True but if everyone claims a role and starts fighting over it and that role dies it's pretty obvious who the Mafia are. I don't think that tactic is allowed because if Mafia is smart they'll stop killing after everyone claims a role.

You know why the Mafia would hang back and keep a low profile?

It's kinda the whole point. You don't want to claim Mafia roles because that would immediately draw lynch votes your way. There's not really much of a way to play the Mafia out and proud.

(unless you're lying. For example, I could draw suspicion, based on Hukuna's claim, that -you- are a Mafia member because you are talking about inactives, which is undisputedly the "safe" vote)

If you were to ask me, I would strongly consider Snap and Sparky, but I believe Rose and I are telling the truth.

And as to what you suggest: who do you think are the ones we should go after? At this point the only lead I have is the one Hukuna left behind about Mafia hiding and keeping a low profile.

Or, y'know, killing off the people who clearly aren't even trying to help or who obviously aren't assets to the Town at all. You could kill me if you think I'm Shade, but that's not going to protect the Town any. Just saiyan.

I think there's one thing that makes who's Mafia quite obvious.

Apparently some players are new to this game. I assume that if you're Mafia and you want to win, you'd want to keep as low a profile as possible, only coming up to defend yourself or vote, if you're totally bad at lying. Once again I'm going to reference Sheep, who didn't claim being a Townie or Mafia either.

.. Though I guess the same could be if you're a Townie, so that the Mafia doesn't target you if you're onto them, but at the rate we're going, I think that the Mafia are the quiet ones who we haven't pointed fingers at previously. The people we've been suspecting and lynching (excluding Sheep) so far turned out to be Townies after all.

Alright. This discussion is confusing me so I'm willing to try out your tactic today and I won't vote for Jelly.

That's what I was doing by going after Jelly and Azery.

One last thing about claiming votes: people claiming to have a special role will be targets. No one is stupid enough to kill their own cover.

Exactly, and that makes the likes of Azery (who I know has watched a few server games of Mafia) a good suspect.

...I have a real hunch that the Mafia is smarter than that. If it -was- Azery, he would eventually turn up to defend his alibi. It's been stated that he only votes in retaliation to suspicion and is inactive when not. -INACTIVE- doesn't register as an active mafia member to me.I think we've gone too far to turn around and go back to lynching those that have kept their mouths completely shut.

I see your point. I only tried to say that by being inactive they aren't helping town either.

If it's going to be Snap or Sparky I'm tempted to vote on Snap. I know nothing about her. Sparky on the other hand was lynched for jumping the bandwagon and now people vote for him because he does the exact opposite...

-sigh-

Vote whichever way you want to Zephyr. I think the mafia is a bit more active than Azery has let on. Good suspect? Yes, but I'm not certain if that's what the Mafia wants us to think or not. If Jelly truly doesn't give a rip about this, He could have been telling the truth about being Elliot.

For the record, claiming a role is completely allowed, posting a PM I sent is not. It is up to the players to decide whether or not the claim is true.

How ever if a mass claim starts, I will be forced to shuffle remaining roles amongst living players and you don't want that.

http://wiki.mafiascum.net/index.php?title=Massclaim

So unless there is direct strategy in claiming a role, please do not do it.

Also I feel the need to post this again. It's partly my own fault, I should have just made the powerless 'Citizens of Reborn'

No, I was keeping a low profile, and then forgot about it for 2 days or so. You could've at least sent me a reminder PM. -_-

So here I am thinking about Shade while having dinner, yes this game is screwing with my head, and focusing on Sparky and Snap. Until I remembered a certain someone posting things like:

'Shade is imo the least of our worries' and 'If you think I'm Shade and lynch me, it won't help the town' while doing her very best to focus on Mafia for now. I don't mind he second part, but the first worries me as it would be an advantage for Shade. How I see this game is: Town is 6 vs 4 because Shade doesn't care.

So I ask thee Shade Zephyr; what do you have to say in your defense?

That's partly why the inactivity rule in effect. If someone is going to essentially not play the game at all. They are replaced or killed off. If someone decides to host another game and they find it unnecessary that's up to them. Currently there is one player who I'm about to make a replacement for, but you'll be next in line as a replacement after that should the need arise.

Ooohoho. Now that we know ExLink is usually an active, do we still suspect "Azery" or do we wait and see how this place out.

Yes, this game does make you think too much. As I said earlier, I don't -think- Rose is lying to me due to having a specific complaint about Aster's role, but shes more suspect than my own claim. (I know when I'm lying and telling the truth.)

And, I would like to see Zephyr be a little defensive too. Nobody has suspected her because she's "been active", but now that all of our inactives seem to be removed, everyone better be shouting at the top of their lungs.

Also, it's nice to know were starting to be somewhat agreeable, Chimchain.

It is 6 vs 4 as opposed to 7 vs 3, because if the Mafia is dispatched before Shade, then Shade wins. Shade pretty much -has- to support the town and -hope- the Mafia doesn't pick him/her off.
