  1. Walking around the fountain was getting to be quite exhausting on Mercia's legs, and she found that she was... not the bravest when talking to people on her own. Usually she had backup or support to talk to people with, but this time it was... all on her own. Asking a question that could easily result in screwing everything up. A deep breath always came to Mercia as she started to approach someone... then she exhaled every time she walked past. A few times she passed people by through the fountain, before she stomped her foot. Damn it, Mercia! Rosanne is counting on you; grow up and just talk to people! What are they gonna say, anyway? What's wrong with asking for Lancelot, just because they support that wretched man? They're not gonna know you work for Rosanne, so just stop being a coward and just go for it! The next person you see, you'd better ask! Groaning, she took in another deep breath and sighed. From a distance away, she could spot someone in a green cloak. Alright... It was gonna have to be done. She already held herself to it, and she was not going to let the fact that she couldn't really see the person's face stop her. For all she knew, that person was gonna be that man... but it was gonna be fine. She had to stop worrying. She had only been in Rosanne's employ since a few days after she pulled out Excalibur, and never did anything properly outside with her. Even if it was him, nobody could possibly know she was working for Rosanne. She took a few steps, before gently calling out. "Excuse me...?" Mercia called, as she approached a little closer to the cloaked figure. "I'm sorry to bother you, but I was wondering if you might have some information on Lancelot the Black...?"
  2. "...Thank you." Arthur gave a little nod, before now trying to get comfortable in the sheets on the couch. He found it significantly easier this time as he stared up at the ceiling. --- Simeon examined the staff, giving a few nods. "This'll be an easy fix... ah, and you'd be willin' to offer? Sure, I don't see why not. Make Kane's job a lil' easier and all."
  3. Mercia was honored for a few reasons. Notably Rosanne's willingness to take her suggestion and try to do what they could for both sides; burn the corpses that had the poison, but give a proper burial to those who died. Mercia didn't mind the extra work; it helped ease her conscience about killing, and she started to finally feel confident that she was on the right side. She had a feeling that maybe even one day, she'd be able to convince her sister of Rosanne's goodness. Mercia looked significantly more determined as she walked to the Marshlands after a good night's rest, and listened attentively to Rosanne, nodding after her words. "Understood, my lady. I'll do whatever I can to find information. I'll try scouring the perimeter of the fountain; it's large, but there's a good chance that people who respect Sir Lance's knightly virtues may know about Sir Lancelot as well."
  4. Nodding in response, Arthur got up and off of the couch, giving a little stretch as he waits for Baldur. He quietly and patiently watches him set up the bed, and Arthur did feel a sense of... gratefulness toward him for going out of his way to do this. But at the same time... he did hope it was out of friendship and not just because of his status. Was this what friends did?... He wouldn't know. "I suppose that's true... but yes, thank you very much. I really appreciate all of this... but please don't go too out of your way to assist me if it becomes an inconvenience."
  5. Arthur paused and looked down at himself. He did look slightly touched. "I... would appreciate that and can accept that, thank you." A quiet pause. Arthur half whispers to himself afterwards. "You're all a strange bunch... me, being able to be considered a friend...?"
  6. Simeon thinks for a moment. "Probably nothing legendary or beyond reparations. If nothin' else, I can always just make something new. But ye, go get yer staff..." ... Arthur was nearby his couch, still trying to settle in on it. He seems to have found a position he's trying, just laying there with his eyes awake... before turning to Baldur. He looks a bit cozy, though it seems just a tad forced. "...I really do appreciate it, but I must still pass. I... have a bit of a thing about sharing a bedroom with someone... behind closed doors." The tone in Arthur's voice suggested there were a couple more reasons he was unwilling to disclose, but was otherwise truthful. "...But I do really appreciate the offer, thank you. I may take you up on it in the near future, but for now I'll try to stay out of the way."
  7. Simeon's laughter died down, though he gave a hearty chuckle after Baldur's next works. "Nah, I'm decent at makin' staves. Get yer old staff for me anyway, though; I'll fix it up for ya for free."
  8. Simeon blinks a few times in slight disbelief. Then just starts laughing the laugh of a sailor who's had one too many drinks. "Ah, Virtuous, ye truly are the greatest adventure an ol' blacksmith could ever ask for! After years of just 'gimme a knife', 'gimme a sword', ye're all givin' me ways to challenge meself! Ye want yer knife attached to the staff so propulsion can guide yer way? Ye got it! I'll make sure I get it right for sure, mark me words!"
  9. Simeon gives a pretty quick nod. "Of course it's possible, knives and daggers are just about the easiest thing in the world for ye to use. Now... would ye like a knife or a dagger, in that case? Any specifications? Don't be shy; I got a pretty fancy order from that young lass Justine, so no request is too small with the right price."
  10. Simeon looked over from the weapons he was examining to Baldur, raising an eyebrow but giving a hearty smirk. He didn't really care much for Baldur's attitude earlier, but at the same time, he wasn't about to refuse a potential customer. "Of course; Orchid, was it? What can I do for ye?"
