How To Add Custom Crests

I'm able to create a crest and link it to a pokemon just fine, but whenever I make a change to the battle_move.rb file it just doesnt work for some reason. Even when I try to remove effects from other crests those effects dont get removed. Im restarting my game and compiling data each time I change something. any idea what im doing wrong? -
I cant find any information on where to get mega stones anywhere :/ sorry if this is the wrong place to ask this.
