Danielle grinned and wrapped her arms around his waist. "I'm sorry as well. I shouldn't have joked around when you were in the dumps. I won't do it again~" Devin then started to make the announcements for the upcoming events. When Danielle heard the words "Madame Plumeau" she gasped; this was a very pleasant surprise. Madame Plumeau was an inspiration to her! She and Avis used to sit together on the couch to watch her dazzle the crowds. She then saw her two landed Pokemon running towards the food; poor Avis was left to listen to the professor before she could grab a bite. And it looks like Jacob had ran off too... 'So much for warning him. In all due time then~' Turning her attention back towards Slade, she nuzzled him gently and nodded towards the pizza and the Professor. "Looks like Professor Cadmus has some exciting news for us and food is served. Shall we go and make up over pizza?"

Danielle was also watching the battle between Jacob and Mareek as she sat next to Slade. Unlike her boyfriend, she was obviously cheering for Jacob, since she doesn't know his opponent too well. Her three Pokemon were also nearby. Corona was on her head; Avis in the air; and Zared was right beside her.

Henry watched the Phanpy jump out of the way. It was Ryan's words that he was more focused. His mind now shifted towards the battle. "There's something I want you to understand..." Suddenly, the Drilbur lowered its claws while and shoved a landslide of dirt at the opponents side and the ice attack. During this time, the Drilbur suddenly vanished. "I'm not like the other coordinators."

"Well let me tell you, your tactics are as stale as the next guy. I didn't need to see what your Drilbur was doing to know that he's used Dig. It's not like that's what they're known for or anything. Shake him up with a Bulldoze, Delilah!" Delilah tensed her body before unleashing a rumbling quake into the battlefield, reaching down underneath the field as well.

Henry couldn't help but smile. His opponent did exactly what he wanted. Secretly, he ordered to Metal Claw to not only to significantly reduce the damage from the ice shards, but to sharpen his Pokemon's claws. And yes, the Pokemon did dig underground, but he missed seeing him use Rapid Spin shortly after. The Drilbur rushed down underground and began to take aim at the Phanpy.

Right when the ground began to shake, a spinning torpedo shot up from the ground directly. The Bulldoze did hurt the Drilbur a tiny bit, but most of the damage was shaken off by the high speed this pokemon was moving. Besides, this move wasn't nearly as strong as dangerous as the Earth Power from his fight from yesterday. Better yet, the opponent trapped themselves from escaping. He struggled to stay standing from the Bulldoze so he doubted the Phanpy could move out of the way. Henry awaited to see what would happen to his opponent.

The impact from the arising Drilbur shocked Delilah. She flew up about 4-5 feet in the air. But as she descended, her underside began to glow a grayish-blue. Delilah descended rapidly towards Drilbur, a sudden gain in weight increasing her momentum. Upon collision, a puff of dust shrouded the battlefield. "You see, while you were deceitfully clever with that move, you gave Delilah the chance to make use of her significantly greater weight. You see, your Drilbur is a good 60 pounds lighter than Delilah. Which means that the damage caused from a perfectly hit attack falls under the second highest power variant for a Heavy Slam. So when the dust settle, let's see how well he took it."

Jacob looked over at Mareek, his heart pounding. His team almost completely counters mine, and to top it off he's one of the best strategists in the entire class. This is going to be our toughest match yet, he thought to himself. He looked down at his belt, thinking hard about his choices. Since he's leading with his Cubone, he'll definitely be expecting me to send in Chalchi. She could finish that thing off with one or two good hits, so he obviously has a counter strategy in mind. Even if I manage to bring that down I'll have his Porygon to contend with, which knows some killer special attacks that I don't really have any answer to. And then he has that Scyther. I have no idea what to do about that. He picked Chalchi's ball off his belt, contemplating his choice. I could send in Arete, but against that Cubone she'll have a rough time of it. Eventually, Jacob sighed. I guess I don't really have a choice.

