[IC] Brailens Gifted: The First Gift: Premier

Richard wasted no time as soon as The Headmaster finished his explanation. While he didn't expect an upstanding individual like this "Lieutenant Timms" to listen to the paranoia of a dog, it was his duty to report any disturbances to Trevalus; whether the actual crimes have transpired or not. He immediately got in The Scales' line, steadying himself for a discussion with a superior. There's no reason to bother with the other parties. I already serve The Scales, The Swords are short-sighted hotheads, and The Shields... Richard started to feel physically ill at the sheer thought of The Gifted united under one banner. What bothered Richard the most about this situation was the presence of those sigils. I figured they would have some fail safe against eavesdropping, but now I truly have no way of knowing what corrupt ideals The Shields are spreading. It was then that Richard formulated an idea for how he would acquire the information he needs about the other two parties. While the beasts might have a hard time hearing with their swelled, arrogant skulls, I am more than certain that the proper authority will get them to talk. All in due time though. Richard considered his options as he moved forward in line.

Jackson really wasn't sure he was excited to join a political party. Politics are kind of shameful. Simple excuses to sling hatred from one person to another over beliefs that barely even belong in politics. He began pulling his glove off and on again, enjoying the feeling of the warm leather sliding on top of his skin. When it was removed, the air on top of his hand quivered, signaling a disturbance in gravity and others forces directly above it. Jackson lowered his head, and saw a small pebble, alone in the area, completely out of place. The quivering air begin to spread, wavering towards the pebble in a thin, swerving line. As it reached the pebble, the disturbance's shape took that of a small hand, and lifted the pebble. Jackson began closing his hand, making the pebble return to it. He examined it. Sedimentary, under enough pressure it would break into smaller pebbles. Maybe I should test it. Jackson launched it using the disturbance emanating from his hand, into the large crowd with the senile man screaming around at everyone. Jackson slipped back on his gloves, the disturbance disappearing under them. He strode off towards the crowd, wondering if anyone had taken his small bullet.

Snap and Bagel

Seth eventually cam to the frot of the cue, and at the nod of Nigel, was brought into the space. Nigel looked the man up and down, clearly judging the man, and nodded, a satisfied little grin on his face. "Hello there my friend. Is there anything I can do for you this fine day? Would you like to ask some questions, or perhaps interview for a chance to take part in the Shields affairs?"

Kyrie was just a few people away from the front of the line, and could see, but not hear, Seth and Nigel speak..

Gotwala and Commander

Emelia quickly got the affirmative to enter the space at the nod of Lieutenant Timms. Timms remained as impassive as ever, looking directly into Emelias eyes, what he could see of them. "State your business." He ordered, expecting an immediate response.

Richard was still in line, getting a fair few strange looks from those around him. People could tell he wasn't happy...

Stratos

After a long wait, Lucille came to the front of the line. After dealing with a mass of overly affectionate men, when Elizabeth saw another women, she was at least interested just for the chance for a variation on conversation. She nodded to Lucille to enter and when she did so spoke. "Hello there, I am Elizabeth, here to answer any questions you may have" Her words had an oily, seductive quality to them. The voice of someone well versed in the art of wordsmithing.

The Crowd outside.

"Yer all Foo-" The man was interrupted, as he had taken a small stone down the gullet. He looked to be quite old, in his sixties and wearing a battered old suit of steelwood armour. He wass now in a choking fit on the floor. The crowd immediately laughed. "Who shut the old fool up? Speak up and you get a free drink from me!" A young woman yelled through the laughing.

At least Lieutenant Timms appears to be straight and to the point, thought Richard as he considered scratching his beard before stopping such unprofessional behavior. He needed to appear solid and unrelenting if he was to be taken seriously, after all. Richard eventually came out of his own thoughts long enough to realize that he was attracting stares from the others around him. At this realization, Richard immediately adjusted his stance and posture in order to appear as professional and in control as he possibly could. If they must stare, let it be at a servant of justice. Let their eyes fall upon the only Gifted that will protect Trevalus from his cursed kin. To lack conviction and presence is irresponsible of a protector of the innocent. I cannot falter.

Jackson stood, in awe of what he had just done. I don't want to end up killing someone already. That would be just awful. "It was me, I'll accept your offer after I make sure he doesn't die." Jackson threw himself over the choking man, pressing his hands onto the man's chest, attempting to bring the stone out of his wind pipe. When nothing was working, Jackson had nothing to do but use his "gift." Jackson inconspicuously lifted his glove up a little bit, the disturbance sliding out like a bear from hibernation. He forced the disturbance to make its way down the poor man's throat and retrieve the rock, bringing it back up. Jackson quickly gave one more push to the man's chest as he forced the rock up and out at a believable speed, so no one would see what he had truly done. He quickly forced his glove back onto his hand and fell backwards onto his hands. "You ok, sir?"

