They could just have him resign from his position before the PC battles him. He could be a former gym leader just like Cal. Like I said, she could be the champion battle, without technically being the official champion. I mean, Adrienn is basically running the Reborn League right now, and they don't consider Lin to be the champion.
-
Not in my books. Technically, a league challenger has to beat the rest of the league before facing the champion. AFAWK, Lin hasn't done that. Secondly, instead of fighting the champion on the champion's terms, she fought the champion on her (Lin's) terms. For example, she didn't fight Ame on Ame's preferred field. Lin fought her on the field that gave herself the advantage [She also probably counter-teamed Ame with intel she got from Bennett]. Also, as hinted by Marcello in his dev blog post, Lin has an Illegal and/or Bullshit team. Not a fair fight at all. She may be the champion fight, but like Adrienn said, I wouldn't consider her the champion.

[E19] Thoughts and speculations (SPOILERS)
Progfan_r replied to RocketOSullivan's topic in Reborn City
Also Lin is basically the champion battle. Not that anyone doubted it, but it's mostly confirmed now. -
As of E18, the New World Field doesn't allow weather. I doubt they'll change that. It's also unlikely that we'll fight Lin on a field other than the New World Field.

[E19] Thoughts and speculations (SPOILERS)
Progfan_r replied to RocketOSullivan's topic in Reborn City
Off-topic but is there any hint that the PC will be able to get a Pulse2 mon in E19? -
I don't think this is the right place to post the question. But anyway - Do you have the Mega Z-ring? Without it you cannot mega-evolve. Is your pokemon equipped with the correct mega stone? If not, it cannot mega-evolve. But if you do have the above correctly: To mega-evolve in battle, you need to select the Fight option in the main menu (when the screen shows Fight/Pokemon/bag/Run). Then you need to press the right key. To find the right key, check in the Controls menu, it is the 'Special/autosort' key. In my case it is the "A" letter key. I don't remember if I set it that way, or if it is the default key. Once you do press the right key, the mega-evolution symbol should appear above just above your move names.

Grass/Steel and Bug/Steel are extremely good defensive type combinations despite the 4x Fire weakness.

I tried searching too and couldn't find any of them. Can you please let me know the ones you have found? -
*SPOILERS* A question about the ring sidequest
Progfan_r replied to Hannelore's topic in Reborn City
To continue the quest, you need to go to the Grand Hall. Arclight is supposed to be in the lower right area of the main hall. But if the wiki says that you have to wait and get the next badge, you may have to wait until then. -
Pokemon Empire are looking for people to help. Pokemon Empire
-
If I recall correctly, the AI does 'see' abilities. Even if a pokemon can have multiple abilities, the AI will know which one your mon has. There was a post recently where Cass commented on this. Of course, this applies for the latest released version and may change in the next version.
-
The Glitch field makes the mechanics similar to gen 1 mechanics. So Dark and Steel types get changed to Normal. So there's no mon which is immune to Mewtwo's Psychic type attack. Sandile won't work. It might work.
-
I will second Pokemon Empire. Also, considering that they are rom hacks, Pokemon Gaia and Pokemon Rocket Edition are pretty good.
-
In time, Pokemon Empire may well sit comfortably among Reborn and the rest of the best. I'm playing through it right now, and am thoroughly impressed with everything I have seen so far. I'll probably make a post about it sometime in the future.
-
No, it's on the Holy Field. In fact, it's the 'Holiness' of the field that lets Ditto transform into Arceus. Please ignore my comment. I was wrong.
-
Terra. Unless you have a team specifically designed to face her, she's a terror on that Glitch field. And that's not mentioning that you have to face a Gen 1 Mewtwo before battling her. Max HP-Shore Up-Synthetic Seed-Amnesia Palossand Unaware-Max HP-Max Defense-Amnesia Quagsire AV Draco Meteor Garchomp. It gets even worse if you play in SET mode without using items in battle.

Absolutely love all the changes. They will certainly improve the gameplay experience.

Beldum and Charmander out
Progfan_r replied to Glycine's topic in Pokemon Reborn Breeding Club's Trading Center
Not that I need it, but I'm curious. How did you get the 5 IVs Beldum? Due to it being gender-less, breeding it is an extremely annoying affair. -
Excadrill should definitely have Iron Head over Smart Strike. One of the 7th street tutors can teach it. Viable items for Excadrill: Groundium-Z, Rockium-Z, Life Orb, Soft Sand A-Ninetales can be bred to have Moonblast and Freeze Dry. Nasty Plot could also be an option, but it isn't as good. I feel that Thunder Punch on Infernape is a better option than Gunk Shot. Gunk Shot only hits Fairies and can miss. Thunder Punch is boosted by Iron Fist and hits Flying and Water types. I agree with the suggestion of a bulky/offensive grass-type for your last mon. A bulky water-type could work too. Something like Araquanid. Or perhaps Milotic.
-
Damn right! I expect more from you folks than I ever did from GF.
-
I second RebornFan7's recommendation that Surf doesn't fit Swampert's build. Rock Slide is a good suggestion. Stealth Rock might also help depending on the battle. I also agree with the Klefki recommendation. Freeze Dry is IMO better than Ice Beam on Vanilluxe as it lets it hit Water types super-effectively. Blizzard is more than enough for raw damage. Life orb/Choice Specs for even more power. Ampharos could be made a mega if you want it to be fully offensive. Klefki has a low HP base stat. So it might be more efficient to max the HP EVs and distribute the remaining between the Def and Sp. Def stats. Also I would favour Foul Play over Flash Cannon. Roseli berry on Hydreigon doesn't help much considering its 4x weakness. I would go with Dragonium-Z and Draco Meteor (over Fly) for the added power. Even Dragon Pulse can be replaced for some coverage move. I also concur with Motorteo about the speed level of the team. 1 option is to outright replace 1 member if favour of a mon with high speed.

There are some side quests that beat even this one in terms of difficulty in figuring them out. I'd say from this point on, you shouldn't put too much time into trying to solve puzzles. Take a crack at them, and if you're unsuccessful, just look for guides online.

Predictions For The End Of Reborn/Rejuvenation
Progfan_r replied to Dark Legend's topic in Reborn City
While it does seem like they exchanged mons to diversify their teams, a simpler explanation is that Luna got the Gothitelle from Radomus rather than Anna. Of course, that doesn't discount the possibility of Anna having a Gothitelle. -
