Pokémon Academy: Ch 2a: Dragons [IC]

An angry cry had drawn the group of Deino that was in front of Avis towards the duo that was about to battle Henry's Pokemon. As they scampered off to view the battle, Danielle and her two Pokemon heard a little Togepi inviting them over to view the scene. Zared cried out his reply before looking over to Danielle expectantly. If there was a battle close by, he surely would not want to miss it. Avis also seemed interested; the Deino family is known for its use of Dark Pulse. Perhaps she could pick up a few tips on how to control it from one of the young dragons.

Seeing her Mawile's excited demeanor and Avis' contemplation, Danielle gave a nod before getting up from her comfortable seat by the tree. She allowed Zared to run after the Togepi grab a good seat in the house first while Avis flew over to land on her shoulder. Danielle finally made her way towards a clearing and spotted Henry engaged with two furious Deinos. The little horde of Deinos have gathered by the two blind dragons to cheer on its own kind. Danielle took her spot besides Zared, who was close to Henry's side of the field.

"Do you mind if I watch from the sidelines?" she addressed her fellow coordinator. "This could be an eye opener for me and my teammates as well."

"Go ahead. It's not like I can stop you," Henry responded. It's been a long while since I've had someone watch one of my battles. This is Burrows first real fight so it'll be a little sloppy. "Alright Burrows, just like we practiced."

The Drilbur jumped up into the air and quickly spiraled down with it's claws pointing down into the ground (Rapid Spin) allowing the Pokemon to quickly dive underground (Dig). Gypsy used this as an opportune time to release a purple substance into the air and surround the two blind Deino's (Poison Powder). The big one became trapped, but the little Deino was able to dodge and began shaking the ground as magma could be seen glowing underground. Burrows noticed this and quickly changed his course straight to the surface. The mole shot out quickly above the ground to just barely avoid a deadly attack.

Unfortunately, this is exactly what the Deino's had anticipated. The big one charged forward to where the Drilbur had popped out with it's head ready to nail him (headbutt) while the other readied a blueish colored flame from it's mouth (Dragonbreath) from the other direction. The little one's attack landed head on...to the other Deino, while the big one couldn't stop and ended up nailing the tiny one a couple of feet back. Burrows was floating in mid-air with a surprised look on his face. He and his partner were glowing a blueish color causing in to stay afloat in the air (Confusion). Gypsy released her grip and allowed the Drilbur to land safely back onto the ground.

The two Deino became rather angry at each other for that blunder they just caused. The little one was about to attack the bigger one again, when the big one pointed out that they were still in a battle. The four readied there stance to go for another round. This time, the bigger Deino's mouth began to glow red with fire and charged right toward the bug (Fire Fang). His partner readied a blackish colored light and fired a bunch of black rings straight at the Drilbur (Dark Pulse).

"Metal Claw." Henry ordered the Drilbur. The Drilbur's claws began to glow (metal claw) and he held them out guarding against the rings headed towards him. While it still hurt, the claws seemed to deflect off some of the strong attack. "Now aim for the bigger one." The Drilbur charged forward and nailed the Deino on the side. This caused the Deino to halt and try to regain his balance, but was quickly hit by some flash of light (Disable). He tried summoning the fire back, but it didn't seem to be working.

The two Deino started to become frustrated. They certainly underestimated their opponent, but this was certainly far from over. The big Deino started to yelling something at the little one in his own language giving time for Henry to think of his next move.

While the match was taking place, Zared was cheering both sides on enthusiastically as he waved his arms this way and that; his second mouth was also snapping every once in a while. Soon, it became a bit too loud and Danielle had to poke his head to get his attention. When Danielle put a finger to her lips, Zared instantly understood and began jumping side to side in place of his shouting. A few occasional cries could still be heard, but they were not as loud as they were before.

