  1. "Consider me interested in this Boundry then. I'll make sure to get any items you need to do your work. I will also make a schedule for the tests to begin, for anyone who wants to try their hand" Paylor replied to Kusuke, before turning to Arminius, "Aragami, not Origami. I wish we were simply dealing with living paper projects instead of what we have wandering around the world right now. But, yes, we do have several Ogretail in storage as we speak. All dead and preserved, of course, to keep their Oracle Cells from escaping. But, yes, they're stored in the 4th floor of the Science Division, right below us."
  2. "Boundry? I'm not sure what that is, exactly, but it would be easy to get a Terminal installed in this room. In fact, your current rooms should have one already prepared" Paylor replied, eyebrows rising in curiosity before moving on to Kusuke's other question, "As for God Eater testing, it depends on a number of things. First, we would have to run several genetic tests on you to see if you're compatible with a Bias Factor. If you are, then we can move to the second part, which is the actual compatibility test. I'll spare you the exact details, as it tends to deter aspiring God Eaters, but the test can be incredibly fatal, but at the same time, if you survive, you are able to join the ranks of God Eaters" Paylor explained, his voice not changing as he explained, "I would be willing to show you one of the compatibility tests later on. After all, we are gaining a New-Type God Eater in just a few days."
  3. Proditor himself remained completely silent, letting the others talk. Unlike Lucille, he didn’t even say his name. All he did was stare at the Director, Johannes was his name, with his own equally cold gaze, hidden beneath his helmet. The Director’s air and tone was not unknown to him, he had seen and dealt with it before in his long existence. In all of those instances, there was one choice he always picked that was correct. Do not trust them. For a few seconds, Johannes was utterly silent as he thought this over, before he slightly nodded, “I see… It explains much” he said, before glancing at Lindow, “I assume this is the same thing you’ve gotten?” he asked. In response, Lindow nodded, “In a different way, but yes. All things considered, it’s kind of the only explanation that I can think of” Lindow replied. “We are all in agreement then” the unnamed man in the room said, bringing his hand to his chin as he thought aloud, “So the multi-world theory proves to be true… Fascinating. Truly fascinating. This opens up millions of possibilities in the field…” he muttered, loud enough for the entire group to hear. With that, Johannes decided to speak once again, “You’ll have to excuse Dr. Paylor’s behavior, he tends to get distracted on these matters” he stated, letting his hands fall down to the desk, leaning back as he looked over the group thoughtfully. At that, Paylor snapped out of his thoughts, “Oh yes, my apologies for my behavior. Johannes, if I may give my thoughts here” he began, turning towards the Director, who merely shifted his eyes to look at Paylor, “As we do not have any reason to deny them, I would like to ask if these fine people can be placed under the jurisdiction of the Science Department. After all, we still require all the help we can get if we are to defeat the Aragami, and I do believe that the help of people from other worlds will greatly help our efforts” Paylor stated, turning back to the group with a smile. For a few, completely silent seconds, Johannes sat in thought, debating the entire thing in his head. Then, he nodded, “I see your point, Dr. Paylor. Until further notice, everything these people do will be filed under your supervision” he replied, turning his head to look at Paylor, who simply looked back with his own smile, “Of course, I’m sure you will have no problem” With that, Johannes turned his head back to the group, “For now Paylor, show them to the 5th Science Floor. It should have enough space for them to rest while I figure out what to do” he added. With a nod, Paylor walked forward, “Well then, follow me. I’m positive you will not be disappointed with what we have to offer” he said, walking through the group and opening the door, walking out of the office to lead the way to the 5th Science Floor. Just as the group began to leave, Lindow walked forward, stopping Harry from leaving for a second, “You asked for a Restore Pill. Here-” he said, pulling a small syringe with green liquid in it, “I’ve got enough to keep me stocked for months anyway. Losing one won’t matter to me” he said, patting Harry’s shoulder before walking past him, “Enjoy your time with Old Man Sakaki” Lindow said as he walked past. Soon enough, the group was led to another division of the building, overall much larger than the one the Director was in… And fairly empty. There was only 8 rooms, 7 of which were living quarters, while the 8th was a large, empty white room, seeming to be waiting for something to be placed. That room was where Paylor had led them, turning around to address the group, “Apologies for the empty space and lack of rooms. We cleared this place out months ago and haven’t figured out what to fill it with. 7 rooms was the max amount of living quarters we could fit when it was being used before” he said with a small shrug, “Nevertheless, as Head of the Science Division, I am prepared to requisition anything you would need to do your work with, and answer any of your questions. Afterall, it isn’t everyday one gets to work with knowledge from other worlds” he added.
