Izumi does not respond. Not verbally at least. She simply takes the bottle and gets to work getting less depressingly sober.

"I get back. I see a team mate confess to an assassination attempt. I see another threaten her and confess to a cop. I had to shoot the cop, and take her clip for my efforts. What the fuck do you think?" Izumi enters the van.

With a groan, Izumi collapses into cover. "The curse will wear off in a twenty minutes' time, and one way or another, by the end of today, you won't hear of us again." And with that she flies out the exit amidst the explosions, if the bullets get uncomfortably close, she'll abruptly change path and fly out a nearby window. ((Storm Shepherd's Veil grants dodge and flight. One of Izumi's utilities allows her to dive through windows easily without injury.))

When the woman dropped the glass, Izumi was already reaching for her Procyon. A bolt of inky darkness roils forth from the barrel, fast as a bullet with intent to catch the Detective before she could say where she was. If it hits, Josephine and Josephine alone would see it, a flash of light, bright, brighter than the sun, for but an instant, a feeling of heat, of rain, and then, loneliness. The radio shall fall silent, and her words shall be lost to this world where everyone else now seems so distant. It was a curse, a curse forged from the essence of disaster, and shaped in mimicry of a mark that once had meaning somewhere at the end of the last millennium. ((Black Squall on Detective Josephine. If it hits, it won't do damage but will cut her off from outside assistance for its duration.)) "We got an exit plan?"

A quiet sigh. God damn, finally at a bar and she can't even afford to drink, right when she needs to too. "Really, this is what you call 'justice'? Does it look like justice to you? Look like you're serving the public interest here? Because all I see, is vengeance." She tugs at her collar, straightening the shirt, her voice growing bitter. "Tell me, you've got informants as well don't you? Criminals who cut a deal for leniency, commuted sentences, that sort of thing. Go light on an enforcer, a thief, a two-bit gangbanger, catch a kingpin. You know why we do that? Because what do you think serves the public better? Avenging a crime that's already committed? Or halting far worse crimes that we can still stop?" Slowly, she walks over, placing herself between the pair. "Right now, she helping us. She's helping is against people doing godknowswhat, people who if we don't stop, are going to cause a lot more death than her. Arrest her and then what? We're a man down, probably make a lot of noise, and all this-" She gestures broadly "gets even harder. And for what? Do you think she's gonna have the time to go murder another senator now? Think we'll run into one breaking into a secure facility? Or maybe when we're getting out of there and out of this damn world? The damage is done you can go court martial her or something when we get back, but until then, the best thing we can do for the public, for the people in this world, is to stop the people who'll be fucking it all up, and I've got the feeling, we'll need all the help we can get."

The response to Halley's call and Edmond's message was the same: "Understood." That was it. What else was she meant to do? Ask what happened? Ask how the fuck it happened? She could, but quite frankly, she didn't want to know. She already had enough reasons to drink, thank you very much, especially now that members of their infiltration team are apparently wanted men, which, last time she checked, isn't considered best practice. Really, let's face it, this was no longer an infiltration, it's going to be an all out assault. Not exactly ideal she thought, a faint grin spreading across her lips. Not ideal, but not unwelcome either. Izumi heads to the meeting point. ((I don't suppose it's possible to retroactively purchase a bullet-proof outfit?))

"Thanks." Opening up the browser, Izumi searches up news websites, skimming through their current headlines and examining the clothes worn by the people in them. She needed to know where they were, what people would care to discuss, and above all, how they acted. Next came searching up magic, starting off with any unfamiliar terms that appeared in the articles and branching out from there. To anyone watching, and really someone had to be watching, it would look like she was undergoing a link free-fall rather than say, conspiring to break into a secure facility. The next order of business would be to get distracted by clickbait and fact check them, might dig up something that while not recent enough for the news, could provide some insight into how this world worked, and how many bullets it'd take to kill a man here.

[IC] TFW Chapter 1: Sloth
Empiricist replied to Shamitako's topic in Unofficial Official RP Club's General
Exile - Team Mega Star Cannon - Hallway "Hiyee~!" She gave a jaunty wave, unperturbed if not oblivious to the sudden change in atmosphere. "I like the new outfit! It really suits you!" She turns to face the rest of her allies "So, what'd I miss? Was the fight fun? Are we going somewhere?" she cocks her head, smile frozen on her face as if she forgot to say something, two gears appearing and turning above her head "Will there be cake?" "Fedora's still stuck! Said he wanted me to get backup before I murdered him! There's some fancy symbol stuff here, they can connect to each other and make magic stuff appear! I think the symbols lose power after being used since you can mess with them and their connections without anything happening." -
Izumi carefully inspects the briefcase of grenades, before following Solomon out. "Can I borrow your phone?"

