Pokémon Academy: Ch 2a: Dragons [IC]

"Go to hell!" After firing this off loud enough for pretty much everyone in the vicinity to hear, Kage started toward the mountain as he had heard that Ryan had run off in that direction. However, he was interrupted by the Flygon's landing. Lucas told him that it had carried Ryan back, and Kage ran toward him. He wanted to throw his arms around him without saying anything, but he stopped. It was too late, really, but he didn't want to embarrass Ryan any further, so he just sort of shuffled his feet around when he reached him. "Hey," he said softly.

[TurboAura]

Having seen the Flygon swoop in, grab Ryan, and fly back towards the camp, Jet decided to follow the Flygon back, seeing as his orders were already done with.

Just before Robert could get to Sofia, Kristen got there and took Sofia towards the Girls cabin, which he let go and reasoned that it was to comfort Sofia. A while afterwards, Jet flew back down and landed on Robert's shoulder, signaling towards the Flygon that was carrying Ryan. Robert sighed in relief, walking over to a spot close to where it landed, knowing not to get TO close to avoid the likely mob of people.

[Felicity]

Hearing the mighty roar, Doux quickly zipped back to camp, using the last of his wind to propel himself back to camp. He didn't want to stick around to find out what just roared.

Claude was a little bit overwhelmed. First, there was all the drama going on with Ryan and Sofia, then Colere gets angry at Kristen for whatever reason, then Kage burst onto the scene. Everyone seemed to be intent on scolding each other, arguing or just flat out yelling, Claude decided he was done for the night, and wandered over to the edge of camp to wait for Doux, who arrived a few minutes later. "What on earth happened Doux..." Claude turned to Colere. "And you, you can't go growling at anybody and everybody, is that understood?" Claude was trying to be stern, and it appeared to work, Colere averting her eyes rather than showing resistance. Claude nodded and walked almost to the middle when he saw Ryan and Kage. Claude decided to leave the two, figuring it best they had their moment, even if Claude wondered how Ryan got back.

[Tacos]

Ryan was startled when Avis had approached him, but he actually appreciated the comfort a little. It wasn't even that long that she had been there that Devin's Flygon had appeared, whisking Ryan away back to camp. When they arrived, Ryan pet the Flygon on the head, showing his appreciation for the help.

"Hey."

Ryan turned around to see Kage. The one person he was hoping to see this whole time. His face turned scarlet red, once again, as it had before. He looked and saw he was shuffling his feet, obviously feeling awkward. "Don't even try to save me from embarrassment, like I give a fuck anymore." Ryan immediately threw himself into a hug with Kage, and pressed his lips into Kage's, with absolutely no regrets.

[DarkLight]

Like the rest of the flying Pokemon, Avis quickly followed suit and sped back to the camp grounds after hearing the powerful roar. She already died once and has no intention on doing it a second time before she is old and wrinkly.

Danielle gasped as a Flygon suddenly zoomed from and back to the camp with a visibly shaken Ryan. "Oh, thank Arceus..." she sighed with relief as Kristen hurried off with Sofia after giving an innocent Kage a diva attitude. Once the two girls have gone back to the girls' cabin, Avis came back to greet Danielle. "Merci to you too, Avis." The Murkrow crowed happily before taking her place on Danielle's shoulder. The coordinator in training then took a step over to where Ryan was but, seeing that Kage beat her to the punch, she decided to to leave him be. "They are so cute, aren't they?" she asked out loud to her friends while they kissed. "I wish I had someone to comfort me like that..." She then blushed after realizing what she had just said, hiding her face in her hand. 'At least Kristen isn't here to see that slip up...'

[Aurorix]

"They are so cute, aren't they?"

Slade looked towards the two men kissing, "I wouldn't say cute, more or less a manly couple." Slade said putting his hands behind his head.

"I wish I had someone to comfort me like that..."

Slade suddenly felt weird, like all tingly inside. He didn't know what was going on but it was something Danielle said. He stood there not knowing what to do or say until he finally spoke up in a shaky voice, "Ummm..... I....." there was a long pause and Slade's face was now blushing, "I need to go to the bathroom be right back!" He said frantically. He then ran towards the bathroom in the male's cabin. Flare knew what was happening and followed right behind him as he entered the cabin.

