Only Torchic and Froakie aren't available as an event I think. The Location Guide doesn't mention every even for starter there is.

I call bs in normal runthrough. But I'm pretty sure if one is dedicated and tweaks ones team everytime 100% before going against anyone, I'd say it's possible.

Poison Monotype run of Reborn (Latest Defeated Leader: Amaria)
RhythmMelody replied to Jess's topic in Team Showcase
Did the searching myself already not for every type, but for the ones I'm interested in. Most helpful thing though is the Counter-strategy itself. Never thought of using Counter in that way. btw you're freak Jess to do all that searching, I like that EDIT: The event Pokemon (like the Murkrow for example) can have (almost) any of their egg moves. In my flyingmono I got Murkrow with Roost for example.- 461 replies

Seriously? Hmm... I can't remember the last time I killed him if it was Florinia or Julia I fought with. Anyway, I'm going to try it out the next time. Thank you very much ~ I can't stand those moves well, I don't really know about Counter, I never used it.- 461 replies

How do you get to fight Solaris/John with Julia instead of Florinia? Never had that conversation between Fern and Florinia with her getting attacked by Seviper o:- 461 replies

Actually once you get waterfall running you can go back to the city. If, and only if, you cleared a certain pathway on route 1. Though one gotta use the strenght bug.

Rhythm's Fyling Mono Run [Ep. 16 finished]
RhythmMelody replied to RhythmMelody's topic in Team Showcase
Chapter VIII: Water Splashing (and Ciel too!) I'd say this is the chapter I always have the most fun with. I really like to fight against Fern/Blake and Solaris/Orderly John and the Water Treatment Center is my favorite puzzle I think. Though I never ever managed to win against the Pulse Swalot without tweaking my Team in some kind of way. vs Pulse Swalot [Water Treatment Center] Annoying little piece of shit. I had to run all the way back to the circus to teach Noivern Screech again to kill it. Discharge and Sludge Wave combinend killed my team easily. Only Sigilyph MIGHT have had a chance if it could have set up, the problem was that as soon as Discharge paralyzed it, no matter the set up, Sigilyph was dead. vs Taka [Water Treatment Center] The Noivern vs Klefki lead was stupid and resulted in a rather slow start for this game but anyway, the fight itself wasn't that hard. But we saw an Aerodactyl, a Pokemon I'll take up in my Team I think vs Fern& Blake [Fiore Mansion] Thanks to Blake and Fern focusing on Florinia instead of me Togekiss could easily kill both of their most annyoing Pokemon, Weavile and Roserade, which could have been annoying otherwise. vs Solaris& Orderly John [Fiore Mansion] I expected the fight to be more of a challenge. The only "problem" I faced was that my Archeops used its Flying Gem already and that some of my mons went over the level cap. Also the Noivern lead wasn't optimal. vs Ciel [13. Gym] Thanks to Archeops Ciel wasn't a challenge, though I did fuck up with Honchkrow which resulted in the fight not being as clean as I would have liked it to be. Now there is only Gym left at the moment. But oh boi it will take some time till we get there. The next Chapter will be BIG! I will change my team a bit one last time in this Monorun yeah, stay tuned. Team: End of Chapter VIII Brand ♂, Charizard Lv. 74 Adamant/Blaze/Flame Plate Fire Fang Dragon Claw Flare Blitz Dragon Dance Lautsprecher ♀, Noivern Lv. 75 Modest/Telepathy/Silk Scarf Dragon Pulse Boom Burst Hurricane Screech Uralt ♂, Archeops Lv. 75 Adamant/Defeatist/Flying Gem Acrobatics Rock Slide Crunch U-Turn Eiersalat ♂, Togekiss Lv. 75 Modest/Serene Grace/Sky Plate Air Slash Aura Sphere Ancient Power Wish Der Pate ♂, Honchkrow Lv. 75 Adamant/Moxie/Black Glasses Night Slash Sucker Punch Brave Bird Rosst Rune ♂, Sigilyph Lv. 75 Calm/Magic Guard/Life Orb Stored Power Miracle Eye Cosmic Power Roost Kisses, Cookies, Greetings ~ Rhythm -
Rhythm's Fyling Mono Run [Ep. 16 finished]
RhythmMelody replied to RhythmMelody's topic in Team Showcase
