Pokémon Academy: Ch 2a: Dragons [IC]

A flash came out from the camera, with a cry following from the Swellow. "No, don't use it. You may break it and my photo will be gone." Sissy could realize that the Swellow had no intention of returning it back and tried to figure out how she will get it back. A battle? Cotton is too unexperienced in battles. Sherlock might never win. It comes up on either Miss or Miffy. "I got it." She said and searched her bag for her pokedex. "Hey, do you want this too? Look how shiny it is!" She waved her hand, holding the pokedex. Once she drew the Swellow's attention, she started running, hoping that the bird pokemon will follow her.

"Miss, once the Swellow reaches us, use your Mean Look attack on her." Sissy wispered on her pokemon, hoping that her plan could work.

As they arrived at the forest, he shot small glances towards Sofia, trying to be as inconspicuous as possible, his faces hidden by his favorite red and black hoodie to hide his expression. As they stopped to discuss the reasoning as to why they were there, Ryan stood and listened patiently not saying a word. Earlier had caused him to realize that keeping his mouth shut didn't hurt anybody. He kept his head down as he grabbed a camera and sauntered off towards one of the caves. However, Ryan wasn't interested in what was inside, instead he sat outside the entrance. He pulled out the golden Kingdra trophy from earlier that day. How can I make something that will impress them? Maybe something to mimic this trophy? Ryan turned the trophy over and over, studying it, as it glimmered in the sunlight leaking through the trees.

Meanwhile at the Academy

“I declare this meeting started!” Miss Welsh announced as soon as she entered the conference room. She completely ignored Nathalie Blake, also known as Redwood’s secretary, who just brought some tea and coffee.

“Thank you, Nathalie,” Jeremy Brand said. He entered the room after Miss Welsh with Redwood walking behind him. “We got it from here,” he said with a wink. Nathalie smiled and twirled her hair before leaving.

Miss Welsh sighed. “Enough with the flirting, Brand! We have serious business to attend too! If you don’t get your act together we’ll do this without you!”

“But if I did that who would be the voice of reason? I’m sure you wouldn’t since you smelled money. Or is there a very, very small chance you actually are concerned about the health of that student?” Brand asked as he took a seat and placed it on the other side of the table so he faced Miss Welsh. It was his favorite method of pissing her off.

Miss Welsh ignored his little outburst. “Are you taking notes, Miss Smith?” she asked to the lady at her left.

“Y-yes! I’m on it!” she replied. Miss Smith, a friendly old woman, felt intimidated by Carolina Welsh and everyone on the board knew it. That was also the reason why she was the one to take notes. It always came in handy if Miss Welsh came out looking positive on paper.

“Excellent! Now let’s get started, shall we? The reason I called you all here i-“ Miss Welsh was cut off.

“- is because you want Craig’s spot. You smelled money when you saw a student broke his ankle –“ now it was Brand’s turn to be cut off.

“How dare you? I’m generally concerned about the safety of our students!” Miss Welsh smacked the table with the palm of her hand. “This is exactly what I’ve been warning for all this time! Dragons are simply too violent! It’s not safe for our first years to take a trip into the Hills just to meet a bunch of aggressive Pokémon!”

Brand jumped up and his seat fell on the ground. “Yeah right! It’s people like you, who know nothing about Pokémon and only care about themselves, that give them a bad reputation. Cut the bullshit, Carolina, you’ve always been against this trip because it takes a chunk out of the budget! I quote you directly from last time you brought this up,” he cleared his throat and made the most ridiculous squeaky voice he could muster, “’the trip to the Hills costs too much. If we cancel that trip we can save a lot of money and put it onto the Academy’s bank account. That way we have a little extra just in case something unexpected happens and we have to invest in new equipment’. And let me add the true meaning to that quote; ‘I want to fill my own pockets so I want the Academy to buy my products’ and you would probably add something like this; ‘it’s all for the benefit of the students’ who you don’t give a damn about!”