Danielle and Avis' attention were drawn back to the battlefield when the smaller Deino released a Dark Pulse that was aimed at Henry's Drilbur. Unlike Avis' previous attempts with this move, this Deino's attack was a lot stronger and controlled and the small dragon didn't seem to have that crazed expression afterwards. Although one couldn't tell that by looking at the Deino's eyes (since they are covered by its pitch-black fur), its battle stance indicated that the Deino hasn't succumbed to the dark thoughts that imbue this move. In fact, it seemed perfectly normal even after the little argument with its teammate. Danielle and Avis glanced at one another. 'Can the secret to controlling Dark Pulse lie in their bond? Or maybe it's something more simple, like a key word to trigger Dark Pulse?' They both continued to watch Gypsy and Burrows tackle on the now consulting Deinos.

Turbo and Tses

The Gible’s immediately split up to avoid being hit. Most of them took cover except two. They dodged the water gun and were surprised by the gust attack. One of them went underground to make its way to the Slowpoke and came back up from under the water type.

The other one was blown away a little but recovered quickly and fired a Dragon Rage at Jet.

Elf and Azery

The Goodra’s were enjoying Claude’s hugs when some of them saw James nearby. They walked over and covered him in their goo as well.

((I’ll give you the chance to interact first. That might be better than what I planned at first xD))

Zephyr

Lana mused. She wasn’t sure what she wanted to do either. She looked around in silence and noticed Litwick drifting off. “Uhm, Raiza, Lucifer is going to the caves on his own.”

((I’m going to lead you to Kage))

ExLink

The Tangrowth didn’t react to Slade. Instead the leaves behind him made cracking noises and when he turned around he could see a large man. His shadow fell over his team member but on first sight that one was also male yet the latter had a much frailer build. Both of them wore the standard Team Rocket uniform.

“Hello Slade, we’ve been monitoring you,” the frail one said with a feminine voice. It certainly didn’t fit her built but she was used people thought she was a man at first.

“Hurry up! We don’t have all day!” the tall man’s voice was much deeper.

The female hissed at him. “Shut up! We need to explain first or else he won’t join!” She turned back to Slade. “We’re members of Team Rocket and our scouting program picked you up. We’re currently rebuilding and will come back stronger than ever and we can use someone like you. We saw your battles, Slade. You’re the type of guy who pushes his Pokémon beyond their limits just to win. You might not realize this yet but your battle style doesn’t lie. You want power, don’t you? So what do you say? Care to join us?”

Murdoc

The Celebi ate the berry and nudged against Kage. It was such a familiar feeling even though technically they just met, at least according to the boy. “Bii” the small Pokémon said before falling asleep.

Ryan let out a hearty laugh that continued until even after Sissy and Robert got out of the trap. He flew over to the few Gibles who escape the attacks and gave them each high fives. "That was impressive guys!"

"This has got to be a hallucination..."James thought to himself as he was quite literally getting hugged to death by these Goodra's.He tried to turn his head but the only thing he saw was another group of Goodra's hugging someone else..wait was that Claude?"Hey Claude, how'd you get stuck in this bear hug...and how do you get out of it"James muttered the last part as to not upset the Goodra's.

Claude was still laughing, though his reaction was now bordering on mad, as he continued to let out signals of mirth from his vocal chords. "You never escape the Goo! Never!" He continued to roll around with the mini slimeballs, enjoying himself thoroughly. Doux simply floated above, watching the gentle carnage unfold.

"Oh sweet Mew"James shouted out as his clothes were completely filled with goo along with nearly every other parth of his body."This has got to be a nightmare.....might aswell sleep right through it"James thought as he tried to relax himself into a slumber only to be pushed awake by one of the goomy's jumping on his face"Gah,get off!"He screamed trying to get the little slug off with little success.

"Quick, Jet, launch a Gust upward and use it to dive straight down!" Doing so, the extra wind-gust helped his already Noibat-given speed, pushing him down fast enough to avoid the attack. "Okay, I guess it's 2 versus 2. Jet, try and get in close with a Wing Attack." Jetstream quickly changed from straight down to angling towards the Gible, wings glowing for the attack.

