I see that the use of healing items inside battles is not blocked. does anyone know how to change it to be like the older versions?

In terms of game difficulty, this version equivalence for hard mode is choosing classic at the start and changing the battle to set mode? should I do something else? like is the no item in battle rule included in the classic mode? thanks