Chapter VII: Rush Hour The name of the chapter is pretty easy too understand. I'm going to rush a bit and try to bring the Monorun to an end. There are 3 for that. First is, I wanna do a Watermono. Or rather thats the third reason. The first reason I'm having exams atm and gotta concentrate for abit. The second reason is the flyingrun isn't as hard and exciting as I thought it would be. Anyway, thats why theres such a rush now. vs Samson [10. Gym] Samson is the second fighting type leader we phase and yeah, he's just as problematic as the first one: not a bit. At least he doesn't get himself killed (yet) vs Aster& Eclipse [Route 3] I gotta admit this fight wasn't pleasent. In my first sucess Aya had to kill Asters last 2 Pokemon by herself. The field is annoying, but in this hurried redo it kinda worked out. I wouldn't call it a beautiful fight though ^^' vs Charlotte [11. Gym] Yeah, good ol' Charlotte. I kinda expected to get my ass handed to me but... yeah. No. It was just spamming Rock Slide and nothing else actually. vs Pulse Avalugg [Ametrine Mountain] This one was a bit annoying at first, but in the end I still had to just spam attacks till he got down. Did take 2 tries, as I tried the new TM from Charlotte at first and kinda failed miserably. Archeops is wearing a Stone Plate for this fight, because otherwise it wouldn't oneshot Typhlosion in the first move. vs Aster [Ametrine Mountain] Uhm yeah... Sucker Punch sucks. (for Aster at least) Poor guy didn't stand any chance at all. vs Blake [Ametrine Mountain] I seriously shit my pants before the fight, I thought Blake would kill me over and over and over again and surpisingly, he didn't. It was really surprised at how easy went down. I didn't even have to run back to the circus to get Fire Pledge on Charizard so that I could terminate the field. vs Mewtwo [Glitch City] Just spamming attacks, a no brainer. Was pretty lucky thought that my mons all survived one attack somehow and I got REALLY lucky with Mewto not oneshotting Noivern with an Ice Beam. vs M3G4 T3RR4 [12. Gym] Ahhh... T3RR4. I really like that girl. The fight itself was really annoying actually. I just rushed through the fights since Samson, which is why Team wasn't what you would call prepared. I couldn't force my way with brute force through her Pokemon, as the field was to annyoing. Charizards STABs all became special (and I'm using a physical Charizard), Honchkrow lost it STAB on Sucker Punch and Nidoking would just sweep most of my team. At first I tried to outspeed Terra with Tailwind from Noivern, but it didn't help because I couldn't kill her Pokemon fast enough. In the end I changed Sigilyphs ability to magic guard. This way I could let it boost itself against Quagsire (as the burn from scald didn't do dmg anymore). The reason why Magic Guard is important is, that Quagsire deals quite the damage as soon as it uses Amnesia. Remember: In Glitch Field the higher value of spez. attack and spez. def is used for attack and defense. It took some tries to figure out to do that and then it took even more tries to succesfully sweep her team. Stone Edge crits killed my little bird just too often. Anyway, with this I'll end this chapter for now. In the next Chapter I'll go rescue Titania and Amaria and at the end I'll kick Ciels cute ass. Team: End of Chapter VII Brand ♂, Charizard Lv. 65 Adamant/Blaze/Flame Plate Fire Fang Dragon Claw Flare Blitz Dragon Dance Lautsprecher ♀, Noivern Lv. 66 Modest/Telepathy/Silk Scarf Dragon Pulse Boom Burst Hurricane Tailwind Uralt ♂, Archeops Lv. 67 Adamant/Defeatist/Flying Gem Acrobatics Rock Slide Crunch U-Turn Eiersalat ♂, Togekiss Lv. 70 Modest/Serene Grace/Sky Plate Air Slash Aura Sphere Ancient Power Wish Der Pate ♂, Honchkrow Lv. 68 Adamant/Moxie/Black Glasses Night Slash Sucker Punch Brave Bird Rosst Rune ♂, Sigilyph Lv. 70 Calm/Magic Guard/Mind Plate Stored Power Miracle Eye Cosmic Power Roost Kisses, Cookies, Greetings ~ Rhythm -

I know, but I'm no fan of watching anime, specially not without company, which is why I don't have any motivation to watch it all alone But yeah, too bad that Pokemon is a show for kids. There are quite a lot of shows that would be nice with an adult approach on things.- 461 replies

I would only watch if its in Free TV by chance when I'm watching TV. Looking at the fact that I'm watching TV like once every three months, I don't think I'll watch it My favorite would be a Pokemon series with James as its protagonist. Though Gary would be an interesting candidate too, with lots of space for character improvement. Unlike Ash who learns to control his temper and help people and how one should train pokemon, Gary would learn to be a bit more humble. And yeah, modesty should be more of a tool and less of a character property- 461 replies

I fear I'm seriously no good at taking stuff with pinches or tons of salt ^^'' I'm not that much enjoying anime/series to begin with, so it's even harder if I dislike the main character specially when he's as dull as Ash, even though I'll admit that it's true, that he is forced to forget. Didn't think about that till now. Edit: Funfact, I'm no fan of the Naruto or One Piece anime either- 461 replies