Slade put head back on his neck and faced the members, his fedora blocking his eyes, "I admit that I may have pushed my pokemon too hard, maybe even endangered their lives," Slade then looked up with fiery eyes filled with anger, "But what makes you think I'd join Team Rocket, even if I wanted to why'd I join a team that broke twice by mere kids!" Slade said angrily. Sasuke then went in front of his new trainer in order to guard him and was ready to battle if necessary. Slade would've never thought team rocket would want him to join and he wasn't going to just leave the school either.

The quick break ended and both sides were ready to battle. The two Deinos were now done playing around and weren't going to hold back now. The bigger Deino charge forward and gripped its teeth down on the Drilbur (Bite). The Drilbur's claws began to glow again, but instead of directly attacking it, he began spinning faster and faster until the Deino finally lost its grip causing it to be nailed the glowing claws a couple of times before flying away.

The Deino's partner wasn't just standing around. He readied another black aura and aimed it at the sitting target, Burrows. Right when he was ready to fire, a Pokemon bit down on his back (Bug Bite) causing him to lose aim and hit his partner once again. He flung the Pokemon off his back right in front of him and readied a blueish fire at her.

When Burrows finished his attack, he noticed his little partner was in trouble. He decided to return the favor by scraping up a piece of mud and flinging it in Gypsy's direction (Mud Slap). The Deino was ready to hit the Venonat head on when something squishy nailed him in the face...something that tasted quite nasty. The Deino completely lost all focus and used it's paws to try and rid the awful taste in his mouth.

Gypsy used this time to hop back over to her partner and made a few bug sounds that the Drilbur seemed to understand, but was rather confused by. The Venonat knew that everything the threw at the two dragon still wasn't enough. The Drilbur used its two claws to pick up the Venonat. The bug was a lot heavier than he expected, but somehow managed to do so. With almost all his might, he swung around once more spinning faster and faster until finally releasing the purple fluffy canonball onto his target.

Meanwhile, the Deino finally cleaned his mouth out when something out of nowhere nailed him very hard. Gypsy picked herself up and noticed the Pokemon couldn't withstand the hit. The attack may have hurt her pretty badly, but it was nothing compared to the Deino. She was about to help her partner when a loud noise launched her right out of the battlefield (Roar). Even after that devestating blow, the Deino still managed to stand back up. Henry was about to call Zuko over when the orniary little Togepi decided to get a closer look at the battle unintentionally replacing Gypsy in the battle.

Henry and his comrades (excluding Zuko) began to freak out. This little Togepi had zero experience in battle and stood no chance against these two powerful opponents. The Big Deino heard the new Pokemon come and new better than to underestimate his opponent no matter how weak sounding it was. He charged forward again lowering his head and ready to hit hard. The Drilbur saw this and took the blow to protect the little guy. This sent him flying to the ground only to be hid by the shaking ground beneath him (Earth Power). The Drilbur struggled to get back up, but he could take no more and was beamed into his Poke Ball.

The Big Deino was about to charge forward when something bit him in the back. He quickly threw the Venonat off and gripped him in his mouth surrounded by flames before flinging him in the air where a bunch of black ring finished him off. Like his comrade, Gypsy couldn't get up and was returned to her Poke Ball as well. The battle was pretty much over when a Deino began charging at the Togepi. With this last hit, he would prove to those Deinos that these trainers aren't as strong as they think.

Henry tried to return Paradox to her Poke Ball, but the Deino was moving too fast. In a few mere seconds, dust picked up and a loud clash could be heard. He was about to return the Togepi to his Poke Ball.

"Pi!" The Togepi sounded alright. Confused, Henry put the Poke Ball away and waited for the smoke to clear to find out what happened.