Miss Welsh heard enough. “You are the selfish one here! We all know you only have that seat because you and Redwood are childhood friends. That’s the only reason he’s buying your second-rate equipment!”

Brand wanted to reply, but didn’t get the chance. Redwood cleared his throat and drew all attention to him. He was about the only one who could stop Welsh and Brand when they were insulting each other under the disguise of a ‘conversation’. “Enough! Let’s get back on topic. We came here because a student broke his ankle in Devin’s garden. We all know his group of Haxorus likes to spook students. They behave like the real ones in the wild when it comes to territory. One of the students was caught off guard and tried to run when he slipped on broke his ankle. This was no more than an unfortunate accident. The first one in many years under Devin’s guidance; just in case someone forgot that little fact.”

“That says more about Devin then about those dragons. You said yourself the ones in his garden are harmless. Considering the accident happened because of a so called harmless dragon, is even more to worry about. What if that happened in the Hills? That place isn’t safe for first years or any student for that matter!” Miss Welsh stubbornly added.

“Ah, here we go! The real reason we’re here,” Brand remarked. He was about to go further into the discussion and so was Miss Welsh, but Redwood raised his hands to stop them from talking.

“The trip to the Hills is necessary because a harmless dragon raised by an expert is completely different from a wild one. Right now they are learning how to handle themselves if they ever cross dragon territory. And if you insist on going on about it,” he said raising his hand again to stop Miss Welsh from interrupting him, “keep in mind that since the first students graduated from this Academy, none of them caused a major incident with dragons or any other type. The only case where a dragon still goes on a rampage is when they are trained by the older generation that’s too stubborn to change their ways. You can find all these facts in police reports. And if that’s not enough just take a look at the Ymora League. All those trainers are far more capable at handling themselves and their Pokémon because they learned about them from year one. Dragons aren’t so dangerous as everyone thinks but they are more difficult to handle and proud creatures. That’s why it’s still necessary to see how they are in the wild, learn about it, and if they catch one to raise it up from the first evolution.” Redwood ceased his case and waited patiently. He knew it was inevitable that Miss Welsh had something to say about it.

The business woman was thinking to find a way to keep discussing, but didn’t immediately find anything. She looked over to the rest of the board members but most of them were nodding in agreement with Redwood. Brand on the other hand was just smiling arrogantly while staring straight at her. “And still accidents happen every time they go to the Hills!” she stubbornly insisted.

“That only shows they need this trip. They are inexperienced and need to learn firsthand about what’s safe and what isn’t. And all those little accidents were immediately solved by Devin or one of the other adults.”

“This time he didn’t solve it on time! Devin may not be as reliable as you think! He couldn’t even control his own Pokémon! He may be too old or just not the right man for this job! He doesn’t even have a degree in teaching!” Miss Welsh snapped.

That was a big mistake on her part. Redwood didn’t care if she attacked him or called him unsuited for the job, but it was a complete different story when she did the same thing to one of his staff members. “Do NOT say something like that again!” he raised his voice. He sounded intimidating and almost reached Devin’s level. “Students safety and future are our biggest priorities! This includes for me and every staff member. All of them qualify and are capable. I don’t care about a little paper that says if they are suited to teach or not. I look at the person they are, their knowledge and how they handle students. Those parameters are far more valuable than anything else! If a member of the Elite Four, who shows great results as a teacher as well, can’t be trusted to teach students about safety around dragons and help them with their future training career, who can? Not everything is about money! We started this meeting to see if we had to change something about our dragon policy and the trip to the Hills so it’s about time we vote. Who is in favor of keeping the system?”

Redwood raised his own hand as did 8 others. Miss Smith wanted to, but after a threatening look from Miss Welsh she kept her hand down.

“9 to 2, I call that majority rule!” Brand said with a big smile. He loved it when Carolina’s plans backfired. “And let it be noted that the second vote against was out of fear!” He ran over to Redwood and placed his arm around his old friend’s shoulder. “Come, Craig, I’ve something else to discuss. That secretary of yours looks way too stressed. Have you ever considered giving her some time off? As it happens I have a flexible schedule…” he opened the door and continued the discussion.

