To get to the point, I was wondering what would happen if a pokemon uses a move with double STAB. For example on the Electric Terrain. Surf deals additional electric damage. What would happen if Lanturn used Surf on this field? (a water/electric type) Would the move gain a double STAB bonus?

Yeah, I'm in the middle of my exam period. Perfect timing, Jan. I'm currently studying, while reading about all those people having fun playing V10 and all those topics regarding some sidequests, which I don't want to read because of spoilers. I've downloaded V10 and I'm only one click away from playing, but I know I can't. It's sad to be me...

Ow oops, you're right. I thought Pure Power only boosted the attack stat by 1,2x or something like that. So, Medicham is a good alternative for Gallade and I think that they're just as good as each other.

Medicham doesn't have a really high Attack stat and it's quite fragile, so I think Gallade is the better choice

I have used Gallade once and it didn't disappoint me, but like you said: it isn't the best pokemon. I've used this moveset: Swords Dance - use this one time and you can almost OHKO everything Psycho Cut - STAB Close Combat - STAB Night Slash - coverage against any Ghost types If you switch him in when the opponent is using a special attacker, he has a good chance to set up Swords Dance and after that it hits really hard. Conclusion: worthy of consideration

In my Ice Mono, Kiki was the easiest gymleader. Jynx+Lovely Kiss+Fieldboosted Psychic managed to destroy all 6 pokemon withouth even taking damage. Shelly was really annoying to beat, because I only had three Ice types at that moment.
