Ladder News and Introducing Interviews
Lord Emvee replied to Amethyst's topic in News and Announcements
This is ridiculous. I won this ladder competition fair and square. I was #1 on the ladder for this competition and I never sniped anyone. I admit I have tested brand new teams in other accounts to see if they're good. That and sniping are 2 very different things. If my accomplishments go un awarded, then my previous suspicions are correct: This ladder competition is rigged. It's rigged so that anyone who does well gets nothing out of it because someone always tries to snitch on the winner or get the authorities to find some excuse to kick people out. Ultimately, people who work hard get nothing. I was excited for this being the first competition on Reborn that I would win. I guess I was wrong. I've helped so many of the members here with their teams, and then seeing stuff like this really disappoints me, and gives me a very bad impression of this community. -
Yeah Shanco you better be charging tutoring for free you don't even know how to make your own team so what makes you think you can tutor lol! Anyways if anyone needs tutoring from me the #1 in OU it's free but donations are welcome. Find me on the server whenever you want.

Thanks for the rate Chem I'll let you know about what I think when I meet you next. Also let's not lock my thread brother Ikaru, I worked hard on it! Shanco you didn't have to call him out but thanks for making my RMT "Hot" i guess.

@Hedron: You're right, Kabutops is very fast. But that only holds true when there is rain on the field. If you want any chance of sweeping when the weather isn't in your favor, Aqua Jet is the best option. I'm not saying what Moony says is wrong, I'm just saying that there are just many options for that last move-slot, and honestly you can use whichever works better for you. For me personally however, I prefer Aqua Jet, since if you've already SD'd to +2 and the weather changes on you, you can still hit faster stuff and have a good chance to OHKO, since Kabutops should only be used in late-game scenarios (as I have described throughout my RMT). Thanks for dropping in a comment!

All right now that you have fixed it I shall give a proper rate. The first thing that stood out to me is that you have 2 Pokemon with Stealth Rocks. This is unnecessary, thus I recommend swapping out your lead Aerodactyl with a different lead, such as Lead Breloom: Breloom @ Focus Sash Trait: Technician EVs: 252 Atk / 252 Spe / 4 SDef Adamant Nature (+Atk, -SAtk) - Spore - Sword Dance - Bullet Seed - Mach Punch Lead Breloom works by putting 1 of your opponent's Pokemon to Sleep without worrying about getting OHKO'd due to Focus Sash, and giving you a chance for an early set-up. It works against most common leads, and gives you one less Pokemon that is weak to Water type. I would also recommend switching out Aggron, because its efficiency level in this meta game is rather low. In its place, I recommend anything along the lines of Choice Band Dragonite, which not only gives you one less Pokemon that is weak to Water type, but also hits wayyyy harder than Aggron does and gives you a Dragon/Flying type which your team doesn't have yet. It also works well under Trick Room. Now that I've covered the main issues of the team, I'll move on to each individual set that needs some polishing up: For Jellicent, go with Relaxed/Sassy Nature over Modest nature (since Jellicent is meant to be more Defensive-like, and replace Will-O-Wisp for Shadow Ball (as Scald has a good enough chance of burning anyways) Replace Bronzong's set entirely with this: Bronzong @ Life Orb Trait: Levitate EVs: 252 HP / 252 Atk / 4 SDef Brave Nature (+Atk, -Spd) - Trick Room - Gyro Ball - Earthquake - Explosion This Bronzong set works pretty well. It's quite simple, under Trick Room, Bronzong becomes an absolute powerhouse, doing lots of damage with Gyro Ball and Earthquake. Explode when necessary. I believe after these edits you should find your team more solid to use. Make sure for the Pokemon with a reduced Speed nature that you give them 0 Speed IV's Hope it helps!

@Blast: Hey buddy thanks for dropping by. The choice between Rock Slide and Stone Edge is yours entirely. Whether you prefer accuracy over power or power over accuracy is totally up to you. Also, don't forget that for Garchomp, I'm not running a sand team so the usual set people use on sand teams isn't necessary for this one.

