    Day 1 start. The blackness of the island faded as a dim dirty sun rose and gave off equally dim rays of sunlight over the land. A horn was heard as Charon came back to the island. “Sorry, apparently someone got on the wrong boat. Now, L’belle, I apologize for my error, but we best hurry before any uneccesary violence envelops you. As the first rays of sunshine hit the island, a voice cried out. Psychic Bean Sheep L’belle is the treestump Day 1 has started and lasts 48 hours. You cannot abstain. No one died last night. If this happens in night 2, then someone will die. Newt 2. Walpurgis 3. We need your help, but a few of my flock mates disagree with it. They think you’re going to betray us and don’t want to lose another chance and feel more pain.” @walpurgis @Psychic Bean Sheep The blast of frost from Nadine hit the bird and it shuddered from the cold and started to shake the ice of his feet. “Moving you to a safer spot. We need you alive to help us. We knew you wouldn’t accept normally, no friend of that halfling would. I wish I didn’t have to attack. Just following orders.” He spoke as he swung his shortsword at Tan, but it ended just short of Tan as he overestimated how far he could move with the freezing ray. @Amine Chankey3ft7 @Yash As Jeanna fails to sweep the bird’s legs out, Lynsal stumbles as he runs and slams his quarterstaff into the bird, who falls back out of suprise and is promptly smacked unconcious by the elf’s hand. It let out a loud scream as it fell Gael’s Kenku drew his bow and was about to shoot the freshly released pale rogue, but his comrades scream stopped him. He turned and fired at Jeanna instead(attack roll 17) dealing 4 piercing damage. He let out a loud caw as he was assulted by an Eldritch Blast a mere second later. He stumbled back. @Cronos5010 Hearing the paladin’s shout, three of the birds spun with to stop the intruder. Two of their swords bounced off the armor, but the third’s blade found a chink in the armor and dealt 8 damage. The the three then ran out of range, the third one, carrying Yisen, got a fierce strike in the back that almost sent him to the ground, dealing 8 damage. @Newt @Cataline @Yash @Alistair As Venus’s kidnapper slipped out the hallway door, three Kenku’s came in, having heard the calls given by their comrades. They took aim on three different targets. The first shot went wide and missed Gael, the second, aimed at Lynsal, lacked enough power to make it across the room. The third shot though, aimed almost dead straight towards Desmond, hit him and dealt 5 damage. “We don’t wish to hurt you, but we will if peace does not come. You have shown yourselves to be aggressive, knocking down our kin. This could be our last chance at mercy.” Crevasse, patched up the poor Kenku from bleeding out, who stopped bleeding out and his breathing turned to a steadier pace.

    Night 0 start A long canoe, hundreds of feet long, was rowed down the deep black river by the ghostly pale souls at the oars. Sitting at the head was a bony rigid hooded figure known as Charon. As the boat hit the shore, he stood and stepped unto the land. “Tokens. Pass your fate tokens, your luck dollars, your chance wrappers, whatever you have. Pass it up for a chance at revival. Charon suddenly had dozens of coins pressed into him and somehow managed to keep track of it all. “Your chance for revival is out there.” He waved a bony hand towards the drab rocky beach. “Now, go find it. And try not to die first.”

    @Psychic Bean Sheep Struggle and twist in the Kenku’s grasp as he did provided no release from sleep. One would think his snoring would be enough to wake himself up @Yash @Cronos5010 Lynsal staggered forward for a moment and grabbed his quarterstaff, which hit the bird despite the seemingly shaky movements that delivered the blow. The monk’s palm missed as the bird collapsed on the deck of the cabin with a shrill cry. Kaeso’s swing of the Morningstar connected with the bird as it fell. The morningstar slammed into the bird’s body, killing the poor unfortunate bird. @Newt @Cataline @walpurgis @Megagun @Venus @Amine Chankey3ft7 @Alistair The Kenku paused for the briefest of brief moments before speaking in a deep gutteral orcish voice, “Truc—“ It got cut off as Crevasse’s hex sent it to the ground, Unconcious. A magic missile darted out of the room and struck the poor Kenku who had just been kicked by Jeanna. The bird stumbled back and dropped Jeanna, before rushing towards her. The sword clanged uselessly off her armor. Gael’s Kenku simply let out an odd laugh and tightened its grip on him. Creature’s Kenku looked extremely confused as it continues to carry the light girl. Zarrick’s bird was silent for a moment, before speaking in a feminine elvish tone, “Sanctuary.”

    Round 2 @Cronos5010 The Kenku staggered back from the hit, his robe now torn in multiple spots. Feathers fell around him as he walked. He let out a loud caw that could be heard through the hall. He charged, only for a simple sidestep to send him past both Kaeso and Lynsal. He was backed into a corner. @Cataline @Newt @walpurgis The Kenku paused as he heard the call for a second before resuming his attacks. His swipe pinged uselessly off of Crevasse’s armor, as he was still somewhat unfocused after taking a hit from Desmond’s attack. He basically walked into Nadine’s fire bolt afterwards. Thr bird barely manages to pull himself away from it before he took the full force of it, only getting minor burns. The plan was falling apart. “Please. Please, just help me.” The rest of the Kenku either continued walking away while carrying sleeping bodies, or were a bit unnerved in how the bodies didn’t try to break out.

      Well a warm freeze would be like, a bunch of snow/ice, then warm weather so it all melts and becomes horrible dirty slush right? 

      a cold heatwave makes no sense. unless you literally just mean a cold snap, in which case, that.

