  1. Lucy continued crying, even throughout Baldur and Shin's reassurances even if they managed to make her slow down her cries of anguish just a little bit. However, Shin's pat on the head was a bit overkill— just as he had finished wondering what he was smelling, Lucy threw up a little bit onto the sand. "Thanksh..." At least now she just looked completely dazed rather than constantly crying her eyes out.
  2. Arthur turned his attention to Justine. He didn't look as flustered to see her— he internally took note of her bathing suit, making absolute sure to not let his eyesight wander downwards in fear of a horrible misunderstanding... He looked out at the ocean with her, a sigh escaping him. "...Yeah... it's hard to enjoy it in Ria where it's mostly frozen over..." Arthur's eyes lowered down at the waves. "...She never had enough money to leave Ria, but she wanted to see the ocean so badly..." He suddenly gritted his teeth, almost kicking himself. "Damn it, I told myself not to think about that and I did it anyways..."
  3. With Reiko and Tabitha dropping, I would like to make the announcement that we need exactly one new player for Mortal Transgressions! Though Tabitha was a healer, being a healer applicant is not required. In fact, as I think it was silly to just say "oh I slightly prefer magic applicants" (not that they are needed anymore now) before, there is no need to worry about what class to go for. I have a specific idea in mind for where the character will be. It is a loose fit into the backstory, however it is minor spoilers for Mortal Transgressions, so if you are a player and want to be completely surprised on where the story is going to literally be going (even though you'll find out in the first five seconds of Chapter 5 which is right after beach episode), do not open this spoiler! When making your character's sheet, please also note where they will be adding their +5% growths for First Class (keeping it separate, you don't start with the 5% after all), as well as the extra subcategory that they will be taking for the Level 10 bonus! As the story is currently up to Chapter 5, I have made a Story So Far for those thinking of joining to get a quick summary of what has happened so far! Applications will be due exactly two weeks from now on September 27th (any more than that and I will explode with the combined efforts of the pressure of selection and my schoolwork)! Feel free to post your sheet right away, quoting it if reusing a previous sheet. However, it is important that you message me your bio before you post the bio, omitting the bio wherever you wish to omit as necessary.
  4. Lucy had kept silent to herself as she listened to Baldur before watching him go off at Shin. In fact, the two of them were starting to seem very hazy to her, like there were a lot of them. Their words blurred together, but Baldur's final words specifically stood out. "Second... batch... Famine always... made second batches... for Lucifer... b-because Lucifer always th-thought he'd... m-mess up the first one..." Tears began to well up in Lucy's eyes as a very faint blush made itself evident... Oh no. "I... I-I'm so horrible, th-they took such good care of me a-and I left them, I-I miss them, I miss my family Baldur, Shin, I missh my family..." Almost immediately, she was sobbing and kneeling on the sand.
  5. Lucy paused, thinking to herself. "Mmm... I feel nice and cool inside... The iced tea was actually really nice— you made it yourself? What's in it?" Her body had a small sway, but nothing too alarming. For now. ——— Kane took a deep breath, staring up at the sky. "...Mmm... Probably in a little while. For now, I just need to lay down... I don't often do that, even when it's nighttime."
  6. Lucy didn't quite hear Baldur at first— however, just as he finished his sentence she finally snapped out of it. "A-ah- sorry!" Lucy nervously handed it back. "I-It was just... really refreshing... oh, I hope I didn't ruin your drink..." There was still enough to drink left in there... but it was still a bit of a worrying amount that was missing.
  7. Lucy stopped being so teary-eyed, looking up as she tried (futilely) to rub the tears out of her eyes with her sleeves... She didn't have sleeves. Her scarred arms had to be where she did it. "Th... thank you..." She sounded relieved, even if a little bit sad. She decided just a little sip was fine... Lucy took the iced tea and sipped it slowly— a strange face came to her as she realized that it didn't really taste like what she thought it would. However, it was cold and refreshing... Perhaps she was ending up sipping a little bit too much.