Few issues with the team: - Change Xatu's set to this: Xatu (F) @ Rocky Helmet Trait: Magic Bounce EVs: 252 HP / 176 Def / 24 SDef / 56 Spd Calm Nature (+SDef, -Atk) - Thunder Wave - Roost - Psychic / Future Sight - U-turn This will ensure you outrun Adamant Breloom. You also ensure you have enough Defense to take hits when you switch in on Skarmory, Ferrothorn, Forretress, Sableye, etc, as you reflect their stuff. Rocky Helmet is awesome for your opponent to take extra damage on Physical attacks. I added Future Sight as an option because it looks fun to use on Xatu. - You're missing 4 EV's on Ludicolo give it to HP. You also don't need both Hydro Pump and Surf on Ludicolo. Better off with Focus Blast. - Go with Iron Plate on Scizor, so you can bluff CB U-Turns a lot better. - Go with Focus Blast on Tornadus-T over HP Grass. As for threats, I can't see how you beat Sub CM Rachi. Lando is the only one that can even attempt to kill Jirachi, but it can't. For example, I Sub when your Lando isn't in. You switch into Lando. You have 2 options. U-Turn, or Earthquake. U-Turn can't break sub and Water Pulse should 2 hit KO Lando should you choose to stay in and Earthquake.
-
@49: Hey buddy long time no see how you been? :] - With my current Tornadus, Breloom has 0 chances of setting up. For example, say if it sets up SD immediately as I switch into Tornadus-T. Mach Punch will not OHKO, so I can take it out that way. Now say if Breloom Spores me as I switch into Tornadus. This is even better, because Sleep Talk has priority due to Prankster, and will move before any other move, including Mach Punch. I have found that the added power Tornadus with Specs allows me to 2 hit KO certain Pokemon, whereas the Therian form gives me a 3 hit KO. You are right though, that Tornadus-T's bulk will most likely prove to be effective in the long run, but my suggestion is to keep Tornadus as healthy as possible, either by sending it in towards late-game, or using Wish support from Jirachi. - The necessity for Wish support on this team is high, as many members of this team are unable to heal themselves. Ferrothorn can be a bother, but Hurricane 2 hit KO's every Ferrothorn. If the opponent chooses not to let it stay in, they will most likely end up sacking Pokemon, as not many Pokemon in this meta game can take Specs Hurricane very well, other than Ttar and SDef Rachi. Keep in mind though that I also have Focus Blast, so opponents may definitely screw up their predictions. We also kinda have to accept the fact that in gen 5, not every Pokemon in the meta game can be easily beaten anymore with just 6 Pokemon. That was gen 4. Perhaps that defensive CM Wish rachi that I've seen might be a good alternative to my current set, as it allows me to keep Wish support while being able to set up on Ferrothorn. - Aqua Jet on Kabutops specifically helps dealing with QD Volcarona, as it is one of 2 checks to the boosted Pokemon. It also helps to clean out already weakened Pokemon. Rapid Spin is not needed, as Kabutops loses some of its offensive value. Thank you for the rate! @Moony: Thanks for the rate bro! Low Kick could work, I just like how Aqua Jet lets me win when I lose the weather war against Sand teams. For a Pokemon like Kabutops with many possibilities, trade-offs must be made, despite having such a great potential. @Conor: Hey man thanks for the rate! - Your first point addresses the exact opposite of what it should be. You say that Life Orb is better on my current Tornadus, however it isn't because it is better on Tornadus-T due to it's ability Regenerator. Also, I don't need another Pokemon with Rain Dance seeing that my Politoed is Defensive and able to live for a long time. Plus I've never lost a weather war on the reborn ladder to anyone. - No way I'm changing Kabutops. It is far from being outclassed. It is underrated, and people abuse Kingdra too much (making Kingdra a very generic Pokemon on Rain teams). I don't see what added benefit Kingdra gives, as Kabutops literally has even more power than Kingdra, and has more coverage.

