item guide pokemon desolation E5 item guide
Progfan_r replied to dragonza11's topic in Official Desolation Club's Discussions
You're supposed to do the Majira questline in Cellia. Briefly - Reach the point in the story where you finish the main quest in Cellia North and are able to do the side quests [you should also have completed the Bronze island side quest]. Go to the Teal Panthers house in Cellia North and finish Clarke's side quest. Go to the Ranger guild house in Cellia North and activate the side quest for the new Ranger guild head in Cellia. Speak to Clarke and get her to become the Cellia branch Ranger guild head. Get access to the abandoned Ranger guild house in Cellia Central. Inform Clarke so that she can move into the Cellia Central guild house. Speak to Clarke in the Cellia Central guild house and start the Ruby island side quest. Finish the Ruby island side quest and speak to Clarke again in Cellia. -
Ah okay. Did not know about Solaris's Garchomp being a Pulse2. That explains why it survived a Devastating Drake from my Noivern. Is there any visual indication for which mon is a Pulse2? But also just to clarify, the Pulse2 mons have 252 EVs and 31 IVs in all their stats, don't they? Are there any mons with illegal IVs?

This is news to me. Can you please elaborate? Or can you point to a post on the forum that does?

You can always use the speedbreeding mod. In my eyes, it's legit, and simply helps in cutting down time.

@ Yumil, You make a lot of valid points, but I have to disagree on a few counts. Yes, time doesn't flow the same way in the Dreamscape like you mentioned. Tristan also explains this to the PC in the Dreamscape; even a few hours in the Dreamscape can be years or decades in Ayrith. But, if we're to trust Ava's words (and I see no reason not to), Addenfall has been around for ~ 50 years, and the diaries talk about the Tristan and his grandfather before the town was even formed. Furthermore, Ava clearly states that Tristan was the last Normal type gym leader until he died 5 years ago. So if we do the maths for the different possibilities, the timelines still don't add up. Possibility 1: Tristan only went to the Dreamscape once before, i.e. 5 years ago when he 'died'. But then he should be old, both in Ayrith as well as the Dreamscape. Possibility 2: Tristan has repeatedly switched between Ayrith and the Dreamscape multiple times, and this is why he is young. But this would mean he should be like Shiv & Aurora, people who have (or at least, had) the power to easily return to the Dreamscape from Ayrith. But Tristan himself states that a) he does not have twins' powers, b) prefers the Dreamscape and c) only returned to Ayrith to 'save' the other citizens of Ayrith and bring them to the Dreamscape. Furthermore, nobody knows or remembers him, even in Addenfall. Either way you look at it, it doesn't add up, even with the different time behaviour in the Dreamscape. Perhaps, there's more to be revealed about him or the Dreamscape, but until we learn more, his story has to be treated with some degree of scepticism. Like I explained above, the timeline is off. The diaries in his house clearly indicate that he was perfectly fine with solitude. It's actually the grandfather that complains about the loneliness. This is where I strongly disagree with you. Setting the Silver Rise battles aside, there is no evidence of anybody seeing Tristan or even mentioning him (apart from the PC of course). Not even in Addenfall, where he was the gym leader 5 years ago! If he supposedly did not age, he should have been instantly recognisable and his reappearance should have been the talk of the town. Look at how all the other gym leaders are treated in their respective territories. Furthermore, Tristan himself clearly states something along the lines of 'people pretend I am not there'. In the timeline with his grandfather (more than 50 years ago), he lived alone and did not make friends. So it was more about him not being able to meet other people or him actively shunning other people, rather than being ignored by other people. In the timeline of 5 years ago, he was clearly known as the Normal gym leader of Addenfall, as Ava remembers his name even now. So the whole thing about 'people pretending he is not there' is only true in the current timeline. And the only way this makes sense is if nobody else can see him or talk to him. In fact, he literally disappears from sight in Cellia and the PC is the only person who seems to observe that. So IMO, whether Tristan was actually observed by other people or not is very much up for debate. The Silver Rise battles can be explained either way. Either he really battled alongside the PC, or there was some psychological/supernatural element involved and only the PC battled the trainers there. That's not what happens. Ava looks at the PC's trainer card in the Addenfall house and says that there are only 3 badges (with the Normal badge missing). Immediately after that, Connor points out that there are a bunch of Normal badges on the table in the main hall (next to the empty poke ball), and hands one to you. Hardy tells the same thing earlier when we meet him on route 3, that there's no Normal leader, and you simply get a badge without any effort. So all-in-all, there's nothing too abnormal about the Ordinary badge. The only thing that's yet to be explained is why there has been no Normal leader in 5 years. I suppose this may get explained once we get to know about the manager/champion of the Ayrith league.

