Kenny and Ryu woke up when they heard James speak, and then Kenny noticed the Druddigon. Kenny then responded to James.

"Oh. I didn't even realize that there was a Druddigon next to Zorro, James. There's a large group of Druddigon nearby, though. I've been keeping a respectful distance from them."

Shun flickered into Shiro's shadow, popping up behind him before the Dark Pulse could hit her. Shiro screamed as the orb exploded in front of them, making him lose balance and fall down. "Shun, we gotta do something!" He shouted as he got up. "Try using Confuse Ray and then continue firing off more Thunder Waves!"

Shiro took a stand in front of Henry, apparently planning to use his body as a shield for him. "See, I can be useful too!" He winked to his roommate over his shoulder before turining to face the Hydreigon again. He knew the waves probably wouldn't work, but he had to keep a distance between the dragon and Shun. He couldn't have Shun trying to attack the Hydreigon from up close with her telekinetic punches. That would put her at a much greater risk.

Shiro bit his lip and whispered to Shun. "Shun... be careful..." She winked back at him. Her horn had already started glowing a deep shade of purple by then. She let out a cry before shooting a few shining orbs at the dragon along with the weak eletrical impulses.

From a couple minutes of following Jacob, they ended up finding Kenny by a group of Druddigon. After having been woken up by... well, Robert seemed to have missed wherever that guy had followed them from, but that wasn't really the point. "Well, we didn't really expect to find you, but eh, the more the merrier."

Jacob kept following the path, occasionally having to move a branch out of his way but proceeding otherwise undisturbed. If I can just complete this mission, I'll be on Devin's good side. Then Teo will be able to benefit from his experience, he thought to himself, trying to keep his mind off the girl behind him. But she's my friend, some part of him said, trying to wedge its way past the emotional block he had put up. That same thought was what made the whole instance so horrible. I don't want there to be this incredible awkwardness, but... But what? he began to question. She deserves a chance to explain herself. Finally, his better nature won out. He stopped walking suddenly and turned around, taking a deep breath.

"We never got to finish that conversation earlier," he said quietly. "I think I'm ready now."

((You're doing fine, Chimchain.))

"Here..." Mareek said as he walked over to the pond's edge and held his hand out for Collin. "But if you fall in again after this, don't expect much help from me that time around..." it was obvious he was more annoyed than anything else right now. That's honestly all he could think of this other boy as right now; an annoying clutz... he hadn't seen much evidence to suggest he was anything else.

The bus ride was silent, the two sat there as one listened to music and the other not. 'Well, seems like this guy isn't much in the way of talking.' Slade said in his mind trying to find out a way to make conversation. 'Maybe since he was the first one there he could tell me why Jacob was acting weird.' He then went to Ryan who was still listening to music and tapped him on the shoulder to grab his attention and maybe they could be friends as an added plus.

Danielle nodded and ran up so that she and Jacob were walking side by side. She could hear her heart racing from her nerves, just like how she refused other boys back at home, but this instance was worse. Danielle then felt a slight nudge from Avis' wing on the side of her face as encouragement; there is no turning back, the sooner this is explained, the better this will be for the both of them. The coordinator took a deep breath, steadying her thoughts and mind. "What I said back there still stands. I am truly, terribly sorry for the pain I must have put you through. You are my best friend, you helped me get over my fears, you helped me improve my battling skills, and so much more... But I still see you as a friend and nothing more. You are probably wondering "why him?", which is very reasonable. The problem is... I don't know. Like you... And probably everyone else that noticed, I have been asking myself that too. It totally makes no sense." Danielle sighed despondently. She was also playing around with those glove straps, as she unconsciously does whenever she is nervous. "I know you are much smarter than he will probably ever be, more hard-working than his happy-go-luck self, more perceptive and kind and everything, but I still feel... happier when I am with him. Everything seems okay when he's there... I felt like I was Avis flying in the sky (at that the Murkrow gave her a strange look)... Okay, maybe not Avis, but... I was on cloud nine, you know? Well, of course you do... That was probably how you felt when you're with me," Danielle paused, looking at Jacob straight into his eyes. She bit her lip, fighting back the tears as she delivered the final blow. "I'm really touched by your feelings towards me, but I always saw you as a friend... And we always will be, no matter what path we will choose in the future. I-I'm sorry, Jacob. Forgive m-me." She finally broke down and cried softly behind her hands.

