trespassers [IC] ALTEREDNU
StormLord replied to Hal Henderics's topic in Trespassers of the Multiverse: Gaiden^2's General
Having barred the door for the next few moments Ignia turned, planning on pulling the girl upstairs off of the workbench she had been toying with, only to hear Lucine yelp and meet eye to eye with a lizard heading down one of the ramps. "What did I say? Ignore the lab. It's not worth the trouble, but nooo! We had to listen to the madman rambling about dead gods and conspiracy theories." She watched the lizard, but otherwise mostly ignored it as she went up stairs to check on Lucine and Cure any wounds she might've sustained. -

Ignia jumped as the creature slammed against the door, cracking it open some. "HEY! We've got a hostile!" She started moving as she shouted to the other two still on the top level, in her right hand bronze and gold motes of light gathered up coalescing into a key. Ignia attempts to magically lock the Lab Door. She does not have a specialized trick, her Syn is 6. -
~~~~~~ 2nd District ~~~~~~ Takumi steps into the hotel to find themselves at the end of a long hallway to the right. There is a small simple desk with an empty chair and no one around to attend to it. The desk has a several magazines, a small stack of papers, and a bell. The hallway to the right continues on with old fashioned electric lights and four brightly colored doors on the left side. About two thirds of the way down the hall there is a very narrow and steep staircase leading up to a second floor. ~~~~~~ Dark Alley ~~~~~~ Tod squirms a bit in Leo's arms, trying to brush off more of the paint, but otherwise doesn't try to escape.
Ignia peers into the elevator shaft, noticing plenty of cudgeled tubes and wires, but no actual elevator cables or even escape ladder for that matter. She sighed and pressed her fingers to the bridge of her nose. She glances back at Jun. "Looks like the elevator was built like the rest of this place and fall apart on the way down. It looks like most of the lift made it in one piece so hopefully the other two aren't hurt. Once you two are done I think I've got a way to get us down there." -
Takumi finds the water is still pretty murky, a sickly green color, but he can make out the bottom now along with the several nozzles and intake drain. Looking at it, there isn't anything blocking the drain, but for some reason water isn't being pumped in to cycle it out before it can go nasty. Perhaps there is a pump house nearby? Tod rubs against Leo, trying to smear off the paint on his head and face. The dog has a tag that matches Tod's and says "Copper" on it. The address information on the tags has been scratched out.
-
As Leo peels back the can another gush of red paint comes out, the piece of twisted cloth falls away, and he sees not the face of a cat as he was expecting, but a fox. Seeing this the dog sits, and the lays down with a decided huff. He also notices that the fox is wearing a collar with tag caked in red paint, smearing it off he can read the name "Tod" on it. Mirri doesn't feel any malicious or dangerous intent in the force near her.
-
As Mirri steps forward the creature doesn't seem to flinch away so much as generally move away from her footsteps. She notices that its "head" has strange markings on it and it seems to be spewing the "blood" from around its neck. Satomi flies forward, landing on the pavement mostly standing and opposite Mirri. The creature stops as she clatters to the ground, it jumps back rolling with surprise and revealing red soaked paws. The dog for its part is torn simultaneously between fear of Mirri's glowing stick and a need to chase the small creature, it comes to the indecision to stand there eagerly glancing between the creature and Mirri. And then Leo comes up and a glow envelops the creature, it floats upward slowly, kicking a bit as it struggles and more glistening red oozes from around its neck.
-
~~~~~~ Dark Alley ~~~~~~ As the dog and creature get closer and closer Mirri, Leo, and Law hear some splashing before around the dimly lit corner, the see it. The creature, slightly larger than a cat with a metallic cylindrical head, the water behind it runs red and it's fur is matted down and glistening. Something long, tattered, and filthy drags along behind it, caught around its neck. The dog gives chase, howling and trying to snap at the thing trailing behind the creature. ~~~~~~ 2nd District ~~~~~~ Takumi takes the stairs down to ground level. The only sounds he an hear are the click of his shoes on the stone, some distant barking, and his own breathing. Approaching the fountain he see that it is indeed still. The centerpiece seems to be a decorative floral mosaic surrounded by stone carvings in the shape of a greko-roman building. Three small glowing bell-shaped fixtures rest on the edges of the stagnant pond where a thick algae slime has grown up in it. There are several benches nearby, and arches under the stone pathway to the left and right.
-
Mirri pulls herself and Law up to stand on a ledge near the aqueduct bridge. She finds herself staring down a short stretch of pavement with a water channel cut in the middle, leading to tunnel that curves to the right and gently downwards. She hears movement approaching from up ahead and the dog's barks much more loudly, though she doesn't feel any immediate danger. From the top of the ledge Law quickly constructs a pad that seems to vent blueish energy that accelerates the user upward.

~~~~~~ Dark Alley ~~~~~~ The rest of the crew catching up with Ena sees the toppled boxes, they look like they've been knocked over pretty recently. They also hear the barking echoing out of the building and...from above? It sounds like it's coming from up and to the right as well, a bit behind one of the houses. ~~~~~~ 2nd District ~~~~~~ Moving into the 2nd District Takumi finds it has more of an eerie feeling to it, a stillness he can't quite shake. Most of the buildings here are dark or only dimly lit with the only two 'bright' buildings being the hotel with electric lights, and the clocktower. The area seems to mostly consist of one long courtyard with raised walkways around it, being overlooked from the far side by a large white stone clocktower. A brick hotel building covers most of the left side of the courtyard while closed several shops and other buildings surround the other sides. A street runs from the courtyard in front of the clocktower and right, while a narrow alley between two building on the right breaks the walkway surrounding the courtyard roughly halfway to the clocktower. The fountain is technically directly in front of Takumi, just on ground level backed against the wall created by the walkway he's standing on. There are steps down from the walkway both on the right where it is broken by the alley, and on the left centered in front of the hotel.
