Doux was sent back by the remnants of the gust attack that had pushed through the shimmering winds and Doux was now very tired. "That was fantastic Doux, but we have to keep going. That was a great effort on your part Robert" Claude said to his opponent.

[TurboAura]

"Thank you." He had put a grin on his face, doing his best to be sincere. 'He's using great skill. I'm at a disadvantage. And doubting myself is only gonna make this worse. Okay, think about who's next. Nikki is obviously bad in this situation, and Voltage, if not a bad idea now, is likely at a loss for whatever he brings in, especially if it's that Tyrunt. So that leaves one choice.'

With that, he sent out Kiai, who felt the stress emanating off of Robert, turning to look at him. "I'm fine, Kiai. Focus on the battle, okay?" Reluctantly, Kiai nodded and faced his opponent. "Okay, launch towards the Cottonee with a Quick Attack." Keeping to the ground, Kiai was sprinting at the target, ready to hit it as hard as he could.

[Jory]

Jacob cheered as Claude managed to take out the Noibat. He then turned to Slade, grinning sheepishly. "Sorry if you felt like I was ignoring you, bud. You just seemed content to sit there quietly so I didn't think anything of it." He began to look around at the other fields, sighing as he saw Ryan walk off the field that he'd battled Henry on. What'd Henry say that's got him all twisted up? If there's one person here I'd want to beat it'd be Henry and his snide attitude. He then turned his attention back to Danielle and Slade. "Hey, you two are the only ones who haven't battled yet, right?" A look of fascination began to spread across his face. "That means you're going to be against each other! Ooooooh, this is gonna be exciting!"

[Felicity]

Like a practiced Prankster, Doux was ready. as Kiai launched towards him, he released a cloud of stun spores just as the attack connected, finishing off the small fairy. Claude returned Doux, praising Doux for his hard work. "Right then, this is gonna be difficult... Come on out Colere!" Claude thought furiously, he had to be smart about this, he'd like to avoid getting in close, but Colere just couldn't fight that way. It looked like it'd be a brawl, and the most defensive pokemon would win...

[Aurorix]

"I wouldn't be too sure yet," Slade said towards Jacob, "There are still some people who haven't battled yet, but if we were to battle..." He then began pondering ways a battle between him and her could go, he wasn't too sure who would win in a situation like that. "Anyways, it would sure be an interesting fight to say the least. Great, thanks Jacob now you've got my hopes up too." Slade chuckled towards the people sitting next to him. Flare just let out a little "Yip!" after Slade finished his giggling.

[TurboAura]

'Okay, so he did send the Tyrunt out. Even if I sent Voltage and he wasn't affected by the Stun Spore... Okay, I can't just make strategies, this isn't something I can expect.' "Kiai, Force Palm the Tyrunt." Kiai charged towards the Tyrunt with a glowing orb in it's hand(Force Palm), hoping to it it full force.

[Felicity]

"Colere, Darling, how about you give Kiai a kiss?" Claude called out. Colere, who saw the Force palm coming, sidestepped it and sidled up to the Lucario, acting rather Charming when she quickly lunged in to Bite Kiais arm.

[TurboAura]

"Kiai, use your free arm to knock her off with a Force Palm." Kiai, feeling happy that his ability, Inner Focus, helped him from flinching, he began his next Force Plam. Unlucky for him, the paralysis kicked in in mid-swing. 'Oh, great. Now he can't even get out of it.'

(I used the actual RNG wheel, and it decided Paralyzed. It just so decided to be now.)

Stratos

Evan wasn’t paying any attention to what was happening around him. He was completely unaware the Skarmory was staring at Mareek and that there was a Cubone gazing at him.

“Hi Nemo, it’s nice to meet you!” Lana was in her element. She really loved ground type Pokémon and had a soft spot for the story related to Cubones. “And this is Evan,” she said pointing at the boy next to her, who was still watching the ongoing battles.

“Hmm? Did you say anything?” Evan suddenly asked. His eyes were still fixated on the battle between Claude and Robert.

Before Lana could reply the steel bird decided she wanted some spotlight. “Skaaar!” she said hopping to the middle of the group and drawing Clefairy’s attention. The fairy walked over and started chatting to the Skarmory. Their trainer failed to introduce them to each other so both Pokémon took matters into their own hands.

“Evan, when did you evolve Faith?” Lana asked surprised.

[Felicity]

"Perfect! Now, Colere, throw Kiai out of the arena now! Before he can get a good hit in!" Colere used her powerful jaws to launch Kiai by the arm out of the arena, hurling him through the air.

[TurboAura]

"Kiai, Quick Attack before it's too late!" Kiai heard Robert, but when he tried the paralysis kept him from moving back in. With that, Kiai had been flung out of the field. Robert simply sighed, knowing that there was nothing that could be have changed it. "Good game, Claude." With a slight grin on his face, he went over to Kiai, who had finally got out of the paralysis stage, wondering why Robert was walking towards him. "Well, you got thrown out buddy, we lost. But we did out best." Placing his hand out, Kiai grabbed it and got pulled back up, sad that it had ended this way.

