Inside the village, you find... nobody to greet you. The village seems quite fine, quite easily habitable with plenty of modest houses, except for the fact that it was... well... empty. Judging by the looks of it, it has been empty for months; weeds were beginning to overgrow, crops were dying and there were signs of disrepair. Nobody in sight. It isn't too difficult to infer what happened here; it is near impossible for those without money or status to live in Perus. Even though there is plenty of land, even though there is an innocent village capable of living near the hills... the elite will eventually take over, paving a trade route over the village, taking everything it had and running the townsfolk out, forcing them to live elsewhere without any warning. ...After a short period of exploration, though not too much; you don't want to stray from the battle, you find a pack full of money tucked away in the corner of some steps leading up to a neat little cottage. It's hard to take from the innocent what isn't yours... but it's either going to lay here forever, or eventually find itself in the hands of common thieves or bandits. It's a miracle anyone even forgot to pillage this hidden stash of loot... or perhaps this village was so forgotten, even bandits did not think to take from it. Cecily obtained 4000 Gold!

“Alright, everyone… I hope that I can take this as a sign of everyone’s confidence. Lay low and walk close to the path… we’ll be coming up on the checkpoint soon.” As you all continue following up the river along the trade route that you could not quite reach, you start to hear voices. As you get further up the trail, the voices start becoming more audible. “…and I want the goods delivered by nightfall. We’re getting paid good money to deliver this, especially with pirates, bandits, and not to mention those Virtuous annoyances running around… don’t you dare lose anything, either; you know how those Perus cats are, they’ll have your head if we have one thing misplaced…” Kane gives a mild smirk as the head of the caravan finishes speaking, but it doesn't last too long. “They’re calling us annoyances, aren’t they? Well, I don’t think being called an annoyance is good enough… Not to mention, most of you are sick of walking... Give me a second.” You all sit and wait. Kane always has a little plan up his sleeve… and indeed not a minute later, you hear a rather loud explosion, the sound of a wagon overturning and the sound of horses panicking and whinnying as Kane runs back into view with you. “Prepare for combat, everyone. Don’t forget your codenames on the battlefield; one slip of each other’s names out there and it spells bad news… oh, and don't worry, the wagon and horses are fine.” You can hear the caravan leader yelling and cursing, though he seems to calm down quickly. “We’ll take cover in the forest! The rest of you, find the mongrels that sabotaged our caravan!" TURN 1 Player Phase Objective: Rout the enemy! EXP: (0/100) Stats (Enemy Stats)

While the band of Virtuous was strong and unified, there were times where... it got a bit rowdy, admittedly. Thankfully, it took a lot to put Kane off. "Yes, but no sense worrying about it now; your horse is safe at the base, just remember to get him next time we're out. And yes, Scarlet is right; we're coming up on our destination soon it seems, so let's hold off on the flirting for a little longer." Kane doesn't turn around once while addressing the crew, it seems he's too deep in looking ahead, with Scarlet's expression going unnoticed. However, her tone and sentence was all he needed. You all can start to see the small mountains and forests start to surround you... Kane finally does turn to you all. "...Almost made a rookie mistake; not telling you all what the plan was. If you could just give me a moment of your time... Up ahead is a trade route, and around this time..." Kane peers up to the sky, checking the sun's angle, as if to double check the time, before giving a satisfied nod. "...a Vaa caravan with a few merchants will be coming through the road. There have been very loud whispers about these merchants in particular, and we'll know who they are if they're run by a skeevy man in green named Diezel. Apparently, their deal is that they trade illicit goods to Perus for big cash. Diezel himself has strong dark magic from what I've heard, but he's a cheapskate and didn't put much funding into his other guards; they should be relatively simple for us to take down. My idea is that we'll kill two birds with one stone in this go around; take down Diezel, and take the caravan for ourselves so you all can rest up before the big heist. Any questions?"

While in usual circumstances he'd lecture Shin about paying attention, he gave him a pass, being... relatively new to this whole thing. "We're taking down a prison in Perus and breaking out some of the more unfortunate inmates in there, to put it simply. And you'll get a rest soon, Ficus, just hang in there a little longer..." As he mentions this, Kane begins to survey the land ahead of them. It seems he almost lets Justine's comment go by, until he throws out a casual comment, still not taking his eyes off of the land. "And let's try to keep it in our pants until after the mission, Minstrel." Congratulations, you just witnessed one of Kane's few snark moments. Generally he doesn't snark too hard, preferring a blunt approach to things, but when a detail is rather insignificant yet he wants to address it anyway, he'll address it in a more lighthearted manner while still keeping a straight face.