"Um... S-Sure..." Danielle replied, shaking her head to clear her thoughts. She didn't notice that Slade was blushing and continued observing the scene before her, trying to calm her nerves.

On the other hand, nothing escaped Avis' keen eyes. She gave a quick peck on Danielle's ear before she flew after Slade; the Murkrow was quite determined to find out what was on Slade's mind. It was... unusual for him to be so flustered. She managed to track Slade and Flare to their cabin room and had flown to his bed. The overly curious Murkrow then made herself comfortable and waited for any sign of movement.

"Avis, where---? Nevermind..." Danielle sighed. She was used to her Murkrow's disappearing act by now, and Avis usually comes back after a few minutes anyway. 'She probably found another shiny object that caught her attention.'

[Sutoratosu]

Mareek listened as everything was explained, sighing a little when the actual conflict was revealed. "God, why do some people not know how to treat others nowadays... it's fucking ridiculous..." His thoughts were broken by the sight of the Flygon descending and dropping off the same boy he'd seen hobbling away not long ago, along with the affection between him and another male student, whom Mareek presumed to be his "Boyfriend". Honestly, as far as he could see, the crisis was about over, and it wasn't quite as messy as the others had been.

"Well if everything's all straight here, no one's out missing or anything, I guess I'll just get back to-"

"Ummm..... I....." Mareek looked over to see his roomate blushing now for some reason, he assumed it had something to do with what danielle had just said though... "I need to go to the bathroom be right back!"

"What the hell is this about?" he asked as the other red haired boy ran off towards the males cabin, disappearing inside. "I haven't seen him act this weird since that first night on campus..." he returned his team save for Cubone, heading off after him and entering the cabin just in time to see the door to the bathroom just closing. He saw something moving out of the corner of his eye, turning to find Danielle's murkrow, though he ignored the bird for now and knocked on the door, presuming Slade to be inside. "Slade, man," he began. "What the hell was all that about? You looked flustered for no reason back there."

[Jory]

Jacob stood where he had been the entire time, still shaking in anger and trying to calm himself down. The nerve of that ginger bitch... he thought to himself. When she had gone off on Kage, however, the Trainer had had to keep himself from laughing. I can't believe she just made that gesture at a blind guy. He then looked toward Ryan and Kage, who were now... Ugh. Get a room. The angry young Trainer stormed off toward Danielle, wanting nothing more than to talk to his friend. And just that. I don't want to like her anymore. She's one of the best friends I could ever ask for, and I shouldn't take that for granted.

Upon reaching her, Jacob gave Danielle an awkward little wave. After standing there for several seconds, Jacob finally opened his mouth. "Can you believe the nerve of that girl? Going off on Ryan and Kage like that was totally uncalled for. And she called me 'Cutie.' Could she be any more patronizing?" he asked his friend, exasperated from the encounter with Sofia and her bitch of a roommate.

[Aurorix]

As Slade entered the bathroom he shut the door before Flare could get in. Flare yipped a couple of times saying he wants to get in but he never opened the door. Flare decided to give up on trying to enter so he sat down by the door until he sniffed a familiar scent. "That nosey Avis trying to spy on my friend" Flare thought to himself "Not on my watch!" Flare went to Avis trying to distract her by doing weird motions so Slade could be alone, but another scent filled the air. "Mareek? Well, at least he might help Slade." He continuing to do weird motions then jumped at Avis to move her.

Slade in the bathroom sat down not knowing what to do. He'd only felt this way one other time before and that was when Danielle, Jacob, and him were eating dinner together. Confused and distraught he splashed his face with water to regain his bearings. "Do I really have those kinds of feelings towards Danielle or am I just imagining it?" Slade thought to himself. Then a knocking came from the door followed by a voice.

"Slade, man, what the hell was all that about? You looked flustered for no reason back there."

It was Mareek, it seemed he followed him. Well, if he could trust anyone his roommate should one of them. He wiped his face from the water and said, "Hey, Mareek can I talk to you about something private for a moment?" Slade said in a sad tone to the closed door.