Desmond laughs along with the crowd as he saw what happen to the old man, you had to admit it was kinda funny. but seeing the man is hurt, Desmond couldn't help to see the old man choke. as he was the caring type, your typical boys scout you might say.he makes his way through the crowd and approach the senile old man. "ok ok thats enough entertainment for one day" he said with his strong jamaican accent to the people nearby, although it seems to be ignored and drowned by crowds laughter.

he discretely uses his gift, as he produce a vine under his sleeve and smack the man's back hoping the stone come out of the old man's mouth. "you alright old man?" he said as he aided loud mouth grampa. he wryly looks at the man standing right next to him, seemingly the one who is resposible for this incident.

The Crowd

"Aye, bloody 'ell, what did you do, felt like a bee had shot down me throat!" The Old man griped. The part of the crowd that had been laughing now let out a chorus of groans that could match any class that had just had their fun cut. The young woman from before stepped out. She looked to be in her twenties and had short blonde hair with brown eyes. She was wearing the simple fare of cloth skirts and such that would normally be seen of a regular working girl, but the muscle she bore and the way she held herself told otherwise. "Now, see, when you save the old cunt you lose the privilege to that drink I offered." The young woman sighed before walking over and kicking the yold man down, to several jeers from her friends.

"stop that!" Desmond yelled as a flock of pink cherry blossoms started flowing out of his sleeves and soon forms a storm of petals started to cover the field. creating a wall of leaves and protects the old man for any more attacks. "whats your problem you cutthroat bitch!?" he said out of anger as the hurriacane of blossoms continues to swirl around them.

Seth thought over his response until the silence became uncomfortable. "Let me get straight to the point, I know the shields are supposed to be the voice of the gifted. I want to know what you're planning and whether or not I can help but I will warn you know, my gift will never be used to kill. I'm better than the people who discriminate against us and I hope you are too." Seth allowed the silence to resume.

"Well that could explain Leon's madness..." Lucille thought upon hearing the seductive manner of the women's voice. Obviously the woman had a silver tongue... And Leon had never had that strong of a will around women who didn't know how to manipulate men as easily as one might bend a blade of grass. Oh how so, so easily Elizabeth here could've won him over. But no, Lucille wasn't here to accuse or to speculate, she was here to scout, and scout she would... though there was no way in hell she'd let this woman charm her like she probably had to most of the men who had been in line before her.

"Thank you, Elizabeth," she began, able to see the representative through the sight of the mouse still hidden in her cloak. "I'm honestly here more out of curiosity than anything else. I've heard a lot about the Swords party from different people, but everything they say is always so conflicting, they want this, or, no, they want that... I was wondering if you could give me the truth of things." she feigned perfect innocence with her voice, as if she had laid out her motives bare on her very sleeves, being sure to keep weary of the woman all the while...

The lieutenants straightforward response caused Emelia to completely forget about lowering her voice. "I'm here for one simple reason: I am a swordsman with no work. I was wondering if you knew anything about recruiting. A movement like this is almost never a peaceful one." She looked at the man's sturdy pose. If he could fight with a sword, there was a good chance she'd be outmatch then and there.

Nigel smirked. "Oh my, how very blunt of you" Nigel droppd a smirk, his mirthful eye s now brimming with anger. "Now, listen here you absent minded fool, the Shields are a party of their own. We fight for the consolidation of the city and improving it for all it's children. This includes the Gifted, thus the support from them. However, we are by no means the "Voice" of the Gifted, else you would have seen Gifted members a long time ago. Also, If you sign on with us, then there won't be any grand schemes afoot, and I do hope you know this, but Killing is Illegal you know. I suggest you put a leash on that imagination of yours. Now, are we done here, or are you mellow enough to still want to sign up despite my minor tongue lashing? I spy a lovely lady in the line, and I wouldn't want to keep her waiting..." Nigel flashed a grin at Kyrie after he spoke.

Commander

Timms appreciated the straightforward nature of the question, even if he distrusted the mask they wore. The Lieutenant picked up a note with a scrawl of handwriting on it from a pile and handed it to Emelia. "That's a pass to be trialed and let into either the Police force or the Internal Combat Force, or ICF. Gifted aren't allowed in the front lines against the savages." He informed Emelia. "Now, are we done? Looks like an officer wants a word with me for some reason, and I'd like to be done with it quickly."

