Pokemon Dual-Types Unseen

Recommended Posts

We all know that Pokemon have unique type combinations. Some of them are really cool, while others are horrid. Yet type combinations act as a unique tool to allow for fun battles and a variety of strategies. However, not all possible combinations are avialable in the Pokemon World, or are exclusive to a legendary. Now I wonder what type combinations you would like to see in future generations or pokemon having rare type combinations.

Personally, I have wanted to see:

Dragon/Steel (Dialga is the only one...I want a regular one you can get in the game)

Poison/Steel (Beautiful combination, though a x4 weakness to ground.)

Ghost/Fighting

Dragon/Bug (Dragonfly, come on Nintendo)

Here's a few ideas from myself, Soldiers:

Dragon/ Electric

Grass/ Electric (This one right here I especially want to see in the future...)

Water/ Electric

Psychic/ Electric

Rock/ Electric

Electric/ Rock

Electric/ Dark

Electric/ Fighting (I need to have a few... words with GameFreak as to why the Electivire line didn't get this...)

Electric/ Fire (Ever heard of a Coal Power Plant?)

Noticing a theme here, cadets?

Ghost/Fighting would fit great for Bannette. Even some ROM hacks have changed its typing. Same goes for Electivire.

I'd personally like to see Normal Typing get a lot more love. You usually see just plain Normal or Normal/Flying. Looking at 6th gen it seems their starting to get the picture with Dual typing Normal Pokemon. Normal also isn't super effective against anything (which I never really understood why that is) and is completely walled by Ghost Type. That being said, I think I would like to see a Normal/Ghost typing more than anything.

Aside from that, do you think Gamefreak will actually implement Pokemon with 3 types in a future generation? I mean they already have triple battles, so why not triple typing. Maybe the math would be too complicated. Hmmm...

I think giving a garnavor (trash pokemon) a evolution with the metal coat could make it more popular,
I still want a dragon bug dragonfly
also want a few more poison/ other type pokemon

fire poison could be some kind of volcanic ash pokemon,

ice poison could be some kind of icy snake

also want a ice bug type, I know the typing would be horrible but it could be a badass

I would love a Ghost/Fighting type. Other types I would like to see would be:

Dragon/Steel (we need a non legendary Steel/Dragon)

Ice/Steel (I know, quad weakness, but I want one)

Dark/Electric (been wanting this for a while)

Electric/Fighting

Ice/Fairy

Ghost/Rock

Why is Luxray not Dark/Electric by the way? The way they describe his eyes etc.. ((like they can see through everything.))

Either way, I want to see some more Dark combos for certain

Dark/Bug ((which I thought Accelgor would be))

Dark/Fairy

Dark/Normal

Other types I want to see.

Steel/Ice

Steel/Fire

Fire/Ice

Fire/Grass ((totally a Pepper of some sort XD.))

Electric/Fighting

Electric/Ice

Electric/Psychic

Electric/Rock

Pretty much any type that hasn't been combined with Dark- I mean, how has there not been an Electric/Dark or a Bug/Dark yet? I know Fairy is new, but, still...

As others have said, Normal/Ghost has a lot of potential to be something interesting, too. I'd also like to see a Dragon/Fighting, despite that 4x Fairy weakness.

Ice is my favorite type: therefore we still need:

Normal / Ice (something like a Frost-Wolf!!!! we allready got dogs and hyenas...)

Ice / Fire (Frostburn... c'mon Game Freak!)

Ice / Fighting

Ice / Poison

Ice / Steel

Ice / Fairy

Ice / Bug

and most of all:

an early game Ice Type!!! (which would be really neat for that Normal / Ice ... yeah quad-weakness to fighting but whatever?)

What i would love to see is an Electric/Poison. With Levitate so its only weakness is Psychic. Maybe Rotom-Toilet with Sludge Bomb?

Some others i would like:

Bug/Ice (arctic version of Volcarona)

Bug/Dragon (mega Yanmega)

Fairy/Dark (some kind of witchcraft Pokemon)

Ground/Fighting (fossil)

Rock/Fighting (fossil)

Pure Flying (No Tornadus, go away)

Rock/Ghost

Alright, I've been having several thoughts for some time now.

1) Normal/Dark . Sure it has a 4x weakness to fighting, but offensively it can be a huge threat to even the best walls out there. It could be a gorilla.

2) Fire/Water . I know we got Volcanion, but I don't think of it as a legit mon yet. I was thinking of a dolphin or a narwal that sprouts fire and has fire-like marks on it's body, like Heatmor. Another thought would be an evolution of Octillery.