[Chim]

While Ryan and Kage were drawing all attention towards them, Devin’s phone call paid off. The Elite Four member waited on the dusty road for a truck to arrive. Four men got out and started lining tables next to the teacher cottage. After that they put a massive amount of spaghetti and sauce on it alongside with Pokémon food on a separate table. A few students, including Evan, were appointed to help out with unloading the food and were the first to grab some.

The aroma of spaghetti filled the air and reached a certain Togepi. Maybe its friend wandered off to where that food came from? The little egg walked towards the smell but wasn’t the only one. As soon as it passed the trampoline it could hear a loud grumble. “Snoooor! Lax! Snorlax lax!” the trampoline said. After that loud roar from earlier, the little Togepi got startled and ran off.

Evan was eating on a fallen log close to the forest and saw the little Pokémon sprinting by. “What the…?” he mumbled, but seeing the Togepi ran away and tug behind a random leg, he didn’t think much of it. At least until the bushes behind him started to rustle and he heard a noise like some giant stomach was grumbling. He heard heavy footprints behind him and when he looked up he could see a Snorlax drooling and staring at his spaghetti.

The little Togepi was peeked from behind the leg to see the Snorlax stopped moving. It was afraid the sleeping Pokémon got angry because of all the jumping earlier. Togepi grabbed the leg closer and accidentally pulled by reflex. It just hoped the Snorlax wouldn’t find it behind Jacob’s leg.

"Um...sure, I don't see why_not..." Mareek easily caught the tinge of sadness in Slade's voice through the door, ignoring Flare as the Growlithe went to doing weird things to seemingly try to get Danielle's bird out of the room. Cubone stood there watching the two curiously though as his trainer continued.

"Why don't you come out of there first though," the boy went on to say. "Afterall, it's kinda hard to have a serious talk through a bathroom door."

((I'm assuming the bathrooms are single person and not like the types with stalls. correct me if I'm wrong about this, soldiers.))

[DarkLight]

"Can you believe the nerve of that girl? Going off on Ryan and Kage like that was totally uncalled for. And she called me 'Cutie.' Could she be any more patronizing?"

Danielle giggled at her friend's exasperated tone of voice before she gave a wave herself. Just like Avis thought, Jacob is too smart to fall for Kristen's false, calm attitude. "I totally agree with you there, Jacob. Kristen really deserved what you and Kage said to her." Realizing that she dropped the redhead's name, she quickly tried to explain the slip. "Kristen is the that girl's name. I have had the honor of being in her group and she isn't the nicest person you'll ever meet. She's worse than Henry... Actually, no, Kristen is the worst. Believe it or not, she made me her rival just because I happen to be more popular than she is... Talk about lame." Danielle rolled her eyes once more at that thought. "So, as you could probably guess, I'm her number one enemy and you all will hear her throw insults at me left and right if..." Danielle cut herself short at that. She wasn't entirely sure if she should let Jacob know about Kristen's intentions. If she told him, it would be a means to warn him but she doesn't want to be a gossip. She played around with the straps of her glove, trying to figure out what to do.

Avis only stared at Flare's strange motions before she took off to avoid getting her feathers messed up by the jumping Growlithe. She then landed on top of a dresser to stare down at the scene. "Murkrow." she uttered to the Growlithe, trying to get him to understand that she is trying to help too. "Krow, krow, mur~" Avis explained to the fire Pokemon that since this concerns her master, she has to be here too. Plus, she has kept Jacob's feelings for Danielle as a secret too. As an added effect, she gestured towards Mareek to indicate that she was trying to do the exact same thing that he is doing now.

[Aurorix]

Flare understood what Avis was trying to do but he gave a glare saying if she's dares tell whats going on he'd never forgive her. He then went to the door by Mareek and the Cubone siting down waiting for his trainer.

"Why don't you come out of there first though. Afterall, it's kinda hard to have a serious talk through a bathroom door."

"Well, of course," Slade replied "I just wanted to know before hand." The handle then gave a chink sound and slowly opened. Slade noticed Mareek, Flare, and a Cubone to which he assumed was Mareek's. "Come on lets get out of the hall way and into my room, I don't want everyone in the hallway to hear." He said with his left hand grabbing his right elbow. "My room is just over there, follow me." He pointed at the room where Flare came out of and walked towards there. Flare walked with him yipped back at Mareek as a sigh to follow.