Izumi Kurosawa A curt nod. "Sounds like it. And putting down inhuman monsters does sound like what that pin-cushion wanted us to do." She turns to the man "And once we get that book, how much will they be willing to do to retrieve it? Just hunt us down? Or are they going to disappear everyone in this entire bar?"

Dimitri Kuznetsov, 34/38 con = 4; res = 2 + 5; dex = 0; itl = 8 + 1; str = 6; syn = 0; "Looks like you've had it worse than me, here, let me help..." Wiping his hand across his injured cheek, Dimitri skirts around Prei towards Eon, a pale substance now sealing the wound. Taking out a few large patches, he presses them against his comrade's wounds, the sealing gel hissing into the cuts and scrapes. It was at this moment that those same patches began to hiss within hardsuits of the two natives, as did the one hidden inside a black longcoat, the inside a distinguished dress uniform, the one affixed to the inside of a skirt pointing to a skinned knee, and the one affixed to a certain suit of armor. He'll admit it, that last one, he wasn't too proud of, but if it works, it works. Sealing Gel II: Heal all party members for INT (=9) HP

Izumi Kurosawa "What's the plan then? If they don't know something's wrong while we're going in, the moment we take that book, everything's going to hell. And I don't like the sound of taking on an entire building." Especially not more often than I need to. This job, it's the kind with 'bad news' written all over it. That and 'vendetta' with a side serving of 'collateral damage'. Point is it doesn't sound like something I'd agree to if I had the choice. Ha, like I get that many choices these days.

Dimitri Kuznetsov "Alright, let's talk." He nods to the engineer "I'd like to hear your opinion first. If this were back home, I'd be all for just waiting and not fighting battles we need not fight, especially when what we're after sounds like the kind of tool to neutralize the intruders for us, but, this ain't home. Hell, it looks like Hell to me even, and whatever I'm assuming could be wrong here, dead wrong." Spinning on his heel, Dimitri gestures broadly to the others "I say we listen to her-" a quick point to Hiroki "-and her." another quick point to the engineer. "Hear what they have to say, because they know this place better than us, and I for one prefer not being on fire or ambushed. Same for you all as well? All on the same page here? Good!" "Cronos, got any intel you can lend us? Footage? Descriptions? Combat data?"

Exile - Team Mega Star Cannon - Cage of Fire Popping her head back beyond the corner, Exile examines the bars for half a second before "On it!" Bringing the "Not Merlin" sign back above her head, she begins skipping back down the hall. -

Exile - Team Mega Star Cannon - Cage of Fire "Maybe~" Sticking her head out from around the corner, Exile summons and phase-shifts a small bolt of darkness, aimed at the lowermost bar, then a snowball, and then, a spray of dry ice, keeping a, careful eye- well, some manner of eye at least, probably not too careful, at the bar's behavior at the points of impact. -
Izumi Kurosawa; The Psychedelic Pirate She nods and enters "Thanks, I'll be sure to drop by when I have the chance."

[IC] TFW Chapter 1: Sloth
Empiricist replied to Shamitako's topic in Unofficial Official RP Club's General
Exile - Team Mega Star Cannon - Cage of Fire "Ooh, tricky~!" It is at this point, where a the scribble vanishes and blade of light appears inside the cage, its point aimed for the lowermost rune at a shallow angle. It phase-shifts into existence and launches into its mark as Exile quickly ducks behind the corner. She pops her head back in a few seconds later. If it's done nothing, she then summons another blade and drives it down into the central rune. -

Exile - Team Mega Star Cannon - Cage of Fire "Nope~ Merlin was screaming and a girl in a mech was trying to punch her in the face!" She pauses for a moment, as if realizing what she had just said, but... "Now, let's try getting you out~!" Striding forwards she stares at the black symbols closer before "Oh!" Her eyes sparkle as she quickly hops backwards towards the corner again, a light bulb briefly popping up above her. Exile attempts to place illusory scribbles atop the lowermost black symbol, as to blot it out and Phase-Shift them into reality. -
Izumi Kurosawa; Outside The Psychedelic Pirate She sighs, whether in irritation or relief, not even she could tell, she drops her voice, leaning back in a posture that came more, naturally. "Yes because there are oh so many tight-laced people dressed like this." She shakes her head. "Alright look, I clearly know the words, you really want me to do the whole song and dance from the top, or should I just go?"