  8. Lucy suddenly felt really guilty for making Baldur feel hurried. "I-I'm sorry, I didn't mean-" She was completely oblivious as to why Baldur might have been hurried, but she still felt guilty enough to look down with a bit of tears in her eyes. "I didn't... I'm sorry- you don't have to, I've been... being rude and intrusive, I don't want you to have to... I-I'm sorry." She wasn't quite cut out to be like Mim.
  9. Lucy wasn't really certain why Baldur was so insistent. She did, however, decide briefly to give in— however, she turned and looked and saw Mim showing Fey something. This... deterred Lucy further. "But... but she's busy..."
  10. Lucy looked a bit sad at this. She had expected it to probably not work, but it was still worth a try. "Um..." She was ready to lay off immediately, but tried to think— what would Mim do? Mim would be a bit more pushy, right? Insistent like that?... She decided to try that. "But it's... really hot... and, um... I would be okay if I just had a... sip..." She got visibly flustered. Lucy didn't have quite the prowess Mim had.
  11. Her panic having been brought to a boil, Lucy panted as she skittered away from the water. She noticed how sweaty she was— she wasn't certain if it was out of nerves or just the heat. She looked around nervously, before spotting something— or someone. Well, someone and something. She fiddled with her hands, recalling Famine's words... before all that had happened. Pesty, guess what? This is a super cool trick— if you ask your brother for something, he'll get it for you only after a little bit of grumbling! Isn't that really cool? Hey, speaking of which, can you ask him to get me- I mean you an extra pillow to sleep on? She remembered how strange it was that he had said yes to her, and even found one after not too long despite it being the dead of night. She never did ask where that pillow came from, having left it in the same spot where she slept on it in... But Lucy wondered— was that just a Lucifer thing to do, or would it work on others? She felt badly for being a bit of a mooch, but she was really, really hot and nervous... ...So she nervously tip-toed up to Baldur. "I- um-... Baldur? I'm... I'm sorry if I'm... being a bit... selfish— c-can I have some of your tea...? It... it looks so cold and I'm really, really hot..."
  12. Eventually, an hour had passed and the crew was able to get together without much issue— also having gotten the opportunity to change into bathing suits. Kane stood at attention as he scoped out the beach— it had been recently cleaned up and the water looked quite nice. "Well, then... Enjoy the vacation day, everyone." Kane said with a small sigh. With that, he laid out a towel to lay down for a moment before he went off and had any real fun. Arthur, meanwhile, awkwardly stared out at the water. "...We... swim in the water, right...?" He awkwardly made his way to the ocean, curiously dipping his toes in the water. He stopped before turning away from the ocean, sighing and walking to the edge of the beach, contemplating something. Lucy got farther than Arthur— she got about waist deep in the water before scurrying out. "I- uh- wait- wh-what if the water takes me away? I- can someone make sure I don't get swept out?" Simeon and, surprisingly, Sid did not even get close to the water— Simeon set up a workstation by the edge of the beach and Sid eagerly got to hammering a spearhead. "I'm givin' ye a free day, what's'a matter with ye? Ye're always bellyachin' about how I don't give ye a break..." "Screw that! I'm this close to finishing this damned lance and you know it! I am going to finish it today even if it kills me!" With that, the Virtuous crew was left to enjoy themselves for once in their time of constant working.
  13. Kane paused for a bit, giving a little smile... It actually had some sort of mixture of relief into it. "Don't worry, I had a feeling you wouldn't be alone on that so I brought enough money to pay for just about everyone. I'll pay for your swimsuit, no questions asked."
  14. Lucy admired Mim's towel for a moment, nodding vigorously. "Okay...! That works!" Lucy hurried over, grabbing a similarly simple towel— however, hers was white instead of Mim's grey. "I like this one... and it kinda matches too!" ——— Kane had been quick about finding a set of orange-red swim trunks— he had already properly paid for it, and was hanging around the vendor and (mostly) ignoring the guy's attempts to chat when Lizaveta tapped him on the shoulder. "What's wrong, Lizaveta?"