@Kamina: Thank you for the rate! The main reason why I choose to run regular Tornadus over Tornadus-T is because of the extra power regular Tornadus gets, and the priority Sleep Talk attains from Prankster. Wish from Jirachi can be used to heal Tornadus at opportune moments. (: @Difficult: Thanks for the rate! I'll address your points one by one: - Perish Song and Encore are both very useful, as they both function quite differently. One major difference between the two, is that Encore is good for immediate effect, and Perish Song is good for long term. Say for example you have Reuniclus setting up CM on you. Encore will immediately prevent it from attacking you since it is now locked onto Calm Mind. Following up with Perish Song will force it to switch when Encore ends. Assume you had one or the other. Encore would keep it setting up, but you would have no way to phaze it out, as it will just set up gladly and Recover once Encore has ended. Perish Song on the other hand would force it out in 3 turns, however, it would be able to set up at least +1, and hit you once or twice. Now assume you are facing a standard Baton Pass team. Solid Baton Pass teams keep both Espeon and Mr. Mime. Espeon is immune to Taunt, pure status moves, and Encore. On the other hand, Mr. Mime is immune to Perish Song, as it has Soundproof. Keeping both is quite useful, because you'll be able to deal with every situation you come across (Encore as your opponent passes into Mr. Mime, and so they are locked onto Baton Pass, They will Baton Pass out since that's their only move they can do, and you Perish Song respectively), For many reasons, I choose to use both Perish Song and Encore, and ultimately it has proved most effective. As for the change in EV's, I wouldn't really want to Encore a Politoed's Toxic, since I would rather Toxic it myself. - Ferrothorn is a great lead, as it cannot be trapped due to Shed Shell, and it can choose to set up if safe or switch out if the situation is dangerous. Most often, opponents don't lead with heavy threats. They mainly either scout, or set up on their own. This is why Ferrothorn fits in fine as a lead. As I have explained in my RMT, you only set up Stealth Rocks if it is safe. You wouldn't leave her in there if you're up against a threat, so it technically isn't a suicide lead. Protect is there to scout for threatening moves if you feel like doing so. Leech Seed isn't needed because I have Wish support from Jirachi. - The post addressed to Kamina explains why I use this form over the Therian form. Specs Tornadus doesn't mean hit and run. It means hit and hit some more. Also, Prankster has an impact on Sleep Talk. - Dragon Claw doesn't KO all the threats out there, which is why it is essential to also keep Outrage. Revenge killer doesn't mean the opponent has to be weakened already. It just means that if you have to end up sacking a Pokemon due to an opponent using Dragon Dance or Quiver Dance, you'll be able to send this guy in afterward and kill whatever killed your last Pokemon. Fire Blast is most certainly not necessary as I am running a Rain Team. Read my description of Garchomp in my RMT as to why I choose Aqua Tail over Stone Edge. Chance of Flame Body burn from Volc is not too high, and depending on how weak Volc is I can always just KO with Earthquake. - Absolutely no way I am changing the moveset for Kabutops. I've experimented with all possibilities in the past and my set works the best. Take my word for it haha. - As for the threat list... 1. Garchomp can check Thunderus and easy OHKO. Jirachi can withstand all sets except Nasty Plot. 2. Cores are not considered threats. Each individual Pokemon you listed has an answer. The rest is based on how well you can outplay your opponent. 3. Celebi + Heatran most definitely does not wall my team. Easy predictions can destroy them both. 4. Sub CM Rachi is the most bothersome, but is answered by Garchomp and Politoed. Overall, I'm not really weak to anything you said, but I liked your post because you worked hard on it :]