Redwood just shook his head and chuckled. Jeremy Brand hadn’t changed a bit.

Jacob nodded at Devin's wisdom, smiling broadly at the Elite Four member. "Sorry I interrupted, but I wanted to make sure I had time to do something." Upon hearing his match was to be challenging, he smiled even more. His eyes lit up and he had to fight to contain a squeal of excitement. "Thanks, Professor Cadmus! For everything!" he said excitedly as he turned and walked back toward the group of Bagon. Once he reached them, he carefully looked them over. He made sure to take into account size, strength, and even gender. If that little lizard thinks he's playing hardball because he doesn't like losing, wait until he sees what I have in store for him, he thought to himself.

The Trainer sighed in relief. It had taken him the better part of ten minutes, but he had finally found the perfect Bagon. He chuckled as the inquisitive Dragon-type ate Poke Blocks out of his hand, then winced and lifted his shirt. The skin over his abs was beginning to turn purple in a circle the size of the Bagon's head. "Hey, girl," he said softly. The Bagon looked up and cocked its head, still chewing on a Poke Block. "Want to battle my Charmander?" The small Dragon flapped her arms excitedly, letting out a happy cry. Jacob nodded and pressed the release button on Spitfyre and Teo's balls. "These are my Pokemon. This here is Teo, my first Pokemon," he said as he pointed to his Trapinch. Jacob turned to Spitfyre and noticed him glaring hatefully at Teo. "And this little guy here is Spitfyre," he said pointedly. "You're going to battle her, Spitfyre."

The Charmander looked up at Jacob with a look of prideful disdain and crossed his arms, refusing to look at the Bagon that was almost half his size. "What, you don't think you can beat her?" he asked. The Charmander snorted derisively and turned toward the Bagon. He finally nodded. The wild Bagon ran over to a group of Bagon led by a Shelgon and waved her arms, talking to them. They all nodded excitedly and spread out, forming a large ovular battlefield. Jacob beckoned to his Pokemon to follow and walked over to the oval. The Dragons parted to let him and his Pokemon through. Spitfyre stepped in front of his Trainer and snorted again, smoke trailing from his nostrils. The Bagon pawed at the dirt with one leg, grinning mischievously.

"Alright, Spitfyre, use Metal Claw!" Jacob shouted. However, Spitfyre stood still. He simply glared across the field at the Bagon. Finally, he cocked his head back, blue flames dripping from his lips as he threw his head forward and fired a powerful Dragon Rage at the Bagon. The small Dragon ran at the ball of flame and, just as she was about to collide with it, jumped over it. She spread her arms like wings, briefly enjoying the feeling of soaring through the air before looking down. Her head began to glow blue and she dove toward the Charmander.

"Dodge, Spitfyre!" Jacob yelled. However, the Charmander's claws began to glow white as he took a defensive stance. When the Bagon finally reached him, he attempted to swing and hit the small Dragon. However, her attack was simply too powerful. She burst through his defense and slammed him directly in the abdomen, sending him sliding backward toward his Trainer. The Fire-type tried to get up but quickly lay back down, beaten and exhausted. The wild Bagon cried out happily and danced around as the other Bagons and Shelgons came in to congratulate her.

Jacob crouched down and scooped Spitfyre up in his arms, chuckling softly. "You really took a beating there, Spitfyre. What the hell happened?" he asked sarcastically. The Charmander looked to the side and snorted, refusing to look his Trainer in the eye. The Trainer forcibly turned Spitfyre's head, looking sternly down at him. "You need to start listening to me. If you want to lose all the time and never get stronger, then just keep doing what you're doing. But if you let me help you, you can be better. We'll become stronger. Together," he said firmly.

The Charmander turned away briefly, then turned back to Jacob. He looked his Trainer in the eyes and nodded. When Jacob looked back into Spitfyre's eyes, he finally saw the fire he had recognized when they first met.