He threw the Capsuled ball in the air, releasing his Lapras in a shower of snowflakes and mist. "Okay, Mareek. I guess I'll take the first move." He paused for a moment, taking a deep breath. Clear your mind. Only battling. "Chalchi, use Water Pulse Burst!" The Lapras complied, forming one blue sphere and firing it at the Cubone, then doing it again in rapid succession, this one fired on a lower trajectory.

After shoving the Phanpy into the air from it's previous attack, the Drilbur bounced right off the Phanpy and crashed to the ground. He heard his trainer yell, "Metal Claw!" Hearing the order, he shoved his now glowing claws into the ground and pushing himself away from the falling titan and towards his trainer. "Mud Slap," then ordered the trainer. The Drilbur turned around and used it's claw to throw a stream of mud at the smoking area.

Bloody hell. The cards are stacked against me. Not only do his Pokemon have the advantage over mine, but it seems like they have a bit of coverage as well. Well, at least everyone will be happy that a smart mouthed kid...hehehe. "You really should shut your mouth. Every time I do any attack, you simply badmouth or downplay everything I've done. I mean you already have the advantage on me, so please just shut up and keep that whiny girl attitude to yourself."

"Girl attitude? Please. The way I see it, is that a battle is between trainers and their Pokemon. What fun is it if a trainer is just barking orders and making the Pokemon do all the work. Sure I may be acting rude, but I'm just having some fun with a tactic I picked up from a certain redhead with a poor attitude. Be as rude as you want to me. Trust me, after what I've been through recently, your words won't harm me anyway. Whatever, the smokes beginning to fade." Ryan made a gesture to the gradually thinning cloud of dust that had been lingering on the field.

A blue, spherical light was glowing through the smoke just seconds before a speedy Delilah flew out of the dust, leaving wisps of dust trailing behind her. Her speed was incredible for something of her size. She rolled incredibly close to the Drilbur, attempting to slam into it while launching crystalized shards in a 360 degrees spin from her rolling. And quite a few were coming towards Drilbur at the same speed as Delilah.

The Drilbur's claws glowed once again, but this time he held them close against himself. He watched the blue shards crash into his claws which hurt a little bit, but he held strong. Next came a rolling Phanpy who collided with the Drilbur. Burrows slowly felt himself being pushed back. As a last resort, he moved one of his arms so that the claw was scratching the Phanpy as it rolled.

"Bold words..." for a kid who's going to die soon. "However, I'm not going to stoop to your level. Outside of battle, I am what you'd call an ass, but once I step onto the battlefield, I will always leave my thoughts in my head. I battle because I want to see how trainers fight, not this worthless taunting you call fun. I don't care what you do, but I'll be one of those trainers barking orders only because I at least want to try and look professional."

Right after Henry finished, Burrows's claws gave out and he was hammered in the face causing him to knock out. The dust kicked up from the collision and Henry was unsure what had happened to the Phanpy.

“Sure, I want to see Mareek battle,” Lana responded. To be honest she worried a little about him ever since he accidentally revealed his brother used to work for Team Rocket. She sought out a good spot and sat down next to Evan.

The boy was still shaken up from yesterday and Devin wasn’t allowing him to battle today. Needless to say that Evan was grumpy and still in pain. It didn’t help that the damn Skarmory was following his every step, even when he went to the bathroom this morning.

"Bonemerang," Mareek ordered in Japanese as the blasts of water came at Nemo. The cubone saw what his Trainer intended and obeyed quickly, winding back his arm in an arc and sending his club hurtling through the air, colliding with the first Sphere of water and causing it to burst prematurely before arcing back around in it's flight path and intercepting the second sphere as well. He looked back up at Mareek as the Club finally returned to his hand.

You're so lucky this isn't doubles, Jacob... He thought to himself. Your Chalachi was one of the main threats I developed our Ancient Lightning Technique to take care of... He looked down at Nemo. He'll probably use an Ice Field tactic similar to the one I caught a glimpse of him using against the Donphans, thinking that it will impede Nemo's combat ability... alright, go on, Jacob... prove me right. "Go on the defensive," was the only other Japanese order he gave the Cubone. The orphan nodded, facing Jacob and Chalachi again, bracing itself for the worst and focusing on his opponent...