Stratos

An enchanting grin preceded Elizabeths words. "Ah, yes, there are ever so many cunning rumours spread about the city, I would be glad to correct any misconceptions you may have. Our, the Swords, goal, is to use the almighty power of Trevalus to reach out into the lands that was once ours, now infested with terrible savages, and use that land to bring even more prosper to our fair city. We wish to work with the people to grow and increase our standing in the world, to that of what we had before Man fell." The explanation was ended with another lovely grin, almost punctuating the speech she had used to manipulate countless morons.

The Crowd

The womans features twisted into a scowl as she glared at Desmond. She clicked her fingers and a faintly purple gas spouted from her palm, corroding the petals. "Mind your own damn business you fool, this fuck was screaming and shouting about how buggered we all were. None of us want to hear that, especially from an old cunt who's well off on his damn military pension. Now, fuck off before I melt off your damn clothes."

"That definitely explains it then," Lucille concluded after Elizabeth delivered her little speech. "It's the exact same dribble he's been spouting on and on about for so long. The prospect of potential gains for us and probably the snake charming of women like her were enough to throw Leon into a fanatical frenzy...well, I might as well get to the heart of the matter."

"I see, thank you," she said. "But I'm also here for another reason. Recently someone...close to me, became a very...vocal advocate for this party, and there's one thing he's been talking about more and more often, something that's made me very worried over time..." she stepped back a little, acting as if she were a bit self conscious, toning her voice to match. "Please, forgive me for asking such a silly question, It's senseless, I'm sure, given that...well, given that your here right now. But... does the Sword party happen to advocate anything regarding...regarding the extermination of all gifted?" She gave a few moments of pause and silence for effect, then quickly sputtered in apology. "I'm sorry, forget I asked... Like I said, it was a stupid question." With that she turned and began walking away, careful to be mindful of her pace, keeping in mind how far it was between her and the boundaries of the ward... "Five, four, three, two..."

Seth was slightly taken aback by how ruthlessly Nigel punished him on his ignorance. "Well it seems you do have better things to do than talk to me, With this new movement I highly doubt something isn't being planned withing your party and I'm sure things will surely be completely non-violent with the gifted being part of your enemy groups but I digress, have fun with your lovely lady. She will probably have more interest in this mistake than I." As Seth exited he truly realized how out of place he was here. Politics with these people were not the definition of a fun time.

Elizabeth never batted an eye. She knew full well what her compatriots thought of the Gifted and she was selected due to her persuasie prowess and capability to hold her tongue. Such questions were not unexpected. "Why, if such lies were true, would I be here, extending a welcome on behalf of the Swords to you all?"

Bagel and Snap

With a smirk replaced on his face, Nigel called out to Seth as he left "Fare thee well, feel free to join the Swords, having such a fool on their side will be a great boon to us". After a few more people asking mindless questions, Nigel called in Kyrie. "Hello madame. Feel free to ask any question you wish. I am here to help" He claimed, and innocent smile now perched on his face.

As Seth exited, he was caught by Darren and Sabrina, who were still deciding upon what to do. "Excuse me" Darren began. "You don't look too happy with what happened between you and that man. Might I ask what happened?" Darren was slightly concerned if the Shields rep was pissing off anyone he so chose...

"Precisely what I thought about it," Lucille lied, stopping and turning back slowly. "Just a silly theory from people a little paranoid, right?" she let the question hang there, trying to think of her next move here... She done what she'd come for, find out what they wanted, see if they were really the one's spreading the Hatred against Gifted. She felt the woman's complete denial of it to be a lie, having the evidence from her brother himself; he didn't just start spontaneously hating Gifted overnight, in fact, before...this whole mess, he had never had any hatred for them at all... it was only after the all his Swords talk began. But again, she wasn't here to accuse. Contesting Elizabeth's answer wouldn't do anything to help.

But still... she was honestly at a loss of what to do. She could leave, end it right now... but what if there was more this woman was willing to tell her? And on another hand, what if it was just more propaganda?

Reyn was stunned during this whole situation, seeing an old man being beat up by a group of people was despicable. Thought there really wasn't much he could do, he couldn't take on a group of that size by his own and by the way this is going it seems it won't end well. 'I guess it's time to stop this before it gets out of hand.' Reyn thought to himself. He approached the circle of people with his Gift on so they didn't know where he came from and entered the middle of the circle from the opposite side turning off his gift once in the ring. "Ok now lets not get too hasty," Reyn said hands in his pockets, "I heard all the party leaders and some Gifted are right in that building over there." He motioned his head towards the school, "It'd be a shame if someone were to hear a fight out here and maybe a couple of bodys. So how about I'll take these two off your hands and not gain any unwanted attention, hmm?" He said standing a fair way away from the girl.