"Hey, I was wondering what you and Jacob were talking about. I want to know what made him act the way he did, though you don't have to answer it if you don't want to." Slade said hoping he would answer. He never really did talk to Jacob after the incident so he never why he acted like that.

He doesn't even know. Really? "Well, I really don't know if I should be the one to tell you, but Jacob has some pretty intense feelings for Danielle, and she really isn't reciprocating cause she's fallen for... someone else." Ryan felt a pang of regret. Should I have really said that? It's not my place to is it?

"Really, Jacob had an interest in Danielle I never noticed." Slade said finally realizing why Jacob acted that way, "Man, and she has a crush on someone else, Jacob must feel terrible. I wonder who it could be, is it just based on looks or something more deep. Eh, oh well none of my business," Slade said leaning back in his chair, hands behind his head. "I guess this is what she meant by saying this was only something she could handle. Besides, It'll only make things worse if I join. I'll only do it if their friendship is on the line, don't want our trio to break so easily now would we. Don't worry I won't mention anything about you telling me what happened, I won't mention it at all for anyone. This is our little secret ok?" Slade asked with a smile and a little chuckle.

God it's almost as if he already knows it's him. No point in creating any tension or I might give something away. "Haha yeah. I was actually the one who made him go up and talk to her in the first place when he was staring her up on Day 2. Feel bad now cause I threw him to a heartbreaker in a way." Ryan stared out the window. Everything's been so damn crazy all the sudden.

"Really," Slade said surprised, "So, in a way you kinda made me Danielle and Jacob become friends. You shouldn't blame yourself, if anything our friendship wouldn't have happened if it wasn't for you. So I thank you for helping me and the group become friends." He said with a big smile. He could believe that if it wasn't for this one guy he would have no friends at the school.

Jacob watched as Danielle began to cry, willing himself to stay rooted where he was. He wanted to comfort her, to tell her everything was going to be okay, but try as he might he was unable to. Her words echoed as hammer blows on the lid of a coffin. It felt odd. There was no sense of loss, no sense of pain. Everything simply was. He had expected the stinging pain of rejection and the crying afterward, but there was nothing. Jacob took a deep breath, his mouth feeling stuffed with cotton. What was that he was feeling? It's like... it's just like there's a big space in my chest, he thought to himself, confused at his own reaction. Teo looked up at his Trainer, equally surprised.

The only thing that managed to snap the Trainer out of his trance was the sound of Danielle softly sobbing into her hands in front of him. All Jacob could do was shake his head as he closed his eyes. When he opened them, they seemed to be staring far off into space. "Let's go find Devin's Salamence," he said quietly. "Then we can go back to the Academy."

"J-Jacob?" Danielle began through her tears. When she looked into Jacob's eyes, however, she only saw... emptiness; the fire that she once knew was gone. She quickly lowered her eyes back into her hands to wipe her tears. The heartbreaker sighed heavily into her hands before she dared herself to look back at her best friend. "Y-Yes, l-let's go. Professor Cadmus is counting us to find S-Salamence as soon as possible," she finally answered. Without another word, she began walking silently; eventually she fell a few steps behind to consult her Murkrow.

"Avis," Danielle asked hesitantly, "Was that the right thing to do? I'm afraid I broke him... And whatever we had..." Her black bird didn't respond at first as she stared into Jacob's back. Like Teo and Jacob, she was also surprised at his reaction to the rejection. Danielle's past admirers would either pretend to brush it off (and be sad and cry about it for a week or two), demand an explanation from her master or persuade her to give him a chance. Avis has not seen anybody retreating into his own world like Jacob is doing now. A stroke from Danielle's finger jolted Avis back from her thoughts. As she looked at her master's worried expression, it brought back memories of the hospital bed after falling for the elders' dirty trick. 10 year old Danielle had that same look of fear and concern whenever Avis tried to move around. Avis would always try to make Danielle laugh and smile so that she wouldn't worry so much. Since that worked before, Avis gave a soft "Murkrow" and gave brushed her face with her wing. She ended with a nudge with her head before trying to snuggle underneath her head.