  4. Freya watched as yet another spirit was pulled out, but instead of remaining around, they simply gave her thanks, before fading away. Being the Necromancer she was, she instantly knew that he chose to head off to the afterlife... Something that should never have been denied of him in the first place. It felt extremely good to see that happen though... Even if it made her a bit more angry at Urza for doing this. Oh, if she ever met him, she'd give him a what for by- And just as that train of thought began to get interesting, it was stopped when a sudden lurch of the ship caused Freya to shout in surprised, falling off balance and falling to the ground, rather hard. For a few seconds, Freya laid there, eyes shut, before she blinked them open, grabbing her staff and using it to help herself up, jumping back to her feet with its help and quickly brushing herself off, "I have absolutely no idea what happened there... Oh! Right!" she said, suddenly turning and walking up to the Demon summoner, "Uh, don't mean to sound sudden or anything Marisa, but are you still willing to trade me that jawbone- the giant one in your junk stuff, not your actual jawbone?" she asked, the folded piece of paper that had her notes suddenly in her hands as she held it up.
  5. “I would believe that, now that you are not limited by ‘CrossCode’s systems, you would be more versatile and free, if it was a form of simulation. I would simply suggest training and seeing what you can do. Perhaps attempting a spar with someone here” Proditor stated, giving any suggestion that he could think of. They needed the best that they could get from everyone, so having one fall behind due to being worried about their combat abilities was something they could not accept. At Kusuke’s questions, Lindow glanced at his God Arc, then back at Kusuke, “Well, we have state of the art computers at the Branch, and I’m sure that the Director would grant you access to one of them” he said, before looking at Soma, “Mind answering the other question for me?” he asked, watching Soma sigh, before talking, “God Arcs and God Eaters are linked by a bias factor, given to us when we go through a compatibility test. While it is life threatening, it ensures that we can use a God Arc without worrying about it turning on us while we’re using it. If we survive the test, that is” Soma replied bluntly. With that, Lindow nodded, turning back to the group, “I wouldn’t suggest trying to use Soma’s God Arc, or mine. They tend to get a bit pissy when they do that, and when they get pissy, they tend to get hungry” he stated, before the sounds of helicopter blades in the distance began to be heard, causing him to turn to its direction, bringing a hand to his ear as another beep came from it. After a few seconds of listening, Lindow nodded to himself, “Thanks for the report Hibari” he said, turning to the group, “Well, seems like the Director took notice of the delay and sent in evac. Not really much I can do, but seems he’d like to talk to you all. Probably wondering why a bunch of civilians not registered into Fenrir are walking around in Aragami territory” he said, just as the first helicopter appeared over the buildings, swerving around to head towards where the group stood as three more helicopters flew into view, one with a large clamp on the bottom of it. With that, Lindow shrugged, "Guess you're being forced to come along, sorry about that" Lindow said, just as the first helicopter touched down nearby, doors sliding open for them to get on, "And I'd hurry and get on one of them. Aragami tend to be attracted towards our evac when they come around" he added, turning around to head off towards one of the helicopters. For the most part, the time that followed was simply the group being herded into the helicopters, with one grabbing onto the bus that they used to extract it from Aragami territory. The helicopter ride itself wasn’t too interesting, with Lindow mostly relaxing in the passenger area while occasionally taking a smoke, while Soma (on a completely different helicopter) remained utterly silent, keeping an eye on the people on the helicopter with him. After only two minutes thought of flying, which was likely thankful for some residents (like Proditor), another city came into view, this one much more kept together than the City of Mercy was, with walls and emplacements set up to protect it. In the middle of the city was an extremely large building with a wolf-like symbol in the middle, and large helipads on the top, where the helicopters were currently heading towards. As said helicopters began their landing on the pads, two men walked out onto the roof from what appeared to be an elevator, heading for the helicopters. One was a tall, blonde haired individual wearing a white suit, with a purple outfit underneath, with a rather serious face as he stared at the helicopters… At least, when compared to the other man besides him, who was much shorter, with disarrayed silver hair and a very happy expression on his face, all while wearing a black waistcoat and colorful