The ground beneath Slowpoke, was starting to quake, with a Gible coming out hitting the water pokemon. "Oh, no. Are you okey Sherlock?" Sissy said at her pokemon. The Slowpoke stood on its feet and nodded with his head. "Okey then, use Disable and follow it with Yawn." Slowpoke's eyes glowed for an instance, and then its mouth opened letting out small bubbles, targeting the Gible.

Avis was looking intently at the Deino that was spewing out those black rings at every chance he got. Slowly, but surely, she was able to see what the Deino was doing to keep his focus on the battle. The Deino, she noticed, was focused on a specific target before it released the Dark Pulse. Would that be the key to her success at mastering this move? Avis didn't care about the outcome of the battle; she was only interested in this little warfare because of the possibility of a Dark Pulse happening.

Danielle, however, gasped as the Roar suddenly turned the tide of events. Not only was Burrows knocked out, but the innocent Togepi was just too curious to stay away from the field before Henry had a chance to call Zuko to replace Gypsy. And now, as the Deino charged at the tiny fairy with full speed, a cloud of smoke had obscured everyone's view. Danielle shielded herself with her arm to avoid getting the dust in her eyes.

"Pi!"

Danielle put down her arm as the dust began to clear. Although she couldn't see the figures on the battlefield, the small, resounding cry from Henry's little fairy indicated that she was safe and sound, or so it seemed. 'But how is that possible? Togepi would have gone down from any attack unless...' The female coordinator looked down at Zared, who didn't look worried at all. He actually smirked at the Deino's charging for some reason. 'Unless that Deino used a dragon attack?' She thought as she looked back onto the field. 'Hopefully that is the case.'

Sure enough, the Litwick was hovering away. "Lucifer, pon!" Raiza cried out. "Sorry, Lana, I'll have to follow him... He can take care of himself, but still, pon." With that, the girl turned to follow, calling out to her Candle Pokemon every now and then, leaving Lana to decide if she would go with Raiza or not.

Jacob smiled at Mareek, relief evident on his face. "Thanks for the assist, Mareek. I love Pokemon, but I'm not about getting them all over my clothes. Unless it's for this little guy," he said, chuckling as Spitfyre breathed a little ball of fire after the Goodras had gone away. He then looked at the other Trainer, studying him for a moment. "You know, I've seen you battle. You're pretty good! So I was wondering if you had any advice about-" he began, but was cut off by a Water Pulse hitting him directly in the face and knocking him over. He sat up and blinked several times, shaking his hair out to dry it as he tried to process what had just happened. "But I... How did...?" he began before he spotted the offending Skrelp in the water.

However, the Trainer couldn't help but laugh. Of all things, a Skrelp had hit him? He shook his head and stood up, unable to believe his good fortune. "You know what? This is the perfect opportunity for me to train one of my new Pokemon!" he said excitedly, ignoring the fact that his shirt was now completely soaked. He took a Ball off his belt and threw it in the air, releasing Arete in a flash of light. The Togepi gave a happy cry and immediately ran over to her Trainer, clinging tightly to his leg with a huge smile on her face. Jacob chuckled lightly and picked up the Togepi, beaming at the little egg's enthusiasm. "Hey, Arete! You're about to have your first battle! Are you excited or what?"

"Pi! Toge-pi!" she replied excitedly. Jacob nodded.

"That's the right answer, Arete! Now let's show this Skrelp what happens when you mess with an Ymora Academy Trainer, huh?" he said as he put the Togepi down. Arete screwed her face up into the meanest game face she could, which was nothing short of adorable. "Alright, Skrelp. Let's see how you like it when someone returns fire!" The Trainer took out his Pokedex and quickly scanned Arete. Hmm... Extrasensory, Metronome, Sweet Kiss, and Charm? That can work pretty nicely, actually. But let's keep this interesting. "Arete, use Metronome!" he ordered.

