back to the basics V: white flag[mafia wins]
cicada replied to Jace Stormkirk's topic in Reborn Mafia Club's General Mafia
So um... does this mean that Amine died? -
I believe it is time I revealed my mask.... Hmph...it appears that...the time has come for this mask to come off... However, that's perfectly fine... It's no longer necessary.

I have already stated what my role is and what it does, Ali. I do not have such capabilities of "stabilising" anyone, and even if I did have the ability I was roleblocked and protected by Kiet. So that's me out of the question. I do not know what could have happened that prevented mafia from killing, and even if I was the one who went out and carried out the kills, with Kiet, the Nurse, suspecting me why on earth would I risk carrying out the kill? Think about it for one minute. Lía, I really can't think of any other solution unless someone else has healing capabilities? I'm not sure. All I know, which I can't change the lynch target now so I can't convince otherwise with what remains left of the day phase probably, is that the kill failed for some reason and it has put me in a very bad position. I can't do anything to convince anyone else otherwise, but I'm not changing my claim at all because I'm speaking the truth. To be honest, Seal's target choices are a bit strange. If it were me, I'd have checked Ali after Cass was lynched to make sure that he wasn't mafia. Maybe he could have checked me to clarify my innocence. I don't know. I'm gonna just do this even though I can't change the votes in any way. [Eliminate] Seal.

I would like to point out that I was one of the first to figure out Cass' alignment and actually pushed a scumread on her. Why on earth would I have done that so early in the game if we were accomplices? Yes, I know I townread her at the end but for most of the part, I was scumreading her. Those who have played as mafia with me in the past could vouch that bussing is not a part of my playstyle in the slightest, and that is not going to change so easily. To add to my innocence, I have been actively scumhunting and I even shared insights to what roles could be. Why would I have gone to those efforts if I was mafia? I wouldn't have, that's why. Throughout this entire game, I have been helpful towards townies. I assumed I had a target on my back because of my contributions. To expand on my ability, I suppose I should role reveal now (even if it doesn't do much). To no surprise of those who have played Amber's games before, I am the Maid. Except this time, I have an alignment and am aligned to Town. I tried to give ideas to my own role to throw off the Mafia, but I lied about those roles. I'm basically confined to the Kitchen at night, and once during the game I'm able to invite a guest (I could say) to the kitchen, which grants us a permanent chat to share. There we can talk about anything, such as who we think is mafia etc. This is one of Amber's games, so if you have any doubt in my claim please remember that all of the roles here are so random and the descriptions are all vague. Didn't Lykos say he had an ability that could reverse itself on his target? Those who kill his target would get killed instead for example? I guess that would be Kiet's only form of protection. I am the Maid, aligned to Town. Believe me or not, I am telling the truth.

My one-time use ability is visiting any one person and inviting them to share a chat with me. This can be of any alignment. I do not know the alignment of anyone until they discuss it with me first, and even then it's a 50/50 of whether or not they're telling the truth. I went to do this the previous night phase, as I felt that I would probably get targeted by mafia, however I was stopped and could not carry it out. I did not want to mention being restrained so early because I wasn't sure if I had gotten protected or not, as this would have drawn a large target on my back for mafia. Also, I wanted to see if Kiet would slip up, as I had assumed the possibility of mafia not performing a kill to try and get me, an easy lynch target, lynched next day phase. So yes, I do confirm that I was role blocked, however I am not the scum you are looking for. Take this as you will, but I am telling the truth.

Okay, I believe the Performer role also shows up as a player's alignment upon death, so I believe that Ali might potentially have been mafia. Anyone's thoughts on this?