yukata. Then, the helicopters landed, the doors sliding open and letting the group out as the helicopter that carried the bus went to a more suitable drop off point, with the two God Eaters leading the group out. Seeing them head out, the man in white spoke up, his voice loud and dignified, “Impressive work on the field Lindow, and good work on bringing these people back without trouble” he said, looking past the God Eater and at the group of… Strange individuals that had been brought back, “Greetings to all of you. I am Johannes Von Shikkuzāru, Director of the Fenrir Far East Branch. I’ve seen the in field footage already, and I must say, it is rare to see people that can hold their own against Aragami, without the use of God Arcs-” “Interesting it is, I will agree. Though, Johan, perhaps we should bring them to your office before we do any questioning. I’m sure these people would prefer to be indoors, especially after taking on some Aragami” the other man quickly interrupted, looking at Johannes before turning his head back to the group. After a second of thought, Johannes sighed, “Yes, I suppose you’re right. Please, if you would follow, that would be appreciated. There are some things to clear up” he said, before turning around and heading to the elevator. Just before he went to follow himself, the unnamed man looked at Lindow, “Mr. Amamiya, if you would come along as well” he said, watching as Lindow simply nodded, heading towards the elevator as Soma went back to a separate elevator to free up some space on the elevator that everyone was likely going to use. With that, the man smiled to himself, turning around to join Johannes and Lindow in the elevator. Once everyone was on, the elevator went down, rather quickly, and after a brisk walk down a rather lonely hallway, they would all find themselves in a decently sized office, with Johannes now sitting down in the center desk, with Lindow and Sakaki standing on either side of him. After about a second of silence after Johannes sat down, the Director leaned forward, folding both hands underneath his nose, “Now then… Since we’re in a more suitable environment, I would like to know who, exactly, you are. You likely told Lindow here, but I would like to hear for myself. None of you are registered into the Fenrir Database, and you are able to combat an Aragami without the use of a God Arc… And considering the field footage we’ve acquired, that is only the tip of the iceberg with you. As a past scientist, I'd prefer to know what I am looking at instead of leaving it to the unknown” Johannes said, his voice going from a dutiful welcome to dead seriousness as his cold gaze went over the entire group.
  6. Proditor seemed to nod at Eva's response, "Understandable, though it may do well to test it out in combat... Or other tasks" he replied, noting that she said 'avatar'. If that was the case, than this wasn't Eva's true body... Though, what that really entailed could mean anything. For all they knew, this body of Eva's could simply be her new, permanent body, "I doubt you would've been chosen if you couldn't handle what was thrown at you though. That is something we all share" he added, turning towards the rest of the group as they continued to speak with Lindow and Soma. They HAD managed to kill these creatures... So they were able to handle what was thrown at them. ... More less, at least.
  7. For a few seconds, Lindow remained silent as Lilly 'explained' everything to him... Then he simply sighed, rubbing his forehead with two fingers, "Yeesh... Not like we have enough problems with Ouroboros already... Now we've got planet sized Aragami" he muttered before looking up again, "Well, that at least explains how strange you all look, and why you had no idea what an Aragami was. I'm sure Doctor Sakaki would be interested in learning about this-" "Learning about what?" Soma suddenly asked, walking up to his commander, not even sparing a glance at the group as he asked his question. Instantly, Lindow turned his head slightly towards Soma, shrugging as he did so, "I'll explain to you later, I doubt I'll be able to keep Hibari from sending in a chopper much longer-" "You would be right about that Lindow" "-Which reminds me" He continued without skipping a beat, even with Hibari replying to his statement over his comms, looking back at Lilly and the others, "I'm sure you'd want to get out of Aragami territory, right? We have several helicopters on standby for God Eater Extraction, and I, personally, wouldn't want to leave civilians out in the City of Mercy. Besides, Command might as well hear about this. Proves that there are worse Aragami out there that we don't know about" he said, before looking past the group at the bus, "... If you still need that hunk of junk over there, we can get it back to the Fenrir Branch easily." Proditor, upon hearing Eva say high, turned to the smaller girl, "Hello again" he replied in his normal tone of voice, before focusing down on Eva so that only she could hear him, "I take it you've been getting used to your new situation?"
