Chase
....I was bored, okay? Okay. So, if you have ever used Pokemon Online in your life, in the 'TeamBuilder' screen you have the ability to select a trainer sprite to identify with in your battles. ...so, what 5 trainer sprites (or Classes if you don't use PO, Showdown or whatever) would you identify with? (I'm aware that in Link Rooms you would use classes in older games) (Female) Backpacker - BW/BW2 - The Backpacker relates to a very personal part of my life. I've gone backpacking multiple times for group/church outings. The "thumbs up, walk away pose" was always super neat. I've yet to use this as a trainer sprite for me on PO, but I thought 5 was better than three for the sake of list purposes. (Female) Ace Trainer - BW/BW2 - The green hair, flashy orange and black tracksuit/miniskirt ensemble..was pretty funky. Like Halloween funky. One day, this might be a thing. For those of you that haven't played Gen 5, this sprite is the sprite Charlotte is based off here in Reborn. (Female) Cyclist - BW2 - The Cyclist trainer classes can be seen just outside of Reversal Mountain and Lentimas Town (and probably outside of Nimbasa City going East towards the Marvelous Bridge in the first game..)....on most days, I tend to dress very much like this cyclist. Athletic clothing. I also like visors. (Female) Team Rocket Grunt - HGSS - There isn't much to like about Grunt Girl. She looks more like a fanservicey .....meh at first, unless you consider Team Rocket to be somewhat cool - and in the games they are. The real reasoning behind my usage of Grunt Girl on PO though, is actually completely related to Reborn. My claim to fame in the game is being 'Meteor Grunt Hilda' - complete with a Crobat. (It's like Ame knows me-....never mind, I also have Probopass..) PKMN Trainer Hilda - BW -..........C'mon...you had to see this one coming. The first thing I felt when playing Pokemon: White was the sheer luxury of not even having to input my own name... This sprite felt like it was made JUST for me. Brunette. Ball-cap. Vest. Daisy Duk-...okay, maybe not the Daisy Dukes...but PRETTY DANG CLOSE. What about you guys? WHO ARE YOU? Tomas Elliot
Flannery's B2/W2 World Tour sprite and Falkner's GH/SS sprite have always been my main. Falkner because for a period I had a similar hairstyle (minus the colour of course), and Flannery becase she's hawt. Admittedly, my reasoning on this isn't even close to ours, but eh, I never put so much thought into this... I did create a Custom Trainer Sprites Folder back in my PO days as Tears of tomorrow tho. I remember it being a big hit on the beta.
Raindrop Valkyrie
I am not sure I can come up with 5, but Imma try Gentleman Soul Silver Version. I like to think of myself as a classy up standing guy. I believe in honor still, and being Gentlemanly is a part of that. This is just the sprite I like the best for the Gentleman not sure why 100%, it just feels the most Gentlemanly to me lol. Blaine Soul Silver Version. Blaine is one of my more favourite leaders. This version of his sprite just looks best to me, since it isn't the scientist part of him I ever really cared about. Blaine is just an interesting tenacious guy. He doesn't even let his gym being flatted by a volcanic eruption stop him. Nope, he just moved to the Seafoam Islands and set up shop again. Veteran Female, Black and White. Yes, there is a female sprite on my list. I just have a soft spot for strong lady characters, they are just ones that resonate with me for some reason. ((hell that is why Lal Mirch is my current avator, and one of my favourite characters of all time.)), This sprite just embodies that for me, cause she is ready to whoop some ass while being classy all the while. Plasma Grunt, Black and White. Yes they looked silly in the first games....no I don't care. I loved the Knight themed outfits. Then again....if I was ever in charge of an evil corporation....you can bet my people would have super silly uniforms. Gambler, Gen 4. Sometimes, I just need a little extra luck ya know? ((in english versions they are called P.I.s by the way, but we know what they really are.))