Arete waved her stubby little egg arms back and forth. They began to glow with a mystical light, the pale aura casting a menacing shadow over the Togepi's face. "To... ge... pi!" she cried, releasing the built up power of the mysterious move in one huge flash of light. Jacob excitedly shielded his eyes, then looked back at his Pokemon to see her... Splashing on the shoreline. Jacob immediately facepalmed. "Alright, screw it. Use Sweet Kiss to confuse it!"

The Togepi blew a kiss toward the Skrelp, a large set of pink lips flying toward the Poison-type.

While the smoke was starting to clear, the sun started to glow a bit brighter and the area started to warm up. The little Deino was about to charge into the clouded area when a flash of fire nailed him. Exhausted from the fight earlier, this attack finished him off as he fell to the ground. The smoke finally cleared revealing a Deino rubbing his cheek and a Vulpix standing on the field ready to fight.

Henry thought about it for a moment, but figured out how Zuko got there without anyone seeing him. Seems my Pokemon are capable of fighting on their own. Using Quick Attack and Feint Attack must've just been enough to redirect the attack. I don't think it's going to be enough though as Zuko has nothing to fight this thing with. "Zuko, return. The battle's over. Both my Pokemon were KO'd meaning I lost."

Unlike his usual self, Zuko ignored the order. He stood his ground growling at the Deino. This brought back memories as he began to see the Deino slowly turn into a Bagon. He looked around at the large crowd that had gathered and then to the right and noticed a Skitty ready to attack. The same one that was always there to protect him. Zuko then snapped back to reality seeing a large smirk on the Deino's face. This battle felt exactly like the one before. The only difference was that the Skitty was no longer there to protect him, but he was not that same weak Vulpix from before.

"I get it now. You're doing this for Rosie, aren't you?" Henry could see a little tear in the Vulpix eye. "Very well. I won't hold you back. Neither to you, Paradox." He then looked at Paradox who tried her hardest to imitate Zuko's angry face despite being super excited about her first battle. It's just like it was back in Orre. Zuko...don't lose.

The Deino certainly took a number from the previous two Pokemon, he still was quite capable of battling. In fact, he wasn't even going at full power yet. He wanted to finish these last two weaklings off as soon as possible so he wasn't planning on holding back anymore. He took a deep breath and a red aura began to glow around him (focus energy).

(for some reason I'm in a mystery dungeon mood)

Zuko began by launching a couple of blasts of fire at the Deino which seemed to do very little damage. The Deino mocked the attack before charging forward and biting down on the fox. The Vulpix cried out in pain from the hard blow he just recieved. The little Togepi made a cute little face with hearts surrounding it, but it had no effect on the Deino (Charm).

There's no way to win this. Henry think! You just fought a blind Hydreigon, this should be a cakewalk. Wait, it's blind like the Hydreigon. "Paradox, Growl!" The Togepi gave a mighty, but somewhat adorable noise that caused ringing in the Deino's ears. The Deino quickly released his grip on the Vulpix to figure where that annoying sound was coming from. "Good job girl. Keep doing that and whatever that other thing your doing is." The excited little pokemon ran around circling the Deino while constantly making the same sound over and over again.

"While he's distracted, Zuko use Fire Spin." Zuko understood his trainer's order and released a fire vortex. This attack seemed to actually put a dent in the Deino this time as he growled in pain or was it frustration. The Togepi kept using the attack and didn't even notice the stone close by. This careless action caused the little Togepi to trip forcing the sound to stop.

The Deino finally located the Togepi and prepared to take it out by lowering its head once again. Once this annoying little pest was out of the way, the other one would be cake to take down. Withing inches of landing the blow, something quickly darted his way and clashed heads with the powerful dragon (Quick Attack). The Deino was surprised the Pokemon not only took on another powerful hit, but managed to remain standing. He slowly began scraping his feet on the ground to start pushing the Vulpix back.

