I am BACK and FINALLY playing Rejuv, no way I'm playing it on Reborn difficulty- as gratifying as those gym wins were, the pain and suffering and literal countless times I spent crying in frustration while simultaneously consulting my friend who plays competitive are not worth it, and I just want to enjoy the story- besides, I'm gonna replay Reborn eventually anyway, not make the mistakes I made before and, of course, inevitably suffer again, so! Casual Rejuv it is!
If I had known Rejuv had a casual difficulty, I wouldn't have spent two years cowering in fear and saying 'ehhhh I'll play it eventually' until one night a week ago my internet was so bad I decided you know what, it's gonna take half an hour to download, but I'm doing it. I'm playing Rejuv. Still excited to replay Reborn, but I'll definitely wait until it's finished to restart that.
-
So I started playing Gale of Darkness and had an absolute EXISTENTIAL CRISIS when I realized Agate Village is LITERALLY IN REBORN. I'm still floored by how ingenious that was and how well it was tied into the world of Reborn! Does that mean Reborn is actually the Orre region??

Yup. There are actually two different tricks to it, though I don't remember which leads to the eevee rather than the other thing. The tricks are:
1) Go through all the doors that don't have railroads leading into them.
2) Go through all the doors that have two rocks near them. (He did say that he tried to mark his travels)
They're... not the most intuitive methods, but the poor guy wouldn't have been driven to such great lengths if they had been, ya know?
-
The first you listed goes to the Eevee, the second goes to the room where you find a TM and a Field Effect read out. I didn't realize there were two stones by every door, I just noted and wrote down the pattern by trying all the doors until I progressed because I noticed the four way tracks continued if you went the right way. The way the notebook described it I thought it was one of the ruin doors like under Reborn, but I guess not? Oh well lol

I've been making recreations of the pixel art of a lot of the vs. sprites in Sandbox but I can't upload them here because I know I wouldn't have enough file space- so far I've done Fern, Luna, Cain, Serra, Florinia, Cal, Aya, Titania, Adrienne, Ciel, Charlotte, DJ Arclight, Blake and Corey; and I'm going to be doing Shelly, Amaria, Hardy, Terra and Julia next. if I figure out how to use imgur I'll link them!
-
Imgur's pretty simple to use, from my experience. Just hit the "Upload" button at the top, drag the image you want over from the file folder, and viola!
Once the file's uploaded, there'll be a little arrow on the top right corner of the image that brings up a menu when hovered over; click on "Get Share Links", press the "Copy" button under the "BB Code (Forums)", then come over here and Paste the code like any other copied text. The forums themselves will translate it into a visible image, like what I have in the Spoiler below:
SpoilerYou don't even have to make an account to do it if you don't want to!
I haven't, RIP -

I literally just made an update but I can't stop thinking-
I hate him so much but like-WHEN DO I GET TO KICK FERN'S ASS AGAIN?
WHERE IS HE?
I swear if he ends up being the champion... -
Now, I've never met a puzzle I couldn't solve, but you guys got me with that damn slide puzzle. I'm sure if I'd given it long enough I could have figured it out, but if I'm being honest I just wanted the dang password and to move on- and I've also never done a slide puzzle anyway, so like, eh? I don't feel too terrible about looking up the solution? regardless, that was probably harder than some of the battles lmao

WooO! I'm glad the battle against Shelly and Cain was nowhere near as difficult as I was expecting it to be, beat it on the third try, though it was my first actual attempt at beating it, the other two were just seeing what I should expect, really. Glad it wasn't actually a 6 vs. 12 battle like I was expecting it to be.
Update: just beat two of the battles that come after that, THAT was rough and used up all of my revive stock, I really hope there's not a third battle because I'll be screwed if there is.
Can't help but wonder what would have happened if I'd lost the battles though, would it have changed the outcome? -

I think it turned out to not actually be 6 vs. 12 because I didn't have to fight most of shelly's team, it was Alolan Marowak, Alolan Muk, Primarina, Yanmega, Leavanny, Nidoking, Mikikyu, and one other at the start of the battle, I might have forgotten one or two but I don't think it was actually 12 pokemon.

Well, that's certainly a curious strategy. There aren't very many pokemon that can reasonably take 328 damage, most things that outslow aggron often are run in Trick Room so that the difference no longer matters.
Anyway, congratulations on taking down the Guardian Princess on your first go! You might not have much of the current game left, admittedly, but don't let your guard down quite yet either~

LMAO just one-shot the Zekrom with Dragon Rush, what even
I had a screenshot but apparently it's too big of file so oh well

UM...? so I was in the scrapyard and there was this really long train I navigated though and when I came out the other side of it my character just disappeared and what I assume was a train passing sound played. after that I couldn't do anything and just had to close the game. Is this supposed to happen?
-
FINALLY oh my god that was ridiculous.
I had to keep rearranging my team and basically praying to god that my Aggron went first and the moves missed my Crobat because this run was just pure luck on what moves were and weren't used. When I was able to get rid of the Whimsicott before it used Tailwind it wasn't too much of an issue, aside from the fact that most of the runs all of my pokemon were knocked out by that point so it didn't matter. I got really lucky and avoided a lot of damage and landed a lot of critical hits on my winning run. Seems like every time I make a comment to someone- doesn't matter who- about how I'm stuck and losing my mind, I win it the next try. What's up with that?