. Ancient Rain ------------------------------------------------------- Intro Hello Reborn Community. I have returned once again to dominate our servers OU ladder, since the ladder reset which occurred quite recently deleted my old OU rank. If you guys remember my old RMT which I posted quite a while ago, I achieved rank 1 with a solid sand team. This time, I thought I'd change things up a bit. I present to you a very strong Reborn Drizzle team, which is centralized around Kabutops. In my opinion, Kabutops is one of the best rain sweepers in the meta game, since it literally annihilates everything it can hit neutrally or super effectively after Swords Dance. So far I have achieved rank 1 with 1501 points, and I am sure that I will climb even higher. Nevertheless, I present to you all, "Ancient Rain", a balanced Drizzle team featuring Air Balloon Kabutops. Proof of Success Team Preview Team Building Process Team In Depth Ferrothorn @ Shed Shell | Iron Barbs Sassy | 248 HP / 4 Atk / 108 Def / 148 SpD Stealth Rock | Thunder Wave | Protect | Power Whip Ferrothorn is an awesome lead, as it answers to many different opposing Pokemon that opponents might possess, such as Politoed, Hippowdon, Thunderus, Landorus, Cloyster, Genesect, etc. Usually I lead off with Stealth Rocks unless the opposing Pokemon is a threat. Overall though it is important to get rocks up as early in the game as possible, so you can break sashes or weaken certain types of Pokemon such as Dragonite or Volcarona. Having good survival standards, Ferrothorn is not an easy Pokemon to KO, if you play him correctly. Thunder Wave helps to cripple opposing high-speed threats. Protect lets me scout the field in the beginning. For example, in the event of a Genesect lead, one can use Protect to see whether he is trying to U-Turn or Flamethrower. Finally, Power Whip is my main STAB move which hits pretty hard depending on what you aim it on. Shed Shell of course is to escape annoying trappers like Magnezone or Chandelure. ------------------------------------------------------- Politoed @ Leftovers | Drizzle Calm | 252 HP / 252 Def / 4 SpD Scald | Toxic | Encore | Perish Song Politoed makes this team possible with Drizzle, initiating the rain that the team needs. I chose to run Bulky Toed since it is important for this team that the rain is kept the dominant weather in the battle. Scald is the standard main STAB move and has nice chance of Burn. Toxic allows me to status up Pokemon that may give me trouble in the long-run. Encore and Perish Song are an awesome combo for a variety of reasons. Firstly, they completely shut down Baton Pass teams. Secondly, Pokemon have a tough time setting up because they get forced to switch. An example of this is CM Reuniclus, which gets out-sped and Encored very easily. Perish Song also helps to finish off that very last Pokemon you have trouble beating. In my opinion, these two moves are quite essential on Bulky Politoeds. ------------------------------------------------------- Tornadus @ Choice Specs | Prankster Timid | 4 Def / 252 SpA / 252 Spe Hurricane | Focus Blast | Hidden Power [ice] | Sleep Talk Tornadus is an amazing special attacker which gets extremely more potent when you add Choice Specs to it. It is able to outrun many fast Pokemon since it has a base 111 Speed. Hurricane blasts through opposing Pokemon with pure force. It is also its main STAB move. Focus Blast helps to beat Ferrothorn, Heatran, and Tyranitar. It also helps to hit opposing Jirachi for neutral damage. Hidden Power Ice is mainly for coverage, as it hits Pokemon like Gliscor, Dragonite etc a lot better. The final move slot was rather tricky for me. Initially I ran Tailwind so that in case Ferrothorn died too early I could still beat opposing Swift Swimmers by using Tailwind and outrunning them my other Pokemon. However, I also noticed that by keeping Tailwind I was more vulnerable to the likes of Breloom, as I had to fodder off one Pokemon to Spore and try and predict from there. Thus, I decided to run Sleep Talk, as it now makes me less vulnerable to Breloom. I can switch in on Spore, and spam Choice Specs Sleep Talk, which is awesome since you can now have access to all your moves without being locked on. With this trade off however, you must be more wary of your opponents team, and keep Ferrothorn and Jirachi as long as possible if you see your opponent using a Drizzle team. Sleep Talk works under its ability Prankster, which is simply AWESOME! ------------------------------------------------------- Jirachi @ Leftovers | Serene Grace Sassy | 252 HP / 4 Def / 252 SpD Iron Head | Thunder | Wish | Protect Jirachi is great for this team as its Fire weakness gets cut out in the rain. It also give me the ability to switch in on opposing Hurricanes from Tornadus. Possessing a very high special defense, Jirachi is able to withstand a variety of special attacking threats. Iron Head + Thunder is my para-flinch move duo. I chose to run Thunder over Body Slam since Skarmory would otherwise be a bother to deal with. Wish + Protect helps Jirachi to heal itself, as well as any other members of the team that need it. ------------------------------------------------------- Garchomp @ Choice Scarf | Sand Veil Jolly | 4 HP / 252 Atk / 252 Spe Outrage | Dragon Claw | Earthquake | Aqua Tail