Rory nods before gesturing in a way that says "You have a point" before speaking himself. "That's true, of course, it could also be that your a species that imitates the children of a different species specifically to prey on them. After all, it'd help with both avoiding being attacked, and if it didn't work the thing attacking would either have a harder time catching smaller prey or would not expect an adult's power from them."
-
Rory had been a bit annoyed by the fairy stealing her stuff, but as it ended fairly quickly and no one showed much concern about the child that just exploded, she didn't say much until they landed. But seeing as there was down time, and Rory still felt concerned about the fairy, she decided to poke Masako since she's from this world. "So uh, that kid that stole my dust... they're fine right?"
-
Rory rolls her eyes at that. "Yeah, what kind of place would people willingly work under those conditions... Oh wait, they wouldn't. There's some reason that the guard has to work here, use your head... Only reason they would willing do so is if dying isn't much of a problem for them... Which actually might be an option as well, shit."
-
Rory shrugged. "Could be that it's time for the guard to change. Normally you'd do it around the evenings and such, but it makes a lot of sense to do it when there's plenty of light out, so that intruders have the best chance of getting caught... So let's hope that they're gone because of some weird magic rock and not because they were clever and are looking to catch us out." Rory finishes with a smile that doesn't look all that happy.

Aquila frowns at Freya trying to reason with the nercronerd, but allows her to speak, and instead turns to help up the spider guy. He'd have to complement him on the emblem later, kind of reminded him of his own tattoo.

Aquila jumps a bit at the sudden entrance of a bad guy, who apparently was who they were looking to begin with. He's quick to shake it off though, shoving his way through the crowd to assist the man in red and blue, pulling out his shield as he decides to distract the wizard. "Hey, Moose Lard! I'd say I'm a hero, why don't you test that idea now!?"

After a brief look of minor surprise, Rory shrugs. Well, the nerds were talking boring magic stuff, so at least getting ranted at was fun. Occasionally the huntress would add additional flaws for the bird to tear into, though their expression clearly said they didn't care about what was being said. Rory was actually so invested in the ranting that they didn't note the witch's completion of the ritual beyond making a motion for her to return the canister, which they would promptly put away.
-
Rory, while not quite trusting this Marisa character entirely still, figured that the one offering to help her knew better than she did about whether or not this was a trap. So, the hunter decided to help them out with acquiring the stone. So she tapped the bird on the shoulder and pointed in the opposite direction. "Oh look, a suspicious footprint!"
-
Rory reaches into one of her pockets, now that sense of danger has been dispelled, and pulls out a metal canister colored red. "I got this stuff. Should work for your purpose right?" Too demonstrate he dumps some of the contents, a red dust, into his palm and with a slight look of concentration it bursts into flame.

[IC] Devil May Cry: Scattered Tomb

DVS quickly rolled to his feet, giving the two other hunters a thumbs up before standing and going back over to the blood cursed he was fighting. With a malicious grin he stomps down on it's face, taking a moment to grind his foot on his nose for good measure and finally stomping down on it's head for real, intending to finish it. -
Rory took a moment to think. Clearly this girl is a witch, which means that she should have experience with safely dealing with cursed objects right? So it doesn't make sense for her to have just grabbed it without any precautions, which means that there must be something else. "Wait, I don't think that SHE is the one that found it. I mean look at her, that thing was clearly cursed or something and she's definitely a witch. So it makes no sense for her to just grab it without thinking it was safe... Therefore, I think someone tricked her into taking it... And the uh... purple chick. The one that threw us around a lot. Anyway, if she knows we're from another world and can take us here, someone from another world can obviously bring themselves here to raise hell. So it's probably that."
-
Rory sighs but nods at Marisa's statement before turning to the large fairy. "Well, there you go. It's the stone, that's how it works in the movies and stuff right?" He turns back to Marisa with a smile. "Well uh... what kind of name is "Marisa"... your rock there was probably evil if I had to hazard a guess. Most likely it brain washed you and made you evil for a bit, given you were a right bitch a moment ago. That said, you did attack us and my friends aren't as forgiving as me I'd imagine." Rory points a thumb towards Empi and Isobel. Not really the scariest people there but Marisa obviously doesn't remember the fight and she didn't need to know that.

Leaving the room with the weapons cache, the group would find that the adjacent room is of course unchanged. Seeing as this is now a dead end, there would be only two options for where to go next, both leading from the room with the corpse. They could either go straight through on the path to the armory, or they could go back up through the hallway they initially came from to go directly to the labs and hopefully their goal.

trespassers [IC] ALTEREDNU
kj1225 replied to Hal Henderics's topic in Trespassers of the Multiverse: Gaiden^2's General
Arminius nods at the child's statement. At least she was being encouraging? ... No, that wasn't really better. But seeing as at least Rachel humored the request, Arminius chose to just set the dummy back up before going to move on. -
Rory blew off her fist with a smirk. It wasn't necessary to do so of course, the blow hadn't even hurt, thanks to his aura providing a shield and also her own body's semblance naturally hardening her to damage like that. After looking around a moment to see if everyone saw how cool that was, Rory dropped out of the air, landing in the classic superhero pose before standing to dust herself off and approach the witch. The faunus knelt just out of arms reach of Marisa as they tried to get a look at her face now. "So, what was that comment about taking our stuff?"
-
Seeing the signs that the witch was nearly unconscious, and at this point being quite done with dealing with her constant dodging and lasers, Rory let out a frustrated groan as she tucked her gun lance between her legs and took careful aim at the witch. Or at least as careful aim as he normally has, as half a second latter the faunus rockets off, a jet of air propelling her forward, directly at the witch with her hand raised in a fist. "Hope you have dental insurance!" Is all the warning Marisa gets before an angry snake woman's fist collides with her jaw with a mighty thwack!
