FEF: The Lost Lands [IC Thread]
Twinwolf replied to Twinwolf's topic in Unofficial Official RP Club's General
~~~Ally Phase~~ Leslie dashes to the side and gets into her store. "I'll get my supplies all set to go! Don't worry, they won't be able to get in here now." ~~~Enemy Phase~~~ The knights march to meet the riders. Two go for Bradwr, and the third goes for Winston. After Bradwr manages to badly hurt the two guards that attacked him, the third takes a stab at Winston. It goes about as well as it tends to. Others march up, and the archers take shots. The leader shouts at his men. "We just need to hold them! Reinforcements will be here soon!" ~~~Player Phase~~~ "Then we won't be here when they arrive. Come on, this is the last group before we're clear!" Player Status: 74/100 XP Enemy Status:(Stats)- 430 replies
Alva listened quietly. She couldn't claim she understood everything, at least not very well. Kaede was... from an entirely different world than she was. That much was clear. Also clear was that her parents... well, she didn't think she would be able to forgive people who did things like that to their own child. She didn't know that she could help, but if Kaede thought she could... "I'm not sure if I can help... but I can definitely try, can't I? I think... I think being your friend is a good place to start, don't you?" She stood up and smiled at Kaede, before giving a theatrical curtsy. "I'll do my best to help you!" she said. She paused for a moment, then seemed to think of something. She turned and grabbed a pair of the plushies from her neat row of them, the dogs. "I know it's a bit silly, but..." she handed one out to Kaede. "I'd like you to have this. A gift as thanks for having me as your roommate! ...Maybe when you hold it, you'll think of me?" she seemed a bit embarrassed about that, but kept her hand extended, offering the toy.
-
Alva shrugged, and put the toy down, neatly organizing the trio of plushies before pulling out the fourth (and seemingly last), a bear. "Well, it's a few things. A couple of them, my parents gave to me when I was a kid. It reminds me of them, and I love them. A couple others were given by friends and remind me of those friends." she paused, trying to figure out how to word the next part. "It's... less the things themselves, more how they remind me of people and places that I love, that makes them comforting. And that they're sort of cute, that also helps."
-
Alva blinked, pausing in her unpacking and holding the plush cat still. "Oh, these?" she said, patting the head of the toy for a moment. Then she stopped, a bit of a blush of embarrassment developing. "Uh... I know it's kind of childish... I keep them because they're comforting. I like having them, and they remind me of home. It helps me sleep sometimes, when I miss it. Does that explain a bit?" she'd absentmindedly resumed the patting as she explained.
-
Alva didn't look like she fully understood it, but she nodded anyway. "Alright then. Just you, me, and maybe Riley. I can fill in Esyllt after? If you don't mind, that is. She was there, so I think she should know too?" Alva resumed unpacking. She'd gotten her clothing, some school supplies, and other such things, and was getting into more personal items. Starting with what seemed to be a plush dog toy. And then another. And then one of a cat. She'd gone back to humming a bit as she did this, although would more than likely be open to further conversation.
-
Rose took a deep breath, a light grin playing across her features - they were going to do something here. They were going to hurt them. "Got it, Rhees! The EXARCH is prepared for combat operations!" she said, as she started charging all weapons and thrusters. Plasma repeater... check. Railgun check. Shield check. Thrusters, check. The EXARCH, of course, was not an Interceptor - she wouldn't be dogfighting anything, at least not effectively. No, she would be taking it to the Cross and making herself a dangerous and distracting target, and hopefully blow up the Resanti that take the bait.
-
Alva nodded. "I think having friends always helps. To use your words, it lightens the burden. If it's a good friend then even if they can't help with what you're doing, just talking can make you feel better about things, and that's definitely worth a lot in my books!" Alva said cheerfully. After a few more moments, she moved on with the conversation. "I've talked with Riley some, we've been trying to figure out how my powers work and getting a plan for how we're going to deal with her if she shows up again. Maybe we could invite her here sometime when Arturia's out again and talk about it all together? ...And probably the other one... Esyllt, that was it. She was there too so it might be worth asking her?"