[DarkLight]

Danielle had blushed in embarrassment as Claude clarified the origin on his nickname. After a quick apology and a "good luck," Danielle cheered for him in between Slade and Jacob, making a mental note of the connection between the two names. She clapped loudly as Jet went down. However, Kiai retaliated and had successfully knocked out the exhausted Doux, making a one on one battle now. "It looks like Claude got over his fear of rocks if he is using a Tyrunt." she said to herself.

"Hey, you two are the only ones who haven't battled yet, right? That means you're going to be against each other! Ooooooh, this is gonna be exciting!"

Danielle blushed a little when Jacob mentioned the possibility of her battling Slade. She gave a meek smile to Slade as he gave his opinion on the matter. In all honestly, Danielle was nervous, knowing fully well how strong her two best friends are. But Slade's - giggling? - made her laugh as she turned to address the two guys. "I'll have to agree with Slade here. The battle could go either way. But, there is one thing for sure. I'm not going to go easy him just because we're together~"

[Felicity]

Claude gave a whoop of Joy as he tried to scoop up the rather heavy Tyrunt. "That's how my Colere wins! Good match Robert!" Claude hopped away to the others, ecstatic with his win. "Hey guys, you can praise me now!" Claude said with a stupid grin on his face.

[Sutoratosu]

An even better question to ask him is how did he get the Metal chicken... Mareek thought to himself as Nemo, having been overshadowed by the Skarmory's and Clefairy's chatting, returned to his side. He still keep looking over at Evan though, oddly curious about the other trainer for some reason. Maybe it was because he looked a little roughed up?

"You see him, Nemo?" Mareek whispered to the orphan as he pulled him in closer. "That's the guy we were all searching for yesterday. We need to keep an eye open on him for a little while, alright?" Nemo nodded slowly, understanding the fact that it had been this boy who'd prompted the searching of the woods, yet having no inkling of exactly why his trainer wanted to surveil him. But, like with the battle not long ago, Nemo simply put faith that Mareek had a good reason for it.

"Cube," the Cubone offered quietly in concurrence, staring at the boy even more now.

"No, not literally, Nemo..." Mareek sighed quietly. "we just need to know if anything a bit... off happens." The Cubone nodded again and immediately redirected his gaze to the Skarmory and Clefairy nearby. Mareek meanwhile turned his attention back to the conversation.

"And while we're on the subject of that," he said to Evan shortly after Lana had asked about Faith. "Where did you manage to find a Skarmory of all things around here? they're pretty rare, aren't they?"

[Tses]

Once the battle finished, Sissy talked. "I couldn't expect that Jet could lose. But then again, Kiai is now a Lucario. When did that happened Robert?"

[Commander]

Henry turned around and began watching the battle that took place on the field he was just on. I'm glad that battle is over with. With all of the hell that has happened, battling is the thing I want to do the least. I still feel the pain from yesterday, but that's not on my mind. That Winter Cup seems like a pretty big deal...but I don't think I should enter it. Especially after what happened in the last tournament.

"Hey guys, you can praise me now!"

"...I actually have nothing to say really so congrats, Claude. For such a loudmouth, you really do pack quite a number of surprises." Henry remembered the last time he said something to Claude, it ended badly for him.

[Felicity]

"Yeah, I do, but you don't get to see my best surprise" Claude grinned wider at Henry, who Claude did remember had critiscised him before his fight with the snorlax. Claude was still rather ecstatic, so he doubted any harsh words could get to him.

[DarkLight]

Danielle clapped as Claude pranced back towards them. "Splendid as ever Claude the Extraordinaire! You got me curious though; what is your best surprise?"

Avis, Corona and Zared gave their respective cheers before they began to settle down. The three of them seemed to share a moment of calm as they realized that their chance to battle is drawing near. The trio decided that conserving their energy would be the best.

[Felicity]

"You got me curious though; what is your best surprise?"

"Danielle!" Claude exclaimed in faux shock, clapping his hands to his face as his mouth made an "o" of shock "My dear, is that the kind of question you should be asking with so many people present? I'm afraid, I can't show you." Claude shrugged, showing her how truly incapable he was of telling her.

[Jory]

Jacob chuckled at the Coordinators' excitement, then turned around as he felt a tap on his shoulder. He turned around to find Spitfyre and Arete looking quite anxious. "Are you guys hungry?" he asked his Pokemon gently. They both nodded enthusiastically and their Trainer got up, walking a bit away from the crowd. He released Chalchi from her ball, finding the Lapras still exhausted from her bout with Mareek. He took an Oran Berry and two Sitrus Berries out of his backpack, then handed the Oran to Arete and a Sitrus to Spitfyre. The two began to eat quickly, Spitfyre's bruises and scratches noticeably fading as he consumed the nutrient-filled fruit. Jacob walked over to Chalchi and lifted the Lapras's head, smiling at her. "You did great, Chalchi. Now eat up." He held the Berry in front of her mouth until she was done eating. The Water-type gave a satisfied cry, then curled up to take a nap. "Alright, Chalchi. I'll let you rest up." He then scooped up his Togepi and walked back over to the others.

