No, you do not need a full team before the first gym (although it may help a little bit.) Largely, the first gym is either too easy or too hard for many people because your success is largely related to the starters that you have chosen. Maybe we can help; what current team do you have?

Honestly, I agree with most everyone here. It's near-impossible to be able to train a team to change any field to your advantage, so many times you should just try to take advantage of the existing field rather than change it.

In regards to the banner being very large, I believe I read somewhere that the maximum height allowed is around two trainer cards tall, and for all it matters, it can be as wide as the computer screen.

For real though, why does my numpad turn off randomly even though my hand never goes near the "num lock" button

question, is your numpad directly connected to the keyboard (like a full keyboard layout)or is it an externam USB device you connected to your computer. If its the latter, try seeing if it might be the USB's fault (try connecting it into another port) or if its connected directly onto the keyboard, check with anohter keyboard if that numpad works. IT is either a part of your keyboard malfunctioning, or its your computer. First try resetting it and see if that helps (most windows problmes...

I'm using my laptop, so the num lock hey is directly built in to the keyboard. It's probably just an error on my end that I can't figure out; maybe as the lid closes, the button is occasionally pressed down. That being said, it doesn't happen, but when it does happen, it's always when I need to be using the pad to it's an inconvenience to me.
