Famine looked absolutely awed when Lysander responded that he was the Marvel Thief, and looked very giddy with excitement that only grew even further when he summoned his magic, and didn't even seem remotely affected by the threat. “So... so... COOL! You really are the Marvel Thief! There's no mistaking that skill with magic! That fierce determination! Hey, listen! Listen! I'm your biggest fan! I know, I know, biggest fans have a reputation for being completely clingy and obnoxious, but listen! I know a lot more information than you'd think!" Out of absolutely nowhere, Famine begins singing in a dramatic falsetto. "House Daxter, evil! House Daxter, so cruel! If they do not scare you, their poisoning will! They murder, cheat and call it... thrill! House Daxter... House Daxter... evil!" A pause, but not too long; he doesn't give any room for anyone to continue talking. “What'd ya think of my song? Pretty good, huh? Been working on it myself! I'm not the best at rhyming, but I think it's pretty good! Say, it'd be really cool if we battled one on one. Tell you what! I'll give you good odds; I won't attack anyone but the Marvel Thief and these guys will leave him alone too! Kinda can't stop them from attacking the rest of you, buuuut they'll leave me and the Marvel Thief alone! Also, I won't be mad if the Marvel Thief gets healed or gets performed by you guys! Ain't that nice odds? And..." Famine excitedly clutches his Nosferatu tome, lowering his voice so that only Lysander and the surrounding members can hear. "You win, and I answer any one question you have! Any question! Unless it's about our secret identities, then I kinda can't give that one away! Other than that, anything, whether it be about me, Pestilence, Death and or War! And I'll be 100% honest! Pinky promise!... Forward march! We meet them now! March forward!" Famine exclaims to his group. This time, Death overhears him and makes his yells audible. “You imbecile! What are you doing!? You're leaving yourselves open; they're barely even close!" Famine clearly pretends not to hear Death. He lets out a loud, annoyed growl. “Fucking damn it...! Fine! If you want to play your little game, we'll play too! Prepare to move forward, everyone! You too, Pestilence!" As Famine's group moves in, the Scholar prepares a Wind spell, hurling it at Lysander- “Time out! Time out! What's the point of using a Wind spell? They'll just heal it up anyway! Hold it and save your tome's power!" Famine peers around the really confused Scholar, looking over at Lysander. “Hey. Hey. That red guy over there; he called you Marvel, right? Are you perhaps related to the Marvel Thief in any way? Of course you are! Why else would you be called Marvel? But, I mean... You could be another Marvel, right? You know, like there could be another Virtuous out there!" Famine gives a small laugh, but he looks serious, from what his eyes could tell you. TURN 9 Player Phase EXP: (8/100) Stats

The Pirate is a sitting duck as he's left very much barely alive. Justine uses her shiny rapier to stab the Pegasus Rider, though they are on their last legs enough to make a retaliation. EXP: (83/100) Stats

Lizaveta strikes the Pegasus Rider with a blade of wind! EXP: (79/100) Stats

One of the Pegasus Riders is promptly shot down by Mim. The onslaught on War begins with Arthur firing a gust of wind, causing War to feign a little yawn, pissing Arthur off slightly. Baldur hits War; thankfully he was just spiteful enough again to be reminded of how much he hated Lizaveta to dodge just in time. Kane goes in for the finisher. As the knife sticks into War's arm, she groans in pain as she rips it out without hesitation and chucks it into the river. “Don't celebrate your victory. You'll all be dead soon enough... if you think a bit of steel is enough to knock me down, you're sorely mistaken. There's too much at stake for me..." War separates herself from the group with a wall of flames, scurrying back into the trees. Arthur snarls, attempting to hurl another gust of wind after her. "Wait, you bitch...!" Kane thrusts his arm out in front of Arthur. "Don't; we won't be able to catch up, she'll have that rear guard and those ballistae taking us on anyway. We can't rush into this when Death is still prowling... War has a point; if we let our guard down, we'll all be on the ground succumbing to his poison, and I refuse to let that happen to you all. Let her go for now; if we can just take Death, the group will be done for." Arthur rolls his eyes, having met Kane's gaze at his crack at the poison. Arthur wanted to retaliate, but he knew Kane had a point. EXP: (77/100) Stats