  8. Hearing Leo's question, Freya snapped out of her thoughts, turning towards him, "I pulled her out of that gem... The one blasting with magic" Freya stated, pointing at the core once again. By the tone of her voice, it was apparent that she still didn't really like it. After a bit more thought, Freya began to walk towards it again, reaching out a hand to try and pull out another soul if she can, using her new trick.
  9. Eventually, Freya finally figured out what she had to do. Which was rather simple, figure out the best place to reach in without so many hands reaching out for her, and yank Solara out... And sure enough, when Freya's spectral hand reached into the crystal, the crsytal itself rippling on a spiritual level as she did so, and pulled hard when she grabbed something, it worked, as a soul was pulled out of the crystal with a little pop, the suddenness of the force causing Freya soul to fly back a little bit. Then, as Solara got used to being free, Freya realized that she had spent way too long outside her body, and quickly turned to go back into it. For everyone else, Freya suddenly moved again, letting out a long sigh of relief before bending down to pick up her staff. By the time she straightened and looked at Solara, the angel was already kneeling in front of her, giving Freya her thanks. Needless to say, this actually surprised Freya, but she was quick to reply... Which, specifically, was he crouching in front of Solara herself, leaning he staff on herself, "I don't really need any praise, honest. I just... Well, Urza deserves to die for what he did. Hopefully he already did, and he's paying for his mistake " Freya stated, her tone noticbly a bit angrier when she said Urza. However, when she spoke again, she seemed to have discarded that anger, as it went right back to cheerfulness, "But, I'm just doing my best to fix it. I guess your goddess does have a sense of humor, for both of us to meet like this. My name's Freya though... Not really used to the entire 'lady' thing" Freya replied, before standing up, taking a step back from Solara, thinking to herself on how she was going to get the rest of the souls trapped in the gem out. After all, she needed to use her soul to get them, and judging by the fact that she was visibly whiter than normal, anymore soul adventures for a while might start to actually kill her. Well, she could probably do her work without going into the spiritual realm... But there was the problem of there being MILLIONS of souls trapped in there. ... This task may take a long while...
  10. Platinum Sure enough, Esyllt's help didn't really effect anything, as Platinum (and the other girl) was still stuck firmly within the ground. With that realized, Platinum sighed, resigning to being stuck in the ground for the foreseeable future... At least, the rather short seeming one. Depends on if she was able to survive this. When Esyllt said her thing, Platinum would've, once again, face palmed at her agreeing to work with the girl that had... Well, some sort of extreme power (likely something related to goddesses), if it actually made sense, in a much better way than the previous girl. In all honesty, Platinum didn't see a way to get out of this alive either: That girl was ready to kill them if they didn't anyway. Hell, with Platinum and the other girl stuck in the floor without powers, they might still be killed even it they cooperated. But, they had to at least try. "I don't think she'll let us go if we agree to not tell anyone... Keeping chances of this breaking out to a minimum" Platinum said, shaking her head. This was complete madness, that she could agree on, along with the fact that she didn't want anything to do with this herself. But, it was rather obvious that she didn't have a choice in the manner, "I respect your decision though Esyllt... Even though I hate to say that. I mean, we don't really have any choice ourselves-" she said, gesturing the the ground that circled around her waist, "... I just hope that she won't decided to kill us just because we don't have powers."
  11. Proditor himself remained off to the side, sort of gazing at the destroyed city around him. He had seen broken cities before, but this was different. There wasn't signs of war, scorch marks or vaporized sections of the area. This was simply the result of animals chewing their way through society, one building at a time. The Ethereal did look at Lilly as he felt a signal coming from her, probably something to do with her own powers, but chose to ignore it this time. Couldn't butt into everything she did. At Lilly's sudden telepathic speaking, Lindow looked rather surprised, taking a step back from the sudden voice in his mind. After the quick second of shock though, Lindow smiled lightly, rubbing the back on his head as he lifted his God Arc off of his shoulder, planting it into the ground and leaning on it, "And this just keeps getting weirder and weirder... Alright, go ahead" he said, nodding his head at Lilly. Soma himself finally dispatched the two Fallen Ogretail, a relative piece of cake without the Vajra threatening his back. With each of their cores already extracted, Soma began to walk back to the group, sparing a quick glance at Eva (as he didn't see her originally), before simply moving forward. She was probably just part of this group... Whatever this 'group' was supposed to be, anyway.