Garchomp is my revenge killer for this team. He works very well to outrun Pokemon that have boosted to +1 such as Dragonite, Salamence, Volcarona, etc. He also gives me another Pokemon that can take electric hits. Outrage is basically for when you know that the rest of your opponent's team is weakened and/or not steel type. It will allow you to clean up anything still alive with high powered STAB. Dragon Claw on the other hand, is if you want to hit consistent damage without being locked on. The trouble with being locked onto Outrage is that your opponent might re-revenge kill you, and/or wall you with a steel type. This is why Dragon Claw is also one of the move options, as you can hit without worrying about being locked onto Outrage. Earthquake is essential STAB which helps against Jirachi and other annoying Pokemon to this team. The final move-slot was a choice either between Stone Edge and Aqua Tail. Since I'm running a Drizzle team, Aqua Tail works better. It also helps me to hit neutral damage on Bronzong, unlike Stone Edge which is not very effective. Sand Veil sometimes helps me dodge stuff, assuming your opponent has sand up when Garchomp is out. ------------------------------------------------------- Kabutops @ Air Balloon | Swift Swim Adamant | 4 HP / 252 Atk / 252 Spe Swords Dance | Waterfall | Aqua Jet | Stone Edge Saving the best for the last, I present to you all, Air Balloon Kabutops! I usually run Air Balloon on Excadrill as well, and using that idea, I paralleled it to Kabutops to make it the "Excadrill of the Rain". It's really amusing to watch people attempting to Earthquake my Kabutops when my Air Balloon is still in tact. Not to mention that it provides me with opportunities to set up, for instance, if Landorus is out and locked onto a Scarf Earthquake. Sword Dance gets my already blazing high attack even higher. After one Sword Dance, it's pretty much gg as long as the rain is still up and provided you killed your opponents Ferrothorn already. Waterfall and Stone Edge are self explanatory, and are your two main attacks. Aqua Jet is for priority, in case the weather has changed and you still feel like going for the sweep. Having Aqua Jet is amazing because it makes it even possible to sweep if you lose the weather war. But yeah, cheers to Kabutops, the inspiration of this team. ------------------------------------------------------- Conclusion So that concludes yet another RMT. As always, I hope you all enjoyed it, because I took a lot of time to make this for you all. As a reminder, this team has currently achieved #1 on the Reborn ladder, and I'm happy to be able to share it with everyone, in hopes you too can make it up there. If anyone is interested to use this team, the importable is down below in the spoiler box. To use this team, I would suggest you get Stealth Rocks up with Ferrothorn as early as possible (only if you know you can do so without sacrificing it or wounding it too badly), play conservatively by making good predictions and switches, make good use of Jirachi's Wish to keep vital Pokemon alive, and only reveal Kabutops when you know you can sweep or during the late game. Shout out to google for providing me with these awesome images. All comments are welcome, and encouraged since I worked really hard on this. Thanks again for taking the time to visit my latest RMT! Grats on #1! Should have taken it to at least 1500 then RMT'd the team T_T Anyways, I remember facing this team numerous times on my journey to #1. You're quite weak to hard rain teams, since Gastrodon is the only one that can take water moves on your team. One miss predict when a Specs/Scarf Politoed uses HP Grass will cost you the game. It's tough to keep something like Gastrodon alive in this Swift Swim meta game, especially since you're running a more offensive form. To solve this problem, I would recommend you switch Garchomp for either EBelt Latios or CM Latias (depending if your team would like the pure offensive approach Latios, or the bulkier offensive approach Latias). One of these options would be extremely beneficial to your team, as it adds another water resist.. Now, make these edits and then try and break my Reborn OU record of 1603 (:
-
This team is pretty much exactly this team, which was posted on Smogon in 2011. http://www.smogon.com/forums/showthread.php?t=3455417 The Pokemon are exactly the same, and the move-sets are also extremely similar as well, except for the EV spreads which it seemed you were eager to make look different (like who runs 12 HP on Latias). I'd like to think you didn't copy from there though, since the team is a pretty common sand stall, but if you did then shame on you.