-
Ena continues down the alley and turns at the opening to the left to see mostly more of the same. About twenty or thirty feet down from the mouth of the second alley there is a single stone pillar holing what seems to be a aqueduct moving between two earthwork structures, one on either side. At the end of the alley there is another lamp illuminating some toppled boxes and the entrance to a stone building on the right. Ena can hear the dog's baying echoing loudly from somewhere deeper in the building.
-
Ena doesn't notice anything new in the immediate alley that Mirri hasn't already, she does still hear the dog and can distinctly pick out several things scurrying around. Takumi notices the mention of something stuck in the clocktower, Someone mentions seeing a light on in the "Old Dalmatian House" and is asking for someone to go check on it. He finds a complaint that the fountain in the 2nd District has stopped flowing, presumably something has plugged it up. Lastly he finds some kind of correspondence note buried pretty far that mentions meeting "you" at the balcony in the 3rd District that connects to the rooftops of the 2nd District.
Cell rummages around in his head before pulling out a glob of nasty looking greenish goop and slapping it against a nearby tree. A small orb with a indent on one side "floated" to the surface of the glob and rotated around, seeming to scan the area while Cell moved to lay down again for the night.
Mirri notices several long sets of ruts dug into the gravel in this area, along with evidence of multiple people passing through the area at least somewhat regularly. She finds signs of small rodent activity, but nothing much larger than a cat. She notices some rustling from the rooftops above and quickly snaps her attention up to catch an owl landing on a clothes line. Somewhere down the alley around the corner, a dog starts barking.
"Well sounds like you've already found ways to busy yourselves. I'd best get going, don't want to be late." Frigus started walking towards the largest door, the one behind the group when they entered the world. "I'm sure I'll be back to lend a pair of hands again soon." He pulled open the door to reveal a swirling portal behind it and gave a wave back to the group before stepping through. The door slowly drifted to a close behind him. Leo, Mirri, and anyone else who came along would find the dark alley to be about what they expected, a poorly lit alleyway. Puddles of scummy water collected here and there, to the left of the path in there was a bit of a dead end with a collection area full of trash cans and crates. To the right the alley wavered between buildings, becoming narrower or wider here and there. It seemed to open up to another path on the left a hundred or so feet down then end not far after. The only sources of light back here were some glow from the 1st District, a single glowing lamp at the other end of the alley, and of course the stars. All seems quiet so far.
-
"Well if you're going to be working on the odd jobs you should definitely take this." Frigus pulls out a furled up piece of paper and hands it to Leo. "This place is a bit maze-like, the whole thing is filled with paths that double back and dead-end alleys." Unrolling the paper Leo would find several copies of a map for the town. Reading it shows the group is currently in the 1st District. The 2nd and 3rd Districts are reachable by two doors from this courtyard area, and the 4th and 5th Districts are down the Dark Alley by the cafe. The Cave is marked as being off the 3rd District. "If you complete any of the jobs just go talk to whoever is in the Accessory shop at the time and they should be able to pay you if anything was left with the request."
Ignia wrinkled her nose at the smell, kelp wasn't the most pleasant thing around. She took a few steps back and then walked behind Lucine at the workbench. "Once you finish up there we should catch up with the others." After that she headed back down stairs and pressed the elevator button to call it back up. -
At Tsubasa's comment of decapitation Cell happily wrests his own head free of his shoulders with a bit of a pop sound. He dropped it back down with a thud and gestured to Travis as if to agree.
"Thanks." Frigus takes the small brick and looks it over nodding a few times. "It's a Flowmotion assistor. Some of us Keyblade wielders use Flowmotion spells for greater mobility. This lets you do it either without knowing the magic, or if you want to save every bit of it you can. They're pretty valuable." He hands it back to Law. Leo finds the bulletin board and gives it a once over. Perhaps disappointingly some of these jobs are incredibly mundane, such as cleaning gutters or weekly garbage runs. He finds a few that might be the party's speed though. First is someone complaining about one of the town's power lines being exposed in the 3rd District and worn through again. There is an anonymous conversation about rumors of a "monster" attacking people in the alleyway leading to the 4th District. He finds a note complaining about "Something lodged in the clock tower" in the 2nd District. A note asking if anyone else has been hearing weird noises coming from "the cave". Leo figures he could find more if he tried, but this is a decent amount as it is. Most of the jobs don't offer much, if any specified reward.
"I don't know about dungeons, but there's a bulletin board around the side of the Accessory shop, they just added it and there are a bunch of odd jobs posted." He gestures to the path winding around the right of the central building. "Also, don't worry about waking people, everyone keeps weird hours here because it's always this time." Stepping into the item shop Mirri hears a bell ring as the door opens, causing the old man to bolt awake. "HUH! What? Oh, uhh hello. Can I uhh help you find anything?" Mirri finds several medicines including healing potions, something called "Ether", and "Elixers". She finds a number of types of tents and "instant" cottages. She finds a number of staves, hammers, shields, and swords some of which have very in depth designs or are clearly magical. (More detailed list can be generated on request)
