Oh right Reborn has the Trick Room tm already lol, I never use it so I always forget I have it lol EDIT: low speed can actually be good in some situations tho, e.g. facing a rapid spin/defog user with low speed means you get rocks AFTER they remove them instead of before. Situational at best though so w/e

Am I the only one that wishes there was a difficulty setting?
Seel The Deal replied to ForeverGrinding's topic in Reborn City
Am I the only one that finds Ciel like, really hard with an average team? Most of the time I resort to either priority spam, bird spam, or the infamous sub/double team combo. Doesn't help that I don't like using Rock-types though. Anyway, if you have anything that gets substitute+literally any potent setup move (or x items)+enough speed (post-setup) to outspeed Noivern (or a priority move like Ice Shard) then you just win. Nothing she can do. -
Gonna vote for the under... camel... thing. Camerupt hits like a monster truck on steroids being driven by a Snorlax - Sheer Force + 145 base SpA + 120 base Atk + arguably the best dual STABs available outside of fakemons and Protean? Dear Arceus. ...we also already have Cameruptite in Reborn if I'm not mistaken and we're probably going to get the Mega Ring not too far from now (probs E17 or E18) so yeah.

EV Training/IV Breeding Worth it for Story?
Seel The Deal replied to Moneybanks416's topic in Reborn City
Between new content and AI, and ez access to EV-reset items, EV training 'mons you use a lot could be good and honestly doesn't take too long if you've got the time, IV breeding isn't worth at all unless you have something insane like 6IV Ditto, and natures ofc are useful. -
Johto #5 - Azumarill - It hits hard. It takes hits well. AND IT'S CUTE. What more do you want? A buff? One of Azumarill's new abilities is Huge Power oh. Well, what now? Another on- Azumarill is now Fairy-type ...jesus GF, just confirm Mega Azumarill already #4 - Slowking - It looks silly, it takes hits like they're silly, and it learns silly moves (WHY DOES THIS LEARN FIRE BLAST.) Basically it's really silly #3 - Miltank - While everyone's busy being infuriated by Whitney's Miltank in G/S/C/HG/SS, I'm busy training mine to be even more infuriating. Also, why does this fat friggin' cow have 105 base speed...? That seems unnecessary. #2 - Feraligatr - It hits hard. It takes hits well. AND IT'S BADASS. What more do you want? A buff? Feraligatr now has the hidden ability Sheer Force you know GF I'm starting to see a trend here with you buffing Johtonian Water-types #1 - Typhlosion - Nostalgia. And the hopes that one day it'll be able to learn coverage moves.

...are there any fire-types with Sturdy available pre-Solaris (or any in general for that matter)? If so that's a foolproof win - get ~60 fresh waters (same price as potions but better healing so why not?), first 40 stall its PP (10 dragon rush, 10 earthquake, 5 stone edge, 15 fire fang) and the last few serve to keep you alive during struggle. Any sturdy 'mon works but the chance of fire fang burning after 15 uses is pretty high so you'll probably need a reset or two. Not sure if you get rawst berries this early.

What was your biggest accomplishments in this episode?
Seel The Deal replied to Chengro's topic in Reborn City
As far as I know, a 'mon with an odd number of HP IVs at level 100 will always have odd HP uninvested. Unless you need 30 HP IVs for Hidden Power or, as you said, even HP for Belly Drum + Sitrus users, it's better to invest in Defense/Special Defense. That's why I didn't go into as much detail as you did - the exact mechanics only matter for a handful of 'mons. -
@Wolfox Well, he's full of surprises, and in all the right ways.

I know you already have a Poison and a Ground type, but I can't help but recommend Nidoking anyway. Its movepool is incredible (elemental punches, stealth rocks, toxic spikes, poison jab, sludge wave, flamethrower, surf, earth power, bulldoze, megahorn, gunk shot?, shadow ball from earlier episodes when the TM was still available, etc.) and combined with Sheer Force this makes it one of the strongest special/mixed attackers in Reborn imo. Also IIRC Life Orb is available via the Strength glitch so you can abuse the stupidly broken LO + Sheer Force combo to hit like a monster truck with literally no drawbacks. Nidoking's low speed is a hindrance but can be fixed with a bit of EV training. And if you ever feel like the redundancy with your team's types is starting to hurt (although I think the last gym where it will is Water), you can always put it in rotation.
-
Not sure if you've done it by now but a Crobat with Double Team(TM from Ametrine Mountain, Reborn side)/Substitute(TM from Game Corner)/Acrobatics/<Insert Irrelevant Move Here> sweeps her entire team regardless of EVs/IVs, X Attacks help since Gliscor can be annoying to break and you really want to OHKO Noivern so it doesn't get any chance to OHKO you through Substitute with field-boosted Boomburst. May take a few tries if Archeops or Gliscor get some BS luck (I've had Gliscor hit 6 times in a row with Acrobatics so it definitely happens sometimes... grumblegrumble

Are you guys repeating your run once episode 17 is released?

@mugen000 counter+sturdy is like d-bond+sash except it doesn't use a rare, non-renewable item and your 'mon doesn't faint

This pokemon was stated in the legends to be heralded by the dragons. It can be yours for only 500 poke, a really long sidequest, and approximately 5 more years of pending updates.

Yeah, Hardy revealed Gigalith trying to break the PULSE Avalugg's barrier in Ametrine, so we know that's one of his 'mons (could even be a lead since E17 will grant it Sand Stream). If it's on the Dragon's Den field I can totally see him using Tyrantrum, and Cradily is a nice defensive check for 3 of Rock's weaknesses (Grass, Water, Ground) so it seems likely too. This is all speculation for a gym that isn't coming any time soon tho XD

I'll redo with just one really good team (screw raising a whole rotation again lol) and then go back to my main file once I reach the end of E16 on the redo -
Dragon will definitely be bad, but rock? Roserade (and a fair few other Grass-types) get Grassy Terrain to screw over the field and boost Grass moves, and even if you don't use that the Dragon's Den terrain (I think that's what it's called?) shouldn't be too bad unless it heavily nerfs Grass moves.
-
There are no gyms left where a Grass-type is disadvantaged defensively, 2 left where Grass hits super-effectively, and only 2 left that resist Grass, so training one could be good. Roserade is probably the best option, since Technician turns Hidden Power into a 90 BP Special coverage move (Fire and Ground are best), Venoshock + Toxic (Spikes) makes sweeping ez, it gets Giga Drain and Petal Dance through level-up as Roselia, Weather Ball and Grassy Terrain through relearner as Roserade, and it even has Leaf Storm as well as Extrasensory through breeding with the Nuzleaf line (Extrasensory at 36 as Nuzleaf, Leaf Storm at 44 as Shiftry) and Spikes through breeding with the Cacnea line (Level 30).
