http://bulbapedia.bulbagarden.net/wiki/Own_Tempo_%28ability%29 Here's a list of Own Tempo Pokemon. Nobody uses or would use any of this stuff in OU with the ability Own Tempo and also I agree with what Kamina says.
-
Klefki is pretty annoying, but only with Swagger. Maybe put Swagger on suspect list instead of Klefki?
-
It kinda does, because I already addressed the points about Genesect that you're arguing about in my earlier posts. I'm sure it is more acceptable to assume you didn't read it than for you to call me a prick, in terms of auth standards I believe. And all I'm doing is providing a counter argument to people who counter argue my arguments. This is a debate after all, are you sure you're in the right thread? I agree about Blaziken though!
-
I could respond to that and you'd need a Burn Heal, but I respect Lunari's post before yours, and I wont say anything. I don't wanna start anything with you so with that being said, don't try and start shit with me. I was fine to begin with; you're the one calling me a prick. If you want, get on the Reborn server and I'll teach you a lesson in a Pokemon battle. I think that's the most mature way to handle it instead of trying to get back at me by calling me a prick and making posts that don't make sense. Oh, and you should probably read my posts...
-
Can you please respond without calling me a douche? I wonder which Reborn rule that breaks hmmmm. Anyways, I'm making good points so you should probably take it as such and respond back likewise. I honestly don't care if Genesect is banned or not (though I support it staying in OU), but I would like to see some of the opposing side try to make a decent enough standing on this issue. Claiming that not everyone will use Heatran is a poor attempt at justifying why Genesect is Uber material because Heatran isn't the only counter/check to Genesect. Being banned from a certain tier because of how often it is used, is also a pretty bad and overused claim (PUNS LOLOL). Isn't this the Overused tier after all, for Overused Pokemon? But yeah everything else you're saying after that is pretty much just "oh it's so good" so yeah I'll leave your opinions alone.
-
Another false statement keep them coming please! The problem isn't Genesect having everything. Even though there is too much to choose from, it most certainly can't have everything at the same time. Plus like I said before, you can't ban something because it's unpredictable; that just shows you're scared. You should probably read my other posts because I'm not going to repeat the same stuff over and over again.
-
If that's the case, then it would narrow down the possible sets of what it could be. That doesn't change what Pokemon will counter/check it. True, the listed counters/checks can be weak to moves that Genesect can use, but that is why it is called a check. A check is a Pokemon that cannot necessarily switch into a certain Pokemon, but can scare it out or revenge kill it. Take Terrakion for example. Not many Pokemon can switch safely into a Choice Banded Close Combat, however, there are a plethora of Pokemon that can safely check it, (like Scizor, or Breloom). You don't really need to know what set Genesect is running beforehand in order to beat it. Good team-building can do that for you, though while you're in battle, generally people don't have more than 1 Choice Scarf user, so if you see any other Scarf-mon then Genesect is most likely not a Choice Scarf user. Similarly, if you see a Choice Banded Pokemon that isn't Genesect, the Genesect that they'll have is probably not a Choice Banded set. It just takes some thinking but ultimately I don't see that as a reason to ban the Pokemon, especially since there are many Pokemon in the 6G Meta to beat it. For the Dragonite example that you gave, even though there are a variety of possible sets you can use, there are in fact defined answers to it, (like Clefable, Mamoswine, etc). Counters/Checks can change with varying sets, meaning that with one moveset, there are a certain set of counters/checks, and with another moveset, there can be another certain set of counters/checks (example: Scarf Genesect: Chansey; Band Genesect: Landorus-T), but there will always be defined answers to all Pokemon in general (example: Genesect: Heatran, Rotom-H, etc). Unpredictability is always a natural factor of competitive battling and one shouldn't be afraid of what they don't fully understand.
-
I've given really good reasons as to why Genesect shouldn't be banned. I haven't seen you give one other than "it's an obvious freelo train" which in my opinion is a bogus claim if you can't back it up. Plus what are you even talking about? Genesect has always had one weakness and we never banned it in Gen 5. And in Gen 6, when it loses 2 resistances you want to ban it hello? Logic101. And I have no idea what you mean by "too many things better than others" and "better defenses" that just made absolutely no sense.
-
This statement is entirely false. It is in fact the Genesect users that promote originality, since there are so many different types of move-sets you can possibly use (Choice Scarf, Choice Band, Life Orb, Expert Belt, Rock Polish, Focus Sash, Shift Gear, Techno Blast, and the list goes on), and with creativity, newer sets can be made (I myself have even used a Magic Coat Genesect set on the Reborn Ladder once for fun/trolling). And the meta will be entirely balanced with all the changes implemented from this thread (bar Genesect moving from OU). Anyways, before I begin, I'd like to point out some of the key changes between Gen 5 and Gen 6. I can admit, that during Gen 5, Genesect might have stood a chance as being a worthy suspect. I'm not quite sure I can say the same about Gen 6. - The Steel type loses it's Dark and Ghost type resistance making stuff like Aegislash and Mega Mawile (Sucker Punch) for example, a worthy combatant against certain Genesect sets. - The invention of the Assault Vest, ensuring capability of tanking Special hits and retaliating hard with KO'ing moves (for example, AV Conkeldurr is an all around check to most Genesect sets). - New widely used priority users such as Talonflame allow for CB Brave Bird to OHKO Genesect right off the bat, and Klefki can cripple it and resist most of its attacks. This is only the tip of the iceberg. Besides the new stuff however, the same old counters and checks remains the same. The thing with Genesect, is that depending on the set, certain counters/checks don't work, however, it opens up other counters/checks against Genesect. For example, a Choice Banded Genesect may be able to beat Chansey/Blissey which are able to wall its Choice Scarf (and other Special Attacking) sets, however, this now makes Genesect vulnerable to Pokemon that are over base 100 speed (For example, Victini, Infernape, Terrakion, etc). Plus, most offensive teams that generally don't have a wall like stall teams do for Genesect either keep a fast Choice Scarf user which often times outruns Genesect (since many today's revenge killers are over base 100 speed), or a strong priority user with Mach Punch which also can take down Genesect after some residual damage. We never banned Genesect from 5G OU, so why, with all the newly added ways to beat it should we ban it from 6G OU? I vote no ban.

