Pokémon Academy: Ch 2a: Dragons [IC]

Eventually Shade returned to just floating around the bus as they came closer and closer to Boulder hills. As James finished his drawing of the other kids,he decided to take out his pokedex and started to look at Tyanniel and Luna the new Litwick he caught.As James did this,he saw a Sneasel pounce at a Litwick on Ryan's lap.Wanting to know what was going on he asked"Hey,Ryan what's going on with the Litwick on your Lap?"

[Tacos]

"Ok, don't worry, I got it from here." Before Ryan could make a move, Lucifer and Rogue pounced on Ryan's lap. Ryan jumped back, rather astonished at first, but calmed himself down. You wanna play it that way Raiza? Ryan leaned over to Glacien. "I need you to go over there, and use powder snow over Raiza. Winter's coming early." With that, Glacien set off to Raiza and finally found her from underneath her seat. Glacien, being careful not to get caught, summoned a powder snow and ran back to Ryan hoping not to get caught. While this was happening, James showed up, asking Ryan about his sudden gain of a few pokemon. "Well, James, this isn't even mine. This Litwick belongs to a girl named Raiza. She's over there if you want to ask her." Ryan pointed back a couple of seats to where the miniature snow storm was brewing over her head.

[Zephyrus the Priestess]

"R-Rogue, cut it out, pon," Raiza said, irritably, as she pulled on the hood of her sweater. It was amazing how her legs and knees hadn't buckled from her still being in the same position facing Slade while her fingers jabbed at the controls of her PSP, pausing for a while to pull up her hood.

"Wick." Lucifer said, happily, basking in the gloriously sweet life force of Ry-- wait, what? Did he just try to pull a stunt on his beloved Trainer? Exchanging glances and a nod with Rogue, they decided to retaliate for their Trainer, unbeknownst to them that she was barely fazed by the prank at all, with her sheer concentration on the game she was playing.

In no time a cold blast of wind picked up in Ryan's spot and a pair of yellow eyes began flashing dangerously.

[Azeria]

Seeing the Sneasel attack Ryan,James started laughing."Hahaha,you look like a Christmas tree Ryan!"He said in the middle of his giggles and laughs.

[Tacos]

Ryan knew what was happening before it truly gave off any effect. Ryan took the sunglasses hanging on his head most of the time and slid them down to his eyes, shielding himself from the confuse ray. Then, he quickly glanced to Feroces. "Warm it up why don't you." Feroces prepared his fire fang, swinging it around in the air to create heat for Ryan to feel comfortable under. "Come on guys, it was a simple trick, no need to resort to violence."

[Zephyrus the Priestess]

The Litwick pouted at Ryan, then looked at Rogue. Being a natural trickster, Rogue understood, calming down much sooner and bowed her head in apology before turning to Lucifer to explain. However, Lucifer kept his little pouty face on, not appreciating anybody attacking his Trainer (whom he regarded, in a way, as his mother), especially for fun. Well, at least he wasn't eating pieces of Ryan's soul at the moment... "Wick. Wick wick, wick ((I have no idea how Litwick sound like cause I don't follow the anime lol))!" squeaked the Litwick, as though saying that they should all go see what Raiza thinks of the little joke. This earned a sigh from his Sneasel friend, who then tried to explain the situation to the peeved candle Pokemon.

[Tacos]

"Well Lucifer, you know how you like to feed on people's souls for fun? Yes, that's right. I've caught onto it, you little trickster," Ryan shot Lucifer a grin and a small wink. "Well, Raiza was simply my means of amusement. I don't think she minds right now anyway." Ryan peeked over his seat to see Raiza immersed in her PSP as small snowflakes whirled about her head. "Yeah, that PSP must get more attention than you guys sometimes." Ryan chuckled and patted Rogue on the head and Lucifer... wherever there wasn't a fire on him.

[Zephyrus the Priestess]

When Ryan mentioned figuring out how he liked eating souls, Lucifer shrugged with a face that seemed to say, "Wasn't that supposed to be obvious?" But now that he mentioned it too, Raiza did seem too immersed with that little machine, just like that red-headed guy. The flame on his head fumed, as though he was annoyed that something else would catch his Trainer's attention even for a moment. At this idea, the Sneasel pouted as well, the head feather on her head drooping a little bit.

Meanwhile, Raiza sneezed. Whether it was due to the cold she wasn't minding at all or something else entirely, she didn't really know.