Henry watched all of the slimy dragons surround Danielle one after another. It was rather surprising she was used to something like this. "Err...pardon if this sounds rude, but I thought girls didn't like getting dirt on their skirts and I think they'd flip out having themselves covered in whatever they call this stuff. Can't say I'm too fond of it either." The boy brushed off some of the goo after saying that. "I guess it's just how you grew up I suppose. It's kind of like how I can easily withstand 100 degree weather without really breaking a sweat. We have a lot of tourists complain about the heat in the past. Well...had tourists. Phenac really died down after the colosseum closed and the hostage situation...uhhh...I'll meet back up with you when you're done here." Henry slowly backed away and headed towards a calmer spot. What the bloody hell are you doing, Henry? She's not your friend so stop acting like she is. Er...the sooner I tell the story the better.

A Deino rasped next to them. "Oi. There you are. Are you all right, pon?" She'd turned away a while to watch over Toothless while he explored around and looked in time to see Lana stumbling on Kage. Lucifer peered inquisitively at a few Gible not too far away. Following her Litwick's gaze, Raiza guessed, "I see the little babies were being playful, pon?"

A sudden idea came to Ryan's head. "A wooden carving. Sounds simple enough." Ryan stood up, somewhat invigorated at the thought of it. Ryan scanned the area for a piece of wood that was thick and short enough to be made into a statue. After a good five minutes, Ryan found the wood. It was very dark wood, almost like a very dark mahogany. Ryan held it in his hand, before tossing it onto a stump. He grabbed one of the pokeballs from his waste and released Feroces. The electric cat leapt onto the forest floor, growling with excitement.

"Ha ha. No battles today buddy. We've got a job to do." Ryan pointed to the wood. "I need you to make that look as close to this as possible." Ryan pointed back to the golden statue, shining under the slivers of light peaking through the canopies of the forest.

Feroces jumped on top of the log, gnawing away at the log at incredible speed. His position shifted many times to try and mimic every facet of the statue. After what seemed like forever, Ryan walked over to the masterpiece Feroces had created. Except, it wasn't a masterpiece. The log had no semblance to the statue, and was so poorly done that Ryan couldn't help but laugh. "Maybe we need to try something else buddy."

Murdoc and Zephyr

“U-uhm I d-don’t know,” Lana stumbled. All she tried to do was to start a conversation, but apparently it didn’t make any sense to the boy she was speaking too. “I’m sorry if I said something dumb.” She felt embarrassed and almost whispered the apology.

In the meantime the Gibles lost their second human to play around with. They looked around and their eye fell on a girl playing with another Dragon type. Maybe she wanted to play? They dug their way over and popped up in front of the Deino and Raiza in order to stop them. And then their little game began. “Giiible gible gible gible!”

Tses

The Swellow eyed the Pokédex carefully. It shone brightly in the sun and that was good enough for her. She dropped the camera carefully in the tree so she would find it back later, dived out the tree and pulled up like she did before. The bird could almost grab the Pokédex.

Lucky Elf

“Interesting,” Devin mumbled. He studied Tyrunt’s behavior from up close. “She’s showing territorial behavior. However I’ve never seen a Tyrunt claiming a person as her territory in this particular way… almost like she considers you here possession rather than a trainer like others do.” He walked around the dragon, not wanting to startle it considering Claude was still lying under the claws. “Try to give her a command,” Devin suggested.

Give it a command...? Claude doubted he could command a Hungry Munchlax to eat, the way he was. Regardless, he tried. "Um, Tyrunt? Could you get off of me...?" Claude already knew this would garner no response, this was confirmed by the fact she didn't even glance at Claude. This time, Claude made up his mind. He had been all too timid up until now, he felt he needed a bit of a change...

Taking in a deep breath, Claude bellowed as he stood up, the Tyrunt sliding off of him. "Get off of me now and give me a Roar!" Claudes voice was stern, leaving no room for any argument. So she didn't argue. She just stared at Claude. "Well, that was a flop..." Claude remarked.