I agree with everything except Genesect being moved into Ubers. Genesect has way too many checks in the XY metagame to be moved from OU. I'll list full details about this if needed.

:] Definitely coming back to defend my title! -
This team isn't even average, but it's good to know you like Pokemon! My favorite from your 6 is Pikachu. It's where it all began.

Just a heads up, Kangaskhan is on that list of usable Pokemon, however, Mega Kangaskhan is #4 on the usage statistics (ban list), therefore Mega Kangaskhan is banned, but regular Kangaskhan is usable! -

This will be a good opportunity to make some of the Pokemon that aren't really used in the OU tier shine! (as well as improve team-building skills) :] -
[PokerZard] Charizard (F) @ (No Item) Trait: Blaze EVs: 252 HP / 252 Atk Adamant Nature (+Atk, -SAtk) - Outrage - Toxic - Roar - Fly/Dig Popular Charizard set back in the gen 5 days made by a friend; bringin him back for gen 6. This set is designed to fake out people, so they will send in a non steel, and get Toxic + Outraged to death. 252 HP makes it pretty bulky and 252 Atk for power. Fly works with Toxic PERFECTLY. This set goes good with stuff like Dig Sandslash and Fly Dodrio also, for they can help toxic to get some extra, very important KO's. If you don't like to fly cause of airplane restrictions, try a simple move like Dig: you are immune to the 2x effect Earthquake gives making it a perfect choice to kill anything who dares switches in that isnt flying. Roar is PERFECT because if they catch on, you are a pzard you can go RAWWWWWR and scare them away from the battle and if its a wild battle and you don’t want to fight but they're on a higher level and faster, you can just roar so you don’t have to deal with that "i can’t escape" bullshit. Pokerzard is very very, VERY, very revolutionary, and has few counters, one being anything steel typed. Another is immunity Snorlax, or anything who resists status, but Snorlax has to be at like +6 to not die from the Outrage its so badass! You may be wondering why he’s packing both Outrage and Toxic. It actually creates perfect coverage barring the Steel type. Outrage gets destroyed by everything and if you run into a wall, just use Toxic. By not having an item you are playing a CRAZY mind game, your battler will be thinking, “wow no Shell Bell, no Choice Scarf or Band, or MegaStone and I don’t see any glasses, what item does he have?? What if its ROCKY HELMET? I CANT ATTACK SAFELY!” adding a whole new mind game, making it hard for them to attack you. Sometimes people think Charizard looks like Dragonite, so people might send in a steel at first but when they recognize the tail and the more orange body structure, they will switch out, and get Toxic'd, then Outraged, then lose. Always pay attention, Charizard is NOT Dragonite.