-
Cool team bro. I would recommend Shed Shell on Ferrothorn over Leftovers. Everyone has seen me use it on the ladder, and get annoyed when I switch out of Shadow Tag Chandelure. It is quite effective and it could come in handy for you. I would also recommend Taunt over Sword Dance on Terrakion, so you can shut down common set up leads (bar Deoxys-S). Next, go with Perish Song over Protect on Politoed, as it will help you phaze and/or finish off a final Pokemon that is tough to kill. You wouldn't really need Protect anyways especially since you're not running a Toxic set. And you don't need SAtk EV's on Politoed because you don't want it to pack a punch (otherwise you should use a Scarf set) you probably want it to live longer in order to win the weather war. Go with 252 HP, 252 Def, and 4 SDef (Calm Nature). Finally, your team could have a lot of trouble beating SS Ludicolo. Maybe try Thunder-Wave over Gyro Ball on Ferrothorn. This way, you can live a Focus Blast on full or near full HP, and cripple it with T-Wave so another member of your team can beat it. Hope this helps!
-
And you thought you won the weather war... [RMT, peaked 22nd]
Lord Emvee replied to Conor's topic in Pokémon Fan Club
Firstly, the team is quite weak to Water and Rain Teams in general, seeing as you only have one Pokemon to take Water hits (Amoong), and 4 weak to Water (Hippo, Ttar, Chandy, Lando). For this, I would recommend changing Landorus to Gyarados (Bulky DDance set with Taunt, Waterfall, and Bounce as its other moves). This will help you by giving you something else to take Water hits, and it is a good physical sweeper, which your team kinda lacks right now. Secondly, you really don't need Choice Scarf on Jirachi seeing as Chandelure already takes the role of a revenge killer. I would recommend using a SDef set on Jirachi, so you can take Hurricanes a lot better and protect the team against those kinds of specially offensive threats. I think you know the set so I don't need to give it. I think that should be all for now. I'll let you know if I find anything else that needs to be fixed. -
@Skywayz: Thanks for the rate buddy! Celebi's cool. I like Amoongus because it helps against T-Spikes, and the team has no place for a spinner (I don't wanna make Exca one either). Gengar isn't too big of a problem. It's pretty easy to play around. Shadow Claw on Exca sounds interesting I can always try that. Thanks again! :] @Conor: Pretty good suggestion! I used to use double spore amoongus' a long time ago maybe it might work well for this team. Thanks for the rate!

@Slant: I prefer offensive Deoxys-S, simply because it works a lot better. Defensive sets are better off being used on Deoxys-D. The point of my Deoxys-S is to get up as many hazards as it can before it ends up dying. I have Fire Punch and Ice Beam to beat anything that I can take down relatively quickly. I also prefer taking Genesect by surprise as it U-Turns, so I doubt I would change the set lol. Shed Shell switch has already been made! Hazards aren't as much of a problem as getting walled by Bronzong, and taken down by Pokemon like Serperior, and bulky Psychics. X-Scissor really helps me get out of those tough situations. Thanks for the rate! @DD: Thank you! (: I like running mixed moves because personal preference (also Fire Punch sometimes hits certain things a lot harder than HP Fire). I've already given it enough EV's in attack to OHKO Naive Genesect, and its special attack is already good enough to OHKO Gliscor, Landorus/-T, etc. Thanks for the rate! @Epic C: Thanks bro! @Threatkion (aka Rach): Thanks for the rate better get your ladder rank up (;

@Ryan: Even though Pursuit is it's only STAB move, it works a lot better than moves like Crunch or Payback. Most of the Pokemon that I switch Tyranitar into don't usually stay in. This is where Pursuit is most useful, because it inflicts great damage on those Pokemon that switch out. Fire Blast has an 85% Accuracy, which is 5% more than Hydro Pump which is run on most offensive water types. The accuracy isn't really that bad at all; if you miss its your own unluckiness. But the power is essential to OHKO many top tier threats, like for example Lucario that switches in on Tyranitar predicting a Crunch, and so on. Thanks for the rate bro! @Blast: It's not really about embracing Tyranitar's potential, as much as it is about being able to beat many common threats in the game. The current moveset I have does just that, by acting as a Special Wall while eliminating many commonly seen Pokemon with Pursuit / Fire Blast / Ice Beam. I would never really recommend any kind of set-up Tyranitar to anyone, because those can easily be killed with priority moves as well as faster Pokemon, so you won't really be able to effectively sweep. Also Excadrill is extremely essential, for reasons I have stated in previous posts. Thanks for the rate buddy!