Kiet, it’s already been confirmed that Ben is a confirmed town role. Your reasoning of him possibly being mafia is therefore flawed. This makes me feel like you are definitely mafia. If Cass and Ali were maf teammates, I feel that she wouldn’t share Ali’s role so willingly. Still, I think Ali’s alignment could go either way. I don’t believe that Cass and Ali are teammates, although there’s still a possibility only one of them is. But I townread both of them for now, and I was kind of unsure with voting Cass like you all did. I apologise for only now responding because I’ve been pretty much dead irl, rip. I personally feel that the chances of Lykos/Seal being a duo are very much higher than the other two possible combinations. Lía and Ben being a maf duo is out of the question as both have been able to confirm each other’s roles (although Lía could still be mafia, Ben definitely is not.), and I already stated why it wouldn’t be possible for Ali and Cass to be a maf duo. Also the behaviour and conversations between Lykos and Seal almost seems planned... I don’t know. I’m really confused. [Eliminate] Lykos.

Okay so I know what kind of position I might be in right now, however I was hoping my vote would pressure Michel into talking and I wasn't expecting it to turn out the way it did. That helps narrow it down a little bit, Cass. However, that role isn't a confirmed innocent and as such we won't know what to do regarding that information. Judging from his behaviour so far, though, I'm inclined to say it's probably a town role. The role description for the Host and the Vagrant sort of contradict each other, so I think the Host role could be better suited for Town*. Unless the role descriptions are nothing more than flavour text to throw people off. I honestly can't say much regarding reads as nothing else has really stood out for me at the moment. This might change as the day phase progresses, but I'll give a list that I should have probably stated previously: Ben: Town lean. Hasn't really done anything scummy that I've noticed, but it could be possible he's trying to blend in. Myself: Well, that's me. I know I'm town, but I don't really have anything I can say to defend myself as I have a one-time use ability and haven't used it yet. I'll expand on this if anyone wants me to do so. Seal: Too inactive to place any kind of judgement. I think he's been inactive in most games I've played with him so I was never able to see town or scummy behaviour, so I don't know what to look for here. Cass: I'm a bit iffy because of what she was revealed to be, however I honestly think her behaviour is giving me a town lean but I can never get an accurate read on her 'cause her behaviour doesn't really change much whichever faction she's on. Ali: As it stands, currently a town read. The description for the role Cass says he has kind of gives off a town vibe, but I'm not all that certain. Could just be Amber's way of messing with us. Lía: Neutral, but maybe scum lead. I've noticed that she did contribute a bit more in the first few day phases of the game than what she has now. I don't think that'll be enough for me to want to vote for her right now, however. Lykos: I'm just not sure. He's provided some good comments over the duration of the game, but I kind of feel he'd be more active if he were town? I'm not sure??? Kiet: I'd love to see him as town, I really would. But his behaviour during the game has rubbed me the wrong way... I don't know. I feel like he is scum trying to blend in here. In regards to the kill target... I can sort of see why as Bibs was contributing enough and had the behaviour to suggest he was town, but Kiet had already role claimed and Cass's role has been revealed which are both roles mafia wouldn't want to risk keeping around, unless both of them are aligned to mafia. I think I'll wait and see what happens, whilst still contributing to the best of my ability, before I decide on a vote because hopefully this day phase will give me more of an insight based on players' behaviour... and I feel waiting a bit longer would be beneficial considering we could be in a LyLo situation right now. (*EDIT: Town or Third Party. I forgot to include that during the original message)

I don't want to make a three-way tie, and right now I'm kind of inclined to believe Kiet's innocence after questioning him, but I still have doubts on him. I usually hate voting for people who seem otherwise inactive, but I feel that me placing a pressure vote on him might make him talk. [Eliminate] L'Belle. Only reason I'm doing this is because I want to believe Kiet for now, and the three-way tie could result in me being lynched and of course I don't want that. I might not be able to come back in time to change my vote if Michel provides a defence. I'm not too bothered that Kiet has voted for me because he finds me "scummy", because I see this as him trying to protect himself from being lynched (even if he's trying to point FOS onto me, I'll give him the benefit of the doubt).

You know, if we have one role that gives out items... there's a chance we have both a town-sided role like that and a mafia-sided role like that. Usually when you have one role (Gunsmith or Blacksmith for example), you have the opposite alignment equivalent (Fabricator) as well. Goes without saying, but I'd ask people to be careful of any items they receive as they could be fake. I feel like the Mismatcher (just from its name alone) would probably be more suited to the Fabricator.