One particularly loud spark of lightning seems to throw her briefly off guard, causing her to wince slightly, though she recuperates herself rather quickly, as if it never happened. “...Don't keep me waiting." Arthur moves to G16, uses a Vulnerary Arthur recovered 10 HP! Arthur is at full HP! Lizaveta recovered 10 HP! Enemy Phase War equips Elthunder. War watches the group with keen interest. She especially watched that poor boy on the horse, trying so hard to get up onto it after he had just got incinerated by her flaming fury twice in a row. It would be so amusing to watch him struggle further... but it was unnecessary, quite unnecessary. She had exerted herself for fun enough today... now the real battle began. She levitated two tomes; an Elthunder tome and her Meteor tome, raising the Meteor tome and making it glow, as if she were going to cast Meteor again... but she simply absorbed the magical energy into a refined shield. “Come to die, Virtuous." War obtains an Arcane Barrier! +2 DEF! On the other side, Famine carefully watched Lysander as he stood there, completely ignoring the other potential targets of Mim and Baldur. He seemed to be tilting his head in curiosity, and whispering the words 'Marvel' to himself. Eventually, he raised his Hel tome high, starting to glow with dark energy. “Darkness, darkness, darkity dark! Let my darkness blow you up with darkness! Hel!" The dark spell began to take the shape of a moon once more, before... ...The spell's effects explode into a bunch of particles of dark dust that fall onto Lysander's head, giving Baldur, Mim and an annoyed Arthur some of the residue. “Awww, come on! This tome's broken!" One of the nearby Scholars inspects the tome. "Uh... boss? The tome still looks like it works-" “IT'S BROKEN!" Famine exclaims, before chucking it into the clearing of trees near him, casually opening up his Nosferatu tome and giving a not-so-subtle wink in Lysander's direction after the Scholar rolls his eyes and turns around. Famine's Hel broke...? One of the Ballisticians caught Fey in their sights. "Target spotted!" Fey gets an arrow for her troubles. TURN 4 Player Phase Kane takes 2 damage! Kane's poisoning wears off! EXP: (39/100) Stats

Lysander recovers 10 HP! Cecily swiftly dispatches the Scholar. EXP: (38/100) Stats

Baldur tears through the Hunter like a hot knife through butter. EXP: (35/100) Stats

Mim and Arthur move again! Mim attacks Hunter A! Going for another round, Mim fires at the Hunter. She manages to get one hit in, thankfully! Shin is back up! Shin recovers 5 HP! Kane moves to take on the Scholar that blasted him with wind earlier, this time under the cover of the trees. EXP: (32/100) Stats

Kane recovers +17 HP! "No, I won't worry about it. I'll try to be more careful. Thank you, Rose." Mim opens fire, and the Hunter retaliates. Both are too covered by the forest to do any proper damage, though. Lenore uses her brand new knife to tear the Shaman apart. EXP: (25/100) Stats

Nil, of course, didn't respond. But they did give a little nod. Nil attacks the Jinba.

First Class Level 4

Lizaveta is back up! Lizaveta recovers 8 HP! Shin, in all of his persistence, opens fire on the Mercenary and fills them full of holes. Reiko boldly enters the forest and enters combat with the Shaman. The exchange is mostly dodged, but Reiko sneaks a hit in. Enemy Phase Shaman A's Anthropomancy wanes... War recovers 6 HP! War moves to P8. Hunter A moves to D16. Mercenary D moves to O14. Scholar C moves to O13. Scholar D moves to O14. War clears her throat, channeling her magic once more. “Foolish of you to forget about me in your haste for your little friend. I hope you enjoy being incinerated. Meteor!" Another meteor is launched directly at Shin, engulfing him in a flaming fury that he can't just deal with anymore. "Damn it...! Ficus, hang in there! We'll catch up to these bastards, I promise!" “Wow, twice in a row, War? Maybe I'll hit them this time! Hel!" Kane looked back, watching the moon begin to engulf Lysander. "Marvel! Watch it!" “Whuh?" The Hunter begins to close in on Lysander as the spell made its mark- “Wait wait wait waitwaitwaitwait! Don't go for the Marvel guy! I know I softened him up for you, but you'll leave yourself open, alright? Shoot the red guy instead! Better idea, right!? You wouldn't be leaving yourself open!" The Hunter looks really confused, and so does Arthur. Regardless, the Hunter doesn't disobey orders, reluctantly equipping his bow and firing at Arthur, who is so caught off guard he misses his hit. Famine checks to see if Death and War are watching, then quickly flashes a thumbs up right at Lysander, pulls down his bandana slightly and mouths the words I'd like a chat when you're over here, if that's okay! War signals for her squad to move out. Kane gets ready for the assault, brandishing his knife. "Damn it, got careless... Come on! I'll show you that being the leader of Virtuous isn't just a fancy title; I'll protect my team to my dying breath! Rose, tend to Ficus!" The Scholar from afar blasts Kane with a gust of wind, but Kane is able to cartwheel out of the way thanks to Lizaveta's influence. The Mercenary moves in, brandishing his blade, taking a swing at Kane, who's more than ready for him. "You've left yourself wide open, my friend!" "Goodbye!" The remaining Scholar is intimidated by Kane's onslaught, but regardless tries to fight. He lands a hit, but Kane is more than ready for him. TURN 3 Player Phase Kane takes 5 poison damage! EXP: (19/100) Stats