@Kamina: Thanks for the rate! Shed Shell on Amoonguss is not a bad idea. I did like the Black Sludge healing after sand damage though, and the fact that users that Trick Amoongus will get the Black Sludge and take both that damage and sand damage. But I will still give Shed Shell a try! Superpower isn't really necessary because my Deoxys-S lead isn't aimed at taking down opposing Tyranitar (since that is mainly what Superpower is for on Deo-S leads), since this is a sand team. Instead, I try and beat the common leads that actually threaten my team, like Genesect for example, and dragon leads. Both Stealth Rocks and Spikes are essential to have, especially since I don't have another user to set up spikes. X-Scissor on Excadrill is essential to this team in order to beat un-choiced Contrary Serperior, as they will most likely have access to Leaf Storm and HP Fire, which is deadly to the team. Rock Slide is also essential because it is my check to an already stat boosted Volcarona. Thanks very much for the rate Kamina! @SOTD: Hmm yeah I think I might make the switch to Shed Shell. I will do some testing on this. Usually against opposing Excadrills, if they do not carry an Air Balloon, they pretty much die to my Excadrill, which I save for late-game. If for some reason they do carry Air Balloon, you must pop that balloon, so that this teams Excadrill can beat it easy. Also I think my Landorus is able to live +2 Rock Slide at near full HP. Thanks very much for the rate, and I'll be sure to check out clear skies!

. Get Smack'd Intro Hello Reborn community! I felt that this would be a good time to re-introduce myself to you all. My name is Heroic, and I love competitive battling. I have been a member here for about a year and a half, and after about an entire year of inactivity, I have finally made my return. I know many of you don't really know me, but I was gifted with the chance to get to know some of you from the server during my time back. I used to be rank #1 on the Reborn ladder back about a year ago, and my intentions of coming back were to do it once again, as well as to get to know you all a lot better. I have recently reclaimed my title as rank #1 on the server with 1520 points (and still continuously rising), and I would like to share my success with all of you by showing you guys the team that I used to get to #1. This is my first RMT here so I hope you guys like it. The star of this team is Smack Down Landorus, which has saved me so many countless times (hence the title, "Get Smack'd"). Anyways, without further ado, let's begin with the team. Proof of Success Team Preview Team Building Process Team In Depth Deoxys-S @ Focus Sash | Pressure Naive | 160 Atk / 108 SpA / 240 Spe Stealth Rock | Spikes | Fire Punch | Ice Beam Deoxys-S is an amazing Pokemon and is my lead. It has the ability to set up many layers of hazards in a short amount of time. With Deoxys-S, it is good if you get up as many hazards as you can, and pressure your opponent a lot into switching, because they will keep taking damage every time they switch. I have assigned the Attack EV's in such a way that Fire Punch will OHKO most standard Genesect leads without any Defensive EV's. It is also good against Forretress , Scizor, and Ferrothorns. Ice Beam has enough EV's to OHKO standard Gliscor, Landorus, Landorus-T, and Garchomp (without Yache Berry). Deoxys-S is able to live any hit with Focus Sash, so long as it is at full HP. It is very fast so if you're somehow able to keep him alive during the match, you can use him to revenge kill Dragons that try and set up on you. Overall, he is one of my favorite leads of all time. ------------------------------------------------------- Tyranitar @ Shed Shell | Sand Stream Sassy | 248 HP / 4 Atk / 36 SpA / 220 SpD Pursuit | Fire Blast | Ice Beam | Roar My big boy Tyranitar gets the sand up and going. He has Shed Shell so that weather wars between opposing teams can't be won by trapping him with Dugtrio, or Specs HP Fighting Shadow Tag Chandelure, or anything like that. Pursuit allows me to trap unsuspecting Pokemon, like Celebi, Latios, Latias, and Chandelure locked on to "not very effective" moves. Fire Blast is for Pokemon like Scizor, Skarmory, and other Steel Types. It OHKO's all the Pokemon that have x4 weakness to Fire. Ice Beam, similarly to Deo-S is to catch Pokemon like Landorus, Gliscor, and other Dragon types off guard, either as they try and set up, or as they switch in. Finally, Roar stops Pokemon from setting up on me, and is very creative since Roar isn't really seen too often on Tyranitar! It helps me to