((From this point forward, every command he gives his Team in this fight will be in Japanese. If he speaks to Jacob at any point during it, then it means he will have broken back into english momentarily in order to do it.))

Mareek? "Oh sure. Is he a friend of yours?" Evidently Raiza hadn't heard of him. Maybe she had, but probably couldn't recall the name. This time Achlyx was out; her Trainer wanted to bond with the Poison-Bug type as much as possible. At the very least, she wasn't as standoffish as before.

Zephyr

“He is. He’s the trainer with the Cubone,” she stated the obvious just in case Raiza didn’t know Jacob either.

The Skarmory titled her head and stared at the two girls. What’s this? New friends? She came over and placed herself between the two childhood friends. “Skaaaarrrr,” she said in her element. Evan face palmed. Out all the Pokémon they could possible give him; he was stuck with an attention loving Skarmory. How was he supposed to keep a low profile with something like that?

Ryan let out a small grin when he saw that Burrows had been defeated. He intensely stared at the dust cloud. It faded away to reveal a scratched Phanpy still standing. "Phew. That early Defense Curl probably got her through that one. Nice job on your Drilbur's part, he had Delilah and I on our toes." Delilah released a weak "toot" from her trunk before staring at Henry. "I think she's trying to say she's ready when you are, Henry."

Jacob grinned, his excitement surpassing his dismay at the Cubone's ability to somehow hit through a type disadvantage. "This is the first time I've been challenged in awhile, Mareek. I look forward to it." Lucky for me, he's not the only one who's prepared for this moment. He smiled agian. "Luckily you're not the only bilingual person at the Academy, Mareek. If you're going to use trickery, then I'll have to follow suit." He then barked in Spanish, "Chalchi, Confuse Ray!" The Lapras's eyes glowed an eerie green color as a strange light show began directly in front of the Cubone.

Nemo began to get a bit wobbly as the light show began around, teetering a little as he struggled to resist.

Gonna use a clearly light based attack like that, eh? Well, if he can't see it... "Close your eyes and then use Ancient Power's light to block it out," Mareek ordered, recognizing the Confuse Ray even despite Jacob's copying him and switching to a foreign language; There was no mistaking what a light show like that could've been. "If you shut your eye lids and stop the light from filtering through, then the ray can't do anything to your head." Nemo could barely grasp the idea as his head swam a little more, so he just tried to focus on the first two things he had heard, 1:Close eyes, 2: use Ancient Power.

The Cubone snapped his eyes shut and placed one hand over them for extra protection, feeling a bit better immediately after, while holding up his club and beginning to glow with a silvery light all his own. A sphere of matching color materialized before him, effectively cancelling out Chalachi's attack as the light he was generating from his own move overpowered that which had been conjured in front of him by the Lapras. Both the the light from Confuse Ray and Ancient power faded and he opened them as the boy addressed him again.

"If you see the green glow again," he began. "Then don't even think, cover your eyes, immediately, understand?" Then to Jory in english "I'm not a five year old, you know? It's not exactly rocket science that a Move like confuse ray relies on the target's sight of it in order to function. And nice copying me right there, going with another language in order to give orders, truly, how original of you, Jacob..." As he spoke though, his mind was evaluating the situation. The chance's of Nemo winning this with such a huge type disadvantage is pretty low overall; But I honestly don't care whether he wins or loses this anyway, All I want out of this is a 1 to 1 fight trial run where I can see how well he handles things in an actual fight setting and what needs to be worked on, given how I found him along with that Swellow yesterday... so far it looks as though He's doing better than hoped for though... but let's see if he can keep up the pace.