Mareek did as his Roommate requested, following behind and leaning against one of the bunkbeds after he entered the room, shutting the door a little to prevent anyone from just waltzing in.

"So what's going on?" he asked Slade as Cubone took up a position by the entry way, like a sentry.

Kage was a bit surprised by the kiss, but after the initial moment he returned it passionately before breaking it off and drawing Ryan in for another hug. "Are you sure you're alright?"

[Aurorix]

"Well," Slade said as he go onto he bed laying down, he then let out a big sigh and his tone was very down, "Yesterday Jacob ran off by himself and we gave chase, this was at Devin's garden. When we caught up to him he wanted to talk to Danielle alone. So I walked a fair distance away, put on my headphones and listened to music while they talked. Obviously I put the volume on pretty high but when someone came to tell me I can come over again, it wasn't a person, it was a Haxorus. Turns out while I was not paying attention they were deal with a big group of Haxorus and that's when Ryan hurt his leg." Slade clenched his fist and his tone grew fierce, "If I wasn't so laid back I probably could've prevented that from happening." Then he released his grip and his tone went to a little less sad and a more casual vibe,

"So I got to thinking why did Jacob just want to talk to Danielle and not to me? I mean we're both his friends right, so I got to thinking about my relationships at this school. Little did I know I was hiding dormant feelings for someone. If you couldn't already guess by now it's Danielle. So when she said, 'I wish I had someone to comfort me like that...' Those feelings came rushing out. I wanted to tell her something but I didn't. I chickened out and used going to the bathroom as an excuse to not tell her. But now that I'm saying this to you, one thing really bothers me..." there was a long pause and then went back to his sad self, "Why did she want to be alone with Jacob so badly? Could they already be in a relationship? If I asked what would they say? I don't want our friendship to end..." After that Slade remained silent clenching his fist again. Flare then let out a whimper and tried to comfort Slade.

[Tacos]

Ryan squeezed Kage, appreciating his boyfriend's embrace. "I'm alright now. I get to see you again, there aren't people yelling at me, I haven't emotionally hurt anyone today. So yeah, sounds perfect to me." Ryan let out a hollow chuckled and turned to see the tables with spaghetti and the smaller table for pokemon. "If you want we could discuss our days over dinner. Or does that make us sounds like an old married couple?"

[Felicity]

Claude was wandering the Camp, taking a plate with him to eat as he walked when he noted something. He was alone. Sure, his pokemon were there with him, but each of his friends were all dealing with themselves after the drama. It was rather, lonely. Claude sighed, feeling rather down, despite the awesome sight he saw at the beginning of the day... He ended up sitting at the outskirts of the camp, looking out to the wild beyond the camp.

[TurboAura]

Having watched Ryan and Kage's embrace, him and Kiai had decent smiles on their faces, while Jet was just mellow about it. 'Well, that settle's who Ryan was already interested in. Guess that's all good for him.' With the mentioning of the meal between those two, Robert turned to see the dinner around the corner. Hearing so, he motioned to Jet, making sure the Noibat would wait until everything was gotten in knowledge that he had just come from the wild, and walk towards the food.

[DarkLight]

Avis nodded respectfully towards the protective Growlithe and proceeded to listen in without a word. She was glad Mareek and the Cubone didn't voice their disdain towards her eavesdropping on Slade's emotional breakdown, or maybe they just don't care. That works too.

All the while as Slade voiced his inner turmoil, Avis had remained motionless on top of the drawer, giving him her full, undivided attention. Danielle would jump for joy if she ever found Avis this focused for so long. As the Murkrow-wannabe finished his thoughts, Avis finally tilted her head; the argument made sense but wasn't her master's flirting obvious by now? And, if he is so scared about losing them, he could have asked the Murkrow herself to get an answer. She, of all of Danielle's companions, knew her the longest after all. Despite knowing the answer to Slade's questions, Avis decided to lay low until things took a turn for the worst. Perhaps Mareek will be able to talk some sense into Slade without her interference.