shuffle up an opponent's team as well, and damaging them from all those hazards set up by Deo-S. ------------------------------------------------------- Landorus @ Leftovers | Sand Force Naive | 252 Atk / 4 Def / 252 Spe Substitute | Smack Down | Earthquake | Hidden Power [ice] Landorus is a great physical attacker, and is also the star of this team. Substitute allows me to avoid any status moves, and also is good for scouting an opponents move or switch. Smack Down is really where the party gets started. It gets that additional power from Sand Force, and literally knocks the opponent's Pokemon to the ground. This means that Pokemon that are of the flying type, or have the ability Levitate are now made vulnerable to my Earthquake which is also boosted by Sand Force. Skarmory is KO'd after Smack Down. So is Rotom-W, and Bronzong. Most Pokemon that were once able to counter Landorus, can do it no longer. Hidden Power Ice is for stuff like the annoying Gliscor, which is really one of the only things that can wall Landorus to an extent. ------------------------------------------------------- Jellicent @ Leftovers | Water Absorb Bold | 248 HP / 208 Def / 52 Spe Taunt | Will-O-Wisp | Surf | Recover Jellicent is great because it helps me to take heavy powered water hits. Taunt helps me prevent Pokemon from using non-offensive moves. For example, it can stop Chansey from setting up Wish or healing itself with Softboiled. It also helps to prevent slow Pokemon from dealing Hazards. Will-O-Wisp helps me burn physical attackers and shut them down for the entirety of the game. 52 Speed EV's allow me to outspeed 8 Speed EV Scizors, which are seen mainly on Choice Band Scizor sets, and SD Scizors. Surf is my main STAB move, chosen over Scald for more base power and because I already have Will-O-Wisp to do the burning. Recover helps Jellicent to stay alive longer. Jellicent also helps counter really difficult-to-counter stuff like Speed Boost Blaziken. ------------------------------------------------------- Amoonguss @ Shed Shell | Regenerator Calm | 244 HP / 136 Def / 128 SpD Spore | Giga Drain | Clear Smog | Hidden Power [Fire] Amoonguss is great at taking hits, whether it be physical or special moves, and is your Toxic Spikes absorber. Spore allows me to put an opponents Pokemon to Sleep, which can be very useful in certain situations. Giga Drain is main STAB move which is great against water types and rain teams. Clear Smog is yet another STAB move, but it allows me to stop Pokemon from setting up (so long as they don't carry Substitute). Hidden Power Fire is for other Grass/Steel types that are in like Ferrothorn and Forretress. It also helps take Genesect and Scizor that switch in by surprise. Regenerator allows me to switch out and heal HP while doing so. The main threat to Amoonguss is Shadow Tag Chandelure, however, due to recent changes, Shed Shell has been given to Amoonguss to avoid this problem. ------------------------------------------------------- Excadrill @ Air Balloon | Sand Rush Jolly | 4 HP / 252 Atk / 252 Spe Swords Dance | Earthquake | Rock Slide | X-Scissor What better way to end the team than with one of the best sand team late game sweepers, Excadrill. Excadrill gets 604 speed from Sand Rush, being able to outrun even some Pokemon that have +3 speed. Sword Dance gives you that amazing doubled attack, and you can then proceed to sweeping teams with Earthquake, Rock Slide, and X-Scissor. Air Balloon keeps you immune to ground type moves while it's still in tact. EV spread is standard. This Pokemon is great if you wanna revenge kill Volcarona, Gyarados, Salamence, etc you name it. After Sword Dance however, this thing is very tough to kill. ------------------------------------------------------- Conclusion So that concludes the RMT. I hope you all enjoyed it, because I took a lot of time to make this for you all. Again, this team peaked #1 on the Reborn ladder, and I'm happy to be able to share it with everyone, in hopes you too can make it up there. If anyone is interested to use this team, the importable is down below in the spoiler box. To use this team, I would suggest you set up as many hazards as you can with Deoxys-S, go to all measure to prevent them from Rapid Spinning, and keep pressuring them by making good predictions and switches, so that when your opponent's team is weak enough you can sweep with Landorus or Excadrill. Shout out to google for providing me with these awesome images. All comments are welcome, and encouraged since I worked really hard on this. Thanks for taking the time to visit this RMT! Importable