Jacob grinned at Mareek's apparent anger. "Sorry to disappoint you Mareek, but it doesn't exactly take a genius to figure out your strategies. Looks like I vastly overestimated you." He then switched fluidly to ordering his Pokemon. "Chalchi, keep Confuse Ray going and then follow it up with a Water Pulse one more time!"

The Lapras obeyed, her eyes continuing to glow green as the light show continued directly in front of the Cubone. Then, a blue orb shot out of the Lapras's mouth toward the Cubone. He would have to choose between closing his eyes and avoiding the attack.

"You say you've overestimated me?" Mareek asked calmly. "Alright, your problem, I don't give a damn honestly. but arrogance bites, just remember that." He turned to Nemo, knowing the exact move he was going to order. He could've used it a few moments before, but had figured he should probably save it for a situation like this. An avoidance and Direct hit technique should work, though he knew full well that there was no way Nemo would be able to avoid anything at close range; it would be lights out for the ground type.

Though a moment ago he felt he needed to see more, it was obvious that Nemo wasn't going to choke up or anything. The trial was done; He felt that it wouldn't be too hard on the Cubone to actually battle on his own, and knowing this, he would be able to move forward from there without worrying. But the fact was that the orphan simply wasn't strong enough nor had been worked with enough to be able to come out on top in this right now.

"Detect!" he ordered the Cubone before it could close it's eyes, knowing it would get him out of the situation. Nemo lowered his hand and his eyes glowed a dull blue as he hopped forward and dived to the ground, effectively putting him out of the path of the Water Pulse and out of view of the Light show as it was now behind him rather than in his face.

"Everything I do has a reason," he continued speaking to Jory, quite coldly. "What if I told you that this whole time, I had no strategy, but just wanted to Make sure my team member would be alright with being in an actual battle because I was worried about him? That winning isn't the priority for me? Because I've gotten all the assurance I was looking for from this fight." Then he returned his attention to Nemo, actually speaking in english instead of Japanese. "You've done fine, buddy, but it's time to end this, the odds aren't very strong in our favor, I haven't worked with you enough to overcome a disadvantage like this...don't feel bad about it. let's go out with a bang now; Use bone rush." Nemo looked back and forth between Chalachi and the boy... then just shrugged. Mareek obviously had something planned about all of this; he didn't know what it was, but he trusted his trainer, had trusted him since the swellow encounter when they'd met and so far had been proven to have not misplaced any of it in him. He was no fool though, if that lapras used a water pulse at how close a range he would have to get, it would be it for him... but so long as it had a purpose...

Going purely on faith in some untold plan, Nemo held his Club out like a sword. A blue light surrounded it, then the light extended and took the form of a long, slender bone as he gripped it firmly. The next moment he was rushing off towards The Lapras at the other end of the field, bracing himself for the impact of the water pulse he knew was most likely coming...

Jacob grinned, knowing the battle was won. "What if I told you I'm not an arrogant prick like you seem to think of me, and that I was distracting you from seeing the real issue?" He then looked back to Chalchi, and in English shouted, "Freeze Dry the water you've been laying out this whole time! Once that Cubone slips, give him a Water Pulse Burst!"

A pale mist emanated from the Lapras and she cried out, flash-freezing the wet-battlefield that the Cubone was attempting to run across. She then fired a Water Pulse pre-emptively along the Cubone's trajectory, readying another to be fired.

Henry sighed a bit. With the fight looking like this, there was no point in really trying. "Zuko, come out. Do whatever you want." A Vulpix came out of the Poke Ball and looked back at his trainer for a moment. He recognized that as Henry's infamous attitude. Whenever he knew he was going to win or lose, he simply would watch from the background. Zuko liked these kinds of battles because he always had the chance to prove himself.

The Vulpix quickly picked up its movements rushing at a very fast speed towards the Phanpy (Quick Attack) and readied a fire from it's mouth to fire at the foe just when things we're starting to heat up outside (Drought). When he was a mere few inches away, he launched the fire from his mouth (ember) and kept running around readying another just in case.