Oh I can see that. I've already got duplicate shiny swinub and sandyghast, but their IVs are all too terrible to use -_-
@Autumn Zephyr Thanks for the advice, I do still have a rejuv run that needs mons and I really want to try using Boomburst Swellow sometime, so hunting it in Rejuv sounds like a great idea!
-
bruh shiny steelix looks so awesome, I'm leveling and evolving my ever-growing collection of shinies and when I saw that one I was just speechless, I love it

OH MY GOD
OH MY GOD
OH MY GOD
I DID IT
I FINALLY DID IT OH M Y G O D
I'M like, actually crying this was so stressful it's not even funny holy JVNALEBVNDSVKADI managed to land Fissure on her Espeon, I used Stealth rock by using Ditto to transform into Aurorus, kept reviving and, well, I never imagined I'd actually use a Ditto or Stealth Rock, but seeing how much it destroyed my team, I figured I'd try turning the tables and seeing how Zel liked getting Stealth Rock'd. My god. this was the worst so far. I'm so glad this is over.

Triple congratulations! Devon Corporation is generally the part of the game where people are stuck because there's no way to go out and train to get better mons or buy healing items since you get caught by the Meteors. Needless to say, the oppressive atmosphere in it doesn't help either, and you're even more likely to have a bad time if you don't know in advance what's going to happen next, let alone if you didn't understand the puzzle mechanics with the electrified panels! *wink at you, Shofu* While we're at it, I hope you didn't suffer too much against Pulse-Magnezone, because this thing has demoniacally high SpA stats.
In other words, good job! You managed to take down one of the most beasty part of the main story
-
-
Haha, thank you all; yes, the pulse magnezone did give me problems but in the end it was really her Aurorus that killed me, hence why I won only when I was able to use Dragon Tail on it before used Stealth Rock. While Magnezone did one-shot my pokemon, I was always able to land the first the hit so I was able to eventually take it down and kept reviving my pokemon. I'm really glad I bought a whole bunch of revival herbs before I went to this.
By the way, about Ame,
SpoilerI sat on my bed just frozen for a solid minute, that was brutal. And also like, "uhhhhhhh who's gonna be the champion now? I swear to god if I get to the end and it's Fern I'm gonna push him off a cliff"
-
No but like seriously, can someone tell me why my Focus sash disappeared? I really need that... the same thing happened with my Weakness Policy. they just vanished and they're not being held by any pokemon, I've triple checked every pokemon and they're just gone.

Most of the items held by the Pokemon of Clown Indra aren't available yet in the game. There was a time when I used an A-Muk against him in Agate Circus since it's one of the rare Pokemon who can learn all those moves simultaneously along with Snorlax and the three elemental monkeys. Clown Indra fights you with one of his ten mono-coloured teams. You should try to challenge him and keep your fingers crossed to battle against his yellow team as this one includes a Ribombee holding a Focus Sash. The topic I posted above explains the steps to follow for "items laundering" since you're not supposed to end a fight with an item belonging to your foes, even if you stole it by using Thief.

Zel in the Devon building is starting to really piss me off...
Honestly that's all I have to say at the moment, I'm getting really annoyed with her bs Espeon
*five minutes later edit*
ACTUAL SCREAMING AND CRYING AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAANBJFSPDKALVF BRUH IM NEVER GONNA GET THAT PERFECT RUN AGAIN I SWEAR TO GOD I KNEW I sHOULD HAVE JUST BROUGHT MY ABSOL BUT MY FOCUS SASH LITERALLY JUST DOESN'T EXIST, I DONT KNOW WHAT HAPPENED TO IT IM SO SCREWED
LEVEL OF STRESS 99%
Edit 2: I'm getting to the point where I don't believe I actually can possibly progress. There's no way for me to level or raise the EVs of my pokemon, there's no way for me to get more healing items, there's no way for me to get another Focus Sash, there's just NOTHING I can to do to get any advantage in this fight. I'm just stuck here. Before when I was stuck with Shelly, there were still options. I still had ways that I could re-evaluate and improve my strategy, but here, there's just NOTHING. NOTHING I can do to change this endless loop of failure. I just want to progress the story, I don't even care about winning this fight at this point, I just want to move on but I'm locked in and I don't know what to do. If anyone has suggestions, I'll gladly take them, but my resources are very limited at this point.
I know I can waste hours and all of my money trying to level the pokemon and their EVs from the fight itself but I'm not too keen as to throw away all of the money I've saved up for this crap. I might just have to cheese it at this point, I don't have a lot of options. -
aHAHAHAHAHA
My computer is acting up and this battle TOOK SO LONG it was painful to sit through all the agonizingly slow transitions but after a few tries I beat it! Once again Avalugg proved to be a vital member of my team, taking out the Mega Altaria in one hit!
I was actually able to oneshot most of her pokemon, only problem was the ones that moved first and damaged my pokemon...
-
oH MY GOD. I FINALLY DID IT. THIS TOOK ME ALL NIGHT. I think my heart rate reached unsafe levels when I realized I still had his Garchomp left to beat, but DAMN IS AVALUGG A TANK!!! Icy gorl is tonight's OG and earned herself a permanent slot in my party, hot dang.
I was sweating through this. I'm still shaking as I type this. This was INTENSE. SERIOUSLY.
-
Um... I beat Taka in the sewer but now I can't find Titania, am I missing something?

Uh, go to your computers File Explorer, and search for 'Saved Games' in the bar on the top-right corner of the window. Open that, then open the folder labeled 'Pokemon Reborn'- you should find a file named 'Game.rxdata' and a number of files whose name read '(No. of save)-[CharacterName]-[PlayTime]-[BadgeCount].rxdata'. the latter are your backup saves.
From there, you rename the most recent backup 'Game.rxdata' and delete the original. When you next open the game, it'll be as if the backup was your last save.
Edit: If I didn't help much, perhaps this guide on the forums will?
