Lenore studies Kane closely for a moment. "........you know, you sound like one of those fairy tale heroes, don't you? You sound corny as hell.""

Lenore pauses a minute. ".....you ever consider giving up?"

Lenore sighs. "You're telling me. I signed up for a challenge. A last heist, before I took off and enjoyed my riches. Something to erase the red on my ledger. Not.....fighting some large conspiracy. Not that I never suspected something like this going on, but.....I'm a con, not some hero out of a fairy tale. I steal paintings and jewellry. I don't fight dragons and gods. This isn't my style."

".....you really underestimated just how difficult this whole mess would be, huh? How much of this has gone at all according to your plan?"

Lenore snorts. "You didn't think we'd have to take on the world to change it, you mean?"

Lenore, for her part, simply looks exhausted. She was really looking forward to the whole thing being over. She wasn't a mystery-solving investigator, she wasn't driven like Liza. She was here for the thrill of the hunt, the fun of the chase. Dealing with deeply-seated government conspiracies, ancient godly weapons and the like was a little over her head. She seeks out Kane. "....boss. Did you ever figure any of this would happen, before you decided to get around to doing this?"

"Really, all you got is "we can't do anything but talk"? How many times have you said that, while bantering right back, and how many times have you actually managed to do us in? Give it up and do something productive with your life like learning to paint or something. And maybe sort your anger issues out. You're right, nothing matters in death, and neither will your grudge."

"You jokers? Again? Seriously? You managed to lose one of your own too. Must not like the retirement plan. Where'd you lose them, the orphanage?"

Gabriel is.....not amused. "....you're kidding me, right? I have to.....damn it, alright, fine, take the money and get out of my head." Use the stocked up Elder Coins to buy out the opposing stock on Gabriel's Freila, and then use Freila on CFW Magic for Eternal Crunch. Freila: Utilising Oppenheimer, Gabriel blasts an opponent with the power of nuclear radiation, unleashing a miniature nuclear blast onto them. Gabriel does 6d6+SYN (14) damage to a single target.

Lenore raises an eyebrow. "How long did you rehearse that? Couple of hours? That sounded like you took it from some hack's idea of a great play. You can spare me the professional talk; it's dirty business is what it is. But you're right, we'll be unsung heroes. And you'll be forgotten about the moment we walk out of here."

Lenore groans as she just looks over at Baldur with resigned irritation. "Save the lecture for later, Orchid. Focus more on knifing them than yelling at us, will you?" She shoots Mim a grateful nod and gets moving. M24

"Yeah, the only thing she's paying for is your hospital bill when we're finished putting you in traction!" Gabriel briefly pondered if it was a good idea to piss off their enemy like that. Or if that threat even sounded cool. Man, Perlita must be cringing hearing that. Freila on CFW Magic....again, re-inflicting Sun Arcana and applying extra damage from Beat of My Blood. Eternal Crunch Action: Red Wall on Mira Freila: Utilising Oppenheimer, Gabriel blasts an opponent with the power of nuclear radiation, unleashing a miniature nuclear blast onto them. Gabriel does 6d6+SYN (14) damage to a single target. Red Wall: Grants the target 75% extra damage resistance for 1 turn, increasing to 90% against fire/nuclear-aspected attacks.