Apologies for being kinda dead I fell asleep for like 14 hours rip... Imo, Kiet kind of seems a bit... scared?... of the possibility of a Vigilante, which makes me suspect him a little bit. I need to put my vote somewhere, and I might have to put it on him, if I want to stay alive (I didn't vote last day phase so I could get warned if I don't vote this phase). I mostly have town or neutral leads on everyone else, and I should trust my gut (which is giving me a scum lean on Kiet)... If he doesn't provide a good enough defence soon, I'll stick a vote on him. I don't want anyone else to follow suit unless he actually gives more scummy behaviour. I'm not too confident on this, tbh when am I ever confident on my own reads?, which is why I'm giving him a chance to defend himself before I decide.

Is it possible that Jace had an Oracle kind of role? I suppose that would probably make sense considering Cass' role was revealed upon Jace's death, and I think the phase post kind of implies that was the case. In normal situations, I'd have voted Cass right now considering Actress is a Mafia-sided role. However, this game is a completely different case. Since we have no idea which roles go with which alignment until a player with a role dies, I think we should try and get some more information from Cass. I know she won't feel obliged to give much more than she has already, but it does help out a lot. (Also I'm sorry if anything has been repeated, I have tried to read and summarise)

I would feel more comfortable voting for someone once I know what their wincon is. However, because Jace has clarified that the Worrywart is a third party role, I have my own theory. In Amber's previous games, I unfortunately got the Old Maid role in both games that I can remember it being featured and me playing in. That role had no wincon except to steal other people's roles and win as that role/alignment. If the Worrywart is like that here, then it probably has no wincon. One good thing out of keeping such a role alive is that we'd have another way of clarifying someone's alignment. Although that good thing also has its own drawbacks, such as people potentially lying about the role they have stolen. I'd prefer an elaboration, as Bibs suggested before, as it may be entirely different with this role. I'd probably decide what to do based on what the role's wincon is. Writing this up whilst playing a trial in DR V3 is really menacing lmao.

You mean Amber did include an Old Maid role as such? And it wasn't me who got it this time? Bless this game.

I would like to agree with everything you have listed so far, Ben. However, there are a couple of changes I'd like to address. Here are some of my thoughts regarding some of the roles: I'm not too sure about other role possibilities. If anyone has anything else to add then feel free to do so. I'm stumped on what other roles could be. hey look spoiler tags am i cool now

I just want to say that I was "anonymously" contacted last night phase. I'm not sure how that helps, but I was told to reveal that information by the person themselves. Unfortunately, it seems that the "anonymous" person was Drak as I don't see any other roles capable of doing such (although some of these descriptions are very vague, or at least not obvious to me). I'm not sure why Drak would have chosen me if that was the case, although it could have been a random selection or meddling from another role? I'm not sure, but I think our best bet would probably be to figure out the descriptions of roles given before we do anything else, unless anyone has any leads otherwise. I feel that it would be better to do this as early as we could, as I think the roles are all randomised (considering the list has "guaranteed townies" and one "guaranteed evil", any role unless stated otherwise could belong to any faction.) and getting that situation out of the way could prove beneficial to town. Thoughts? I won't reveal the contents of the message just in case there is a second messenger role.

I do like Dive’s suggestion, but there’s a flaw with this. Aren’t there only 3 power roles in the game right now? That means that we’re going to be more likely to lynch a VT than we are the last mafia member, unless we’re hit by a stroke of luck and find the last member today. Anyway, I don’t know how I feel about Cass vs Michel right now. Part of me wants to think they’re both town, but I admittedly don’t know how to read either of them. Something silly I’d like to add just for banter (and to see reactions mostly) — Ali, don’t you usually get killed early on? This isn’t me saying he might be mafia, I actually disagree with Lía’s vote. How does it feel to still be alive?