Zuko felt the hit and he barely was able to stand, but he wasn't about to give up. While he was being pushed back, he began pushing his own back legs to retaliate. They moved faster and faster and even faster. The Deino felt himself moving backwards and was shocked. None of the other Deino could do this, but this weak creature managed to do the impossible. He thought about the human for a moment. This must be the power that these Deino's were talking about. Once Zuko picked up max speed (Quick Attack) he flew the Deino backwards. The Deino lay there for a moment, but it was more mere shock than actual pain. He charged once more at the Vulpix, but this time launching him backwards and knocking him down for good.

The Deino was about to celebrate his victory when a pinkish light nailed him on the side (Metronome/Moonblast). He then remembered that annoying weak creature was still on the field. The attack hurt quite a lot actually convincing him that this little mon needed a lesson. He readied one last Headbutt to finally end this battle once and for all. The Togepi now had a serious angry face on her. She wasn't going to let this mean bully hurt any of her friends.

Zuko looked over and noticed the Deino's next move. The battle ended exactly as before. He remember seeing the Bagon nailing the Skitty attack after attack, but there was nothing he could do just like now. No, he had to do something. The Vulpix picked itself up and fired one more spurt of fire from its mouth (ember) and quickly dashed towards the Deino. Smoke from the fire attack caused Henry to be blind from what happened next.

When the smoke cleared, a cowering Togepi could be seen with a Deino right behind him as he apparently missed his target. All the Deino could remember is being nailed by something which must've shifted him a smidge. He was about to attack when he suddenly collapsed, but how. The Deino then remembered the purple powder he was hit by earlier. His cockiness ultimately cost him his victory.

The Togepi ran over to Zuko, who was laying on the ground close by poking him gently. He looked at the Togepi with a smile on his face. He pushed himself way beyond his limit, but he didn't care what price he had to pay. He was just happy he could do the one thing he regretted not being able to all that time ago. Henry then ran over to his fallen Pokemon simply whispering, "You idiot. You scarred me to death. It's funny to see how much you've changed since I first met you. You were afraid of getting hit and ran away in our first battle together. Anyways, let's get you and the others quickly healed up."

Henry pulled out some super potions and began spraying all of the injured Pokemon. He even gave the poisoned Deino a Pecha Berry Henry had hidden much to Gypsy's disapproval. The little Deino became curious and moved around looking for another one of these trainers while the big Deino looked at Henry almost as if he wanted to join him on his journey.

"Sorry, but my squad is full with one extra. I can't add anyone else. Don't worry though. You'll find someone, maybe someone better fit than me even." Henry felt kind of bad, but he knew it he couldn't handle five, especially with how poorly behaved this four were.

The Deino gave a nod trusting his words. These trainers were quite intriguing. He would be willing to wait a lifetime to find a trainer who strong like that one to take him in. He then walked off quickly joining in with the other Deino.

Tacos

This flying human seemed like he was fun to play with. The little Dragons gave each other a mischievous glare before all of them started to chase after Ryan, trying to grab him.

Turbo and Tses

Sissy’s and Robert’s teamwork wasn’t working and their opponents grabbed the opportunity. The bigger Gible, a male who was facing Jet, opened his big jaws and managed to Bite straight into Jet’s wing and refused to let go.

The smaller one, a fast female, wasn’t able to dive into the ground anymore but managed to dodge the Yawn attack. She gained some distance and fired a Dragon Rage towards her opponent.

Elf and Azery

The adults dragons were satisfied with the amount of hugging they managed to do in the last two days. They went back to their nests and left the little ones in good care. Or so they thought. It didn’t take long before the neighbors from the grassland nearby come. An entire group of Arbok and Ekans slithered around. They tried to expand their territory to gain some more influence in the area and over Pokémon that had to cross their land in order to drink. They quickly intimidated the small dragons, abusing their peaceful and friendly nature, and started to make hissing sounds. The Goomies quickly retreated behind the legs of both humans.