  15. Lucy couldn't really fathom why Mim seemed to be so tense. "Y-Yeah, let's, um... go do that!" Lucy said in a feeble attempt to try and go along with Mim to make her feel better. She gave a vigorous nod to Baldur, but had a feeling deep down that she wasn't going to want to leave Mim's side for a little while. ——— Arthur was in a similar boat as Justine— he could feel the steam beginning to come out of his ears at even the idea of what Justine was suggesting until she started to wind down. It didn't take too long until Arthur figured it out. Perhaps Baldur had a point for once. And yet it was just hard being around good-looking girls... He hadn't known this kind of attraction since... Well, needless to say there was nothing to be done. He felt his coherence coming back even if he was still staring at his coat on someone else. "...Yes, indeed. I wasn't actually certain about the vacation myself when Stella told me to give you all the notice, but everyone's been quite enthusiastic. I've... never really been, growing up sheltered in Ria and all. I've only heard stories."
  16. "P-Please, you had to have known—" Arthur briefly didn't register that she was messing with him, but caught on quite quickly once she spoke her last words. "W-Well, I can't ask for it back now- I've already gotten used to wearing this and now it'd just be hot— y-you are wearing a swimsuit under there, right?" Baldur was still there, and it was not helping Arthur. "Wh-Why don't you go help Shin pick something out, or something!?"
  17. Lucy's expression brightened at Mim's suggestion. "Oh...! Yes, that makes a lot of sense! I... don't have a towel, but, um, I can find one! They're those big soft blankets of fuzz, right?" She did her best to try and describe a towel as someone who wasn't one hundred percent certain what a towel was. Meanwhile, Arthur managed to calm himself down as Mim was no longer a daunting presence... Until Baldur provoked his wrath once more. "Oh, quit your judgment— if Mim is going to wear something like that, am I not allowed to admire-" Before he could get too ranty, Justine's voice caused Arthur's ears to perk up. He turned to her, in his mind praying that she wasn't in something that would cause him to knock out— only to be greeted with exactly that sight upon turning. "Dh- I- J- Just- Justi- that's my- there's no- did you buy that- no that's Rian make- that's definitely- I- too big- covering your whole- where's swimsuit- Justine!" The crown prince of Ria, the nation known for its wrath. The son of the most wrathful, angered man in the continent of Purgus, and here he was sounding utterly baffled, somewhat offended, and absolutely one hundred percent full of sheer embarrassment— perhaps a little something else. And of course, once again, he had completely forgotten about Baldur's presence. In the background, Lucy tilted her head a little bit in response to Justine. "I... think that'd be too big on me..."
  18. Lucy's eyes fell to her shoulder, not quite meeting Baldur's expression. "I... I want to be able to... be like everyone else... I-I mean, I could do it just until we get to the beach so nobody questions it, but... If... If people don't wear sleeves while swimming, then... then I want to swim like everyone... j-just as long as... my scars aren't... distracting anyone..."
  19. Arthur snapped for a moment, his innate anger about to come out in a burst of fury at the comment about him learning to be more royal. "You—"Mim, however, quelled Arthur's anger in an instant with the swim trunks hitting Baldur in the face— quickly replacing his fury with a 'snrk' noise. He looked back to Mim and Lucy— Lucy having become a little less frozen up, but still somewhat frozen— in order for him to try and respond in a decent manner. "Alright... I'll try not to—" Oh. Oh. Leg. Mim was sticking her leg out and it was quite nice— "They... look very nice on you, Mim. Very cute." Lucy began awkwardly fiddling with her hands. "Um... Maybe I wouldn't mind just a couple of more bracelets..." Despite now being able to be a bit more positive about her body to show it off, her scarred arms were still bothering her a lot. It was clear she didn't show them off— ever.
  20. Mercia took a deep breath as she finally stopped the Minotaur's rampage. It seems her aim hadn't deteriorated too far... she was quite thankful for that much. Though mostly remaining silent and not really thinking, Mercia mulled over Eulalia's words. Now that she had mentioned it, she did endure torture and slavery. If this crystal was important to the Underworld, then... "...I wouldn't mind shooting it. After all they've done to us..."