In the midst of going over the plan, Kane overhears Ferdiad and Lizaveta's conversation. He turns his head back. "No shame in hitching a ride, Scarlet. If you're getting tired, use the rest; I'd like us to be well prepared and ready for when we start coming up on our destination."

"One group at a time; the prison's divided into three blocks, so we can focus on taking out one block at a time. Prison's fairly muted too, so we'd be able to take them down without much worry of the guards alerting each other. We have an element of surprise on our side, plus the way I saw it, some of the guards were fairly incompetent and might not even be able to hold their own in a fight, even if they have a numbers advantage. Couple of them were having an argument about the way they were supposed to hold their lances; it was a bit pathetic."

"Scoped out and set, Mink. It's one of the places I've been wanting to scope out for a while." Kane responded with an air of confidence in his work. "It's a fairly medium-sized prison with a fair amount of guards constantly on watch, and they've secured the cells quite a bit. Warden's apparently a haughty fellow, likes to go out just to boss around the guards for little reason, but unfortunately he looks rather tough; taking him down will be a chore, but I have confidence in our abilities."

Prologue – Wanted: Virtuous Taking the usual paths is about as safe as a normal, unwanted person wandering into a heavily armored fortress for you all, so you strayed off path for your next mission of causing chaos while simultaneously helping to bring down the corrupt society. You were Virtuous, the infamous band known for causing trouble around the world, notably in the northern regions. You were a blight upon the world as criminals that could not be caught no matter how hard people tried, and in the minuscule amount of cases someone succeeded, they’d find themselves knocked out, or even wiped out, with Virtuous nowhere to be found. Even if someone caught a glimpse of them, no one knew the real identities of those in Virtuous; just a few people in flashy costumes and masks, and eight names. Knight. Ficus. Scarlet. Minstrel. Orchid. Dragon. Mink. And nobody could forget the name of their leader, Phoenix. However, despite everyone’s opinions of you, you were not simply criminals. Sure, you had that streak of craftiness and occasional thievery, you at least had justification for it compared to most criminals. War was afoot in Purgus, and Virtuous provided a much needed distraction from that. In the meantime, there was only one true goal for Virtuous; find out what happened to the once-peaceful continent of Purgus to make it so corrupt. Even if the answer wasn’t pretty, even if it boiled down to simple human stupidity, you had to trace it back to its roots and figure out a solution. Because if you don’t bring down the horrid corruption on the continent of Purgus, who will? Your current location was in the kingdom of Perus, a little further out from the border of Ceda. Though you are well known for your exploits, you can’t often risk going too far from Ceda too often, as Ceda is just about the only region you can comfortably show your faces without disguises… but even then, disguises are almost a necessity. You never knew what was around the corner. However, this was a blessing; getting into Perus was a cinch as the borders were relatively lax considering Ceda’s lack of interest in Perus, and Perus was often the perfect target for mischief. In Perus, you had a mission; take down a prison well-known for housing criminals from around the world due to prison overcrowding, simultaneously taking it down, taking it over and freeing the inmates inside in order to cause a scandal to hit Perus’s ego hard (a feat easy to do, considering how fragile Perus’s ego was). However, whatever your leader Kane has planned for the prison, regardless of what you knew and didn’t know, it was certainly a long while away and your feet are starting to get tired. You had a wagon a while ago, as you all wear disguises rather than your usual attire you need to cover when going through public roads, but it had to be ditched as the wheels broke off, and you had to take the scenic route. Despite this blunder, Kane, clad in his mask that covered half of his face and resembled two flaming wings going across his ears, pressed onward as if this little incident never happened. “Don’t worry, not only will I remember to not go for the cheapest option next time I get a wagon, but I haven’t planned for us to walk the whole way to our destination. We were going to be doing something up ahead here, and as a bonus, we should be coming up on our ride pretty soon. Just hang tight, okay? I don’t plan to start steering you guys wrong now.” The fields start to get more densely wooded as you progress, and up ahead, you start to see a more mountainous area, surrounded by forest… here’s hoping Kane isn’t lying to you. Ferdiad, Shin, Baldur, Lizaveta, Justine, Cecily and Lenore may post!