"What's this I hear about Claude's 'big surprise'? And Claude, I swear if you take off your pants I'm running in the opposite direction."

[TurboAura]

After Kiai got up, Robert gave him the Cheri berry and they headed back to their 'little group'. Once he had gotten close enough, he heard Sissy's question about Kiai's 'new form.'

"Well, I'll tell you the short version. Basically, when we were fending off against the Donphan herd yesterday, I ended up being so 'in the moment' that I got hit with that Sing attack. Apparently, the Donphan's I was going against blocked their ears, and while I was knocked out one of them decided I was that they were gonna take me out, most likely because I was the one giving the orders. I had actually just started regaining consciousness when it was a few seconds from impact." After he ended up sending a shiver down his own spine, he continued on.

"Lucky for me, Kiai had covered his ears during the Sing and saw me in that 'condition'. So he went over to guard me, there was a flash of light, and the next thing I knew he was a Lucario Countering a Donphan." With that, he turned straight towards Kiai. "And if it wasn't for him, I'd probably be one of of the people that went to the hospital beds... Oh wait, that didn't come out right. What I mean is... yeah, Kiai helped me when it was needed most." Kiai ended up putting his paw behind his head, feeling a bit awkward for the praise. It's not any different than what a normal pokemon would do for their trainer.

Murdoc, ExLink and DarkLight

Alastair wanted to call forward Danielle and Slade when he was interrupted by Tyron. “Hey, Alastair, that Kenny kid never showed and I don’t see him. He probably went back to bed or something so I count this as a forfeit. However the other student would still like to battle so I’m taking a student with me.” He looked on Alastair’s paper and called out another student. “Slade Kafkin!? Come with me! You’re going to battle at my field!”

Slade had no option but to obey and as he followed Tyron he saw that his opponents were Kage and his Tyrunt.

Alastair sighed. Now he had to puzzle again. “Alright Danielle Chastain and Kristen Brown; please make your way to the remaining field for your battle.”

Stratos

“She evolved in the forest after my accident,” Evan replied. “I ran into a little trouble with wild Pokémon and she protected me.” He then stared at Mareek who questioned him about the Skarmory. Damn, already? I know Devin and probably Professor Redwood are going to ask a lot of questions but now students as well? Talking about leaving a mess… I guess they aren’t that professional after all.

“The Skarmory found me. I was knocked out for a little while and when I came by she was there. I didn’t catch her or anything but she just follows me around. If you want you can have her.”

The steel bird in question was still chatting with Faith when her attention was drawn by the Cubone. “Skaaar?” she tilted her head and studied this new face. It wasn’t her first time seeing this particular species but they were always shipped off immediately amongst other ground types. What was so special about them anyway? By what she could tell they got a new trainer named Mist while she had to wait for months.

[Commander]

"I'm just going to leave now," said Henry after hearing Jacob's comment moving away until he overheard Robert's conversation. "Wait a minute, someone used sing that also put people to sleep. What kind of idiot would think that's a good idea?" Henry was rather surprised by the bit of the story he heard and interrupted the conversation. Normally he didn't intervene, but he wanted to know who this was so he could avoid them.

[Tacos]

Ryan watched from distance as Claude, Jacob, Danielle, Slade, and even Henry were seeming to have a fun time, laughing, smiling, basically everything Ryan wasn't doing. He was happy for them. He even let out another paper smile that seared away within a few seconds. Then he knelt down and put his elbows on his right knee and his chin in his hands. It was evident he wasn't enjoying himself. When he heard Kage's name called for the battle, he was about to scream words of encouragement, but they were caught in his throat. He choked on his own words and a tear welled up in the corner of his eye. It's nice to see everyone having fun and all, but I wish it was worth it for me to have fun like that. I'm just going to die a far too early death by the cruel hands of fate. Having fun won't do me well because it's just going to be spoiled when something inevitably reminds me of Kage's vision. But why can't I speak now? I should be encouraging him. He should be enjoying himself even if I can't. Ryan opened his mouth to yell again, but this time, the words came out in a choke. I think I'll just talk with him after he wins. No point in drawing attention to myself or embarrassing him. Ryan sighed, his face slouching further into his hands.

[Bfroger6]

A bit dissapointing, to say the least. Shun climbed up on Shiro's back after the battle with a dissatisified look on her face. If these people are to be her opponents in the future, there was nothing to worry about. "Ri ~"

Shiro, on the other hand, was a bit down because of Robert's loss. He really thought he would have won the battle against Claude, even more so when he saw that Kiai was now a Lucario, which was truly amazing. "Robert, you okay? Claude was surprisingly tough... I never would have guessed you'd lose against him... Uhm, and congrats about Kiai!"