GotWala
Pokémon Trainer Hilbert- Hilbert here looks EXACTLY like I did when I was a teenager (except I have grey/blue eyes, haha) and is still my favorite main character sprite. Pokémon Black and White is also about the conflict between truth and ideals and since I also happened to own the copy where I was on the side of ideals, it continued to resonate with me. (Male) Backpacker- I'd be hard pressed to count the total number of times I've walked and walked... And walked, haha. The callous on my feet and the wear on my shoes isn't just for show! I've made it a habit to walk to almost everywhere I go, especially now that I've been paying for gas, haha! If my parents told me they couldn't drive me somewhere or wouldn't, I'd just put on my shoes and go. Hell, I even plan to have a walking tour of every state in America once I'm done in the service, however silly of a goal that is, haha. Janitor- I have a thing about "honest work for honest pay" in life. I also like to be someone who helps out without being seen, kind of like a man behind the scenes type of thing. That, and I hope to be as free-spirited and jolly as the sprite looks when I reach his age, haha! Rich Boy- Well, I can't say that my family has ever looked wealthy from an outside view, but I can assure you that we are. My father and step mother in particular are quite financially well off but only spend whenever it's truly necessary. This meant that when they did spend, it was always big. Thus, me and my siblings lived life in moderate luxury. Personally, I prefer simple living, even if it means staying on the Ramen diet, haha. Still, I can't deny this part of me that was relatively pampered. (Male) Skier- Winter is my favorite time of the year! The chilly air with the snow and ice all around always gives me this sense of clarity and reflection. The cold only serves as a reminder that I'm alive and everything feels more brisk and refreshing when it's done in another cold, winter night. I've done a bit of skiing too, and that sense of refreshing briskness is even more apparent at a fast pace! And that mountain air... Ahhh... Haha. Veterans Azeria Posted October 25, 2014 Veterans Share Posted October 25, 2014 BW2 Drayden: I've always wanted a manly beard, and this guy got it in Spades. It also helps that he is a DRAGON MASTER and wrestles with his Haxorus.......this guy is a BOSS Barry:I like to dance like a lunatic XD,also he's a lot like me IRL...very headstrong and hasty. Morty:Being the first gym leader of my favorite type,i have to give this guy props...he's been a real challenge with that powerfull gengar willing to KO anything with its Shadow Ball. Also Scarf Hugh:ITS TIME TO UNLEASH MY RAGE....i needed anger management as a child and i think this guy needs it a lot. Swimmer(All Gens) Little known fact about me is that i have an inner love for swimming.I've been swimming since 5 and have been amazing constantly using it to get fit.Its awesome, also this guy uses Gyarados.....i love Gyarados
Sheep
B2W2 Female Clerk 'cause reasons... DPPt Bug Catcher 'cause I like the bug type. HGSS Ethan 'cause I played a lot of gen 2 back in the day. Gen 2 was my gen. DPPt Ruin Maniac 'cause Straya. BW Hilbert 'cause he looks half like me when I was younger.
Omega_Ra1der
(don't use po,showdown or whatever) I might pick hilbert (main in bw) ALMOST resembles me when I am outside in a fall day. That all I have to say.
Cowtao
Hiker Sprite - I always liked the Hiker because most of them are badass travelers that venture out into the whole region looking for things. That is something I highly associate with and have been rocking for a main avatar for awhile now. Gentleman - Mostly used on Showdown. Used as a sort of, time for a good game and let's make this round quick kinda sprite. I usually don't use him a lot. Hugh - I personally thought at the time he was just an ace trainer. >>; I liked his stance but I have since retired this sprite because I went for a more peaceful or symbolical sprite instead. Chase
I really liked that about BOTH BW protagonists...(the apparent ability to relate with them that is.) My reasoning behind the appearance of Hilbert/Hilda is quite simply that Unova is the first (Game Freak Title, before anyone brings up Orre...) region to represent an "American" environment. As such, the protagonists and other trainer classes there look more "Basic" to us. Hugh (Azery, Jericho) is my favorite rival of them all. Often misunderstood by the community as someone who has a forced storyline and is only written to appear like a rage monster, Hugh is the first rival to not make it a clear goal to be stronger than you. If you're a "Genwunner" or the like, you don't appreciate it much at all, and if you like the "friendly competition" based rivals of Gen 3, 4, the original Black and White, and 6, then you don't understand the reasoning behind Hugh's angst. Instead, your rival actually is given his own story arc that extenuates beyond trying to get to the pokemon league before you do, or trying to understand what real "strength" is. He and Silver fall under the category of "vengeful" rivals, while Hugh's reasoning makes it seem like he's after "real" redemption. Yes, he also has the silly catchphrase and I'm a sucker for those, but the touching moment when Hugh finally tracks down that Purrloin aboard the Plasma Frigate, only to find that it's forgotten it's past and has evolved into a Liepard. ...OH...So Good... They have "snow classes" in DPPt?....neat..... The next three classes I would use are as follows: (Female) Veteran - BW/BW2 - This trainer's MO is -all- about life experience and developing a real "lifetime" bond with your partners. My favorite "Veteran" actually comes from Kalos, and her dialogue is surreal. She talks about her lover leaving her behind and how much despair life can bring, as well as how it can mold you into a tougher trainer. If you're not prepared for her Tyrantrum (for some...reason) it can really cause problems. The female veterans actually starkly contrast to their male counterparts. While the men cheery and typically happy with their partners and lives, the females are rather down in the dumps, or more determined. Like Hukuna said above, the Veteran doesn't play games. The other thing that makes this woman a winner in my book is that she, like I, is an Adult. These people are "veterans" at not only pokemon, but at Life. Gym Leader Sabrina - HGSS - Gameverse Sabrina is a little more ....human.... than her anime counterpart. Her poses are full of attitude and she even has relevance outside of her gym. She features as a movie star in Gen 5 as well. I don't actually see myself -using- this sprite per se, but I've always thought the Saffron City gym leader was pretty neat. (Female) Ace Trainer - DPPt - The trainer class Florinia is based off of. ...Nothing else to be said here. Trainer classes I would -NEVER- use are as follows. Sinnoh Champion Cynthia - DPPt/BW/BW2 - I don't connect with Cynthia very much. I have yet to figure out her true strength (and I really need to get on that) and I only know about her from reading up. She -is- a pretty neat archeologist type figure, and that's something I have looked into myself during my college career, and she's probably easily one of the most fearsome women in the Pokemon franchise in terms of appearance. She exudes power. I...I don't exude it, I have to demonstrate it first. PKMN Trainer Red - HGSS - ... I'm not going to sound like a hipster here. Red is an amazing example however, of someone who receives just a little too much hype for what he offers to the table in terms of storyline. In Generation II, it -was- extremely neat to get to actually battle the protagonist that made you fall in love with the franchise. The battle itself was tough in terms of having to really grind to be able to even compete with Red on top of Mt.Silver but.. I'm always a bit of a renegade when it comes to the argument of "who is the toughest dex holder of them all" There's always the fact that as a kid, I -BEAT- Red. If I'm going with personal canon, that would make Gold/Ethan/Kris the toughest trainer up to that point. In the Pokemon World Tournement, I beat Red...in a tour set up with all of the toughest trainers in the land, which would make ROSA the toughest trainer of them all. Too many holes to make Red seem like a viable sprite to me. (I'm also not much of a Genwunner, too.) Either protagonist from Sinnoh -- Lucas is the default sprite on PO in general. Default is boring.....and I don't really care for Dawn much either. Most of this however is due to not playing the game.
Deleted User
I also kind of like Morty to use sometimes come to think of it. Ecruteak was probably my favorite city in gen 2.
Raindrop Valkyrie
I personally don't use the Player Avies in Battle Sims, because everyone used them in the games. They feel more ambiguous to me because of that so I don't like using them if I don't have to. I am weird when it comes to that stuff. Though I have to say I usually play as a girl in pokemon games, I just like their designs better most of the time. Not that the guy designs are bad....they just don't appeal to me very much. Probably cause they have a thing for wearing super ugly hats lol.
GotWala
Yeah, I wouldn't be caught dead wearing the BW2 male protagonists visor with that poofy, brown hair, haha! I'd like to say I'd also relate to the Male Veterans, but I don't feel like I'm worthy of the mantle of adulthood just yet, haha. (The XY Veteran design is my favorite by far amongst them)
Veterans Azeria Posted October 25, 2014 Veterans Share Posted October 25, 2014 Classes i would classify as round 2 Veterans BW:He has a cool hat and a cloak, also the lady has Black glasses....your argument has been invalidized Hiker:Another little known fact is about me is that i love camping and being around heavily forested and mountainous areas and the fact that this old guy exudes that makes me happy. Cynthia:I've always admired mythology and dragons so Cynthia combines both for me with her almighty Garchomp and archaeologic knowledge and she DOMINATED EVERYTHING POKEMON for the gen 4 time period..what a beast she was...she also looks awesome(what you can't say someone looks good now?) Lost Lore
So many people want to unleash their rage I can only ever recall having used two: BW/2 Psychic: Because I'm quite fond of Psychic-types, and there's not really a trainer class that specializes in Dark-types. (Unless you want to count Team Plasma. I'd be game for using the female grunt's sprite there, actually...) BW/2 Pokemon Ranger: Because I really like this sprite in particular. Especially her hat. And because, despite not being that sort of Ranger, this is a sort of connection to the Ranger games, which I am all too happy to see any reference at all to. Ilu Vega- this is part of why I torture myself with you You could say there's also the whole nature aspect as well, since exploring is one of my favourite pastimes. So perhaps more accurate. I only really use female sprites because... well, I'm a girl. Although if there were a male sprite in particular I really liked, I probably wouldn't have many qualms with using it.