  12. Platinum Platinum, at first glance, didn't seem to react towards Esyllt's statement towards her and the other girl to prepare to run, as she was still face palming from Kaede's statement earlier. However, Platinum DID hear Esyllt, and while she would've preferred to stay and give the girl a piece of her mind, she felt a strong urge to get out of there ASAP. At least, that was what she wanted to do, as the second Esyllt told them to run, the ground suddenly opened up, leaving only empty air beneath her, leaving her to fall for roughly a second before it snapped shut around her waist (or rather, slightly above it), trapping her in the ground itself. Honestly, Platinum actually made a small shout of surprise as she fell down, only to be suddenly stopped, stuck in the ground, with the girl speaking directly to the two that hadn't been sucked up into the ground. For a few seconds, Platinum tried to pull herself from out of the ground, pushing down on the earth... To no avail. Then, Kaede suddenly flashed with light, causing Platinum to cover her eyes at the sudden brightness, and when it was done, Kaede had... Well, completely switched outfits (which was, in Platinum's opinion, a tad bit revealing), along with gaining orange tattoos across her body. Before Platinum could react to that, Esyllt suddenly became enveloped in light herself, coming out of it with a new appearance and tattoos, like Kaede. ... And then the girl said that she would be free to kill the other two (read, Platinum and the other girl) without risk, before walking off with Kaede to have a little chat. Shit "Wonderful, knew coming here was a mistake..." Platinum muttered, getting back to work trying to push herself out of the ground, "Esyllt, mind giving me a hand here?" She asked, looking up at the transformed girl. This was getting weird, but she'd probably have to figure out everything that happened later... When she wasn't in danger of getting killed, that is.
  13. Freya floated even closer to the gem now, listening to Solara, her own anger starting to rise. Urza… That was the asshole’s name that did this. But, as Solara pleaded with her to help, Freya began to realize the problem. Millions of souls were in there… It would take a long time to free them without breaking the gem, maybe even years. It would be simple to just break the gem and free them, but what if they needed it’s power for something? ... Well, she had to try anyway. “I’ll do what I can, I can assure you of that” Freya said after a slight hesitation, before reaching out to touch the gem, aiming to figure out a way to use her own magic to pull one of the many souls free of the core.
  14. As Freya turned the corridor, storming through the ship with her two zombies following behind, Freya honestly wondered what exactly she would find. And when she finally reached the room where she KNEW the souls were stuck in, she audibly gasped, dropping her staff and bringing her hands to her mouth in shock and terror. Her bear let out a small sound, a breathless wine of worry for Freya, while the burned zombie shifted uncomfortably. Whatever she was seeing, it was horrifying. It was appealing. The slaughter of hundreds of mages by the hands of the Purifiers didn't even come close to what she was seeing. It was some kind of gem, pulsing with pure magic energy, with power a Dragon could only DREAM of possessing. But for Freya, she saw the truth to it... Millions of souls pounding desperately at the sides of the gem, clawing desperately to get away from it. That explained how it was so powerful... It had all of those souls trapped in it... Trying to escape. ... ....... No. That wasn't the source of the magic's power. The power emanating from the gem was more... Nature like, not soul like. It wasn't being powered by the souls... It was being powered by a magical place compressed into it. The souls were just an accessory. Suddenly, Freya's body froze as her soul departed from it, floating closer to the gem. The world around her was now hazy, grey, indistinct... But the gem was bright, sharp, and the souls were screaming louder than before, now that she was able to clearly hear them, "You poor things... What happened here? Who did this to you?" Frey asked as she floated towards the gem, face full of sadness as she stared at the gem, at the souls trying to escape.