[Tacos]

"Oh you poor babies, I never meant to upset you. You guys do realize you are her top priorities, right? She trains with you to make you strong and makes you happy with treats or her overall joyous behavior. Maybe repay her and warn her about what's happening. It'll help us both out. I simply wanted a reaction, and you wouldn't want her to get sick, would you?" Ryan's grin remained fixed on his face. I know what to do here. Ryan pulled out a golden, but still small trophy he had one from winning a small tournament in Sootopolis when he had visited before going off to Ymora. He had used this as a means of practice for Glacien's flash freeze trick. "I wanna show you two something." In a more quiet tone, Ryan whispered to Glacien, "Gold to Crystal." Glacien quickly shot a water gun over the shimmering gold, dousing the Kingdra on the trophy. He then froze it in a mere seconds, leaving the trophy shimmering, like a crystal, even though it was obviously ice. "Isn't that pretty?" Ryan's grin became a legitimate beam, hoping he had impressed the two pokemon.

[TurboAura]

After watching Ryan's little snow-show, he had a impressed smile on his face. Now when the Sneasel and the Litwick had hit Ryan with their attacks, it was made obvious to him that they were her Pokemon, though nothing really seemed to be 'dark' about what had happened. After a bit of thinking, he thought of one thing Ryan stated. "Wait, that thing eats souls? Well, that's... atleast it's good to know now then." Robert looked cautiously at the Ghost type, as if he was starting to gain a weakness of Fighting type. Of course, it's not wild, so he knew that it should be okay.

[Zephyrus the Priestess]

Both Pokemon were amazed at how quickly the cute little squishy ball of blubber had frozen the shiny trophy, and how pretty it looked. At this point Lucifer had gotten over Ryan's wanting to prank Raiza and inwardly agreed with his idea of what the Litwick understood was getting the girl's attention. Rogue, though, her eyes practically sparkled at Glacien's performance, wishing she could blast something with her Icy Wind and freeze it as quickly, or even quickly. The Sneasel, enthralled, clapped her little... paws?-- Hands?-- together like a child would.

[Tses]

"You were staring my chest." Sissy said turning her face back at Kage. "I'm not into a relationship or anything like that right now. I just care for my pokemon right now more than myself." She said looking on Miss. How stupid can boys be? You just talk to them and they try to find an opening to see your chest.

The Misdreavus took off the headphones, once the song was over, and aired back to her trainer. She nodded her face pointing Kage, saying in her way that something is wrong about him.

[Chevaleresse]

Kage's face flushed. Oh, shit, how do I explain this? "I-I didn't mean to. . . it just sort of happened!" As soon as he said the words, he realized how bad that sounded. "Look, I mean, uh. . . Lemme just say that I wasn't trying to stare at you. That's all. Sorry."

[Tses]

Sissy looked at Kage's face. She could realize that he didn't do it on purpose. "Apology accepted." She smiled back at him. "We just forget that happened. Right?"

Her Misdreavus went back at Kage trying to put on thee headphones once again, hoping that he will put on another song for her to dance.

[Jory]

Jacob looked on quietly at the conversation, sighing in disappointment. Oh well. There'll be time for socializing later. The young Trainer began to think about training his Pokemon later that day and decided quickly that an attacking drill was in order. I don't want to have anything like that battle with Flare happen again, he thought to himself. That means we need to be able to take them from a lot of health to none quickly. Teo's attacks are already more powerful than Chalchi's, so I'll need to make sure he gets a lot of training in.

[Tacos]

Ryan turned to Robert. "Oh, I've experienced it first-hand, and it's nothing more than a little amount of fatigue that will come as an effect." Ryan looked back to see that Rogue seemed to be overjoyed with the statue. "How about you two hurry back over to Raiza and let her know?"

[Chevaleresse]

Kage laughed, both at the Misdreavus's antics and in an attempt to forget his embarrassment. "Alright, if you want more, then here it is."

[Tses]

The Misdreavus let out a joyfull cry and continued listening the music that Kage put on. "I think she likes you." Sissy sighed looking at Kage.

[Zephyrus the Priestess]

Both Pokemon nodded happily and ran off to bother and/or smother their Trainer with love.

A little while later, a surprised cry of "AGH" came from Raiza's general direction as she disappeared from sight, presumably having been glomp tackled by two very inspired Pokemon.

Upon hearing Ryan about how Litwick's "habits" weren't as bad as he took them, Robert let out a relieved sigh. "Oh good. Doubt there's really a way I would've noticed it anyway. Anywho, it's all okay. So, anything else you have in mind? Not really like we have much action for now." Before getting a response, he heard Raiza's response to her pokemon's, 'greeting.' "Or we could check up on her? Your choice really."

[Tacos]

"Oh she'll be fine, Lucifer can warm her up if necessary." Ryan looked back to see the poor girl being smothered by her pokemon.

[Zephyrus the Priestess]

A disgruntled-looking Raiza with disheveled hair sat up slowly in her seat after what felt like an eternity of agonizing tickling from her Pokemon. "Okay, okay, I'll play with you guys more on this trip, pon," she said, tiredly. Looking around, she searched for something to do with the two on the bus. From there, she spotted Ryan and another guy watching her. Wearily, she walked up to him and asked, "Did you maybe play with my Pokemon and told em to glomp me or somethin', pon?"