Seeing Avis' support made Danielle smile just a little. "You're right. Everyone has a different way of handling rejection; Jacob's happens to be locking up. We just have to give him some time and space to heal. And if I know Jacob, he will be okay, I know he will."

Soon after they began walking again, Jacob halted and put his hand up as he heard loud footsteps ahead. He carefully pushed a few branches aside and looked through the thick brush, spotting another student in the middle of a group of Druddigon. I shouldn't be too concerned. They're Devin's, after all. Let's just skirt around them, he thought to himself as he lead the way quietly, beckoning for Danielle to follow as he made his way around the Druddigon group.

Danielle stopped beside Jacob and Teo quietly to see what is happening. Her eyes widen as she saw what appears to be a little family of Druddigon that seemed to be playing with a guy and his Pokemon. "Hey, isn't that Kenny and Zorro?" she asked to no one in particular. Avis crowed a confirmation and flew off to join them. "Avis, wait up!" Danielle called after her Murkrow. "I guess it's safe to go since Kenny is around... Jacob, let's go. Maybe he also knows where Salamence is." She waited for him to respond before she headed off on her own.

"You're better then me I'll tell you that much," Slade said chuckling, "All I did during the quote on quote Haxorus attack was be oblivious to the whole thing while I listened to music on max volume." He said as he scratched the back of his head. 'Man this guy is more fun then he makes himself out to be' Slade thought to himself.

Jacob stopped in his tracks, then turned toward Danielle and nodded, avoiding eye contact with her. He pointed in Kenny's direction, waiting for Danielle to lead the way into the confrontation.

"It was better that way I have to say. If only I had done the same thing too, we wouldn't be stuck in this situation." Ryan sighed. Without his consent, Glacien popped out of his pokeball and sat on Ryan's lap, giving him a concerned but slightly comforting look.

Salamence Hunters (K_H, Jory, DarkLight, TurboAura, Azery)

((Kenny knows where Salamence is. It’s still on the same place he ran into it))

Commander and Bfroger

Evan got up and saw Shiro repeating the same mistake. “Hey, idiot, stop attacking it!” he yelled in an attempt to stop Shiro and Shun. He was too late. The Hydreigon had enough of Shun’s annoying attacks and started to gather light energy. For a small moment all the heads were covered behind a silver light (Flash Cannon) before it fired the attack and hit Shun head on, knocking the Ralts out. It then turned its attention to the responsible trainer and growled in anger.

Elf and Murdoc

The biggest Tyrunt (with Claude) ran after the ball and repeated the same motion over and over, like he wanted Claude to pick up the ball, but before he could move Kage was dragged by the smaller Tyrunt out of the woods. The small one joined his brother and stared at both students in an excited way.

((They want to play a hunting game Devin taught them. Pass the ball around by either kicking or throwing and try to keep it away from the Tyrunt’s))

Stratos

Colin thanked Mareek for his help while still having that grin on his face. Both his Pokémon were in the pond yelping and laughing at him. He felt a little embarrassed since every time he didn’t watch out and looked like a wrecking ball; Mareek seemed to be near. “So, did you already decide what you want to catch?” he asked in an attempt to change the subject.

EXLink and Tacos

The bus stopped at the Academy and the driver let them out after helping Ryan. He gave a nod, wished them good luck, and left again for Devin’s home.

Now all they had to do was find Professor Redwood or one of his assistants.

((The Pokémon Healing facility is on the 4th floor and his Lab on the 7th. That's where you can find him.))

Slade looked confused at Ryan's remark, "You do know there's an elevator in the building right?" Slade asked, "It's over there." He says as he points to the elevator. "Come on, we're almost there. Just gotta press two buttons then wait." Slade say to try to cheer him up. They head into the elevator and press the button that leads to floor 7. As it dings open they head straight for the lab.
