Raviel the Phantom
I'm near a point where I can get either of the Steel-Types I've been considering. The trouble is, I am not sure which one is the right pick for the team. These options, of course, are Steelix and Aggron. To give you guys perspective, this is my team/desired team: Charizard -Special Attacker Gothitelle -Special Attacker Luxray -Physical Attacker -Kingdra (Hopeful) Special Attacker Also if there are any future steel types you might think would be a better fit my team, let me know. Also my Pokemon are balanced to take and receive hits, so a wall or sweeper works for me. Deleted User
I'd have to go with Steelix, too many 4x weaknesses for Aggron IMO.
Simon
Excacdrill, Escavlier, and Lucario (if you went to a older episode) could be some pretty nice physical attacking options.
Etesian
Aggron, with a set of Metal Burst, Heavy Slam, Head Smash, Stealth Rock/Superpower/Body Slam. Make it Sturdy so that, even in a Ground/Fighting gym, Metal Burst lets it take out at least one foe. Although I'd say there's far better. Durant, Escavalier, Excadrill, Magnezone, Empoleon, Metagross and Bronzong would all be better than those two. Durant essentially has 190 Base Attack due to Hustle, Excadrill is at it's best if you have someone set Sandstorm, Empoleon is usually great especially if bred in E12 but you'd already have a Water type so that's a no, Bronzong takes advantage of the fun fact that Trick Room does not affect the power of Gyro Ball. Escavalier, Magnezone and Metagross are pretty obvious.
Kelazi5
I have a mawile and it acts as a good hard hitter and a moderate wall. It may not have the best stats but it has a lot of type defenses and a decently wide moveset. Mine has Play Rough, Crunch, and Iron Head, all solid 80-90s, and False swipe for pokemon catching. I can also learn Iron Defense, stockpile, and baton pass for the defensive/strategic moves. Get it trained and it could be really good for later gyms, he was really good in the Psychic, dark gyms. As for Aggron and Steelix. Aggron has better attack and you don't need to worry about fire types like you do with steelix. However it does have those 4x ground and fighting and it's moveset is pretty shallow in Reborn, unless you want to go back to episode 12 and breed it. Steelix has a lot of type resistance, akin to Mawile's and it has a good broad moveset type-wise. It's attack isn't as good as aggron's and it has four types to worry about but with sturdy I'd say Steelix is the better bet.