-
Alva sat quietly for a bit, listening and thinking. She could... sort of get what Kaede was saying, even if she was being more than a bit poetic about it rather than straight talk. A cruel destiny, a curse, it's not hard to decipher that sort of language. What was harder was that Kaede seemed to be referring to herself as a doll. Which actually had sort of fit what she was doing earlier but as far as Alva was aware Kaede was not in fact a doll. "...It could be worse." she said, with a bit of a smile towards Kaede. "You and Riley and that girl saved me from something really bad. I don't really believe in fate, but if it does exist, mine could have been so much worse. And I'm not alone, too, I have friends. So, if even if it's a curse, it can't be that bad, can it?"
-
Alva nodded, thinking about that as she continued to unpack. It was a strange conversation, to be sure. Not quite the strangest she'd had in her life. That honor belonged to three weeks ago. Still, Kaede was certainly no less mysterious than she had been last time. "She sounds like a great friend. I'll be happy to meet her when she gets back!" Alva said, retaining her cheer. "I think it's good you have a friend like that. Always nice." she said. When the conversation lulled again, Alva took a breath. Well, no more dancing around it. "...So, what are your thoughts about what... happened, a few weeks back?" she said quietly. "During the trip I mean."
-
Alva nodded. That was good, that was good... "So... if you don't mind me asking, what's your roommate like? I think I've seen Arturia around but I've not really had the chance to talk to her." She'd mostly come since she'd wanted to be a bit closer to Kaede, but she would also need to get to know her other roommate now, and that was always fun.
-
Alva let out a sigh of relief. "Ah, that's good... I was worried I'd messed up..." she said, dragging her things to whichever bed seemed like it was unoccupied and sitting down. "Uh... explanation, your old roommate was talking about transferring in my class and I wanted to talk with you more anyway and..." she made a vague 'things happened' sort of gesture. "And now I'm here! How've you been? It's been three weeks and all, so I was wondering." She began unpacking her things as she talked, starting with some clothes. She did not immediately broach the subject of what happened at the camp though. Not the sort of thing you jump into.
-
Alva at first didn't notice that Kaede was sort of... stunned. She had begun to bring her bags in when she caught Kaede staring at her blankly. She paused in her constant rush. "Uh, Kaede? Are you alright? I'm, uh, sorry about how sudden this is. I wanted to tell you ahead of time but like I said I couldn't find you..." Maybe Alva had misinterpreted them being friends after that whole shebang? She hoped she hadn't... "I could... go back outside and knock again? Then maybe do it properly?" she suggested, not really knowing what was wrong and trying to figure it out as she waited for a response.
-
Alva interrupted her humming as she saw the door open a crack, and a pretty blue eye peeked out. She leaned in, peeking on the same level as Kaede was, eye meeting eye again. "Oh hey, Kaede! I was sort of worried nobody would be here and I'd be locked out or something! Do you mind if I come in? You're not naked or something right?" Alva was her normal high-energy self, and if Kaede could recognize such in her tone might be able to guess she was happy to see her. Once Kaede stepped back, Alva opened the door and went for a hug, leaving her bags in the hall for the moment. "It's good to see you! I've been trying to find you for weeks now, but we don't share any classes and you weren't around on the weekends, so it never seemed to work. Sorry if I worried you!" she said, stepping back and smiling. "It won't be a problem anymore though! I heard your old roommate transferred out?" she stepped aside to let Kaede see her bags. ...It occured to her she may be doing too much too fast. "...Uh, assuming you and your other roommate don't mind much..." she coughed, and did a curtsy. "I'll be staying here from now on!" Yeah, that's way more polite. Definitely. Alva was glad to see Kaede, for sure - another person who knew what had happened. Another person who'd saved her. Another person she wanted to talk to more. And she was a little worried about her, to be honest. She didn't seem entirely ok, from their conversation before Katja had come for her. She wasn't sure she could help, but maybe another friend would be nice for her?
