Meanwhile in Valley City

“Miss Welsh, may I disturb you?” a polite young man asked. He had freckles on his face and short red hair and appeared to be in his early twenties. The young man was ambitious and hoped to have his own successful company someday just like Miss Welsh.

“What now, Rodrick? I’m busy!” Miss Welsh snapped.

The young didn’t flinch. He was used to Miss Welsh by now. After all this was his second year as her assistant. In the beginning people warned him about the Ice Queen and that she was relentless and a rotten personality. Rodrick always answered he could handle it and she couldn’t be that bad. He was wrong. When he first started as her assistant he feared her. During the years fear turned into hatred and soon he despised her. “It’s about the Academy,” he said, still keeping his polite tone.

Miss Welsh looked up immediately. She wanted very interested in the Academy and what it could mean or her business. Unfortunately Professor Redwood was too popular and people supported him. She considered him a buffoon with no business talent. “Don’t just stand there! Spill it out!”

“A boy just broke his ankle in Devin’s garden. The exact cause isn’t know, but apparently one of the Dragons spooked him.”

Miss Welsh sprung up. “Call every board member! We’re going to have an emergency meeting tomorrow at the school!” she instructed Rodrick. he sat down again and mumbled to herself“Finally an opportunity arises. This is my chance to stop those ridiculous ‘school trips’. It’s just a waste of money…” Rodrick, who was still in the room, shuffled with his feet and drew her attention again. “What are you still doing here? Time is money so get to it!”

“Yes, Miss Welsh!” the boy replied before leaving her office.

Upon hearing Raiza calling for a Lucifer, Danielle found herself near a girl with a Litwick floating by. The coordinator chuckled as she stared at the Dragonite and Murkrow, although the girl seemed to be more interested in Avis than the dragon. Sensing the newcomer's interest, Danielle thought that she might as well meet her acquaintance. "Bonjour, mademoiselle and fellow Litwick and Sneasel~ It's quite an amusing sight, isn't it? Although I do like for this to continue, it's coming to an end. If I know my Murkrow as well as I should, she's getting tired and will start to blunder very soon."

Not long after Danielle spoke those words, Avis began flying lower and lower to the ground while keeping her gaze onto Dragonite. Her talons were outstretched to prepare for a landing. While this could be considered a good move on her part, there is one flaw that most birds have: Avis was not used to landing on a spot without looking at it first. As a result, her talons slipped on a small rock that was beneath her. Avis, instinctually, tore her gaze off of the Dragonite to look below and flapped to land beside the said rock. Once she landed, Avis looked back at the huge dragon and gasped. She lost! Avis gave a disappointed sigh, if only she landed on something that was not a rock. Oh well, you win some, you lost some; Avis isn't going to be a sore loser about it. The Murkrow crowed her appreciation for a fun game.

"And right on cue~" Danielle laughed before heading out to fetch her curious Murkrow. "Thanks for the fun match, Dragonite, she really liked it!" With that, Danielle offered an Oran Berry to the dragon before turning to the girl. "Come on, don't you want to meet this dragon?"

Jacob beamed at Professor Cadmus's praise of Teo. "Wow! Thanks, Professor! I'll be sure to keep training hard with him!" he gushed excitedly, unable to prevent words from tumbling out. "Sometimes when we train I like to focus mostly on Speed because I figure no other Dragon can match a Flygon in quickness! Teo's attack power is really coming along, but I'll make sure we keep what you said in mind. Teo really wants to evolve, isn't that right buddy?" he said, smiling at the Trapinch. He then looked back up at Professor Cadmus. "Once he becomes a Vibrava, we'll be able to work in more combination attacks like Dragonbreath and even Bug Buzz! That way Sand Tomb won't be the only way we can take down targets from range," he continued. He then blushed quickly, remembering himself. "Sorry to ramble. You're one of the Trainers that I've always worked hard to be like and to have you teaching me is a huge honor!"

While Raiza barely nodded in response to being addressed, Lucifer turned and looked intently at this other human girl, as if wanting something, maybe some sort of food, from her. Sneasel, on the other hand, had only glanced at the staring contest before waving it off as though it bored her.

So the Murkrow had lost after all as Raiza'd expected; it could've only stayed airborne for so long. "Kudos to your Murkrow for effort, though," she remarked, after realizing that she'd been next to this girl-- popular girl, she'd heard, though Raiza never did have a head for names or a nose to bury in gossip-- the whole time. Raiza approached the Dragonite right after the pretty girl did, slowly raising her hand as though to pet him-- hey, if it worked in movies, surely it couldn't be any different with friendly/non-hostile dragons, right?