Once the Swellow flew off from the branch it was the signal for Sissy that it will follow her and fall into the trap. The Swellow kept coming closer to Sissy over the seconds, once it reached close enough, Miss came out from her hiding place and used Mean Look with success. The Swellow could not leave unless it could beat the Misdreavus in a battle.

"The plan was a success." Sissy said and looked at the Swellow. "I think you have something that belongs to me. Now please give it back, and we will leave you alone." Her eyes were scanning the Swellow, to see where it had put the camera, but with no luck. The camera wasn't on it. Don't tell me, she left it at her nest."

"Cotton come out." She said holding the Swablu's pokeball. "Cotton can you fly back at that tree and claim the camera?" The Swablu let out a small cry and flew off at the direction of the tree.

"Now what can we do with you?" She looked the Swellow once again, and put her pokedex into her pocket for more safety against the thief.

"I'll be there in a sec~" Danielle called after him cheerfully. Once he was out of sight, Danielle gave each of the Goodras one final hug before she tore herself from their grasp. "Okay, darlings, that's enough out of me. I need to go and meet up with that guy you just glomped. But don't worry!" she pointed in the direction she just came from. "There are many students like me over there for you to hug! I'm sure they will love you~" She waved goodbye to her Kalosian dragon before she walked after Henry.

After she heard them leave for the other students, Danielle sighed out of relief before she spotted her Murkrow a short distance away, waiting patiently for her to arrive. Avis looked free from goo, although her expression indicated otherwise. Next to her side is a sizeable stack of wide, broad leaves that are wet from the morning rain, or Avis managed to fly back and dip each of them into a nearby stream. Danielle smiled at her black bird before taking one of the leaves to wipe hands and arms. Combined with the water and the rough texture of these leaves, most of the goo came off pretty easily. She repeated the same action swiftly onto the rest of her body, with her less-than-amused Murkrow aiding her with her back. Once Danielle was satisfied, she placed the used leaves side by side in a sunny spot, allowing the incoming rain and sun to wash and dry them off. Avis rolled her eyes and sighed. "Aww, don't be like that, Avis. You know this is just Goodra's way of saying hello." Her Murkrow only looked at Danielle's hair. "Well, that will take a while so..." Danielle went back to pick up the remaining wet stack, "I'll fix that and your feathers when we find Henry. I'm sure he'll appreciate these too."

------------

Once the girls found Henry, Danielle placed the wet pile of broad leaves in front of him before taking a seat next to him. She then took one of the said leaves and ran it once over Avis' feathers. Danielle then showed the results to her Orre companion: The leaf was covered with the residual goo that Avis had failed to get off with just pure water or a leaf alone. "A Goodra's goo is easy to brush off once you figured out its properties, and it's also great for the skin with a little refinery." She then used another portion of that leaf to wipe off the rest of Avis' body. "Laverre is used to having children playing around with Goodra and its evolution line, so its citizens, including moi, learned how to wash its slime off outside of a good shower. It's easier to get off than mud, in my opinion." Danielle then handed a broad leaf to Henry. "Come on, I doubt you would want to do anything knowing that you still have goo on you." Danielle then untied her hair and began running a wet leaf over a section of her hair. Avis had flown off to pluck off more leaves for their use. Every minute or so, the two would hear a splat as a leaf came down from above. "So Orre has a Colosseum... No wonder you are good at doubles." 'Might as well get the ball rolling.'

Murdoc and Zephyr

Lana felt really awkward and had no idea how to continue the conversation. Maybe she could ask him about his newest catch? But the last time she asked something she didn’t get all that much response. It might be possible Kage wasn’t interested in talking to her. She tried making eye contact with Raiza, who was surrounded by Gible, to ask her for help.

Commander and DarkLight

Kristen was on her way back after catching her newest team member, when she saw Henry and Danielle sitting next to each other. She walked over and noticed they were covered in some goo. She kept her distance and made sure the Murkrow couldn’t throw leaves at her. “Oooh look at this cute picture! You sure swing around from boy to boy at a fast rate, Danielle. But your newest catch is kinda pathetic.” She turned her attention towards Henry. “You really are nothing but talk. You act high and mighty and talk big like how you’re going to put Danielle on her place and here you are; sitting cozy next to each other.”

