I can only answer to the "multiple save files" question, and yes, you can. Just go to start up menu and check the bars, there should be one named "Other save files" and an option to create new one, too.

So how come everyone else except her that went there were corrupted? No, it shouldn't be finished, check the badges if it has a pyramid one, then it's finished, otherwise just go to the tournament area and start the story. Sidequests are all done, so you don't have to do anything from previous chapters

There is also one in Terajuma Shore And one spot is also in Honec Woods (West of Yui's ranch), where you get a long sidequest, definitely worth it tho.