DarkLight and Zephyr

Dragonite was quick to grab the berry and eat it. If only every challenger was like this… He didn’t pay much attention to the conversation between the girls, but his eye fell on the Litwick. It had the same presence as the one that was watching earlier. He gave it a little stare before the new human approached him carefully. He tilted his head a little to question why the girl slowly raised her hand. It’s not like he intended to bite it off. If she wanted to touch him she could just say so. The friendly dragon gave a snort and decided to mess with this one. He made a small jump, placing himself right in front of Raiza, and started to pet her instead.

Jory and Murdoc

Devin nodded in appreciation of Kage’s efforts and decided to ask the boy later about his eyes. If he didn’t tell any of the teachers changes were high that he didn’t tell his fellow students either or had a really good reason to hide it.

He turned his attention back to Jacob. “I’m flattered you consider me a role model, but be sure to develop your own style. Many students your age make the mistake in trying to copy someone they look up to. And training Teo’s speed certainly is a great option. As far as Dragonbreath and Bug Buzz go, think back about what I said earlier. Focus on the strong points. Is Teo good at attacking from a distance, from up close or isn’t there any difference? That’s all decided by your Pokémon’s nature and personality. It’s something every trainer should consider.”

The dragon was... petting... her.

Wait.

It was petting her.

"I like this. I really, really like this, pon," Raiza muttered to no one in particular, barely able to keep a straight face out of glee. In all honesty she didn't really care if anybody else would find it weird that she was enjoying being petted by Dragonite. Come on though, a Dragonite with spunk-- no, wait, an adorable Pokemon of legend was essentially petting her.

Best day ever.

The Litwick watched the big Pokemon... pet... his Trainer. He knew Raiza well enough to understand how much of a "super awesome breathtaking moment", as she might've put it, this was for her, but... Sometimes she was just weird. Well, that, and Raiza's his human, so. Yes. It was one of the rare times that his focus was shifted away from devouring people's (and maybe Pokemon's) souls to his demanding to be Raiza's favorite. Needless to say, he was miffed; annoyed, he looked at the Dragonite, then began poking Raiza with a little stubby... stub in an attempt to get her attention.

Danielle admired the dragon as he quickly snatched the Oran berry from her hand. His fun-loving personality definitely left a good impression on her. When the Dragonite went over to pet the girl, Danielle giggled in amusement. "I guess what Professor Cadmus said is true: You really are a tease~" she commented lightly. Even Avis, who was preening her feathers on Danielle's shoulder, couldn't resist a cry or two at the sight.

Jacob nodded, making sure to remember everything Professor Cadmus was telling him. Wow! He's so knowledgeable! he thought to himself, continually impressed by the Dragon master. Maybe he'll have an idea for another Pokemon for my team! "Professor, I was wondering if there were any types in particular I should consider for my team. We seem to have Rock, Fire, Steel, Electric, and Dragons on the run, but we're pretty weak to Ice- and Grass-types." Jacob thought for a moment, snapping his fingers as he realized something. "Maybe I should get a Fire-type! They're good ranged fighters, and strong from an early stage to boot!" he said excitedly, awaiting input from Devin.

During his conversation with Jacob, Devin kept an eye out on Kage. The boy didn’t react to his nod earlier which confirmed his suspicion. He didn’t say anything and turned back to Jacob who asked teambuilding advice.

“There are two possible solutions for your question, Jacob,” Devin said. “The first way is the offensive way and the one you just suggested. Basically you figure out how to deal with your weaknesses by thinking ‘what is super effective against my weaknesses’. In this case that would be a fire type. The second way is to concentrate on defense. If you struggle against grass and ice you can always go for a type that resists. Steel for example would also be a decent pick.” He thought for a moment. “Eventually it’s up to you, but on the upcoming trip we’ll find more Steel types then Fire types. In the forest it’s about even, but you’ll have more choice of fire types there. Unless of course you already have a Pokémon in mind that can be found in the mountains,” he said with a small smile.

He took a quick look on his watch. “Time sure flies. We have to go back since I need to do some last preparations. I’ll go collect the students.”

With that said he took off and managed to get everyone on the bus. After a 15 minute bus drive the students arrived back at the Academy. Devin waited until everyone got out while doing a headcount, before leaving for Redwood’s lab.

Once Kage got off the bus, he milled about for a bit, trying to find someone. When he was unable to, Kage made his way over to someone else he knew through the slowly dispersing knot of students leaving the bus. "Hey, Jacob. Have you seen Ryan?"