The very thought of a horrible battle where everyone was getting hurt, desperately in need of healing... Clement found it hard to not want to at least try to help. And yet, he knew damn well what would happen if he got too close. Everyone would surely think he was a danger to them all. But the fact that they needed help was... "...you must be really badly in need of a healer to want me, huh?... I won't say no to it, but that's only if the rest of your group agrees. After they've gotten an inkling of what I did... and not to mention, I have to make one thing clear. I need to be kept away from any battles. I know it's sometimes impossible to do so, but... I need to keep my distance as much as possible. I have my horse, so I can ride in and heal at will, but... I have to be honest. I'm not good with blood. And I'm not good with the sight of someone relentlessly charging in with the intent of murder. When that happens... I get an uncontrollable urge to... well, give such a murderous scumbag a taste of their own medicine without care for my own safety." Clement looked at Kerr very seriously. "I've never been able to control it ever since I developed it. Can you still recommend me confidently, knowing that?... I don't even know what'd happen if, say, two of your members got into a bloody fight with each other. A couple of kicks and bruises I can handle, but if blood ever got drawn by one of your own..." Clement stopped talking after that, getting slightly choked up and looking downwards, annoyed at himself that he gave so much away.

Lysander pierces the mercenary with many icicles, swiftly ending him and making up for his previous battle. Lenore sneaks in and hurls knives at the Fighter. She manages to hit him right in the heart, ending him quietly... poor Reiko can't get her speech in. Reiko must take a different action! EXP: (104/100) *LEVEL UP!* Stats

For just a brief moment, Clement looked mildly interested in Kerr's proposal. "You'd... be willing to-...?" Before he can finish his sentence, Clement shakes his head and goes back to looking glum. "...no. Bad idea. You'd have to be really desperate to ask me to be a healer, especially if you get caught in the middle of battle... I really appreciate the offer, but the only time I can even remotely advocate for myself helping you all out is if there's literally no choice. And... it's not just because of my failure today, either. I'm... not good when it comes to violence... no, not good is completely understating it." He sighs.

"I do still want to help people... but..." Clement gives a quiet sigh, looking off into the distance and off to the stables, taking a couple of steps toward them. "...Perhaps that would be for the best... I have problems calming down, so I just need... a little bit of time with her, I suppose..."

Clement seemed very hesitant to this request. "I... suppose I can't stop you. But even so, I'd rather not stick around in the general area very long either, and chances are I'm going to be leaving alone... well, not really alone. I have Juliett..." Clement pauses. "...My horse. She's been the main reason I've been keeping sane in these times. I couldn't bring her inside... its been difficult keeping it together."

Clement was in such a stupor, with nothing else on his mind but getting out of there as soon as possible, that for a brief moment he didn't even realize he had been grabbed onto. He continued to keep moving, only stopping when he felt he couldn't go any further, and that he was addressed specifically by one of the group he had just been passing. Kerr, his name was...? Clement finally lifted his head from the ground, his eyes clearly full of guilt, anxiety, and perhaps even just a little trickle of insanity. He didn't seem to react much to his talking, avoiding eye contact slightly, but the last part... 'people know that emotions don't let people think rationally either', got just a hint of eye contact out of Clement. His eyes continued to drift downward, however, as he answered the question. "...Clement. Clement May." Without another word, he gently tugged on his arm. Not forcefully, but in a manner of defeatism. "...I thank you for your sympathies, but I'm not welcome here anymore, and that's for the best. Please excuse me."