-
Alva had been more than a little bit... rattled, by the whole shebang with Katja. Outwardly she seemed as cheerful as ever, but she tried to avoid being alone, when she could. At least, besides the couple of times she had intentionally tried to find a time to be alone in order to try out her powers. She hadn't 100% processed that she had magic powers in the first bit of time after the incident. When she'd tried it out about a week later, she'd half expected it to all turn out to be a dream. But no, it wasn't. She had awesome magical powers. ...Which mostly consisted of getting a cute green dress and basically turning herself into an ice sculpture, but that was a thousand percent cooler (no pun intended) than what she could do before that! She had tried to get in touch with Kaede and Riley as well, over the time that it had been. While she hadn't been able to get in touch with Kaede - completely different schedules, and she always seemed to be out on the weekend - she had managed to find Riley. Alva found her very... focused. Alva tried to be friendly, but she always seemed more focused on business. Except when Alva brought food. She was a fairly good cook, if she did say so herself, and she felt she owed Riley something for saving her there. Even if she didn't beat Katja, she'd been able to warn her against going with her, which was nearly as good in her books! Well, even then Riley seemed a bit quick to get on with it, but at least they managed some small talk while eating. They did some planning, for what to do about Katja - obviously, breaking the hourglass didn't work, so they figured the plan would be take the hourglass away without damaging it. Somehow. Work in progress. They also did some physical training, teaching Alva how to use her abilities and fight. She was certainly an enthusiastic student, as she tried to figure out what she could do with her ice, how to fight in close, and how to not break when something hits her in the wrong way. She wasn't a prodigy, but she was making progress! Alva had been hearing about all the room swaps, but hadn't really expected the chance that had presented itself. She wasn't particularly attached to her current roommates, as they'd also been recently swapped into the room and seemed to find her sort of tiring with her endless energy, so she offered to swap with the girl who was trying to "escape" Kaede and this Arturia girl to save some time for the both of them. This is what led her to being outside the dorm room with her bags, cheerfully knocking on the door as she hummed a tune from a reasonably popular tv show.
"...I, uh, don't know what you're apologizing for? I don't think I'm dead...?" Alva said in response to Riley's apology... she seemed plenty alive, so it didn't seem to make sense that Riley had "killed" her. She'd need to ask about this later. "I'm... sure it's fine though." Now was probably not the best time to think about it, as Alva prepared to attack. They'd have plenty of time when this was over. If it was. She knew that this was probably pointless, if she could loop forever. But she had to get... tired, eventually, right? And Alva just couldn't go with her. Not to that fate. She had finished turning to ice... And then somebody came out of nowhere, told them to leave, and did a bubble thing around both them and their assailant. For a moment Alva stared, and then Riley's words knocked her out of it. "R-Right! Thank you for you help whoever you are!" Always important to be polite. It was at this point Alva turned back, her transformation reversing as quickly as it had appeared the first time and leaving the green-haired and eyed girl in her normal form. Then she turned on her heel, grabbed Kaede's hand, and bolted for the cabins after Riley, -
Renee had been making sure her wounds were all closed up as one of the others came over. “Hm? Oh, I’m Renee. A pleasure, circumstances aside.” She said politely. She glanced over to where Morgan was and seemed to consider for a moment. “Mmm... yeah, Morgan seems fine, oddly enough. I saw them talking to this guy earlier too. Usually they don’t really do well with people, so glad they can talk to someone other than me...” -
Victoria/"Satania" Victoria managed to keep her expression blank as the maid outfit was presented. Oh. So this would be happening. She'd... sort of been hoping that her Master was going to get them going before she had to... fiiiine. "Alrighty then..." she said, taking the outfits. "I'll just... get changed. Yeah." She indicated for them to leave her to do so, and when they did would begin to put it on. This was... possibly the most ridiculous thing that had ever happened to her. Erica The conversation lulled for a bit, and Erica looked to the city. "We've been walking a while. Seems as good a time as any to get into the city proper and start trying to find other participants - maybe we'll find some that are already weakened." She said, as she changed directions, taking them from the outskirts into a residential area. -
