Pokemon trading between saves

I've seen this post for a long time and i was wondering if anyone else can do trades via save editing. DBan hasn't come online for a long time and i'm sure a lot of people want do some trades as well...

Calling it a trade is a joke. All he was doing was hacking your save file and creating the pokemon for you, and no I don't know how to do that.

For the record, I do want to add a legitimate trade system to the game, but I have a lot on my plate and likely won't be able to implement something like that any time soon.

Many people, myself included, are able to do something like that for you with existing saves, but I personally tend to frown on it due to trading (especially early) removing a lot of the difficulty of the game by enforced limited variety in available Pokemon.

Hmm, I suggest making trade access available only after a certain point later in the game. It'd be easy enough to implement code wise if you can get the trading system to work, which would be the difficult part. Do you have a general idea of how to implement the trading system Dan?

I think a trade unlock following the reaching of a certain town that was once off limits would work, as long as the coding obeyed, of course. But say, once the player can access Agate City or so, they are able to trade with others, that way, you definitely would have some strong Pokemon by then anyway.