  11. Kane was about to head downstairs, but was stopped promptly by Baldur, turning around and giving a nod in response. "Of course. Try to get some rest for tonight, but we will talk tomorrow morning."
  12. Now trying to look at the bodies once Blodeuyn sounded as if she finished, Mercia gave a little nod and moved closer to Blodeuyn; poor girl looked nervous and Mercia felt badly seeing her so nervous, especially after her own pressures. Trying to give a little bit of a comforting aura, she spoke, though still a little too aghast to make proper eye contact with Candide... though it probably didn't matter... Mercia wanted to slap herself for thinking that. "Blodeuyn has a point... I care about the local fauna as well and it could easily be harvested by the wrong hands. I don't think there's anything wrong with a burial by cremation... but perhaps we can bury their ashes alongside the other buried troops as a sign of good gesture that we mean well? There's no reason for us to argue... we all want what's best for this nation, and the wildlife are equally as important. But at the same time, you are right, Sir Candide; we should still respect the fallen warriors on the battlefield."
  13. Eventually, dinner was finished and everyone was called together to eat a rather delicious stew; if anything, it was certainly better than the prison food, but it was still very well made and delicious. Throughout dinner, Arthur quietly flashed looks to Mim and Baldur, saying nothing yet looking ever so slightly nervous. Afterwards, making sure everyone had plenty to eat, Kane gave a little stretch and a yawn. "Well, we still have a little bit before we should all call bedtime, we have no plans for tomorrow other than getting everyone settled in and potentially doing some errands, so you can all stay up a little later, but I'll still be calling bedtime in an hour or so. I'll bring out some bedding from downstairs so you can all move into your new rooms, and I'll try to get some blankets and pillows too; you might have to live a little bare with them, but thankfully it's pretty warm out tonight. I'll try to get something better for you all tonight, though. You're all excused." Simeon groaned as he got out of his chair. "Feel free to leave yer weapons by the couch, I'll fix 'em up free of charge. I'll be workin' tonight so ye all can get some new stuff; if ye got anything, just gimme a holler sometime before ye go to sleep." Arthur simply got up and started heading over to his own couch, starting to sit and try to make himself comfortable, though he looked like he was having a bit of difficulty.
  14. Mercia looks slightly aghast at Blodeuyn casually poking one of the corpses with a stick and averts her eyes once liquid started pouring out of their mouths, though she listens rather carefully to Rosanne as she spoke, trying to nod a little. "Y... yes, you're all correct. Please forgive me, Lady Rosanne, and everyone... I'm not used to bloodshed, I have fighting skills just from life experience, but seeing all of this is rather alarming to me for my first time... I'll gladly fight, it's just... I need to get used to it. I'm sorry." Mercia lets out a little sigh, before trying to distance herself a little bit and not make eye contact; she sounded pathetic right now and wished she could take back everything she said in the past minute.
  15. Arthur raised an eyebrow, pondering for a second before giving a little nod. "I understand; my coat is comfortable too, but there's only so many layers I can wear before it gets too hot... would you be okay with storing it in your room? I trust you with it; I've already talked about it and how it's... rather pricey. At the moment, despite my... status, it's... presently the most expensive thing I own." Arthur nervously scratches the back of his neck after that little tidbit.
  16. Arthur nodded, heading to the door. "...Thank you. Though I disagree; one day you'll learn from someone who knows their stuff about chess." Upon leaving, he looked to Mim, his expression a lot more relaxed. He nods to her a little bit, then thinks. After a little bit of thinking, he lifts his coat up over his head, holding it in two arms. "...I'd like to take a walk around the house. I'd like to find a place to hang my coat, too... it's hot in Ceda and my coat isn't good when it's not cold or up against enemy attacks... I hope Lizaveta will be a good roommate to you as well. But I wouldn't mind taking a look around for a while."
  17. Arthur paused for a bit before calling out. "...Hey, Mim, I'll come join you outside if you need help getting settled in or exploring the house or anything." Arthur pauses and turns to Baldur. "...If you didn't mind, of course? If you still had things to discuss, I'll stay... that tea was good by the way, thank you for it."
  18. "Y...yes, that makes sense... I suppose I'm just not used to seeing such acts. Sorry..." Mercia gave a little sigh as she looked upon the dead bodies of both the ones who committed suicide and the ones they left in their wake. She still wasn't entirely sure whether or not to feel ashamed for her actions or justify them... but either way, it was too late; she did her duty and that is what matters.
  19. "...It's alright. I need to learn to keep control of my temper... it's something I had a handle on but have unable to get ever since. But hopefully someday... and I hope to be able to tell everyone the truth soon so that nobody is left in the dark about who I am."
