What is the EOF error if it's not a bug? How do I fix it

I downloaded the V10 file and the patch 10 notes but every time I load the game it says EOF Error. I mean everything seems to be working fine but I want to make sure before I continue the game. I'm not very far into it though so if it's an issue with the save file I can restart. If someone tells me how to find the save file, because I don't have a saves folder. I had the patch notes already for v9 but when I downloaded V10 I extracted everything and removed the v9 stuff after I tried to run the v10 launcher because the EOF error appeared and I saw where the homepage said download the latest version and make sure you have the patch notes. So I just put the patch notes in the latest version folder. Do I need to merger the data folders and other stuff?