[TurboAura]

'Well, guess we didn't have to come to her anyway,' Robert had thought to himself after she got up and came over to them. "Well, it's not like we expected those two to pretty much tackle you, or atleast I didn't. My name's Robert, by the way." Robert slid over in the seat and signaled that it was fully okay to for her to sit there, just as a gesture to shift things to a positive mood.

[Chim]

While the students were pranking each other, Devin was still working on dividing them in groups. He was content with the results of his first attempt, but felt that last minute changes were required. One group contained a lot more students and some names were placed in the ‘on hold’ category. His finger went past names and every now and then he stopped.

Advent, Shiro. Ah yes, the boy with the Ralts I met on day 1. I kept an eye on him and noticed he doesn’t have much confidence and struggles to control his Snorunt. He isn’t the most social kid either… He usually follows the same people so maybe I should place him in another group. I think I’ll keep him close at the start since he tends to get in trouble. He was also the one that angered Hydreigon after all which shows he can be irresponsible. I’ll place him in Group 1 that starts their trip under my guidance.

He moved his finger down the line of names again and stopped when he reached Baldwin Henry. Yet another student that caught my eye on day 1 and one of the students that Shiro follows around. I have the impression lately they don’t get along, especially after what happened in my garden, so I’ll keep them separated during the trip. He’s rather hard to approach and doesn’t seem to have many friends, but at least he learned from his mistakes. I’ll split him up from his usual social contacts and hopefully he will open up to people in the future. On a side note; I still think he would do better in the Trainer program instead of trying to be a Coordinator. It seems a little odd to me he choose that path.

Burlinkski Kyle was the next in line. Devin couldn’t help but smile a little when seeing that name. Even amongst Coordinators Claude stood out. He could probably rival Madame Plumeau when she finally returned from Kalos. A little eccentric, but at least he’s social and easy to get along with. He’s popular and I noticed a close bond with his Cottonee, but his Karrablast looks like trouble. It shouldn’t be a problem to place him in one of the groups as long as he doesn’t get too comfortable. I heard he’s afraid of Rock types, but in the end he handled himself well when facing my Tyrantrum. I’ll have to tell the other adults to keep an eye out just in case he panics in the Hills.

Somehow all the Coordinators seemed to be on top of the list as Devin’s finger reached the next name he placed under the ‘on hold’ title; Chastain Danielle. One of the more popular students and she seems really close with her Pokémon. As far as I can tell she’s always around Jacob and Slade so I’ll break that little group up. In my garden she showed no consideration towards a wounded student because she was flirting with Slade. I can’t tolerate behavior like that in the mountains and to be honest I expected more out of her. Another thing I noticed is that she acts strange around Electric and Fairy types. If that keeps up I’ll have to talk to her about it but for now I’ll place her in the second group far from her social comfort zone.

Holmes Kenny was next on the list and the first trainer. Ah yes, Kenny also caught my eye on the first day due to his battle with Henry. However he doesn’t seem to have learned his lesson if I go by what he showed me last time. He has an irresponsible battle style and pushes his Pokémon to far over the limit to achieve victory… a dangerous style. He also seems to lack common sense as he tried to Sucker Punch a Vulpix and addresses teachers by their first names. I can only hope he starts to learn from his mistakes and for the sake of meeting others I’ll split him up from his usual group.

Johnson, Ryan. He broke his ankle in my garden. I still need to talk to him about his mobility during this trip. Aside from that I can’t tell much about him since he’s always around Kageharu. I think I’ll keep them apart so they can get to know more people and actually pay attention to their surroundings. According to Professor Redwood he’s a responsible trainer and his grades are really good so I don’t expect too much problems for him.

Devin sighed when he read the next name: Kafkin, Slade. Where to start with this one? I had my eyes on him before class started since he was a runaway. There was also the incident in the forest, but after I saw him handle the situation I thought I might’ve overreacted. Unfortunately he didn’t prove me wrong. He shows a very irresponsible battle style by pushing his Pokémon even further then Kenny. I fear that his Magnemite might overload one of these days. He also seems very oblivious as to what happens around him and doesn’t pay attention towards others. He only seems to have eye for Danielle and Jacob, but to avoid a similar situation like the one in my garden, I’ll split them up.

