Problems with DS3 tool

I'm going to ask this here because I'm sure there's some gamer who can help me. I've got the DS3 tool and Motioninjoy on my computer, but for some reason, it isn't working. As soon as I try to open the DS3 tool to activate my PS3 controller, I get a window message saying DS3 tool has stopped working, Windows is checking for a solution to the problem. Anyone know how I can fix this? Thanks in advance.

Hello! If Ds3 tool isn't working, you can try a program called JoyToKey. That's the program I use to use my controller to play. Basically it maps keys to buttons on your controller.

What do I do if the controls are different for different games? Like, Skullgirls has a completely different control scheme on the keyboard than say, TF2. Can I set it to use the specified controls for a certain game?

There's also a program called "Better DS3" if none of those are working. It uses the drivers from Motionjoy's DS3 Tool, but it's simplified overall, and a lot more reliable (And it works offline). Unless it's a driver that's causing the issue, that should work. Though this can all be completely disregarded if SuperJan's answer works for you.