  15. As Freya stepped into the ship, admiring the size of it and feeling the resonating magic from the large vessel, she suddenly paused, something that would seem completely random for her, even if her zombies stopped with her. For Freya, she had suddenly heard a voice... Something that sounded angelic... Musical... And disembodiment. Like it was echoing across the walls. And then, her face began to pale as more voices joined in, their music stacking upon each other, and when Freya brought a hand to her head as more and more voices kept joining in, she realized something. These weren't just voices singing happily with each other. They were the screaming souls of thousands... Nay, MILLIONS of souls, each tormented for who knows how long. With that realization, Freya suddenly felt like this place was just... Wrong. The walls around her felt tainted, like they shouldn't exist... But they did, keeping their tainted selves as the screams of pain continued. Then, wordlessly, Freya spun on her heel, marching off with a sudden look of anger on her face, looking to find where these souls were stuck. Whoever did this... This... Horrible tragedy was going to pay. Right after Freya made things right.
  16. Platinum Platinum And just after Platinum gave her thoughts on the manner, four of the other girls suddenly vanished, leaving her, Essylt, and two other girls were the only ones of the group, and in front of them was a girl in a silver dress with strange markings. It felt a bit like deja vu, to be honest. Didn't she see this girl before? No, she didn't, that was something Platinum was sure about. That was when the girl spoke, Platinum noted two things. First was that the girl specifically stated that "Alexus unlocked one of their power", which... Sort of baffled Platinum. Mainly because goddesses were just religion, and if they did exist, they didn't interfere with them. So why would they unlock one of their powers, if they even had any? Didn't make much sense, but that wasn't the main thing that baffled Platinum. The thing that really baffled the small girl was the fact that they were flat out asking them to help her tear down the society she lived in and it's religion (with the added threat that if they didn't, they would die). Yeah, hah, hilarious. The first part of that problem was that they were simple girls in school, they didn't have yet say or ability to truly do anything with society as a whole (yet, anyway). There was also the question of what mess she was talking about, but Platinum didn't vocalize that question. ... What she did vocalize was what the girl next to her, one with deep cobalt hair, said, about agreeing to tear down the government, "WHAT?!" Platinum yelled, turning to the girl, before sighing in frustration, bringing a hand to her head. She had quickly realized that, due to their clear uncare for simple appearance, that they were probably Alexian, which suddenly made a lot of sense, all things considered. Of course it would be an Alexian to go with the flow and agree to become a criminal... No, more like terrorist. God, why did she have to be the only person that had a brain. ... Though, while Platinum stood there frustrated, she did wonder: Who in the world did the girl mean by "unlocked"?
  17. For a bit, Freya's work with the scattered corpses seemed to be going well. They seemed to be responding with her magic, beginning to jerk as they attempted to work themselves to a standing up position. Freya's current two zombies, the bear and other soldier, watched with non-existent interest as their mistress went to work, starting to get excited for her new wave of minions. ... At least, before each of them suddenly froze, and before Freya could figure out why, each began to quickly dissolve into black mist, being scattered by the light breeze. For a second, Freya was completely baffled by the sight. That had never happened before, and Freya really didn't know how to react. In fact, she kind of felt a sudden dread, like she just fucked up, hard. At least, that feeling was there for less than 5 seconds before Freya shrugged, "Ah well, come on you two, lets go on in" Freya said, turning on her heel and marching towards the ship, her two zombies walking after her.
  18. (61) Harry gets to work on taking some Aragami parts, and he finds that as he takes some of the Aragami parts off the bodies, they seem to dissipate into black mist and scatter away in the wind. Strange, but he's still able to get some stuff from the bodies, acquiring Vajra fur, some Ogretail armor-chips, and a small portion of a Chi-You's wing. (69) Lucille uses her scrying abilities to learn about the Ogretail corpse she was investigating. She would quickly find out that, yes, the entire creature was made of smaller molecules, which were currently freaking out as they did not have something to truly control it, its "hive mind", specifically. As she investigated, she could feel the small organisms beginning to disperse, no longer being told to stay together, though Lucille could still sense some of the signals remaining from whatever the hive mind sent out last. It seemed that the last signal, now being ignored by the organisms, was something that ordered them to link up and stay together to form the shape of the Aragami. Weird. At Harry and Calvera's questions, Lindow seemed to roll his eyes, tossing his cigar away, "I guess I should feel glad that the Aragami aren't enough of a threat for regular people to be actively studying and knowing about them" he muttered, before turning to the star and doctor, "Alright, this thing right here-" he began, pointing his God Arc at the Vajra, "- Is an Aragami. You know, those things that destroyed civilization just 20 years ago and probably would've eaten you if Soma and I weren't here. Both of us are God Eaters, by the way, and we work for the Fenrir Far East Branch. Where we are standing, if you recall reading a map, is what we refer to as the ‘City of Mercy’” Lindow said, taking a look around the rubble around him, “... Not so much of that anymore” he added. Then, a small beep came from his ear, causing him to lift his finger at the group, asking for a little time. Then, he turned away, bringing said fingers to his ear, “Hey Hibari, how’s that research coming?” he asked. For the next few seconds, he remained silent, listening to whoever was on the other end, his relaxed smile turning into a more neutral setting as the time went on. Then, he nodded, “Hold up on that evac-copter, there are still some things I want to take care of here” he stated before letting his hand fall, turning back to the group, “Now, I believe I left off at telling you where you managed to stumble into. This ‘wrist-breaking’ sword right here is a God Arc, practically the only weapon capable of killing an Aragami for good” he said, before his face grew serious, “With my questions answered, how about you answer some of mine. Specifically why none of you aren’t in the Fenrir database, why some of you look like Aragami yourselves-” he said, tilting his head towards Lilly as he said that, “-and why some of you look like you came out of a completely different world.”