The door to Ryan's dorm slowly opened, as Ryan hobbled out, the metal crutches digging into his armpits. Ryan extended the secondary legs, propelling himself towards the elevator. When he got to the ground floor, it took Ryan about five minutes of struggling to finally push open the door, and step outside. The cool air swept past his face, and he took a deep breath, propelling himself forward again. After a few minutes, Ryan reached the outdoor battlefields and tossed out his pokemon. "Glacien, Feroces. I want to try something out with you right now. Glacien water pulse down the ground, make a path of water to that tree. Then flash freeze it with powder snow, nut only after Feroces uses charge on it." With that, Glacien laid a cold path of water across the ground and Feroces had charged it with electricity. Then, Glacien froze the water. Ryan glanced at the tree to see if his theory had been correct. The ice surrounding the tree had sparks coming off of it. "Yes! It worked! We can use this strategy in our battles guys! Great job!" Ryan paused as he saw the bus pull in, and students pouring out of the door.

Slade was laying under the shade of a tree listening to his headphones once again. Seeing as how Ryan was able to move without help again they went their own ways. As Slade was laying there the bus pulled over really close to him, but he didn't notice it. If he couldn't a notice battle between Haxorus then he probably notice a bus parking a couple yards ahead of him. Even as the kids walked out of the bus, with all their talking he still didn't notice. He just sat there ignoring everyone who walked his way as he seeped into his music.

Shiro picked up his backpack and scooted out of the bus with a group of other students. He had to go take Shun to a nurse since he just could not get the Revive to work.

The visit to the nurse's office was quick and Shun was revitalised in a matter of minutes. Apparently, the blast didn't harm her in any way out of the ordinary, and she was ready to go.

Raiza skipped off out of the bus with a slight smile on her normally bored face. Today was a good day. Sneasel and Lucifer'd got some training in, she got to interact with tons of dragons, and most of all she was "tamed" by a dragon. Never before had she felt more loved (okay, there was that time when she had Movie Night with her parents, but this is totally different), and it made her giddy. Hovering by his blissful Trainer, Lucifer pouted; he hadn't had one soul to eat or even nibble on and it looked like another Pokemon had stolen Raiza's heart. Ah, well... She should get over it soon... eventually... in a week... ugh.

Danielle remained, for the most part, silent on the bus ride back to the academy. She was lost in thought as the trees zoomed by her field of vision, reminiscing on the events that took place today. Confession, Haxorus, rejection, Hydreigon, Dragonite are topics that swirled in her head before the bus passed by the main building. Danielle's mind then wandered to what could be inside the lab, the one place she didn't go to yet; she did recall that it was open to all students, but she never really felt the urge to go. 'Since I don't have class, I might as well take a look after I visit Ryan.'

As Danielle stepped out onto the school grounds, Danielle attempted to locate either Ryan or Slade. Avis decided to take the liberty of hop/walking to a particular direction, although Danielle couldn't find Ryan there. However, a crystallized blue tree did catch her attention and, lo and behold, Ryan was there with Glacien and Feroces. "Jacob and other guy," she addressed the duo while pointing to the tree, "Ryan seems to be over there." She began walking over to go check up on him before leaving for the lab.

--------

While Danielle took care of the greetings, Avis had her eye out on Slade who is lost in his music again. Once she reached his side, Avis tilted her head this way and that, curious about how the music could be heard like that. The Murkrow traced the music from the headphones down to a wire to... Something in his pocket. With curiosity getting the best of her (and it was a way to get Slade's attention), Avis pulled on the headphones' wire with her beak, only to unplug it from the music player. Avis then examined the jack that is lying on the grass.

Ryan's gaze wandered to a girl walking in his general direction, detaching herself from the group after mentioning something to Kage and Jacob and pointing to Ryan. It took him a second, but Ryan finally realized it was Danielle and gave a goofy grin. Ryan swung from his crutches, pulling himself towards Danielle. "So, everyone's back alive it looks like." Ryan gave a small chuckle. "So what happened after my totally heroic exit." Ryan leaned forward and accidentally fell flat on his face, just like when he had first met Danielle. Ryan groaned and began pushing himself up off the ground, placing his injured foot over the other to reduce the pain.

"These people," Henry griped walking off the bus. "The bloody idiots are going to kill me some day." Henry walked off towards a rock and sat down. "May as well learn to get along with them. Might need to use them as a meat shield one of these days. I'm just glad to be living another day." Gypsy gave him a funny look and Henry tossed her an Oran Berry from his backpack. "It's something I learned in Orre. Trust no one and use everyone to your advantage."

"I do have a name, if you cared to ask," he responded to Danielle as he moved in the direction his Pokemon told him she pointed. He heard Ryan say something to her and promptly take a tumble as usual. He ran over to him and helped him back to his feet, sensing the injury from various clues. "Your knight in shining armor returns," he playfully quipped as he lifted Ryan. "So, what'd you manage to do to your leg?"