3) Fire/Grass . Who doesn't want an fire-breathing green & orange Echidna with a tail that resembles a young plant? That thing could be a wall or a sweeper.

4) Fire/Poison . Weezing's next evolution (with levitate or unaware) or a vicious red panda.

5) Electric/Fighting and Electric/Dark . Introducing two rival pokemon that represent Order and Chaos respectively. The fighting one would be a bulky humanoid and the dark one would resemble more of a beast like Nidoking, just thinner.

6) Ice/Fairy . A frost pixie that hates steel and technology.

7) Poison/Psychic . Everyone knows that psychic mons are the most intelligent. This one has two natures clashing with each other: high spirit and raw beastly power. Thus, it has elevated HP, Def, SpA but lack speed. To picture it, imagine a cute tarsier smiling, with upper fangs coming out of its mouth and three elongated claws in each arm.

8) Rock/Ghost . This one could be a legendary mon, bulky as no other. Ideas: A totem with spectre arms and tail or a gargoyle

What do you think?

Oh please, don't mention Electric/Dark in my presence. I am still mad that Luxrai didn't get that typing despite having the looks and the movepool.

Also, I want a Dragon/Fighting Pokemon. Fire/Fairy and Ghost/Fairy would be cool, the former could even be next gen's starter...

Bug/Dragon, Bug/Psychic, Bug/Dark, Bug/Ice and Bug/Fairy are the ones I expect the most on future gens. I don't really have a thing for bug types, but the idea of all these sounds awesome to me (shame that bug/dark and bug/psychic would both be weak against bug :/)

Steel/Poison would be fantastic (specially with levitate :P ) and even more if the mons with these types were radiation/nuclear based (sadly that this might never be true since japan's terrible nuclear trouble these past years). Electric/Ice, Electric/Fire and Electric/Psychic would be needed outside of rotom forms. As in, reeeeeallly outside of rotom forms. Still, a computer rotom with Electric/Psychic typing would be fine with me.

Grass/Dragon and Grass/Fire would be a fantasy of practically all fakemon makers come true. I always wanted serperior to be a grass/dragon and maractus to be grass/fire, but oh well... seventh gen don't fail me.

Ghost/Fighting, Ghost/Fairy, Ghost/Normal and Ghost/Psychic are my ghostly choices for the future. I don't care about ghost/rock for whatever reason, and more ghost/bugs aside from shedinja (and not so fragile) would be good as well. A shame, again, that ghost/psychic would be so weak against ghost and dark.

More ground combos that don't imply rock. I'm pretty tired of rock/ground and ground/rock. A ground/fighting or ground/fairy mon would be very interesting IMO. Also, if possible, a general boost to ice defensive properties (just if, y'know, resistant against ice, grass, ground and flying), and a steel/ice and electric/ice, that would be really good and really interesting.

I always wanted to see a Fighting/Dragon. Haxorus never lived up to that expectation, sadly... so let's see what time brings.

More dark/psychics would be very good. Also, poison/fairy, poison/psychic and fairy/dark are things that need to happen. NOW.

And please please please, among all above, a fighting/fairy.... it just....I-I.... I don't know why but I can only think of flamenco dance/music/ladies when I hear these two types together... it makes no sense I know but I ain't about sense here, I'm about awesome typings!

Ice, and Fire is definitely a type I would love to see.

Fire/Electric would be cool too, but that would leave it with a glaring weakness to ground.

Grass, and Fire would be an interesting type combo as well!

Thought up a few more:

Poison/Fairy (Something corrupted)

Dark/Fairy (Same thing)

Steel/Fighting (A knightly Pokemon, and all we have is Lucario)

Water/Fire (Should have an ability that boosts Scald)*

Normal/Psychic (Worked great for girafarig, need another one)

Normal/Steel (Sure, 4x weak to fighting, but so was Aggron. Just give it sturdy)

Grass/Fire (Something Halloweeny wouldbe amazing. Should be an alternate evolution of Pumpkaboo)*

*Should make these starter evolutions for gen 7, along with a Grass/Water type.

Fighting/Dragon - This pokemon would be an offensive threat that is checked by Fairies.

Fighting/Ghost - gains an immunity to normal type attacks (and a liability to fellow ghosts) and could be anything.

Electric/Grass (something other than a Rotom form) - Anything goes here.

Fire/Grass - just sounds super op, and I like it. Will have nice weakness to flying, but that would be it.

Poison/Fairy - nice and powerful sounding

More Steel/Grass - I would love to see some offensive pokemon here, as risky as running them would be.