Good theory and analysis. Definitely possible. It would explain why Tristan seems young, even though the Tristan of Ayrith is supposed to be much older when he died/disappeared. It also explains why the PC is the only person in Ayrith who can see him. Another clue I can think of is that Tristan only appears in Ayrith when Nova takes the Onyx stone to the Dream world. He also disappears from Ayrith when Shiv takes back the stone from Nova and returns to Ayrith. This is somewhat answered in the story. Tristan does award the PC the Ordinary badge. But it is a glamour or something of that sort like you said, and the PC does not actually possess it. The PC gets the real Ordinary badge when they visit Tristan's abandoned home with Ava and Connor.

This means that the breeding rate is low. This is because the 2 mons are of different species, the same egg group, and the same original trainer. From what you have written, it looks like you have done everything right, but you're not getting an egg. Am I understanding right? Or are you getting a Hippopotas egg, but it doesn't have Slack Off? If its the former, you just need to be patient. Put the mons in the day care, use the game speed-up button, and use a bicycle in front of the day care man. If the direction the day care man is facing has changed, it means that he has an egg. Also get the Oval Charm if you don't have it already, as it increases the breeding rate. I also believe there is a mod available that can eliminate the wait time for getting an egg.

[OFFICIAL] Desolation Devs Q&A (EP5 Thread)
Progfan_r replied to Posty's topic in Official Desolation Club's Discussions
What are the inspirations for the main NPCs? For instance, I am quite sure Shiv is based on Izaya from Durarara and that Connor is based on Fern from Reborn. -

How did you come up with the names for the various places in Ayrith? Is there a theme like in the official games? -