Zephyr and Murdoc

Lana decided to follow after Raiza and Lucifer. The Litwick led them through a cave and a natural staircase. At the other end they found a flustered Kage and his Pokémon.

Celebi noticed other presences coming up and quickly retreated behind a rock formation. The little time traveler was concerned about Kage and wondered if he would tell the two females about the vision he just saw.

ExLink

The big Team Rocket member moved his hand towards his belt and grabbed something that looked like an old Pokédex. “Tangrowth here to report; we made contact and everything goes as predicted. The target initially refused so we need some more time.”

“Roger that. Get back to me when you have the results.”

Both members stared at Slade for a few seconds. Neither of them showed any indication of removing their hoods or scarfs that covered their faces. Suddenly the female spoke up. “We weren’t beaten by mere kids… Giovanni disbanded our team because the kid convinced him he was on the wrong path. He said the kid remembered him how he used to be. Not that it matters because that kid was powerful and given time he surely would’ve been able to stop us. He’s one of a kind that has natural battle talents and rose to the top in no time. And that’s exactly why we need young trainers like you. You share our battle style and we are powerful enough to raise you to hold your ground. We have people in our ranks that can rival the Elite Four and even the Champion of every Region. They are lurking in the shadows until the right time comes. And you don’t want to be at the wrong side, Slade. Didn’t you run away from home to become a powerful trainer? We offer you that chance. Don’t you want to show the world what you can do?”

Jory and Mareek

Skrelp was caught off guard. The poison type underestimated the Togepi, especially when it started to Splash around, and didn’t pay any attention to the incoming attack. The world started to sway and so did the Togepi and its trainer. First it was left, than right, then left again and it confused the Skrelp. The future dragon type released Water Pulses at the same pace, from left to right and left again, completely missing the Togepi and giving it a free shot.

DarkLight and Commander

The little Deino didn’t pay any attention to where he was walking and bumped into Danielle. Curious as to why his way was blocked, he started to sniff the young coordinator.

A delighted Litwick, sidetracked from his mission by his hunger (or, knowing Lucifer, he probably was looking for food the whole time) approached Kage for some deliciously sweet life force. He prodded the depths of Kage's soul... what? It tasted a bit sour, now. The honeyed taste was still there, yes, but it had soured to an extent...

"Lucifer, really-- oh, Kage!" Raiza cried out. "Didn't know you were here, pon." It was only after a few seconds that she realized how grim the boy looked. "Something wrong?"

'Dang it, of course it would bite down. At the very least it can't be as devistating as a Dragon Rage.' Jet was doing his best to endure the pain, atleast glad that the Wing Attack did some damage due to hitting inside it's jaw. Right then, it struck him as to where the Bite put Jet. "Quick, let loose a Screech right in it's ear!" With that, Jet let loose a high-pitched screech, attempting to use the forced close range to it's advantage as well as 'surprise' the Gible into opening it's jaw.

"Great. Now what?" Sissy said, trying to figure out a way to stop that Dragon Rage. "Sherlock use confusion to send that Dragon Rage back at the Gible." The Slowpoke's eyes started glowing, and in seconds the Dragon Rage was glowing too. The dragon attack was forced to change direction and headed back at the attacker.

"Robert we might need to cooperate in here." She said looking at the boy. "Both Sherlock and Jet were hit by their attacks, while we barely made any impact."

"Really?" Mareek sighed as Erce flew back over and landed at his side. "Did you seriously just do what I saw you do?"

The Mantis nodded mischievously. Her trainer gave out another sigh, looking over at Claude as the guy went crazy with laughter at the Goodra's embracing him. Looks like he and Erce had gotten the exact same idea a few moments ago; except she hadn't shot it down like he had... well, the guy seemed to be enjoying it, so no harm no foul, right?

