the writing

  3. I just Started the game. Good first impression, satisfying combat system. Since my Nintendo Switch is the only console I'm taking to college, I'm going to take a break from it and play more on my PS3 What a coincidence! I'm also playing Snake Eater. Except this time I'm running through the game with my newly obtained Stealth Camo and Infinity Face Paint. This time, I've decided to take out the M1911A1 and kill everything I see... and then be punished by the Sorrow for it.
  4. It can be any Fire Emblem game. How does it go? How does the Plot go? Does Cloud's attacking Stats break the game, and does he become like Ike in Path of Radiance?
  5. There honestly need to be more anime movies that are animated like Final Fantasy VII: Advent Children.

I know that it's technically not a good movie, but I still enjoyed the Animation, CGI, and Fighting scenes. Why aren't there more movies animated like this?

  6. So, I started playing Octopath Traveler today, and I chose Therion.

One thing I've had to say is that the combat is incredibly satisfying.

I've heard that there isn't much interaction between the main 8 heroes. That's kind of a disappointment.

I'll judge this game After I'm done playing. First impressions look good.

  7.

Don't these pieces of music kinda sound similar?

The beginning of the Final fantasy Music and 0:20 at Assassin's Creed?

  8. So, I think Fire Emblem Fates had three pretty trashy stories.

But if I were to make the next Fire Emblem, I might use the neighboring empires thing as a part of my story.

Instead of Nohr being evil and Hoshido being good, I would have tried to write the two empires to be a moral gray. That way, there would actually be a choice.

And, because I have a thing for Student and Mentor dynamics in stories, I'd have the Main character have a predecessor that had to make the same choice... 6 years before. Let me detail it: The MC always makes the opposite choice of the predecessor. The predecessor's backstory is that she made her choice, and later she offered herself up as a POW to the opposite side, in exchange for peace between the two empires, which was ultimately futile, since the peace... did not last. The MC is on the opposite side, so he will meet the predecessor due to some plot point (I really don't want to go with the whole "chosen one" thing, since its really overused in stories like this). After a quest involving using magic to return the predecessor's strength (Because being imprisoned for six years can take a toll on a person's physical and mental well-being) and freeing her from Imprisonment, the two start working together for some other cause. The Predecessor then helps to guide the MC (who barely has any combat experience) towards becoming a better soldier and teaches him how to use his tools and surroundings properly and effectively.

I also want to erode the common Anime Tropes with considering our two main characters. No Yanderes here.

I'd also put more emphasis on cinematics, because I am a huge Metal Gear Solid fan.

an issue with not having the "chosen one cliché" here is that, in FE games, that's just really easy to base a story around. How else would you justify a certain character being the only one who could wield a certain weapon (Falchion, for example)

Maybe create a sword that destroys anyone with a weak will, but anyone who has strong willpower will be able to wield it effectively? That way, anyone worthy enough will be able to wield the sword. You wouldn't have to be Marth, Alm, or whoever.

not a bad idea, granted I'm no writer so idk how easy it is to write story's for games

  9. It's one thing to be difficult. It's another thing to be outright unfair. First of all: Mega Pidgeot. It outspeeds almost everything, and the fact that Hurricane never misses due to No guard and the boost from the field. Second: Sky Attack. That move is insane on this field. It already has high base power, and the fact that it doesn't have to charge and gains a boost from the field means that it can outright dent even the bulkiest of rock types. And if you survive and try to rock slide or stone edge, then Pidgeot and Unfezant have big pecks, which gives a defense boost. I dislike how their are barely any catchable pokemon in the area that have the speed and power to take on a Mega Pidgeot. Since you can't backtrack back to West Gearen, it means that it's extremely hard to get a pokemon that can stand up to Souta. I think that Mega Pidgeot is really the root of this gym's problems. If you do have a pokemon that Outspeeds: Tailwind has got you covered. There are other problems, but I think these are the worst of them. Or maybe I'm just overreacting. Is there something I missed? Some hax mon that can troll Souta's team to death? Whatever I missed, I ask of our Lord Jan to nerf Souta, like Masahiro Sakurai did to his son, Meta Knight. And I totally did not make this post just so that I could say that.
  10. So, wait. We don't have to replace the Scripts in E18? And Apparently Aironfaar's modpack works as well. I checked.
  11. In my opinion, Heihachi and Raiden are the only Playstation All-Star Battle Royale characters who have any business in Super Smash Bros Ultimate.

Heihachi was actually briefly considered by Masahiro Sakurai himself, but was passed over in favor of Pac-Man as a representative of Bandai Namco.

And Raiden is the adoptive nephew, protege, and number one fanboy of Solid Snake, a character already in Smash Bros Ultimate.

Although, to be fair, thanks to Snake's appearance in Super Smash Bros Brawl, none of the characters are... completely unthinkable.

  12. The Sonic Boom cartoon is actually pretty darn good. I originally thought that it would be some cheaply produced cringeworthy show with awful one liners and bad voice acting.

Then I watched it. It's actually really self aware, and it seems the writers and voice actors had a lot of fun with this show. In fact, because of this show, I was able to forgive... the extremely unintelligent version of Knuckles.

It doesn't deserve to be associated with Rise of Lyric.

  13. So, I've already beaten Version 18. Reflecting on it...
  14. Top ten anime battles.

  15. So, Gray Fox hasn't been elevated from his position as an Assist Trophy in Super Smash Bros Brawl?

Shame. I'd have liked to play as him.

    1. Wolfox

      Wolfox

they did say we wouldn't get too many new ones, and considering quite a big number of new guys has been revealed thus far (including Echoes), can't really blame them

  16. 0 Bugs. I know I've posted these before, but there is really no better time to post these victory themes. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=B6X3WypKJIQ https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-YCN-a0NsNk
  17. Vergeben leaked something else.

Budew is playable in Smash Ultimate. He's an echo fighter of King K. Rool.

He's SSS tier. He's more Broken than Pre Patch Bayo and Meta Knight. And Sakurai absolutely refuses to nerf him.

So, yeah, good luck with that.

    1. Amethyst

      Amethyst

      smash for worst game

    2. Dreamy

      Dreamy

Mario or someone uses their final smash:

(So glad I made this thing back then lol)

  18. I’m guessing Ike. The most respectable Fire Emblem character. He fights for his friends. Path of Radiance is the best Fire Emblem. Right now, I just want to talk about Lin. The best character.
  19. So, I want to get one of these two games for my Switch. Which would you recommend?

Xenoblade Chronicles 2? Or Octopath Traveler?

  20. Truth be told, I was kinda hoping that all 62 Bugs would be fixed today. But we can't have everything in life. I predict a 75% chance that all 30 bugs will be fixed by tomorrow, and the release will happen either tomorrow or day after.
  21. Vergeben was Right.

  22. So, they really put Simon Belmont and King K. Rool in, huh?

    The Mad Men.

  23. Pre Patch Bayonetta is the most broken character in Smash Bros history.

At least you could actually SDI out of Brawl Meta Knight's attacks.

    1. Wolfox

      Wolfox

Brawl meta vs Pre-patch Bayo. both players being the best of the best. now that's gonna be a sight to behold

    2. Hycrox

      Hycrox

      pichu zero to deaths both

  24. It's not actually about Pokemon Let's go. If they do mention it, It's probably not going to be that important. Nintendo is actually banking its direct on Smash Bros. Which is fine by me, I don't intend on buying Let's go. I can't wait for them to announce Sephiroth and Raiden (Metal Gear) as playable characters.