Tses

The Swellow was confused when she couldn’t escape. To make things worse she even failed to grab that shiny thing. She flapped her wings in anger and frustration and saw the Misdreavus. Was that stupid thing responsible for trapping her? If she wanted a fight she could get one. She would knock that ghost type out like she did earlier with that Scyther.

Lucky Elf

Devin frowned. “That’s an interesting reaction to say the least. And now you know she doesn’t seem interested in being released. You’ll have to be strict with her and show who is in charge or else she might turn out to be very dominant and change the trainer-Pokémon role around.”

Claude sighed, trying his very best not to show his nerves. "I-I don't really know how well that will go down, but, I guess I'll try... Now, Let's see what you can do... Colere. Yes, I think I'll call you that for the time being." Claude said, taking out his pokedex to check her moves. "hmmm, tackle, roar, stomp, bite, bide and, oh my... Rock polish..." Claude looked at the newly dubbed Colere with a new appreciation "Maybe i can work with you..." he murmured. Colere simply watched, whilst Lance and Doux looked on, gazing at the bagons.

'So much for moving forward.' Danielle continued to scrap the goo off of the rest of her hair before turning to Kristen with a look of pity. "Oooh look at this poor child, Henry! She looks so lonely over there all by herself. It's no wonder that she is so cranky all of the time~ You know," Danielle turned to Henry with a mischievous grin, "I feel bad for having you all to myself. Maybe you should give a hug so she would feel better~" she suggested, emphasizing those two words to get her point across.

A single "splat" was heard once in the din. Avis had just finished soaking another broad leaf when she heard the commotion. Judging by Danielle's tone, Avis could guess where she wanted to take this and flew silently towards the Goodra group to usher it towards their new target. Then, the Murkrow perched on a nearby tree to wait for the show to begin.

Unfortunately for Lana, the Ground-Dragon types had gotten to Raiza first. "Oh wow, these little Gible out of nowhere, pon--" The sudden appearance of baby land sharks startled Raiza and Toothless alike, the latter rasping in delight, squirming to be put down. Successfully escaping his Trainer's embrace, the Deino cried out with a throaty voice, trying to sniff out the other Dragon-types from the ground, almost jumping when one would pop out of the ground. Although Raiza tried making her way towards the two students, one of the playful Pokemon would pop up where we would step, making her stumble backwards or hastily put her foot down somewhere else so as to not step on the little dragons. Disdainfully, Lucifer hovered over the baby dragons trying to play with Raiza, dodging any of the ones who would jump up high with a high-pitched "Gibleeeee!".

Awhile after leaving the cave with Noibat, Robert was left with nothing much outside of getting back to the main areas and handing over the camera. He had pondered trying to find someone else, but decided that most others would likely be focused on their own plans, and that it wouldn't be a good idea to risk messing up someone else's plans or catches. Thinking back to the 'catches' part, Robert had realized that he had yet to give names to his new friends.

Now Noibat, he seemed like a simple one to nickname, especially for the species, but Robert wanted to make the name unique. He thought about what he learned about Noibat's and Noiverns from Devin's Dragon Class, that their species were associated a lot with their high speeds, so the choices kept coming down until one stuck in his head. "Hey Noibat, how do you feel about the name 'Jetstream'?" The Noibat turned around from it's leading position and gave a brief smile and a head nod. "Okay, seems you like that. Now for you..."