In the olden days of the continent of Purgus, there was peace. Everyone was unified under a single religion, a religion of seven gods. They were benevolent beings, believed to show themselves to the rulers of the seven kingdoms of old and offer them advice for how to tend to their kingdoms. These were the most peaceful days of the world. What happened afterwards was lost to history; nobody bothered to figure out what happened and why it happened. The religion split apart; instead of a religion that believed in seven benevolent gods, there became seven religions that believed in one all-powerful god. The kingdoms were driven apart, and the gods began to abandon them. In the days of the present, there was not war, yet there was not peace. There was constant, unending tension between the seven kingdoms, having stood from the start. These seven kingdoms were Gul, Ria, Ulux, Vaa, Perus, Ceda, and Vini. All seven had different problems, and all seven were in complete disarray. The only thing stopping the kingdoms from war was their own affairs that kept them tied down. However, the brink of war eventually became more than just a worry and rumor; it became a looming threat. As Perus began to build its army up to be better and stronger than ever, Vini showed equal dedication to building an army in response to Perus, with Ria’s tensions towards the kingdoms heating to a boiling point and Gul, Ulux and Vaa hoping to take some glory for themselves. Even Ceda, long believed to be the most peaceful of the kingdoms, seemed ready for a fight. Only one issue stops the seven kingdoms from starting their war, one that cropped up only a couple of months ago yet made a name for themselves; a band of pirates, thieves, bandits, rogues, the list of insults towards this band of misfits went on. They were like a buzzing fly around the close-knit continent, distracting the kingdoms from turning to war. But they were not as malevolent as many would think; on the contrary, they may be the only ones left in the world who realize how grim things truly are. This is their story; the tale of the travelling band known as Virtuous. ------ Hello and welcome to Fire Emblem On Forums: Mortal Transgressions! My name is Cole and this will be my first time GMing a FEF. I will be providing a link to the FEF handbook below, though keep an eye out afterwards for changes I will make! If you have any questions, feel free to ask me or any of our more experienced members! World Map Religion and Kingdoms Gameplay Changes The handbook we are using can be found here! General Skills Class Changes New Classes The Players When creating a character, when marking their name you will also come up with a codename for them to be referred to during missions to preserve secrecy of their identity. Codenames are generally short one word names, usually nouns, sometimes adjectives. They can be a word that means something special to your character, or just something they came up with out of thin air. Codenames will be marked in parenthesis next to the character’s name on their sheets. You also have the option of a biography at the bottom of your character’s sheet; as long as you PM me their backstory, you have the option of not putting in a biography, putting in one while omitting certain parts of it, or putting in everything about the character. It’s all optional, and will not have an effect on your character getting in as long as I know their full biography. We will be starting in Trainee classes. Before you post your character sheet, please DM your sheets and character backstory to me on Discord or PM me on Reborn (though I will be much faster on Discord). Art Gallery

It made Aidan rather happy to see that his newfound... rival, as she proclaimed, was enthusiastic at his challenge. What he wanted most was to be able to not let anyone down, and it was clear to see that he wasn't going to do that, even if it meant him having to work extra hard on the battlefield. "I don't plan to let you down, I promise. I will do my absolute best the next time we find ourselves in combat together. I trust that you will put in your best effort as well."- 430 replies

"...Ah, so something more like... a contest, perhaps?" Aidan had not been one for competition, let alone one that involved seeing how many people they could bring down. Was war to be put into something like a sport for amusement? Or was it more for a challenge? To be declared a rival so fast was quite the astonishment to Aidan, as he didn't really consider himself that worthy of someone to be a rival. But if it was Beatrix's decision to make him a rival... "Hm... Very well. If I have the honor of being a rival to a fellow mage, then I will try not to disappoint you. If we must engage in combat, then I will most assuredly not back down from the challenge. In fact, it might help my fighting prowess... staying in the back row would not be that fitting of the road of the knight." Giving a small smirk that ended up looking more like a smile if anything, he gave a nod. "I accept your... destined face-off."- 430 replies