[Sutoratosu]

"she likes you, ya know..." Mareek blurted as soon as Slade was done. "Lana first pointed it out to me yesterday, but I could honestly see what she meant as soon as she told me. I've seen the way Danielle's been glancing at you from time to time, especially lately... I just never gave it much thought before. But after that, it be came very obvious to me Slade... I'm fairly certain that she likes you as well. There's most likely not anything Going on between her and Jacob, at least, it wouldn't really make an sense if there was."

He walked over to bed, a certain coldness in his eyes as he stared down at his roomate, along with just a hint of the slightest smugness. "And I was right when I told Lana afterwards that chances are, you're completely oblivious to the whole thing. Now get up, you're not going to make yourself feel any better by laying in here sulking. I have to put up with even worse crap then this on a daily basis, but you don't see me giving up; I just keep going, keep trying, because my problem can't resolve itself, I have to take action in order to try to end it. That's something I realized earlier today, Slade." Cubone's attention was drawn away from the door by his Trainer's speech, a hopeful glint in it's eyes as he watched him continue... maybe that problem was the same one he had seen earlier? That meant he had helped, made himself useful. How joyous for him.

"So go on, Get up," Mareek ordered. "Get out there and tell her how you feel about her, DO NOT tell her I or Lana said anything about it though, I don't want a reputation as a guy who goes around gossiping about people behind their backs, and I'm sure Lana wouldn't want one either." he went over to the door, his Cubone sensing what he wanted and opening the wooden slab, holding it ajar. Mareek turned back to face Slade expectantly, hands in his pockets. "And one more thing, Slade," he said, his voice colder and harsher than he honestly meant it to be. "Be thankful you can even feel that way about anyone... I've come to find that something in my heart keeps stopping me from being able to do the same. now... get out, go ask Danielle to speak alone, and tell her how you feel, you got me?"

He leaned back against the wall, thinking he'd done the job fine. It was sound advice, he felt sure of it... too bad he himself just couldn't... actually follow it. "Oh Irony... you sadistic, cruel bitch..." he thought to himself "I can sit here and preach these words to someone else all day long... but the moment I try following my own doctrine, I become worse than a coward..."

[Jory]

Jacob laughed as Danielle explained the Kristen situation. It was all just too funny to him after seeing Kristen act to high and mighty, particularly the part about how Kristen essentially wanted to be Danielle. "Yeah, she's certainly having fun sitting all the way up there on her high horse. She is kinda cute though..." he trailed off, looking off into the distance for a moment. "Anyway, she had whatever Kage and I said to her coming today. But she can't be that bad, Danielle. I mean, she clearly cares about Sofia at the very least. Maybe she's one of those people that just takes a bit of getting used to, you know?" he said hopefully, trying to be optimistic. He then cocked his head to the side, remembering the last thing Danielle had said. "She'll insult you if... what exactly?" he asked, genuinely curious as to what Danielle seemed to be hiding from him.

[Aurorix]

"Wait, you're saying she likes me?" Slade said with surprise "I thought she had a thing with Jacob." Slade now felling more confident got up from his bed. "I'm going to see for myself and if she is. And if she is oh well, but if she isn't then I'll ask!" Flare stood there in awe, the once gloomy Slade was back to his normal self and better than ever. It seems Mareek's words spoke through to him and he was happy his partner was so happy. He couldn't help but yip over and over until Slade left. "Thanks Mareek, I really needed that that. Now I'm off." He said as he fixed his hat and headed out the building. Once he got outside the aroma of spaghetti filled the air and he looked for Danielle. But he found her talking to Jacob, that put a slight damper on his enthusiasm. He approached the group with Flare by his side, "Hey guys how are you doing, oh Jacob how nice of you to join us. So you guys wanna talk over food? I smell pasta and me likey pasta" He asked the group, seems it was harder than expected to ask Danielle to speak alone.

[Zephyrus the Priestess]

So everything was settled before she could react. Professor Devin's Flygon had come to the rescue, Kage and Ryan were together, everyone else was together, and there was pasta and dinner on the table. In shorter terms, the balance of the universe had been restored and everything seemed to be in its rightful place... except for one thing.

Where the heck was her Litwick, again?

"I let Lucifer get away again, pon," Raiza said, with a hand to her forehead. "I know he's a good boy, but..."
