  1. Satomi froze for just a moment as the Angel looked her way, a cold fear shooting down her spine - she'd been at range, not in direct combat really. But that would likely change in a moment. Deeeep breath (er... gulp? LCL and all). She took a step forward, then another - if she was directly over the civilians when it charged then they might get crushed. She swapped clips in the palette rifle when a monitor thing yelled at her that she was running low in the clip. Focus, don't panic, don't run - she adjusted her glasses (without making the Eva do it this time). PA system, PA system... "Hey down there," she said, trying to keep her voice steady, "Might want to brace yourselves. Maybe get a bit closer to the ship. Just a suggestion."
  2. Clarisse had been quiet up to around this point, mostly because she'd been unconscious. She'd been one of the ones on her feet at the time, and she'd fought quite hard until they finally knocked her out - they needed to hire some replacement heavy armor troops now. And replace that asshole with that magic that messed with her mind. She sat up with a loud groan, rubbing her head.
  3. Rei, similar to her sister, was quite interested in the prospect of food. "Oooooh, fooood~" she muttered as their guide worked. To the person who suggested they work together, she responded without shifting her gaze. "Uhhhh cooperation? Sure, sure. Don't see a problem there, right sis?"
  4. Yuri cracked her knuckles as they got back to the ship. Time to get to work. "Alright! Me, Azusa, and Lucinda need to practice for this, since we're going to be up front." she began, pointing out the girls in question. "The question's then, what do you two -" She nodded to Yuki and Ayaka - "Do? Do you two want to practice too? Or do you think you should work on publicity with one of those opportunities - that is, the fliers or the radio show. I... don't think a handshake event would go well."
  5. Forge Forge did what she was asked, quickly conjuring a light metal orb and handing it to Merlin. She hadn't quite known what to expect when Tallow took her hand. Whatever she had, what happened was not it - for a few moments loosely connected images and thoughts passed through the link as Forge sorted through the surprise and calmed down a bit. It was... odd, not to be able to feel anything. And the way the wisp worked was odd too - she couldn't quite tell where Laura/Forge ended and Selene/Tallow began. After she got... not used to it, but at least comprehending what was happening, she forced her thoughts into words. "...How do we move?" That was a question - no feet to push off the ground, so no walking. Although, this was magic - maybe they just had to... go?
  6. Satomi frowned as various things began to happen - and she couldn't move or the civilians would be in danger. So she was left at range, hoping her Palette Rifle didn't run out of ammunition. She aimed at the core and fired. "Ranga..." Satomi said as the younger girl seemed to panic, looking at her screen. "Calm down - you can move. We're all here, things are going to be fine - try to find one of the rifles somebody dropped, and try to shoot at the Angel if you don't think you can get close." she said, sounding far more calm than she was, but panicking would not help her out here.
  7. Rei had started doing that 'I really fucking need to go' sort of movements a good 20 minutes back. She wondered if being half-oni was why she could hold it this long, but didn't really care as she bolted inside and went for the toilet (or equivalent) with a quick "Thank you thank you!"
  8. Rei shrugs, and follows as well - may as well at this point.
  9. Satomi maintained her position guarding the civilians, but tried to get a better angle on the Angel from which she could fire - without hitting Ahmed, Ranga, or that redhead. She didn't have the greatest aim, but the targetting systems in the Eva helped to make up for it, and she fired off some rounds - although she was inexperienced and didn't quite realize that maybe full auto wasn't the way to go, she managed to avoid hitting any of the others in any serious manner (although only some of the shots hit the Angel) or crushing the civilians under shell casings. "Note to self; burst fire." she muttered to herself.
  10. Rei nodded. "Right, right, need to find a bathroom..." Rei muttered, being that she'd really rather not piss her pants. She hurried back down the steps now.
  11. Rei quickly turned around as she heard a familiar voice - Huh? She ran back up to the other horned person. "S-Shinobu? You're here too? Sorry for running off, I got grabbed when I was going to the bathroom and they didn't magically relieve that... and there's no bathrooms that I can see..." that bit was in a tone of almost utter despair. "...I assume you don't have any more idea what's going on than I do?"
  12. Satomi charged into place to protect the civilians, being careful not to step on them. "I-In position..." she reported, glancing back at the people below and behind - she had to stay here, and protect them. Their lives were in her hands, she couldn't mess up, she couldn't run from this- deeeep breath, calm. Or as calm as can be reasonable. "We were hardly given a tutorial - how do we activate that?" she asks. "What's an AT Field' was also a question but it was irrelevant one right now. While waiting for a response, she took a defensive stance - she would not let it past while the Eva could move. And that was about when Ranga crashed herself into the Angel. "R-Ranga, what are you doing - get back!"
  13. Rei... really hadn't been doing much of note when something that would change her life happened. Honestly, how rude - she was literally just going to the bathroom! Could have at least waited until she was done. She'd been practicing this whole 'danmaku' thing - it turns out Oni strength + human magic = good at making a lot of bullets - and she'd needed to take a break as nature called. She'd just made it there, the world went white and goodbye Gensokyo, hello wherever the heck this place is. And Rei still needed to pee. So the spiel was delivered and the half-oni and the other new arrivals released. She'd consider the implications of Miss Talking Head's words later. A quick glance and she found the stairs (not yet noticing a certain other horned woman), and she was off like a shot - she'd been holding it that whole time, so priorities. She hit the bottom of the stairs quickly and glanced around for some sort of place that would have a public restroom or someone to ask directions from or maybe a bush if neither of the first two were available...