The recently introduced Cassidy was a little bit overwhelming to Aidan, as he found himself trying to study her words that were going by at a mile a minute. It was clear that she had lots of confidence in herself, another trait Aidan desired, but it was still a lot to take in. Aidan could only give but a slight nod of understanding as Beatrix and Cassidy both confirmed that they've known each other for a while. However, Beatrix's declaration of battle threw Aidan off greatly, and he couldn't help but throw a slightly surprised look at her when she offered him a challenge. Aidan then also looked rather surprised at the fact that Cassidy was immediately willing to throw plenty of sharp metal if he was a cheater. Aidan did not consider himself the dishonorable type, but... "Er, let's take it one step at a time, shall we? I... can assure you I do not think of bending the rules to my will. I fight with honor..." Aidan turned back to Beatrix, trying to put on a little more of a confident smile. "If you desire a duel... well, I suppose I can't very well turn you down. We'd best take it outside, or to a room with minimal furnishings, however. I would not wish to burn down our lodgings if we are indeed sparring."- 430 replies

Trying to hide his embarrassment at being scared so easily, Aidan looked away, all but too aware of his expression changing into nervous rather than calm. He figured this was going to be... problematic if he did not work on his jumpy behavior. His eyes shut tight when the self-proclaimed Lilac Fox ruffled his hair, not used to such sort of physical contact, making his knees buckle a little. "Erm... thanks?" Were all the words he could muster in response to being... complimented? "Er... you two know each other, then...?"- 430 replies

If there was another problem with Aidan, it's that he tended to get very, very focused on subjects at hand. Whether it was reading or having a chat or being in battle, he'd often forget that basically everything else existed in the midst of what he was doing. As a result, he also tended to be very, very easy to startle. "WAUGH!" Aidan almost tripped, having to catch himself before he fell onto Beatrix. "S-sorry...!" He mentioned to Beatrix, as he regained his footing. He turned around to see the perpetrator; another one of his teammates, thankfully, and not an ambush. His expression turned from that of shock to one that wasn't necessarily angry or upset, but more of a gentle 'why? why would you do that?' "I... I beg your pardon?"- 430 replies

Aidan had to admire the girl's confidence, and found himself growing just a tiny bit more relieved that he did not run too much of a risk of offending as long as he kept a polite tongue. At the same time, it somewhat rubbed off on him. He felt happy seeing that she was fired up just from him coming over to talk to her. "You're correct, I haven't had the pleasure of seeing dark magic in action, but as another mage, I could see that the way you applied it in battle was truly incredible." Aidan did not hesitate with complimenting her prowess. Indeed, he was rather happy to be surrounded by such talented faces. He gave a slight bow to Beatrix after she introduced herself. "My name is Aidan. Well met, Beatr-... Bea." He almost caught himself being overly formal, but decided to go for a more familiar approach. "Like you've noticed, I am more of an anima user, particularly in the art of fire. I haven't had much of an opportunity to enjoy time with a fellow mage in quite some time; I am one of the few mages in Opus's army, after all. I'm delighted to make your acquaintance."- 430 replies

FEF: The Lost Lands [IC Thread]
RedMageCole replied to Twinwolf's topic in Unofficial Official RP Club's General
Aidan could never be more grateful to anyone in his life at this point in time. First, he was grateful to Leslie for supplying him with a brand new Fire tome even though it only looked slightly worn. Then, he was grateful to Winston and the king for allowing him to rest in this wonderful guest house. He hadn't known an actual place that felt like a home since... well... home. Before he could start suddenly moping, he heard Johan's booming voice in his head. Stop getting yourself down. You're in luxurious company, show some self respect. And in the meantime, stop slouching. Stand up straight. Another thing he had to be thankful for was Johan. His recent interactions with him made him try to show some initiative with being social, and not be worrying about everything or be reclusive every chance he got. All of his thoughts to tell him to cut it out have usually been in Johan's voice, like a shoulder angel with a long beard. As Aidan finished inspecting the entirety of the guest house, he caught a familiar face in the corner of his eye. Was that the dark magic user? He never got to thank her as well. Almost immediately as he heard the small Johan tell him to go thank her, he found himself walking to her, clutching his new tome in hopes that they could somewhat resonate as magic users. Finishing up walking towards Beatrix, he gave a little bit of a cough, which was more on accident than to draw attention to himself. "...Good evening. Forgive me if I may seem abrupt, but... I wanted to thank you for banding together with us and helping us with that battle. Your dark magic was incredible, and I don't think we would have been able to get far without your help... Thank you."- 430 replies
