  1. Little Mac’s recovery is so bad he essentially gimps himself.

  2. Dynamaxing is going to break the Pokemon Metagame.

    Isn't it?

I'd have to really rewatch closely, but I saw at some point what looked like a trainer using a z-move dance with a dynamaxed pokemon.

Dynamax should be fine as long as it excludes those and megas though.

I would imagine Low Kick and Grass knot would shred through its hp

It's like a mixture of Raid battles and totem mons

  3. The E3 Direct should feature Shulk threatening to cut Sakurai open with the Monado II unless he puts Rex in Smash.

A Xenoblade protagonist sticking up for a fellow Xenoblade protagonist. Heartwarming situation, when you think about it.

    Except for Sakurai.

    Spoiler

And the Fact that Shulk Canonically almost doomed Alrest. It would make up for that.

  4. If you aren't attracted to someone based on their skin color, that doesn't make you a racist.

Skin color is a physical feature of a person. Different people find different skin colors attractive.

That's just the way humans are.

Back in my day we called that preference. Hey something that is subjective like this doesn't make you racist.

Being attracted to someones melanin count seems strange to me. That's all i've gotta say.

@Youmu9 Good for you. I actually feel the same way.

But its a biological function of humans. Something we gotta accept. No use calling someone a racist because they don't find white skinned folks attractive. Or black hair. Or Blue eyes.

It's more... discrimination based on appearance rather than discrimination based on race. You can avoid being guilty of the latter. But the former is something all humans are guilty of.

  5. My Cousin is sticking with his Wii U.

I'm sticking with my Playstation Vita.

Sometimes we just keep our consoles with us, even if they flopped.

  6. Shulk almost doomed Alrest.

    Spoiler

If Shulk and his friends defeated Zanza any sooner than they did, than Rex and his friends wouldn't have been able to make it to Klaus in time. Since Zanza was now dead, Klaus would die along with him.

And He probably wouldn't have caused the Titans to merge if he didn't meet Rex and Co. Before that, he was still disappointed in mankind.

So yeah, Shulk was almost a dick to the universe of Xenoblade Chronicles 2.

  7. I never felt like... a cemented lightbulb...

  8. Ok, I know Pichu needed some nerfs, but Patch 3.1.0 really overdid it.

He’s mid tier at best, now.

  9. So, I recently decided to rewatch Ben 10 (2005).

When I was younger, I'd occasionally catch episodes airing on TV. But I never got to see all of them.

I'm currently on episode 9. When I saw that circus freak who destroys things with his breath, I immediately thought, "Did Bane Awaken his Mangekyo Sharingan?"

Ben can sometimes be a bratty 12 year old, but he does show his likable side quite often, such as his worry over his grandfather in Episode 8.

Ben 10, a nice throwback for throwback Thursday. I remember watching this quite often on Cartoon Network as a kid.

I remember enjoying the first two or three series, though I never finished the whole thing.  Good stuff

  10. Shooting yourself in the head...

    Crushing a Tarot Card...

    Or ripping off a Mask...

    Which would you rather do?

      >Ripping off a Mask

Bane told me it would be extremely painful, and he was a tough guy, for me at least, so there's probably some weight in his words.

I mean, shooting yourself in the head looks the most stylish in anime. And Persona 3 was the best Persona game I've played... so that.

I wonder what the next Persona will do? Oh, you know what would be cool!? If they did something like slitting their throats or wrists with fancy looking knives! That'd be amazing! I hope Atlus does it.

  11. Even when they don't have concrete cutscenes, or a plot that's either simple or complicated. Those are usually supplements. They do make the experience more engaging, (by providing context), but they aren't the type of storytelling that I'm talking about. You have your character, and their moveset. In essence, the moveset is a representation of the character. It tells you about the character, the way they fight, and the playstyle you can adopt to get best results. A Fighting game match essentially tells a story about the conflict between two characters. The Story is told by the programmers and the players. It's up to the programmers to create a moveset that represents a character. And It's up to the players to have the skill to make a character use that moveset to defeat another character. If Player 1 wins, than the story ends with "With Character 1's moveset, he prevailed against Character 2." And Vice Versa. It's very simple. But it's a story, nonetheless. Of course, Music and graphics do play a role. They set the mood and atmosphere for the fight. Very bare bones analysis, but this is a generalization of fighting games in general. If I had to go in to detail about Mortal Kombat appealing to human nature by using Blood and Gore to make it seem forbidden, this would be longer.
  12. Compared to a lot of first entries in old franchises, Pokemon Red has aged surprisingly well. This was the game that introduced and popularized the Monster Collection genre in the west, right? It was essentially Nintendo's kid-friendly (until the gambling laws changed) version of Shin Megami Tensei. Except... I had more fun playing Pokemon Red than I did the SNES Translation of Shin Megami Tensei 1. The Overworld didn't feel like a pain to navigate. The battles weren't just "Spam Zio to win". (Seriously, You could win more than half the battles in the game using electric spells. Zio-locks were really broken, and I don't know why they felt the need to program that into the game.) In a sense, Shin Megami Tensei might have been responsible for Pokemon's success in Japan. But Pokemon Red was definitely the better game. I do consider this game better than X and Y, mainly because it didn't hold your hand the whole way through.
  13. Star Wars fan points a gun at Rian as he tries to run away *Bang* Rian Struggles to get up only to get grabbed by the fan Rian: Fans, look, I can explain... Fan: You lied to me! Rian: No, that wasn't the deal. She (Kathleen Kennedy) told... *Bang* Rian: Aaaaaaahhh... fans, please! Fan: You betrayed me! *Bang* Fan: You used me! *Bang* Fan: You fucked up the lore... *Bang* Fan: And now... Rian: Fans, please... I can explain.... Fan: You have my permission to die. Fan Points gun directly at Rian's head *Bang*
  14. Did you intentionally name yourself after the Ace Attorney character of the same name?

  15. This guy are sick.

  16. It seems like a lot of characters that I play, like Roy, Shulk, Cloud, Joker, etc. have really poor grab ranges. I could be right up in someone’s face, and I still can’t get the grab. Grab out of shield is now a worse option in Ultimate. This is a shame, since a lot of characters have really good throw options. But they can’t access those options due to poor grab range. It’s not just my characters. A lot of my friends face the same problems. So, I think buffing everyone’s grab range would be a good move for everyone. Would make the game more fun by making one of Smash’s integral mechanics viable.
  17. Fair enough. Except I don’t remember Ether being a concept in Pokemon other than those Items that restored PP. Other than that, Fair enough. I haven’t played gale of darkness, so I don’t know.
  18. But I mean, Jan clearly loves Xenoblade. He outright confirmed it. Even if you didn’t read his confirmation, you can tell from the Interceptor being a plot element, “Ether” being a thing in Rejuvenation, and of course, the name Melia being used. I don’t think Jan plays much Final Fantasy.
  19. @Jan So why is Melia’s name “Melia” and not “Fiora”?
  20. So it turns out Ridley was a Fire Emblem character all along? What a twist!
  21. I can't really say that Xenoblade Chronicles X "stole my heart" like Xenoblade Chronicles 1 and 2 have.

As predictable as the Stories that XC1 and XC2 might have been, they still captivated me, enough to become a fanboy.

XCX's story just... sucked. It's not a bad game, but it's probably the MGSV and Final Fantasy XV of its own franchise.

  22. I doubt that this won't be completed by the time I get through Memeborn.
  23. As a Smash Ultimate Cloud Main, I will never not find this funny.