Wasting no time to be comfortable while doing nothing, Raiza had made her way to her room to grab her violin and bottled milk tea before heading for the rooftop of the main building. It was her private roost-- nobody else ever came up here, she felt like she dominated the world (not that it was her thing, but that's what most people would describe the feeling to be), she could see almost everything... Sliding down and sitting with her back to the rails, she set down the violin case and opened it, revealing the blue instrument. "Hello there, Panini," she said under her breath, holding the violin in her hands, plucking the strings lightly to ensure that they were still tuned.

That violin, he couldn't really understand how it worked. Lucifer peered at it curiously-- how hollow it looked! It seemed like nothing was inside it, so... how did it make a sound? Sneasel sat down by her Trainer and grinned at the sight of the violin. Raiza explained that the delicate thing had been carved out of wood, which had always intrigued the Dark-Ice type and made her look down at her razor-like claws in wonder. How the heck did that even work? Wouldn't the humans' claws destroy it instead?

Sissy was sleeping during the whole bus ride. Her Misdreavus came out only to wake up here ,once they reached the academy, and hid herself again.

"Oh, we arrived? That was surely a good nap. Thank you Miss for the waking up alarm." She yawned getting off the bus.

She walked some meters away from the bus when she heard the word meat coming out from a nearby tree. She turned around only to see a boy sitting down at that tree. Not him again. She thought, realizing that the one sitting there was Henry.

"Meat doesn't do good to health. Try vegetables, they have more vitamins." She wispered, passing over where Henry was sitting.

After Kage lifted Ryan to his one functioning, 2 artificial, and one useless legs, he feel back into Kage, giving himself an excuse for a hug and a small kiss. "Well ya see, I was just laying down in the forest and these two Haxorus come up, and completely scare the shit out of me. So I was having a heart attack just trying to get out of there, and while doing so, I slipped in the mud and my ankle broke. But my lady in shining armor and her hopeless romantic were there to save me. Turns out though, they were just playing a joke and the whole situation could have been avoided if I hadn't freaked out so much." Ryan shrugged. "So maybe you both could tell me what exciting things happened after I had to leave?"

Slade opened his eyes as his music suddenly stopped. He went to go check his MP3 when he saw the audio jack unplugged and a certain bird standing next to him. "Avis I was listening to that," he said looking at the black bird. Then he realized it was Avis so Danielle and the others must be back. "Hey, Avis is Danielle here, if so can you lead me to her?" He asked the bird by his side.

Kage returned the hug warmly before replying, still holding Ryan up. "Oh, where do I start? I kind of wandered around in he woods for a while, then I bumped into Claude. A Tyrantrum showed up -she was badass- with her two babies, and we played for a bit. Well, I played. Claude ran around in terror." With a barely noticeable tone of irritation, he added, "He tried to play catch with me. It didn't work. Anyway, though, the real excitement was the Hydreigon. I think Danielle know more than I do about that, though. I showed up just before the whole thing ended."

Kenny and his Team, which now included the Eevee, headed up to their Dorm Room, and Kenny got a Premier Ball from his Bag once they arrived. The four of them then headed down to the Training Building, Kenny and Ryu heading to one end, the Eevee heading to the other end, and Zorro heading to one side as the Referee. Zorro then spoke to Ryu and the Eevee.

"Rua?"

"Ri!"

"Vui!"

After getting confirmation that they were Ready, Zorro Initiated the Battle.

"Begin!"
Kenny Quickly barked a command to Ryu.

"Ryu, Counter."

Ryu acknowledged Kenny, then started glowing. the Eevee then rammed into Ryu, only to take four times the Damage she dealt. (the Tackle's Damage was multiplied x2 from Counter's Effect, and then x2 again from Typing Advantage.) This caused the Eevee to almost collapse, and Kenny threw the Premier Ball, successfully Catching the Eevee. Kenny then called out the Eevee, and gave it four Sitrus Berries, fully replenishing its' HP. Kenny then spoke to it, having decided on a Name.

"What do you think of 'Eve' as a nickname?"

The Eevee nuzzled her head against Kenny in appreciation. Kenny then responded happily.

"All right, Eve it is!"

Kenny then spoke to Ryu.

"Ryu, could you pl- Whoa."

Kenny cut himself off when he saw Ryu start to glow a brilliant White and then change shape. When Ryu finished Changing, the glow faded. Kenny looked on in awe as this happened. Once the Glow completely faded, Kenny spoke, awestruck.

"Ryu, you just Evolved... Wow! Let's find Robert!"

Ryu then knelt down, and used his Aura to search for Robert. once Ryu found Robert, he stood up.

"Cario ri."

The four of them then headed off towards Robert.