"That was cheating, you know..." Mareek said to her after looking on a little longer. Erce didn't seem to care that it was, her primary objective had been more than achieved; keep those gooey things away from her. Mareek's attention was taken away from the Scyther, however, when Jory spoke up and thanked him before being hit with a water pulse, getting into a battle with the Skrelp who had apparently fired it. Mareek and Erce said nothing as they watched the first few rounds... because all the while he was busy collecting intel on Jacob's Battle Style, noting how he had chosen Togepi for this brawl...

Somewhat disappointed that the Goodra had left, Claude continued to play until at some point the wild poison snakes appeared. The Goomies seemed rather scared, but Claude didn't want to provoke the pokemon. Instead, he looked around for some berries to harvest, and found a few oran berries. After harvesting a handful, he showed them t the snakes, then immediately threw the berries far back where the snakes had came from, hoping to lure them all back.

"HOW DO YOU KNOW ANYTHING ABOUT MY REASONS FOR RUNNING AWAY!" Slade yelled at the two. That was a very touchy subject for Slade and they went one of the worst possible ways to speak about it, "I ran away not to become strong, not to become a trainer, I ran away because everyone in my town abandoned me! Before I met Flare I was 'accepted' or 'socially in' and right when I started to befriend Flare everyone hated me. Mocking, bullying, even my own parents wanted me to get rid of Flare when word got around to them. Their social standing was more important then THEIR OWN SON! So one day I deiced to leave that city, took what was important to me and got a job before then to have good enough money to live off of for a while. Hell the only reason I decided to become a trainer is because that's what Flare wanted to. Now you're saying, 'I came out to be a powerful trainer'? HA! Don't make me laugh!" Sasuke was still protecting Slade from the three assuming that the tangrowth was on their side. Though in his mind he was surpassed to hear about his new trainer's life before catching him.

Jacob grinned, then panic overcame his face as he ducked to avoid a stray Water Pulse. "Alright, that does it! Arete, use Extrasensory on this little prankster!" he ordered, a touch of anger beginning to enter his voice. I frickin' hate getting wet with clothes on! he thought to himself.

Arete looked toward the Skrelp and began to concentrate hard. Her eyes and little finger nubs began to glow yellow. Finally, she released a rainbow-hued beam of Psychic energy toward the would-be Dragon-type, hoping to hit it hard.

Turbo and Tses

The screech startled the Gible and released his Bite attack. Not far from them the female that was going against the Slowpoke was forced to dodge her own attack, bringing the two Gible’s next to each other. This time the male dived into the ground and popped up behind Sherlock, releasing his own Dragon Rage attack.

The female, who was faster, went after Jet. She created a sandstorm and became even faster before jumping towards Jet to Slash the flying type.

Elf and Azery

Claude’s plan failed. A few of the weak Ekans went after the berries but the strong Arbok’s remained where they were, raising their heads and hissing in anger.

The scarfs were hiding the grins on both agents’ faces. If Slade gave in to his anger it might be even easier to convince him. Unfortunately they didn’t have all data on his backstory so they had no idea he left because his parents couldn’t stand a fire type. The female was first to recover from that piece of vital information. “You might feel that everyone abandoned you and you have every right to be mad. I would be if I was in your situation. But what did you achieve by just running away? If you stay powerless you can’t change anything. We, Team Rocket, will gain power and change the world how we see fit. No more bullshit about people being abandoned based on the type of their Pokémon.” She smirked again and this time her scarf moved along. “Don’t you want to prove your hometown, your friends and most of all your parents wrong? Don’t you want to show them how strong you and Flare can become? All you need is power… I told you before, Slade, you might not realize it, but you walk the same path as us. You want to change things so no one else has to experience something like you’ve been through. Subconsciously you’re seeking power!”

Jory and Mareek

The Extrasensory attack hit, doing a lot of damage, and made Skrelp snap out of its confusion. It started to get angry as well and released a poisonous substance at the Togepi. (Acid)
