Chevaleresse
@ Leftovers Ability: Storm Drain EVs: 252 HP / 4 Atk / 252 SpD Careful Nature - Stealth Rock - Pain Split - Toxic - Rock Tomb My usual lead. Rock Tomb helps support the team and dents a few things in NU, SR is obvious, and decent stall can be pulled off with Pain Split+Toxic. I've used it with mixed success; sometimes their lead just flat out murders it before it does anything. @ White Herb Ability: Sturdy EVs: 4 HP / 252 Atk / 252 Spe Adamant Nature - Shell Smash - Stone Edge - X-Scissor - Earthquake This thing absolutely murders teams once threats are cleared out and it gets an opening to set up. Shell Smash+White Herb allows it to survive quite a few attacks even after smashing once, X-Scissor is reliable STAB, Stone Edge and EQ round out coverage. @ Flame Orb Ability: Guts EVs: 252 Atk / 4 SpA / 252 Spe Naive Nature - Facade - Boomburst - Brave Bird - U-turn Offensive pivot/revenge killer. Absolutely brutalizes teams, especially if it comes in on a resisted hit after a passed wish. If they send in something capable of OHKOing and bulking out an attack, U-turn gets it to safety and maintains momentum. Boomburst bypasses common physical walls and hits crazy hard even with Swellow's rather poor Sp.A. Flame Orb+Facade for almost immediate power, Brave Bird for an emergency STAB attack. @ Choice Scarf Ability: Defeatist EVs: 252 Atk / 4 SpD / 252 Spe Jolly Nature - Stone Edge - Earthquake - Dragon Claw - Aerial Ace Haven't been very successful with this, honestly. I need a replacement. @ Lum Berry Ability: Torrent EVs: 4 HP / 252 Atk / 252 Spe Adamant Nature - Dragon Dance - Aqua Jet - Ice Punch - Waterfall A sweeper. Again, fairly limited success; usually doesn't have the power to OHKO anything relevant after one dragon dance. @ Leftovers Ability: Regenerator EVs: 252 HP / 84 Def / 172 SpD Impish Nature - Toxic - Heal Bell - Wish - Drain Punch My go-to wall. Toxic for stall, Heal Bell for supporting the team should they get an undesirable status (though I'm considering dropping it for something else), Wish for recovery and acting as a cleric, and Drain Punch gives a little bit of offensive presence and recovery, as well as hitting a lot of common switch-ins hard. Lord Bagel
This team looks like its pretty good. Some first look suggestions that i would give is that you have no way to clear the field so a defoger or rapid spinner could be useful. I also noticed that you have no special attackers and that could leave you walled in some circumstances. When it comes to a special attacker I think you might want o look into mismagiusas you also have nothing that can block a rapid spin to keep your rocks on the field. Mismagius @life orb Abillity:Levitate Evs 252 SpA 252 Spe 4 Def Timid Nature shadowball thunderbolt nasty plot destiny bond/ substitute This set works well for you as you are fairly weak to water types and will give you another sweeping option if crustle gets countered. I would replace archeops with this since you havent had luck with it but since you will be loosing a good revenge killer you will have to be careful about not sacrificing your swellow. If revenge kills become to much of a problem i would swap mismagius for scarfed typhlosion. I would also recommend a new lead over cradily. Considering all you are really doing with this thing is setting rocks up and possibly poisoning a pokemon I think you could do better. I would recommend using steelix. Steelix @leftovers abillity:sturdy Evs 252 hp 252 SpD 4 Atk Careful Nature Stealth rocks earthquake Iron head Roar Steelix will always get rocks up with sturdy and woth roar is a fantastic way to stop any boosted sweeper if it his high enough hp. It also can do fairly good damage with earthquake and iron head and walls many common threats to NU. Lastly you might want to swap boomburst on swellow with quick attack for some strong priority and of your not getting enough power from it you could sacrifice more of its health with a toxic orb but loosing the attack halving effect. Jelly
First off, Cradily is never a very good lead. And looking at your team, a Vileplume would be much better than Cradily since you have a MASSIVE fighting weakness. I suggest this set: Vileplume @ Black SludgeAbility: Effect SporeEVs: 52 HP / 252 Def / 204 SpeBold Nature- Sludge Bomb- Giga Drain- Hidden Power [Fire]- Synthesis So you can outspeed base 80's with any weird speed invests.I'm going to reccomend you use this Crustle set: Crustle @ Mental HerbAbility: SturdyEVs: 252 Atk / 4 Def / 252 SpeJolly Nature- Spikes- Rock Blast- Stealth Rock- Knock Off This set will help your gatr sweep even more than before by setting up at least 1 layer of hazards guaranteed. Since your team is still very weak to certain 'mons such at Hariyama and Sawk, I'm reccomending you use a bulky version of Rotom in place of Archeops: Rotom @ LeftoversAbility: LevitateEVs: 248 HP / 52 Def / 208 SpeTimid Nature- Shadow Ball- Volt Switch- Pain Split- Will-O-Wisp This thing takes a surprising amount of damage and can still