[it's Your Choice] Delphox (F) @ Choice Specs Trait: Blaze EVs: 16 HP / 252 SAtk / 240 Spd Timid Nature (+Spd, -Atk) - Fire Blast - Psyshock - Grass Knot - Switcheroo With a great Special Attack, solid move coverage, and a pretty good speed, Delphox has fair game as a Choice Specs user. Fire Blast and Psyshock tear apart Pokemon with blazing power. Grass Knot is for Pokemon like Tyranitar, which can otherwise Pursuit trap Delphox, as well as other kinds of Pokemon like Quagsire, Gastrodon, etc. Switcheroo is the same as Trick pretty much (except Delphox can't learn Trick). It helps to cripple opposing walls or bulky set up sweepers, such as Blissey, Reuniclus, Suicune, etc. 240 Speed EV's allow you to outrun base 102 speed Pokemon, such as Garchomp.

[The Dancing Snake] Serperior (F) @ Lum Berry Trait: Overgrow EVs: 16 HP / 252 Atk / 240 Spd Jolly Nature (+Spd, -SAtk) - Swords Dance - Leaf Blade - Aqua Tail / Outrage - Knock Off Sword Dance Serperior is quite interesting, and can work well against unprepared teams. Lum Berry cures any Burn or status condition you might get along the way. 240 Speed allows you to outspeed base 111 speed Pokemon such as max speed Thunderus (you don't really need any more than that). Leaf Blade is it's strongest physical grass type move, which works great after Sword Dance especially with that high critical hit ratio. There is a trade off between Aqua Tail and Outrage. Aqua Tail allows you to break through stuff like Heatran and Landorus-T, while Outrage lets you hit stuff like Dragonite and Charizard-X. Because Knock Off gets the boost in this generation, Serperior can actually use it against stuff like Aegislash, Lati@s, and other Pokemon, and have a chance as a successful Sword Dance Sweeper (provided your opponent's team is unprepared for it.

Here is a brief tutorial to Competitive Battling. Rule 1: Proper Team-building (Use Smogon Analysis for movesets/EV's, Build type-synergistic teams, Have good meta-game threat coverage) Rule 2: Lots of Practice (Ladder on Main PO Server frequently; the Reborn ladder means nothing unless you're #1, which requires beating me). Rule 3: Prediction Skills (Your ability to team-build and the amount of practice you undertake mean nothing unless you have good prediction skills against your opponent) From experience, I have attained #1 in the OU tier on the main PO server, Reborn, as well as many other servers.

The Research Center is not a good place to be dumb, Ryan. Phoenix Taillow (M) @ Flame Orb Trait: Guts EVs: 36 HP / 236 Atk / 236 Spd Jolly Nature (+Spd, -SAtk) - Brave Bird - Facade - Rest - Sleep Talk Anyways, here's a neat set. I'm not experienced in LC but in theory it would work. Basically Flame Orb works to boost with Guts, and Facade (just like Kamina's set), however, here is an interesting little twist. You can go for Rest to regain health (incredibly useful when working with Brave Bird), and put yourself to Sleep (which will still power up Guts), so you can spam Sleep Talk and hit with good power. Can help prevent your Taillow from suffering unnecessary deaths, we don't want this baby bird to die before reaching adulthood!

Nice finals game vs you Kamina :] and thanks Reevee!
