Does October 4 1957 ring a bell?
Yeah of course it does! It's the start of the "Space age" after all.
And tomorrow is it's (input number here) anniversary!

I sort of remembered, in the back of my mind, that 1957 was Laika's year. But I never remembered Sputnik's date, nor that it was just one month before Laika.
That is, indeed, a day to celebrate. Although perhaps the 64th anniversary would be better.