  19. "It's an Aragami. Vajra, specifically. Good luck getting off any usable parts off it though. I take it you haven't really studied up on the Aragami, have you?" Lindow asks, looking at Union as he said so. She kind of looked like an Aragami herself... This was really weird. Just, completely messed up right now. Hopefully Hibari was figuring out what was going on, because he sure as hell didn't. When Union poked the Vajra with her foot, she could find the portion of the Vajra she touched suddenly fade away into black mist, falling to the ground before vanishing from sight. After a bit of thought though, Lindow suddenly lifts his blade off of his shoulder, "Right, should probably remove the core" he said, before pulling his blade back, the hilt opening to allow the large black mass form around the blade. Then, he thrusted forwards, the mass taking a bite out of the Vajra, somehow leaving the entire body unharmed, before pulling back, the mass quickly retreating into his sword. For a second, one could see a bright orange orb close to the surface of the mass, but soon enough, the mass had vanished and Lindow had put his God Arc back onto his shoulder.
  20. At Harry's comment, Lindow looked at the Vajra corpse, then shrugs, grabbing his God Arc with one hand before walking up to the Vajra corpse. Honestly, in his opinion, it didn't make much sense still, though he could at least understand one's employer sending one someplace with little warning. Still, if there was supposed to be a traveling group of people, foreigner or not, then command would've informed him ahead of time. Eh, didn't truly matter, in the end. "Sure, we've got plenty Vajra parts back at base" Lindow said, crouching down to pick up a fang that had broken off the Vajra, watching as little sparks of electricity flowed across the tooth. Then, he turned, holding it out to Harry, "Glad it got angry before Soma took care of it. Harder to get a tooth in this condition." Harry acquires a Vajra Spark Fang! This tooth, broken off of an enraged Vajra, crackles lightly with electricity still flowing through it, though it is still not harmful. Perhaps this may help learn what the hell an Aragami is?