beat up on many things in the tier.Audino has gone down in usage for a few reasons. Firstly, Fighting types are much more prevalent than before since Spiritomb is no longer in the tier to stop them. Secondly, Audino is just kinda meh in comparison to other support mons LOL! So, I'm going to suggest you change Audino to Mesprit because Mesprit murders spinners and defoggers and has access to healing wish. Mesprit @ Life OrbAbility: LevitateEVs: 252 SpA / 4 SpD / 252 SpeTimid Nature- Thunderbolt- Healing Wish- Psyshock- Ice Beam Now for smaller changes. Swellow with Flame Orb is bad because you take more damage per turn than you would if you ran Toxic Orb. Also change out Boomburst for quick attack because just seeing that on a physical Swellow set made me want to quit pokes. You can put those useless EVs into something worthwhile like Def or SDef. Change your Gatr EVs to 64 HP / 252 Atk / 112 Spe so you can outspeed max speed base 65 pokes. Also change Dragon Dance to Swords Dance because DD gatr isnt as good as it used to be. You're much better off just getting the 2x attack boost and ripping thru shit with waterfalls and aqua jets. Also change the Lum Berry to Mystic Water since you have healing wish support to let gatr sweep a second time. Overall I give this team a 6/10 because of how many weaknesses it has to common threats in the tier. You also still have no check to Specs/Scarf Typhlosion. But if you fodder something and bring in gatr you should be able to smack it with an Aqua Jet so its eruption wont be doing as much. Lord Emvee
Ni hao murlan. Looking at your team it's pretty weak to a lot of NU stuff, you don't have much coverage and you don't have a way to deal with hazards when you have 3 mons weak to it. I've edited it for you and made it a lot better. Let's begin. So Cradily isn't really a good SR Lead plus you're using pain split when it gets recover imo you're better off replacing it for the probopass which helps answer a lot more stuff than cradily does while also giving you momentum: Probopass (M) @ Leftovers Trait: Sturdy EVs: 248 HP / 56 SAtk / 204 SDef Calm Nature (+SDef, -Atk) - Stealth Rock - Flash Cannon - Toxic - Volt Switch Crustle isn't too reliable in beating variety of threats but if you think about it, SD Natural Gift Leafeon does a better job at taking out NU threats than this guy does, so we'll change it to that. For example, it is able to do like 80% to a max defense Vileplume with Natural Gift + Occa Berry. Leafeon (M) @ Occa Berry Trait: Chlorophyll EVs: 252 Atk / 4 Def / 252 Spd Jolly Nature (+Spd, -SAtk) - Natural Gift - Leaf Blade - Knock Off - Swords Dance Now don't even think about using mixed swellow it's just not reliable in power like flame orb + boomburst isnt gonna do anything i would recommend switching it to an all out attacker known as Kangaskhan cuz it's very good at dealing with threats in the NU tier + it dies too quickly koni chiwa Kangaskhan (F) @ Silk Scarf Trait: Scrappy EVs: 252 Atk / 4 Def / 252 Spd Adamant Nature (+Atk, -SAtk) - Return - Earthquake - Sucker Punch - Fake Out And nextly seems we have a choice scarf archaeops but what's this i smell? chirp chirp no way to get rid of hazards uh oh gotta switch it for the xatu here is the set. Xatu (M) @ Leftovers Trait: Magic Bounce EVs: 248 HP / 84 Def / 176 Spd Bold Nature (+Def, -Atk) - Roost - Psychic - Calm Mind - Dazzling Gleam Instead of Feraligatr try the family man Seismitoed it was founded by the big ed himself and is a man maker of its own kind Seismitoad (M) @ Leftovers Trait: Water Absorb EVs: 200 HP / 208 Def / 56 SDef / 44 Spd Bold Nature (+Def, -Atk) - Toxic - Sludge Wave - Scald - Earth Power And finally, we can swap out the silly drain punch audino for something more manly. We'll swap it out for baby rupes favorite Pokemon, Typhlosion (it uses eRUPEtion) Typhlosion (M) @ Choice Specs Trait: Blaze EVs: 252 SAtk / 4 SDef / 252 Spd Timid Nature (+Spd, -Atk) - Flamethrower - Focus Blast - Eruption - Extrasensory Hope you guys like the team any comments are appreciated it's a pretty awesome NU team overall that deals with a variety of threats and can be really annoying to face. Jelly
looks like a good team emvee! i rate it 9/10. some suggestions, running 216 speed on kanga with 40 evs in hp make you bulkier and you're still able to outspeed base 85s :] also putting 92 speed evs on seismitoad would be better than putting that 56 in Sdef as then you can outspeed such mons as uninvested sawk, qwilfish, and lanturn :] Edited September 27, 2014 by JellyMan
Chevaleresse
I wanted tips on how to improve the team, not for the entire team to be replaced. . .
Kamina
Whao guyz http://www.pokemonreborn.com/forum/index.php?showtopic=3279 more specificallyIndeed, it is often best to try and deviate as little as possible from the original team as possible. Remember, you're here to rate the team, not rebuild it. ik i late ]]: As for my own comment idk much about NU so maybe a mix of jelly and emvee suggestions might help I'm not sure.