Why call it the Dreamscape? The name's kind of a give-away. -
[OFFICIAL] Desolation Devs Q&A (EP5 Thread)
Progfan_r replied to Posty's topic in Official Desolation Club's Discussions
Sorry if this has already been asked before, but I have a few questions. To my knowledge, there are no Field notes or any place where we can read up on the field effects. What's the reason for this? Is there any plan to introduce such a feature in the future? Will the PC be able to achieve perfection form for one of their pokemon? Is there a page where I can read the stats and other details of customer megas and perfection forms? Apart from custom megas and perfection forms, is there any other battle mechanic that you're looking to implement in the future? (For instance, the concept of crests from Rejuvenation) I know some of these questions come close to spoiler territory, but I would appreciate if you can answer them. Thanks! -
[E19] Thoughts and speculations (SPOILERS)
Progfan_r replied to RocketOSullivan's topic in Reborn City
Definitely possible. Healing the team between fights is sensible and I don't know why the main games don't have it. This was just an example off the top of my head. I didn't mean it would be exactly like that. Like you said, the four keys should play a role with each of the E4, I'm just not sure how that would work if the E4 changed. I am also thinking about all the fields where we didn't have to fight any of the main characters. To my knowledge, the following fields have never had any boss fights so far - Flower garden Starlight field Inverse field Rainbow field Holy field Swamp field New world field And these fields have only had battles with Pulse mons or lower-tier bosses - Crystal cavern Cave Murkwater Icy field Mountain Also interestingly, you can fight Connal on the Psychic terrain if he manages to set it up during either of his fights. So if I had to guess how the E4 fights would go, I would be looking at these fields. -
[E19] Thoughts and speculations (SPOILERS)
Progfan_r replied to RocketOSullivan's topic in Reborn City
This is true. That's why some people theorise that the elite four will change depending on the story choices. For example Heather, Laura, Arclight & Anna could be the E4 in the 'ideal' ending and Blake, Bennet, Fern & Elias could be the E4 in the 'true' ending. This way the E4 will either be a team that fights against Lin or a team that fights for Lin. It's possible, but the main problem I see with this theory is that all the main characters (with the exception of Sirius, Solaris, ZEL and Taka) are based off of the actual people from the original online league [This is stated by Ame]. And to my knowledge, all the characters from the online league have already been revealed in the game. One possibility I see is the mention of an unfamiliar character in the Jasper ward prophecy. If this character does exist but has somehow vanished from the current timeline, she could reappear in the final story arc and could end up being an E4 member. -
[E19] Thoughts and speculations (SPOILERS)
Progfan_r replied to RocketOSullivan's topic in Reborn City
No problem. I also mentioned that because if you're interested, there's a wealth of info and speculation in those other posts. For instance here: https://www.rebornevo.com/forums/topic/33012-elite-4-and-the-champion-of-reborn/page/2/ and here: https://www.rebornevo.com/forums/topic/37911-elite-trainers-and-where-to-find-them-reborn-theory/ Possibly. Offensively it's more threatening. Yes, all fair points. Giratina actually makes a lot more sense now that I think about. All the hints and foreshadowing throughout the game could suggest that Giratina might be one of the main antagonistic legendaries from a story point-of-view. Yes, Gen 6 was not released when the episode with the the Noel battle was released. But Ame decided to stick with Clefable for the later episodes also. This is in contrast to some other cases where the aces were actually changed (e.g. Shade's Chandelure was changed to Mimikyu). So if Ame really wanted to stick to the typing of the gym leaders, she could have changed Noel's ace. You may be right. But apart from the examples you mentioned, I was also thinking of Arclight, Radomus, Serra and Luna. In the Devon battle, despite being an Electric specialist, only half of Arclight's mons were Electric. The rest were Sound-based mons. In the Glass factory gauntlet, all the gym leaders used mons outside their type specialty. One explanation for this could be that none of these were official league battles. So if we face these characters in official matches, they could have a full type-based team. But there's also the possibility that all the elite trainers will use theme teams or dual-type teams. [After Bennet's successful acceptance in the E4, Ame mentions taking note of Bennet's 'types', not type.] I also like the possibility of facing different E4 members based on the decisions you make. Magearna definitely makes the most sense! (Steel + Fairy) Two things I forgot to mention - 1. Lin could have a Pulse mon (apart from the pulse EV-boosted mons). 2. It's still possible (albeit unlikely) for Arclight or some of the others to be elite 4 members. -
[E19] Thoughts and speculations (SPOILERS)
Progfan_r replied to RocketOSullivan's topic in Reborn City
I think similar posts have been made in the past, but what the hell, it's always fun to indulge. I think you're right about a lot of things. My thoughts - 1. Another reason Mega Charizard X makes a lot of sense for Saphira is that her mother was a Fire type trainer. We also get the Charizardite X from the quest in her mother's gym. 2. Considering that we do have to fight multiple legendary mons throughout the game, I wouldn't consider it a stretch for the elite 4 to have legendaries. I also feel that there has to be something that differentiates them from the gym leaders, and legendaries make the most sense. So if you ask me, I would guess each of them to have 1 lower-tier legendary - Anna: Jirachi Elias: Meloetta Laura: Shaymin Heather: Landorus (not sure, could also be one of the other genies or even Zapdos) Bennett: Genesect 3. For Heather's mega, I would favour Mega Pidgeot over Mega Charizard Y because she could have Talonflame (Gale Wings + Tailwind). It's possible for Elias to have Togekiss (Fairy type, Normal + Psychic coverage, Ancient Power boost). If Bennett fights alongside Laura, Parasect makes sense for him to have as it gets Rototiller. Cherrim makes sense for Laura. Lin used to be a Dragon type leader in the original Reborn league, so I expect her to have at least a couple of Dragons. Naganadel and Kyurem make sense. Naganadel because Poipole can apparently be found in the Reborn temple area and Kyurem because it is supposed to be an evil dragon. I would also expect her to have at least another Dark type like Hoopa. 4. Of course, all the above speculation assumes that the mons will be of the preferred type of the trainer, but that may not necessarily be the case (e.g. Noel has Clefable, Ciel has mega Altaria, the teams of Fern and Connal change drastically etc.). 5. The dream that Hardy has in the Glass factory could be foreshadowing of what happens in the climax of the story. I remember something about all the gym leaders banding together with the PC and fighting against Lin. 6. As for the locations for legendaries, here's my list - Heatran: Pyrous cave Regirock: Tourmaline Desert Registeel: Teknite caves Regigigas: Mysidia railcave Diancie: Iolia valley Ultra beasts / Necrozma: Reborn temple side quests Celebi: Chrysolia forest Tapu Bulu: Rhodocrine jungle Volcanion: Chrysolia spring Moltres: Pyrous mountain Articuno: Ametrine mountain Zapdos: Abandoned power plant Mew: Byxbision wall event Deoxys: Teknite ridge Uxie/Azelf/Mesprit: Tanzan cove Giratina: Byxbision wasteland Arceus: Reborn temple Groudon: Tourmaline desert Lugia: Ametrine depths Kyogre: Azurine lake Virizion: Malchous forest Regice: Citrine cave -
Sorting/moving items in bag
Progfan_r replied to Progfan_r's topic in Official Desolation Club's Discussions
Okay, thanks for the feedback. In vanilla Reborn there is at least an option to manually move items in the bag. Guess I will have to wait for an update for Desolation. -
Hello, I have a query regarding sorting bag items. I have just started playing Desolation and one thing I am having issues with is sorting items in the bag. I know there is an auto-sort button that sorts the bag items alphabetically, but I dislike doing that and prefer to sort by category with some tweaks of my own. But I do not find any button/option to do that. Is such an option not available?