  21. Theme Defying time itself due to the effects of the local time fucker, Harry puts more bandaids on several other people, healing Satomi for 16 hp, Lilly for 15, Frigus for 14, and Lindow for 14 Shaking off the dizziness from the fused dragon and girl, the Vajra gets back to its feet, roaring loudly as the capes stood up, electricity flying across said capes. “Aragami activating! Be careful Lindow!” a voice shouted into Lindow’s communications, just as the God Eater got to his feet, bringing his hand to his ear, “Don’t worry, it won’t be active for much longer” he said, before charging forward, his God Arc expanding once again to create the large mouth that he had created before, chomping down on the Aragami, dealing 48 damage to the Vajra and healing himself for a rather low 9 hp. Soma, on the other hand, continues to slaughter the other Ogretail, slashing through yet another and killing it with a hefty 28 damage and killing yet another Fallen Ogretail. Lucille, in the safety of her Sanctuary, heals Soma for 21 hp, while Bacchus heals Satomi for 8 hp. Kusuke rewinds Somatotrope, bringing her all the way back to full health! Frigus gets back into the fight, comboing the Vajra to deal 21 damage with the first attack, and 22 damage with the second. The Vajra looks like it’s having a hard time standing… The Fallen Ogretail get back to work attacking, even though there are only two left. One bites at Harry, dealing 16 damage with its attack, while the other shoots a spike at Soma (14), only for the God Eater to dodge it, nearly effortlessly. Satomi prepares to repair her wall, if need be… Soma, upon dodging the spike, notices the Vajra’s weakened state, and notices it preparing to bolt. Not if he had anything to say about it. Suddenly, he began to spring, jumping over Satomi’s wall, landing on top of it before using it as a boost to jump further into the air, aiming his God Arc down as he fell… Before plunging it into the Vajra’s head, dealing 20 damage to the Vajra. Instantly, the Aragami rears up in pain, roaring loudly… Before falling forward, completely dead. The Vajra is dead! Ending encounter. Merit! With the Vajra dead, Lindow turns his head, seeing the two Fallen Ogretail seem to reconsider them being here. After a few seconds, the two remaining Aragami turned around, beginning to flee instead of fight. Smart, but he couldn’t really let them go, “Soma, would you do the honors and take care of the other two Ogretail?” Lindow called out, watching as Soma tore his God Arc free from the Vajra, jumping off the corpse, “Fine. Just make sure to extract the Vajra core, unlike last time” Soma replied bluntly, turning around and running past the group, jumping over the wall once more to hunt down the remaining two Ogretail as they ran. For a second, Lindow watched Soma run off, then he turned towards the strange group of people, planting his God Arc into the ground… Before pulling out a lighter and cigarette, “So. What is a group of… Non civilians, is my guess, doing out here and willingly picking fights with Aragami, without the presence of a God Eater in their group? Did you lose track of where they were or something?” he asked before taking a smoke. From his tone, he didn’t seem too surprised. More just simple curiosity. Current loot is being decided, but you do have some Aragami corpses around.
  22. Platinum Platinum didn't really react much to Esyllt's joke, mostly just shaking her head slightly, "Honestly, I have no idea. Nothing I've been able to makes any sense. I don't recognize her at all, and we're the first groups to be heading out on this hike today, which rules out her being part of another group that came back a while ago. That, and they didn't seem to have been passed out for long, considering their dress was still rather clean" she replied with a shrug, "Nothing I can think of really adds up" she added. Platinum had a feeling that they would figure out what exactly happened, but for now all they could really do was get to the cemetery and wait.
  23. Platinum Platinum was rather glad that Aislin wasn't holding them up anymore. It helped to at least keep any earlier frustration over the girl from increasing. Still, Platinum still didn't really think there would be anything truly interesting on the hike. She was proven wrong when the group stumbled across the fainted girl in the middle of the trail. For the most part, Platinum was visibly surprised to see someone passed out in the middle of the trail. In all honesty, surprised was the only way she could act. Why would there be anyone on the trial right now? From what the schedules said that they should be the only two groups on it right now, and from the fact that the girl's silver dress was still rather clean, that indicated that she fainted not too long ago, which ruled out previous groups going out on a hike (if there were any, which Platinum already knew that there hadn't been a previous group out before them. And even if there was, they would know that this girl had been missing when they got back to the camp). And why did she have random tattoos over her? Unfortunately, Platinum was unable to ask any of those questions physically, as Miss Carstin had told them to continue on ahead while she kept watch over the fainted girl. Personally, Platinum was going to object on the grounds that they should at least try to get the girl back to the camp ASAP. But, instead, Platinum merely nodded, "Alright Miss Carstin" she said, turning away from the girl and continuing on the path towards the cemetery. It wasn't her place to really talk back to a teacher. She was a student, after all. As she walked, Platinum couldn't help but feel that bad feeling starting to come back.
  24. "Aaaand we're finally here!" Freya said once the derelict was in sight, taking a second to catch her breath before walking forward again, the bear still following her as she went along, "Heeeellooooooo! Anyone hoooooome?!" she called out as she approached. It was definitely a big ship, but if this is where the other team was (which, last she checked, they SHOULD be in the right place), then they should be able to hear her calling out to them. ... However, as she begins heading towards the ship, she stops, noticing the bodies strewn around the place, "Oooo, I'll catch up with you guys in a bit, need to do something" Freya called out to the rest of the ground, before running off towards the bodies. There was a bit of Necromancy she had to get to work on. Leave no body behind, as she always said!