He said such while looking down towards the Goomy's to his right. In full truth, Goomy's was a bit harder to name than the others. It's not like he could name her something simple without it seeming insulting. As he stared at the Goomy intent on finding something that would help come up with a name for her, he remembered something from one of the stops by the 'Dewford Hall,' which he ended up coming into from time to time during workouts. Specifically, the current visit he remembered had one woman that had just came from Kalos on Vacation, rambling on and on of how Goodra goo could be used to 'make some of the most amazing Moisturizers and Lotions.' Appart from how she tried to pass off the products to whoever she could, even offering him some Goo-esque creation that was supposed to work like super-deodorant for workouts, there was one major producer that she kept repeating, and that title was "Nikkita." While he wasn't quite sure why it would really matter to name her after that, he didn't have much else. "What do you say Goomy, you good with being called Nikki?" While unsure at first, the Goomy's smiled happily at the new name, as it seemed sweet to it. With the new names out of the way, Robert continued on towards the starting area, happy to take the camera to the teachers.

As Slade was was heading back he could see Lana, Raiza, and Kage talking to each other though it seem silence was their only language. Well it's time t teach them a new one. Slade walked into the group with Flare by his side. He could sense all of the awkwardness and he didn't much like that. So time for Slade's weirdness to take full throttle. He went right into the middle of the three and gave a big, "AHEM!" then he stated in a gentlemanly tone "Paper or plastic?"

"Hmm... not a bad choice monsieur," Slade said still sporting the gentlemanly tone, "But what about you two madame mazels? Care to enlighten us on your preference on the matter?" he said facing towards to the two ladies. Right now it wouldn't surprise him if Flare suddenly gain a monocle and started to join this, whatever this is.

Henry was silent for a moment while hearing Kristen then Danielle talk. "I give up. Neither of you are worth the hassle and I can sense the seeds have been planted in this rivalry. If this is the beginning, I want no association with either especially of what could come. This is a trip to learn about dragons, not some overdramatized reality tv show. If you'll excuse me, I'm just going to go. Danielle, let's just forget about everything that happened on the trip. Nothing good would've come of it anyway." Henry used his cane to get back on his feet and made his way back to the place they split off from the teachers. Truthfully, I'm scarred to be around when one of them loses it. Henry thought to himself. Evan had the right idea by staying out of it and I'm doing the same.

Group 1 (Bforger, Murdoc, Zephyr, EXLink)

Lana literally jumped when Slade caught her off guard. One part of her was glad he interrupted the awkward situation, but in some way he managed to make the atmosphere really weird to her. “Plastic?” she said really quiet. She had no idea what the question even meant. “It can hold water and you can recycle it?”

In the meantime a sandstorm, far enough away from the students had caught Alastair’s eye. He walked over to make sure nothing happened and released a Kingdra to deal with it. Tyron was busy watching the battle between Shiro and the Druddigon. His Mienshao stood on high alert in case something would go wrong. Because both of them were busy they didn’t notice it was time to head back.

Group 2 (Commander and DarkLight) –> Phoebe + Roman

Unfortunately for Avis and Danielle their plan failed. Roman was walking around gathering students to tell them it was time to head back. He laughed when he saw remains of Goodra goo on Danielle and Henry. “So they caught you both? What with the long face, boy? You would think a good hug would cheer anyone up!” He chuckled at his own joke. “Anyone it’s time to head back so let’s get moving!”

They arrived back at camp in time to hear Devin tell his group they were free for the evening and that food would arrive soon.

Group 3 (TurboAura, Tses, Tacos)

A whistle could be heard to indicate it was time to head back. Unfortunately for Sissy she still didn’t have her camera back and had to deal with an aggressive Swellow. Maybe Robert and Ryan, who were close by, could help her out?

Group 4 (K_H, Surge, Jory, Azery, Lucky Elf)

Devin watched Claude for a minute or two before looking at his watch. “Everyone, gather up! We’re going back to the cottages!”

After a rather long walk back the group was first to arrive at camp. Devin announced they were free to do whatever they wanted within the parameters of the camp until the food arrived. He just finished his speech when Phoebe and Roman showed up with their group as well.

((Where did K_H disappear to?))

A bit ruffled from her encounter with the rowdy Gible, Raiza smoothened her hair. For a while, she had to keep Toothless from trying to nip the baby land sharks. After Kage and Lana answered Slade, she gave the question some thought for a while. "Ah," she said, deadpan as usual, looking heavenward as though she had an idea. "Rubber."