  20. To Arthur, it was awkward, but somehow relieving when Mim didn't respond negatively or positively to his exclamation as a prince, just simply neutrally. Perhaps he had misjudged everything about everyone... maybe he shouldn't have been so afraid to reveal his identity. Maybe he was just on edge because of Ganymede. Because he knew that one wrong move and he was back where he started... somewhere he absolutely did not want to be. Knowing that fact that he most likely wouldn't end up there gave him some solace. "...You're right... forgive me for yelling, Baldur. It was crass of me to raise my voice like that."
  21. Kane looks over at Lenore, then gives a nod. "Very well; if nothing else, we can always prepare something more fanciful next time. Either way, I'm sure they'll love it, nobody's ever said no to our cooking here so far." --- Giving a small snarl as Baldur finished reprimanding him, Arthur was about to retort until Mim came in, causing him to try to start taking deep breaths to calm himself down and respond appropriately. What made him stop his deep breaths was Baldur's lie... yes, it was to protect his identity, but Arthur was not going to agree to a lie especially when he saw Mim's disappointment in his previous lie. Especially for such a cheap lie; he got angry a lot, but he would never get angry at a stupid game like that unless the opponent pissed him off... implying he'd ever lose at chess. "...No, first off, I'd like to see you try to beat me in chess. Secondly, you and I both know that's a lie, and I refuse to lie to Mim any further. Either way, you've already given me reason to just come out and say it. No point in trying to keep it secret anymore, especially not from Mim." Arthur took another deep breath. "...I..." Arthur shook, biting his lower lip. He took once glance at Baldur, then to where he stashed his notebook, then to the door, then blurted it out at a volume trying not to let the noise bleed into the hallway again, standing up. "I am Prince Arthur of Ria! I don't know exactly what Ruslan's been doing with my departure since I left that miserable hellhole, but I hope he's goddamn happy about what he did to me!" Arthur angrily sits back down, crossing his arms and huffing loudly, looking at the ground as if to ask himself what he just did.
  22. The 12th character is... Lysander Hale Darby (Marvel)! For affinity, Lysander may choose between Ice and Heaven. For starting weapons, Lysander may choose between Fire and Wind. Level ups are as follows:
  23. Arthur paused as he looked over it. He shook for a brief moment. Then he let out a rather sizable yell, one that might have been able to be heard from the outdoor hallway, almost slamming his fist into the table, though managing to stop himself, as he looked to Baldur, seething yet trying to keep his voice down despite his yelling and growling. "Was it really a fucking secret? I give my name expecting everyone to figure it out for themselves, and nobody has been able to distinguish me for who I am! What the fuck is going on!? I get pulled away by Mim expecting her to have figured it out, but no! She doesn't know who I am, she just suspected me because I refused to use my proper last name and Ganymede couldn't keep his fucking mouth shut! The two factors that should have tipped anyone off about who I am, and yet it still somehow wasn't obvious!? And then I was too much of a goddamn coward to tell her the truth because I don't know why the fuck anyone else knows! Do you know how goddamn hard it is to go on knowing that you couldn't tell the truth to the one person who actually looked at you despite how much of an asshole you appeared as and still gave you a cheerful greeting!? But what do I know!? For all I know, she'd tell me I'm full of shit and call me a liar! Is everyone just keeping it a damn secret to appease me or do they want me in a false sense of security!? Or tell me, for god's sake tell me, did that bastard honestly go out of his way to just use me as a pawn in his little game and not tell anyone my fucking name!? But then how would you know!? Tell me; are you as Virtuous planning to hold me ransom like that loathsome bastard Ganymede!? Or what exactly do you know that I and nobody fucking else doesn't!? TELL ME!"
  24. "...Forgive me, I should have avoided my own prodding. Some things we just shouldn't have to dig up... but it's good to get a better understanding of one another." Arthur twitched immensely on Baldur's question, and looked really annoyed for a brief moment, but settled down rather quickly. "...I'm not going to divulge anything about myself until I know I can trust everyone. As you figured from Ganymede, I could easily be put for a ransom and I'd rather not give away details. Of course, I'm not too far from talking about myself, but I don't have any information anyone particularly cares about, nor information I want to talk about." Arthur pauses, then shakes his head. "...I'm afraid I'm out of questions."
  25. "...Because he's an asshole, to put it lightly." Arthur sips his tea. "He was forcing his lifestyle on me, yes, but I was willing to make compromises. Because you know, father. I didn't care much at first, but I just wanted to try it... but he refused to make compromises for me. Two straws that broke the camel's back, as they say. One was... something I don't like to talk about." Arthur paused for a little while, before deciding to quietly refill his tea and go back to sipping it. "On the other hand... I heard he had a family's home ransacked and supposedly had the whole lot of them killed, about... six months ago, yet I didn't hear a damn thing about it until shortly before I was arrested. And why did he do it? For the sole purpose of taking something valuable they had for his personal gain despite him having his own fucking valuables. I hate the bastard and I'd love to watch him burn." Arthur awkwardly pauses. He sips a little more tea, then takes a deep breath. "...I'd better not talk about my father anymore, the man pisses me off just thinking about him... did you have good parents, at least?"