    The Kenku’s continued to carry most of their query through the hall, and promptly placed a clawed hand over their mouths. One Kenku tried to slap Jeanna, who he saw move. The ackwardness of the angle made the blade miss. The same thing happened to the Kenku holding “Creature.” That Kenku recoiled as it took 6 radiant damage. In the room’s one Kenku found itself somewhat amused to see a Paladin praying, and, out of respect, chose to wait until it attacked to strike. In Crevasse’s room, the Kenku lept forward at surprising speeds with his sword ready for stabbing. Crevasse side stepped again. The Kenku predicted this and used a foot to alter the angle just slightly. 7 damage was dealt.

    As most of the party bid each other rest and went off to slumber, soft footsteps could be heard. The watchful eye’s of multiple Kenku observed the few wanderers. Eventually, after everyone entered a room, they struck. Quickly and quietly, the flock of Kenku snuck through the hall like shadows. Each pulled out a key and quietly unlocked the door. In three of the rooms, the birds found nothing. The birds grabbed the sleeping occupants of all of the rooms. All but two. In one room, Crevasse sprang back as she felt the door push open. In another, Kaeso was suprised to see a Kenku enter the room. In a different room a chair hit the ground and fell over. A Kenku jabbed his shortsword forward, but Crevasse expected it and expertly sidestepped. In another room, a shortsword struck uselessly at Kaeso’s armor. Roll for initiative

    The loud ringing of a bell could be heard throughout the tavern. A Kenku, maybe the same one from earlier, walked over towards them. It scooped up the copious bottles and mugs and took a fistful of gold from the halfling. “The tavern is now closed. Please retire to your rooms or roam the ship. Preferably the first. We will be arriving in Swellbreeze early in the morning.” The Kenku escorted the party and halfling to the hallway holding their rooms. “Have a nice, Safe, night.”

    “Oh, ok then.” The Kenku walked back to the bar.

    The Kenku visibly frowned, which was a weird gesture due to its beak. “What can I get you as a drink. The tavern’s closing soon and I don’t want a patron to miss out. This goes for all of you who haven’t drank as well.” The halfling, now nearing his 6th bottle, spoke. “Forrrr where to start in... in... in Wellklear... issss... uh. Hermit gnome..... Shashu. He might.... know things... Maybe poison.... maybe demons.... maybe nothing.... Shashu might knows.... he lives near.... springs...”

    “Underaged. Oh, I completely forgot. I shall certainly get some tea!” The Kenku took “Creature”’s bottle and the tea cup. He came back a few minutes later with multiple cups of tea. “One Matcha tea.” The Kenku amusingly spoke this in Desmond’s voice. The bird passed out to to those who haven’t drunk their bottle yet.

    Alaren grabbed Nadine’s drink. “Oh well, your loss. The house brew is good, yannow. These birds are masters at this stuff. I heard they take this stuff seriously. Apparently a colleague said that the drinks were a matter of pride. They use it to measure self worth or something, so it makes them feel somewhat worthless I heard. Again, this is all just what s friend informed me of.” A kenku walked overto the table and glanced at the drinks. He noted that Desmond passed his drink over to Lynnshal. “Is everything alright? I can get you something else if house brew is not to your taste. Maybe something non alcoholic? Some folks simply don’t like alcohol and being drunk.” The Kenku’s tone and accent changed massively throughout his question. Occasionally it was a feminine elf voice or a rough dwarvish tone.

    “This is actually a somewhat decent group. We have a do-gooder, a cat, a sorcerer, a bookworm, a simple man, a creature, a sailor, a bard, an elf, an alcoholic, and a sellsword. Not too shabby. I know I certainly don’t mind the sellsword. The name’s Alaren. Clearwell is on the coast, in case it wasn’t obvious. The springs are a few miles to the southwest of it. It was a fishing village that grew when word spread that the water in the springs could heal. I never bought into it myself, but I know a lot of people did.” A Kenku brought over 12 drinks in fany bottles. The halfling grabbed one and drank up. He passed the others around. “Drink up, travelers. A toast to adventure we should have.”

    The tavern built into the body rocked side to side as it moved through the water. The wooden walls were decorated just right to give a homey sort of feel. Kenku’s rushed around delivering drinks and a bard played a merry tune on a barrel. A halfling sat at a table, receiving constant orders for more drinks. The halfling chortled merrily as he took another long sip from his bottle. The sway of the ship, The Falcon’s Edge, didn’t effect him as he continued to drink and recieve more drinks. The halfling barely seemed to notice when rum almost spilled on his fancy suit he was wearing. The halfling took a swig from the now empty bottle and glared at it as if it was the bottle’s fault for being empty. He set the bottle down and looked at the ragtag group sitting at the table. He took a swig from a new bottle, which was provided by a Kenku, before addressing the eleven. “Welcome to the Safe Travel Society, where we are dedicated to... safe travels. I’ll spare you all my usual spiel, so we can still have time for merrymaking. The basis of this is that, we send you out into the wilds, you tame the wilds, and get paid. We get safe trade routes in return. No work, no pay. We will send a messenger to check in and deliver pay occcasionslly. You all already should know this, you did sign up to join after all. Sometimes we might send you in a special mission, like this one. You might have to work as detectives. Anyway, you all know the story of Clearwell’s springs: Some magical magic sorcery happened or a priest blessed the pond. Regardless many people claim it performs miracles. But now it doesn’t. You get to find out why. You get a little adventure, side cash, travel, and maybe some other good things. Now, I expect you not to kill each other, but I don’t really know any of you. Feel free to let me know you. It might be wise to introduce yourself to your companions. At least then you know who’s name to curse when you get stabbed in the back.”