  14. Satomi... did not recall agreeing, per se, but she also really didn't have a choice in the matter. She gave an apologetic look to her father as she was ushered towards the entry plug of the Evangelion that had caught the group. She took an instinctive deep breath as the entry plug filled with LCL - a tech had hastily informed her it was safe to breath, but it felt weird to take in what looked like water and not choke. Then it looked like what she assumed taking a shot of LSD looked like, and suddenly she could see beyond the plug - the crack in her glasses was annoying, but Satomi could work around it. Thought interface set to Japanese - she figured her Father had something to do with setting it to that as opposed to English or German for her. And... synch rate. That was a thing. No idea what it meant. She hoped 29% was normal or good. And... restraints. Unit 17 took a shaky step into the hanger. Then another. "...Alright, I think I'm starting to get the hang of this." Satomi said, more for her own confidence than anything. Wiggling fingers, alright, don't try anything fancy. Hands can move, good, good - don't try to adjust your glasses, Unit 17 does not have glasses. Right? Eva sized glasses would look stupid and use an entirely excessive amount of glass. She tried to cover for the action by moving the fingers in front of her face. "Check, hands are mobile..." she muttered. She walked forward now, behind Beverly's Evangelion, grabbing another rifle and walking out into the sun. Satomi took a deep breath (which felt weird in LCL) as the Angel came into sight. Alright, time to do some work. She'd been hefting the rifle - she had the basic idea of how to use a gun, mostly the common knowledge stuff. Brace, aim, shoot. The rest was reloading and safety - not immediately relevant. Anyway, she'd been hefting up the rifle when the redhead came on the channel. Well, she was already in a fight - she had more experience. So, probably a good start point to listen. "Rodger that. I'll do it - I think my one's pretty well armored, it should be good for that kind of thing." she told the others, dropping the rifle and preparing to take Unit-02's position. "...Please be careful." she added lamely, as if that wasn't just something you should do. Satomi was, to put it simply, fucking scared. You would have to be an idiot not to be. However, she was trying not to let that get in the way of doing what needed to be done. She saw the Angel and in all honesty wanted to run away like any sane woman would. But she couldn't do that. She just couldn't. So, for now - focus on not squishing the people (oh god they're tiny) when she moves to guard them.
  15. Satomi froze at the Admiral's statement. "...Excuse me? Us? Pilot? Why? Aren't those... they must be..." she paused, and looked at the bronze colossus that had caught them. ...If the Admiral was asking them to pilot then that might mean- "...It's not piloted, is it?" she asked. Her, pilot an... an Evangelion? Her father would never allow it - but he could be overruled by the admiral. And... she had this distinct feeling, that she didn't have a real choice in the matter. Not when there was an Angel outside, not when the robot had moved on it's own to save them - how do robots even do that, this isn't an anime! - , and not when the Ark might be in danger if she didn't.
  16. Rapid Fire (Attacks twice at 75% damage per attack. 20% chance to miss on each attack.) on DT Warrior Battalion A
  17. Tarukaja/Rakukaja, buff Solomon and Silef's main attack stats by Hikari's SYN. Second action, Dia (3d4+1.25 SYN) on Wyvis. Strength 5 (+1 due to Blade Ring) Dexterity 8 Intelligence 0 Synergy: 9 Resistance: 9 (due to armor) Constitution: 4
  18. Satomi had been trying to extricate her arm from Kyou's iron grip (dang, running around maintenance shafts all day seemed to have given them some upper body strength) when out of nowhere her father came catapulting into her. After a few moments of shock, she taps his back - "N-Need to breathe...!" but when he released, she'd just return the hug (with less oxygen deprivation). "I-I'm fine, a bit sore but n-nothing feels broken." she assured him. She doesn't at first seem to realize she's been asked to go to the admiral, but Ahmed speaking up prompts her to notice - she gets to her feet, a bit shakily. She clears her throat and coughs. "I-I'm sorry for coming without permission." she says, trying to take a formal tone both to her father and the admiral. "But taking those two away without an explanation in this situation... Kyou and I were concerned." she tries to explain, adjusting her glasses - well, she would have if they'd stayed on during the fall. Shit where - oh there they were, that's a relief. She picked up the glasses from the Eva's palm and put them on. And then adjusted them anyway. A little cracked - she'd need to replace the lens.
  19. Satomi, just noticing Kyou's particular reaction now, cautiously moved to pat their back (...Satomi still wasn't sure if Kyou was a boy or a girl). "W-We're ok, you can let go, w-we're safe now..." she said, without any real idea if they were safe but just trying to calm them.
  20. "Don't worry, I'll get him!" Elise says as she remounts Gale and gets on her way to help. Akane had missed - the perils of ship-board fighting she supposed. Well, she'd try not to; G26, stabby, canto to G27
  21. Yuri nods in agreement. "Both would look fine, yeah. Hey, Lucinda, are you going to buy one? We have the money and they really seem to like Fashion Next brand dresses here."
  22. Satomi stayed stationary for a minute, hyperventilating a bit from the surprise near-death. Then she realized she wasn't dead and was staring at whatever it was that had caught her. She followed the bronze hand to it's origin, one of the 4 formerly inactive titanic robots - a bronze and silver colossus, heavily armored and yet somehow still with a more slim, almost feminine figure than the others. It hadn't moved it's head - if it was 'looking' at them like the others it was only at the bottom of it's gaze. The fall had hurt, because falling on metal, but she wasn't dead so no complaints. Normally, this would be the point where she assessed the situation logically - there must be a pilot right? - but that was taking a bit of a back burner. Satomi took a shaky attempt at a deep breath, and glanced at the other two - seemed alright. Then aroun- oh shit those other Evas are looking at them, they weren't doing that before. She then looked over to the command deck, and saw the admiral and her father and the other people there staring at them. She attempted a weak sort of wave. She'd be concerned about how metaphorically dead she was from her dad but at least she wasn't actually dead.