Yeah, but you'd think even a ten year old won't ever forget the very first lesson he's taught in the aspect of Pokemon. But Ash forgets all the time anything he learns. I read about that, didn't watch those seasons. But yeah, that's pretty much what I wanted as far as I know about it. Happend since one of the movies I think.- 461 replies

Braviary is obtaible to in that area and should be able to do the job too. The problem of Hawluchs is, that it won't learn Acrobatics before Ciel as you need the TM to teach it. Braviary may be slower than Hawlucha, but it packs quite the punch and unlike Hawlucha it learns Brave Bird by level. Though I admit that Hawluchas Flying Press can easily do the job too, though ofc it could get its power reduced by the arena. (or its powered up like a madman). Anyway, general advise: Nature Power turns into Acrobatics in the Big Top Arena with 110BP so just teach it to some Pokemon with a decent base attack and you should win.

It must be a windy night I think. And reading the book next to the Pokemon egg will tell you how to navigate yourself to Eevee.

He did that with Pidgeotto too and I'm pretty sure he also tried to throw a Pokeball with out fighting for his snivy. He's not only awesome by likeliness, I think he's just a really great character in whole. The concept of his, the background, his quirks and everything is just perfect. It's just really sad the Anime made Team Rocket into a running gag. I would have much prefered if they were depicted as strong and dangerous as they really are.- 461 replies

Actually I'm not annoyed by that at all. I rather think its great, because it's exactly what people could do with their pokemon in the anime. Sure, surfing on a muk might be a bit stretching it, given its bodies density, but tearing down gates with Pokemon, killing baddies with your Pokemon-sword or creating staircases out of Ice is exactly what Pokemon can do, but don't do at all in the games in generel. Which is why I really like that we are able to interact with the field by breaking crystals, freezing water or defog rooms full of steam. Pretty much as it is, but that is what people always wish for. I thinks its just not possible to create a game where a player has more or less total freedom of choice, leading to seperate paths. Still, Ame sure as hell did the best job anyone could have asked for. Point made.

Nope, no way. I can't respect Ash. He may have his good sites, I won't deny them, but he's just too stupid. At the beginning of each season he just goes back to being a total moron and decides to do shit he should have learned not do (or the other way round he doesn't do shit he should do) already in the first season. For some reason he unlearns basic knowledge like that there is love between male and female. Just to name a few things. Though I'll admit that I'm neither a fan of the typical shonen protagonist nor young characters in general, so my dislike for Ash might have something to do with this. I'm a really big fan of James from Team Rocket though, looking at the aspect of moral compass, supportiveness and actually more or less anything too bad, that Team Rocket were made to be the dumb joke they are.- 461 replies

I'll sign this. But the imbalance I find the most annoying is... age. Like seriously, where are the adults? Well, almost all in Team Meteor one could guess but theres an orphanage full of gym leaders and Elite 4 members. Thats what is bothering me the most.

RhythmMelody replied to Jess's topic in Team Showcase
I would lie if I said I wouldn't be a friend of good ol' physical power, but yeah. The overuse of legendaries is terrible and no fun at all. That is actually the greatest thing about Reborn, that it forces you to not rely on Ubers. And of course a Lv. 1 Paras can carry a Volcarona in one special situation, but to be an Ace in general I'd say is to be reliable in just almost any situation, by simply being stronger than anyone around you. I would rather say certain aspecs of the Anime is underrated. Overall I'm no fan of it either (Satoshi wtf go kill yourself you stupid shit for brains eternal 10-year old). But yeah, it sure as hell has aspects that are just great.- 461 replies

Poison Monotype run of Reborn (Latest Defeated Leader: Amaria)
RhythmMelody replied to Jess's topic in Team Showcase
Of course they are good enough to handle themselves and they sure as hell can be a permanent member of a squad. But thats not what being the Ace is about. And I'm with you when you say that Vaporeon is bulky and can hit hard, but it's still no Ace for me. For me Ace means, that the Pokemon is without question cut above the rest of the team and as much as I love Vaporeon, it is not cut above the rest of almost any squad. Maybe it's just me, but for me the Ace is the strongest Pokemon in the squad. Doesn't matter because of it's raw power or because the tactic of the team sets up so the Ace can wreck havoc. But in the end the Ace is the one Pokemon that'll make your enemy shit his pants My opinion on this though, in pure stalling team the Ace might as well be the most tanky Pokemon I guess. But thats the one thing I like more or less more than anything else about the Anime, because the Pokemon aren't bound by stats there. A Caterpie can win against Team Rocket just with a String Shot, Pikachu can easily take on foes like Onix or Raichu and Psyduck goes BOOM on anything stupid enough to stand in its way. There is (usually) none that just spams one legendary or semi-legendary Pokemon after the other and thats what's great I think.- 461 replies