Thanks! I don't know how I missed that post when I was searching earlier. The results look very promising. I will definitely give it a try. Is there any particular reason such programs aren't used by the game devs? Would love to see Essentials fan games have such texture smoothening by default.

Hello all, I absolutely love Reborn and Rejuvenation, but one thing I have always disliked about the games (including other fan-made games made with Pokemon Essentials) is that fact that the games appear highly pixelated in full-screen mode. This is unlike fan-made rom hacks where you can use filters in the emulators to vastly reduce the pixelation. Screenshots are shown below for reference and comparison. Reborn: A rom hack: Is there anyway to achieve the same level of graphics in Reborn/Rejuvenation or other Essentials games? Is anyone aware of someone who is working or has worked on something like this? The best I could find is this post on this forum from 2015.

How did you get Meech to be perfect IVs if you got it in Opal Ward and didn't breed it?

Where do I get Joltik or Galvantula? I did the event in Peridot and got a Grubbin. But I am unable to find Joltik anywhere even post-restoration.

rainbow field Rainbow field and move-type changing abilities
Progfan_r posted a topic in Reborn City
How does the rainbow field stack with move-type changing abilities like Pixilate or Galvanize? We know that in the rainbow field, special Normal moves increase in power by 1.5 times and they have a random type added. Abilities like Pixilate change the type of Normal moves to Fairy moves and increase their power by 1.2 times. But how do these 2 effects stack? Does a Pixilate and Rainbow field-boosted Hyper Voice become a pure Fairy-type move? Or does it become Fairy+ a random type? Do the power boosts stack?- 2 replies

I am searching for Teddiursa in Peridot and am unable to find it. Can someone help? I already had the first encounter near the secret pond and the one below the name rater's house. I have since searched in all the various spots (Mosswater, Blacksteam, the fountain, the garbage dumpsters, underneath Opal bridge, Seacrest's garden, Grandview station) and still can't find it. Weather is clear and I searched during the daytime. I am playing on the public release version of E18.
