As important as the PC. Doux because, well, Claude would either be dead or very unhappily in the closet. The mons can help reflect certain aspects of a PC and help promote development in a lot of different ways. I'd like to think I've done that fairly well by introducing Lancelot and Colere.

Also, Claudes main interactions with Evan have been fairly short, the recent argument probably being the most words they've spoken. Geez Chim, give Claude a chance to make Evan sparkle

Actually, that makes me want to bring up an interesting question. Do you guys view your Pokemon as important as the PC or more as side characters?

Depends on the Pokémon. Skarmory is important for the story and Clefairy was to show another side of Evan. I haven't really done much with Vaporeon and Ninetales, but Vaporeon should get more screen time after Evan makes his decision. Another one I have planned is also going to be important and with a team between 8-10 Pokémon it's too much to treat them all as main characters.

Work for it. He's hard to approach and I originally planned for him to join RoG. If you want to change his mind you need to put some effort into it. xD

I see them as Nearly as important as the PC, soldier... but in the end the character has more import because... they should honestly be the glue that keeps the mons all together in the first place.

For Mareek I've more or less just set it all up into a series of Triumpharants which will make up the overall team, layered together depending on how important the members are. The first Three, Erce, Java, and Nemo are the most important members of his team by far because each of them, upon their final evolution stages, will represent a possible path Mareek can decide to take in life- Erce represents a position of leadership and command; IE, head of interpol, etc. and is also his first and oldest partner, which corresponds to the fact that that particular motivation is his oldest line of thought. Nemo represents the path of a lone wanderer more or less, a silent warrior who travels the land not really knowing what he's looking for, but lending a hand where a hand is needed in order to keep order, and following his feet to wherever they may take him, He is also the youngest member, corresponding to the fact that his path is the least likely to occur. and Java represents the middle ground between the two, the path of using intellect and drive to procure a leadership position of sorts but then do instead of following the beaten path, taking the rail road north, going west instead and doing something rather unexpected with it and setting into motion something new, some different way of going about something that needed a bit of shaking up anyway. He represents the path of displacing the old ways and installing the new. ((I'd talk more about this one in particular, soldiers, but... character spoilers.))

The next Trio, Riptide the F-gator, Napalm the Typhlosion, and Steve Swiss the Meganium, are more less for side stories and antics for the team with their own little dynamic going of Riptide and Napalm constantly duking it out and Swiss stepping into stop them. They really won't serve any other purpose than that and showing the dynamic of what goes on with his mons when Mareek's not around, along with representing a few side traits of the main trio, Riptide's power and reliable nature is supposed to correspond with Nemo's path, Napalm's vehemence and drive with Erce's path, and Swiss's mediation and unorthodox nature with Java's path. and he needed type coverages, so there's that too...

The last three really won't matter period given how far it'll be until they come onto the team. the D-nite, murica bird Braviary, and Florges are pretty much just gonna always stick to the background as supports for the other two triumpharants

Mossad though... he'll be quite important when the time comes. He represents the path of forgiveness and at the same time the path of redemption (Not for Mareek regarding the redemtion part...) and the consequences and misunderstandings of actions in the past.

All in all, only the first three and the last one really have any import in the end, really actually mean something- The other six planned members of his team could be completely swapped around and changed, and it wouldn't have as drastic an effect on characterization because the same dynamic could be worked out. so... meh.

I see that you've used all of the Johto Starters, sir.

Their Cool

Not as Cool as the Kanto and Sinnoh trio but Still very cool

Feraligatr is Boss,Typloshion is Awesome and Meganium is the middle ground between Good and Bad

Ironically Typloshion is technically my first pokemon period so i have a soft spot for the thing <3

Hey, I started off with Oshawott. lately, though, Oshawott has been having to compete with Fennekin, but Oshawott still has the upper hand. Cyndaquil was my favorite Fire-type starter before Fennekin took its place. For some reason, the Grass-Type Starters never seemed to appeal to me very much...

The Grass type appeal thing all changed when i witnessed Snivy the Smugleaf in all her Glory.Still took Oshawott tho but Serperior is pretty much one of my favourite starters.Samurott just looks really bad ass :D

I really can't say myself. I've done things where I controlled more than 10 characters at once and it's no easy task trying to find a balance. I tend to make them all shine out at one point or another instead of saying Pokemon X and Y are more important than Pokemon Z. If I didn't do this Gypsy and Paradox would kind of be more generic and hardly get any screen time.

No more spying for Corona Bond Mmmkay?

Corona is sad xD

Certain Pokemon are equally as important as the PC. I basically said how I felt about the Pokemon in one of my posts: Pokemon are the animals of the real world so they can influence the PC one way or another. They have feelings of their own and, hence, I treat them each as a separate character. However, Dani's current team are the only ones I will focus on since they are there for most of the adventure. The future Pokemon will usually be in Pokeballs since they can't really walk around or fit in a room once they evolve. This will probably effect Corona too, since Volcaronas are pretty big as well.

There, finally got it done. Just made the battle one post to get 'stalking' out of the way.

Also, the fact that Jetstream learned Air Cutter at the end is because he was at 22, and Timburr being taken down could put that over the edge, with him learning it at the fitting level of 23. That should be okay, especially since it's a controlled NPC, right?

(Air Cutter replaced Leech Life, will reflect in main profile)

And I personally see the Pokemon as 'slightly less important than the trainer, but still important as a team,' and am one to poke-speak. And, aslong as they CAN act as their own, I tend to go with that.

@Turbo: I'd only consider that an issue in a Player vs Player situation. It's usually a cliche of I can't beat this guy, but I'll randomly gain a new awesome power to be able to overcome him.

@Azery: I already know the perfect post to respond do that. I'll have to do it after work though. Seems like Henry's true colors are being exposed to Raiza.

Eh fine,James'd more of a nature loving guy anyways so seeing someone willing to abandon one does anger him.

Anyways Final 2 Team members will be Machamp and either Hippopotas or Tyranitar

Quick question though:Is anyone planning on a Gallade,it covers 2 types James doesnt have just fine :x

You might also consider Medicham for a Fighting/Psychic type.

Wow,You know the Volcarona themselve are kinda small right?

The wings make them seem bigger than they are.

aren't they like, 5 foot tall or something like that? With the wingspan, that makes em pretty freaking big

Evan's mega will be Medicham. And Murdoc might have planned Gallade but I'm not sure.