Alva blinks - one moment, they were fighting, the next they were back where they started, again. She had already transformed again and was activating her power, the chill seeping through her, as Riley recommended they give up. "...Give up? That easily?" she asked, clearly surprised. "You were all gung ho a second ago..." She stood up, leaving her attempt at a combat stance. What had happened that made her want to give up? "I-I'm sorry... I don't think I can do that yet!" she said, suddenly lunging for Katja. She didn't mean to break the hourglass this time though - that had reset them, so it obviously wouldn't work. But maybe, if she could grab it and take it away... That said, she wasn't exactly a competent combatant, and this manuever likely would not work, at least not alone. -
Satomi watched over the still functioning cameras, biting her lip. The headache had subsided - well, it still pounded, but it wasn't all-consuming anymore -, but her synch ratio had dropped like a rock when she was stabbed and still hadn't recovered enough for her to get back into the fight. They had managed to turn it around. No thanks to her. All she'd done was flail like a drunk and get taken out in one hit. If it had been an Angel she'd probably be dead. Not good enough... nowhere near good enough. Logically speaking, she knew that this sort of thing was to be expected. A newbie against a professional. Only her second time in the Eva. It was a simulation and it was better to fail here than outside. That didn't mean she wasn't kicking herself inside. She'd need to get better. Much, much better. She took a deep breath, trying to calm herself and think logically through the pain. Getting better started with seeing where you went wrong, right? So best to think about that...- 180 replies
"Huh? Not sure if I am, but my name is Elizabeth..." Winston gave her a once-over. It couldn't be that easy, but... she did match the description. "Don't worry about it. You said you were going to the docks? We were heading that way too - we'll go with you. I suggest Opus as a destination - we need to warn them, and it's probably as safe as you're getting without somehow getting Emries to let you in."- 430 replies
~~~Ally Phase~~~ Leslie, with the coast largely clear, starts heading to her shop. ~~~Enemy Phase~~~ "What's going on out there?" The commander asks as the fighting dies down. "They've killed Joakin and Uriel's squads, dead to a man!" one of the outer guards shouts back. "Where did they come from? I thought we'd already cleared the town guard?" "The leader's got military colors!" "Send for reinforcements! We can't let them get out of the town alive!" ~~~Player Phase~~~ Winston rides forward, looking to the group of civilians. "Thanks for the assistance - I'm sorry we couldn't come sooner. I'm more sorry we won't be able to save the town. Where were you heading, besides right into Pax soldiers - although it seems like you handled yourselves well." Elizabeth, running to catch up, answers after she catches her breath. "We were heading to the docks! There were some ships coming in there when the alarms rang, and we figured getting through the port district would be easier than getting out one of the gates. We were going to board a ship and sail away from here." Player Status: 66/100 XP Enemy Status- 430 replies

Marl walks forward to finish one of the gravely wounded marines, but he ducks behind a tree just in time. Anea heals Winston. Bradwr stabs an archer. Beatrix attacks the mage. He ducks behind a tree - which is shattered by the orb of dark magic sent his way, which proceeds to make a giant hole in him. New move needed for Yuel. ~~~Ally Phase~~~ “That’s my shop right there! I’ll be able to get my supplies once these guys are cleared out.” ~~~Enemy Phase~~~ It’s a bad situation, but Pax soldiers are known for fighting to the end if they are physically capable of it, and that’s what these men mean to do. The men gang up on the leader, hoping to demoralize the enemy. While he’s badly hurt, it doesn’t quite work. Winston - and both of the marines - are left barely standing. ~~~Player Phase~~~ "...So, that was your best shot? Wonderful - it's our turn then." he glanced over at the armed group heading their way - too odd an assortment to be anything resembling Pax soldiers, so they must have dealt with the Eastern group. "Civilians, this group will be mopped up shortly - we will be able to aid you then." The enemy look quite resentful at such an offhanded mention. Tsidin regenerates 4 HP.