  21. A light giggle came out of Lucy as if Mim squeezed out the giggly filling in Lucy. She paused, briefly a bit confused, but not outwardly denying the idea of a new codename... She walked rather slowly to meet the boys, trying her absolute best to avoid covering herself up— Lucy had a few more things to hide as she stood as still as a statue, in a light blue one-piece and strapless bathing suit. Other than her broken Mark and her badly scarred arms... She actually had a somewhat ample chest for her small size. "Hie." Her voice was so mortified that what was an attempt at a 'hi' or a more casual 'hey' came out as that. "She actually does look quite nice, doesn't she, Baldur?" As his eyes quickly darted away from Mim after looking over Lucy (without much of a blush, he could at least pride himself on not being that shallow), Arthur looked at Baldur with his tone subtly conveying a 'now it's my turn, motherfucker' only to Baldur.
  22. Something about that word- beautiful made Lucy's anxiety seem to completely melt away. Even her arms drooped off to the side; she was still hugging herself, but now it was just around her belly. Her face was tinged a gentle pink... "N-No, I... I think it's fine..." Lucy patted her left arm— a particularly nasty cut was there. She winced a little even just touching it, before spotting a somewhat large bracelet off to the side. She quickly grabbed it and covered it up. "O... okay! I... I think that should be okay... I-I'm ready to see the... um... b-boys." Lucy felt a frog in her throat as she said that last word, but still stood tall.
  23. Lucy's panic subsided. "Oh... oh, those are what those were for... oh." Lucy scurried off into the changing room. A little bit of audible whining could be heard from behind the door before she could be heard putting one of the options on. "Nh-..." A little more shifting around. An awkward pause as a two-piece is picked up and then subsequently put down. "...M-... maybe not... this one..." Lucy continued to dig around in the pile— "Wh-why can't they have sleeves...?" She said, lamenting over all of the lack of sleeved options. Eventually, she could be heard putting another one on. "M-Mim, these are all really, really tight-... w-wait, actually, maybe that's not a bad thing- o-okay, I think, um... I think this might be... best..." Lucy scurried out, looking extremely modest towards Mim as Lucy held onto herself, doing her absolute best to cover her top half. Her scarred arms were evident— as would her broken Mark if she didn't have a firm hand over her shoulders. Luckily for them, there was practically nobody else in the store and the guy at the front was the only one they'd need to really fool. "I-I shouldn't be showing this much skin..." Lucy pouted, complete lack of confidence in her voice. "B-But I think it's... p-probably the best option..."
  24. Arthur rolled his eyes, opting not to yell angry denials at Baldur before they went to go shop... Before long, Arthur picked something modest enough— an open shirt bound by a necklace-like binding with some basic red swim trunks. It was almost like he had completely forgotten he was a prince— actually, that was probably exactly his intention. "Indeed," Arthur agreed with Baldur but for subconsciously different reasons. "But it seems we just picked quickly, so hopefully it shouldn't be too long... I can't imagine they'd take that long." Meanwhile, Lucy was staring at all of the swimsuits— even the one-piece bathing suits were making her crumple, and there weren't any decent full-body options. "All of these... kind of... scary..." Her eyes drooped to the ones Mim picked out, a breath of relief coming out of her. "Um— y-yeah!- I-I'll, um, try them on." She took them, now going right back to crumpling under her nerves. "W-W-Wait- H-how do I try them on?... I-I don't try them on in the store, do I!?"
  25. Lucy squeaked when her hand was suddenly grabbed, but nodded regardless. "I... Okay." Arthur didn't look immensely thrilled that he had to leave Mim, but tried to put it in the perspective of the fact that he could actually breathe. It probably also helped that he left his coat in the wagon, completely vulnerable to being snatched up. "Right— Let's make this quick." So I can see— No, shut the fuck up Arthur, you have an actual excuse. "I get impatient really quickly with shopping unless I'm shopping for flowers."