Marson Raiza Kestrel was the next name in line. Devin frowned a bit. He knew that name from somewhere but couldn’t quite put his finger on it. According to Redwood her parents were breeders so that was probably the reason. I don’t know much about her. She’s one of those students that don’t stand out. I haven’t seen her interact with a lot of people either, but that Litwick of hers is something else. I’ve seen it stare at people like it wants to eat them so maybe I should pay more attention to it. I also have the feeling that she’s one of those students that suddenly comes out of nowhere and is actually a quite decent trainer. It happens every year. ‘Average’ students that start slow and catch up with their peers in no time. Without anything else to add he didn’t think twice about placing her in a group as she would probably fit into all of them without causing problems.

The next student was in the same boat as Raiza; McLake Sissy. Another one Devin didn’t know much about it. Usually students had done something to already to catch his attention, but Sissy and Raiza were different. He thought for a moment and tried to recall her interactions with others. I really can’t place her. I’ve seen her talk to a few other students, but none of them she seemed to be friends with. The only thing that stands out about her is the Misdreavus living in her hair. Who knows, maybe she’s one of the average students that will stand out one day. I think I’ll place her in a group with more social people like Ryan.

Devin looked out the window for a second and saw they were almost there. He really wanted to finish his list now so he quickly moved on the next student on his paper. Nerfion James. Devin frowned. I literally always see him wander off. I’m not sure if he does it on purpose or if he doesn’t have anyone to talk to. I think I’ll place him with social people like Kyle. Hopefully that way he will open up more and be more involved.

Parkhurst, Robert. He’s a responsible student who seems to act like some sort of older brother towards Shiro and Kenny. I just hope it doesn’t get in the way of his personal growth. I’ll place him in a group without them so he can get to know some other people and Pokémon. I want to see more of him outside of his comfort zone.

Devin sighed again when Reeves Evan was next on the list. After his little outburst on day 1 I kept an eye on him. I thought he had anger issues, but during these past weeks he’s been laughing and shrugging everything off like it’s nothing. He’s not social and aside from his roommate I don’t think he has any friends. I’ve seen him get into situations that could’ve easily got out of hand but he just didn’t react to it. However his emotions got the best of him again in my garden. He’s the type to bottle everything up and his smiles aren’t sincere. I don’t think I’ve seen him happy even once. Not even after winning a battle. He’s a person of extremes. His battle skills are really good, but his grades are amongst the lowest. One moment he’s smiling, the next his temper gets the best of him. I need to keep a closer eye on this one. I already spoke about him with Professor Redwood and he agrees. Evan’s temper is dangerous for his own growth. Professor Redwood sees him as one of those students that would just quit is he doesn’t see results. The Winter Cup might play a key role in this. If he keeps his emotions under control I consider him an outsider to win.

Speaking of the Winter Cup; the next name in line was Robertson Jacob. Devin had high expectations of him as he considered Jacob one of the favorites to win. Jacob is very responsible and asked my advice on multiple occasions regarding his Trapinch. If he’s like that with all of his Pokémon, which so far he is, he’s going to be difficult to beat. The only reason I hadn’t placed him in a group yet is because of Slade and Danielle. I hope those two don’t hold him back and he has the opposite effect on them regarding responsibility. However I want him to interact with other students and get to know other battle styles. In fact I think I have a solution when I look at the next name in line. Both of them are promising students that use decent tactics.

The next name in line happened to be Sisto Mareek A. Mareek is probably the best at this point when it comes to battle tactics. He can rival Jacob in terms of battle and I count him as one of the favorites to win the Cup amongst the first years. The only downside I noticed is that he seems to be favoring his Scyther. I’m sure he’ll figure out sooner or later that to find a better balance in dividing his attention to all his Pokémon. He’s not social and a closed person. I hope I can change that a little by giving him the opportunity to interact with other strong trainers. It can only help his growing process if he faces them on the practice fields.

The last person in Devin’s list was Tsukihashi Kageharu. Well, I think I finally found the reason why I thought he was hiding something. I’m pretty sure he’s blind so I’ll keep him with me at the start of the excursion. I haven’t told anyone yet, not even Professor Redwood, until I’m 100% sure about this. I’ll ask him one of these days as I’m quite curious why he didn’t tell anyone. Aside from that he’s a decent battler and really close with his Pokémon, especially that Ralts for obvious reasons. I think I’ll keep him separated from Ryan for now as I want to see him interact more with other students as well.

When he wrote Kages name in the first group he noticed they would arrive within five minutes. He took the microphone that was placed next to the driver and his voice could be heard through the speakers. “Students, we’ll be arriving shortly at our destination. Our guides will be waiting for us so I ask you all to gather in group and don’t wander off. The place where we stop is not where we will be spending the night. We still have to walk for an hour to reach our accommodations. That’s all.”

Hearing Devin's announcement,James got his SketchBook and Pokedex and put them in his bag."This'll be interesting,maybe i'll catch a new pokemon...though i already have 3.This might be a hard choice"He thought to himself as he walked back to his seat.