Nemo knew it... well, sort of. The ice field wasn't expected, but what followed was it exactly. A burst of water, and the cubone was sent skidding back on the ice before he ever got close, the Orphan coming to a halt only when Mareek took out his capsule and recalled him for a rest. The trainer replaced the ball on his belt as he surveyed the icy field in it's entirety, shaking his head for a moment.

Look at that, I was right... the guy actually went and used the Ice Field Tactic, exactly like I expected. OH well, best to let him think he's got me off guard... not! He showed no expression on his face as he took out Java's Ball, expanding it in his hand and already knowing the orders he would use... quite evil of him, but his opponent had honestly walked right into this. I wonder if he knows that Ice will melt when exposed to electricity? "Now... that's done," he said to Jory. "So now is when I really start fighting like hell, and by the way..."

He depressed the trigger and sent out the Porygon. The Co Strategist saw the frozen field... and Chalachi on the other end. And knew exactly what his trainer was plotting. He preemptively began charging up the shock... "This Ice Field isn't my issue..." The sound of crackles was beginning to come from his Porygon...

"It's yours!!!" He said, turning to Java immediately afterwards and breaking back into his Battle Language. "Discharge, as powerful as you can make it! even more powerful than with that Swellow incident, Hit everywhere!"

The Porygon started to take on a bright yellow glow as it unleashed the charge, sending tendrils of electricity in every direction, many of them arcing right towards Chalachi... while at the same time many arced along the ice coating the ground. making it's way across the field as the stuff melted back into a thin layer of water, lighting it up and crackling it's way along the H2O covered ground right towards the Lapras right along with the airborn arcs...

"I told you to be rude to me, not to your Pokemon! Don't just give up on a fight like that. No one on any side is going to be happy with that sort of outcome." Ryan was disappointed in Henry. He knew he could be a grade A jerk when he wanted to be, but giving up on your own Pokemon is something else.

Delilah was shocked that Zuko was able to rush up on her like that. Out of instinct, she tensed herself as a blue-green aura surrounded her (Endure.) The ember melted away at the aura until Delilah sat gasping for air. "No time to lose Delilah! Bulldoze!" Delilah looked at Ryan before digging her legs into the ground and letting loose a deep rumble. She was incredibly persistent, refusing to end the attack until she would inevitably faint.

The sudden rise in temperature made Avis, the black-feathered bird, groan in frustration as she flew back down to Danielle. Avis wanted to see everything from above, but that Drought would cause her to overheat if she continued to stay up. That would not be good if Danielle decided to send her into battle. The black bird peered wistfully at Corona, who was basking in the extreme sunlight, as she sat in the space between Zared's body and his horn.

Danielle looked up at the sun above her, remembering how the same thing had happened the first time she battled Jacob. She turned her head to see Henry and Ryan's battlefield, dully noting that Zuko and Delilah were on the field. 'Zuko and Drought. Makes sense.' Danielle turned her attention back to Jacob and Mareek's duel, trying to remain calm and steel herself for her upcoming match.

Zuko saw the ground type move coming from a mile away. He used the Phanpy as a platform using it's speed to jump high into the air. The fire in his mouth was finally full and he began launching the spinning fire at the Phanpy attempting to stay in the air a bit longer (fire spin). Eventually he fell to the ground when the bulldoze was pretty much finished. He was ready for the opponent to try something else fishy and began preparing another fire in its mouth.

"I'm not being rude to them. The odds are against me so I'd rather take the loss learning something than win by pushing my Pokemon overboard. I could've ordered my Drilbur to dodge that Rollout, but I'd rather test to see how well he could endure the attack at this state. The same applies to giving orders. Zuko's not going to win so I'd rather see what he has down and what he needs to work on. If winning was my only goal in battles, I wouldn't even be able to do half the things I usually such as not having to give Zuko orders all the time." Henry wasn't even bothered by what Ryan had said to him. He and his Pokemon had an unusual relationship, but it was one that worked and it worked well for them.