Seth eyed the man who had stopped him. "Don't worry about the shields, although I am not very impressed with Nigel it was my fault if anything." Seth glanced back at the shield line with distaste. "I'm not in the know with all these damn politics and said some stupid things, he in return made me feel like a complete idiot. I do admit it bothered me to an extent how unprofessional he was and I can't say i'm not a little pissed off." Seth examined how the man seemed fairly well off. "I'm sure you'll be fine whatever person you decide to talk with, you probably wont make such a stupid assumption like me."

Desmond was quite surprise as another man steps into the scene. he just came outta nowhere in a blink of an eye, maybe that's his gift. but Desmond has bigger concern at this time as he turns his attention to the girl.

"really? that's your reason in attacking this old man, just because his beliefs are different than yours?its kinda shallow don't you think? Its a damn shame you use your gift in harming people." Desmond sighed as the once soothing aroma of petals around them soon turns into smell of burning leaves and turns into ashes."I'll make like a tree and leave and forget this whole thing happen if you promise to let this man be. No body deserves this kind of treatment just because he speaks his mind. what do you say C.B.?((cutthroat bitch))" Desmond said to the woman like the pacifist that he is.

"Understood, sir. I have no more questions. I don't want to hold you up any longer than needed., responded Emelia calmly. She examined the paper while leaving the line. While it was hidden, she was a bit overjoyed by the lieutenants response. She looked around noticing many different people standing in the three different lines. She turned around to get a glimpse of this officer before continuing on her way. I'm not sure what'll happen to me as I'm not like these other gifted who went to school to master these gifts. Maybe I won't ever even need this accursed power.

She looked over at the Sword's and Shield's representatives. She didn't look too deep for she cared little about what they were planning, but she felt an odd vibe from either of them. She ignored it and continued on her way.

Cogs turned in Elizabeths mind. She was unsure to let the woman go or to try and draw her in. She was intelligent, but her superior seemed to want grunts more than anything. On the other hand, if she brought in this woman and she proved to be an asset, even if only temporarily,

"Well, whilst you are here, would you like to at least apply to the Swords party? If you wish, you can always turn it down, but wouldn't a stable job be a nice option?" She tried, compromising in her attempt to draw Lucille in.

Commander & Gotwala

((Feel free to head towards the barracks in the military quarter, interfere with the crowd, or just call it for this day.))

Lieutenant Timms nodded and called in the next people. After a while, he called in Richard, resigned to the common official drawl that he expected.

The Crowd

"BELIEFS?! What the ever loving fuck are you talking about, this bastard was bloody fear-mongering! There was children around here, listening to this shits horror stories! What the fuck are you on about, Beliefs?!" She then turned to the other bystanders. "You all going to stand for these guys scring children, eh? Or are you just as bad as them?!" She called out, rallying the crowd. The old man croaked out a few words. "It's true, ya damn fools..."

Bagel

Darren smiled at Seths remark. "Believe me, I don't know anything about the political world. I only just got out of here last year, and I've been too busy trying to get a foothold in the world to take much notice of politics myself."

While the line moved forward, Richard scouted the are once more in an attempt to discover anything of note, though he came up empty handed. However, as he shifted his gaze about, he found himself having eye contact with a pair of green eyes belonging to a raven-haired, young man. As the man left, Richard barely caught a glimpse of the paper he was holding. I see... So that young man has been given an invitation. They seemed determined enough and strong at that. No doubt they will serve The Scales well. Richard mused to himself more about the hopeful increase of numbers for The Scales, supposing that they'll need all the help they can get when The Shields eventually make their move... This was cut short when Lieutenant Timms called for the next person in line, who just so happened to be Richard himself. Lieutenant Timms needs to understand how imperative this is. He simply has to. I cannot falter.

Richard tensed his frame and, yet once more, perfected his posture as he marched up to Lieutenant Timms. Upon reaching the proper spot, Richard immediately snapped his heels together as his right hand came to hip level and his fist closed as far as it could. His left arm flew upward as his hand flattened, straightening his elbow at a forty-five degree angle while placing the side of his flat hand about half an inch away from his eyebrow. With this, Richard had come to the most proper salute he could muster as he faced Lieutenant Timms with determination and obedience. "Officer Richard Gallus requesting permission to speak freely in your presence, sir!", barked Richard as he awaited Lieutenant Timms' response.

Jackson stood motionless as the boy with a seemingly agricultural gift approached the situation with nearly as much hostility as the woman. "Look, I didn't want to start any trouble. I don't appreciate this guy, but that doesn't mean I'm gonna watch a man die right in front of me. You're just as despicable to think that harming someone else is going to solve anything. Simply despicable." He turned to the other boy. "And as for you, you have no right to be controlling me sir. I won't be 'taken off of somebody's hand.' I'll leave on my own accord thank you." With that, Jackson stomped out of the crowd.

Desmond was stunned silence as the woman talks the mans identity.the justice system in this place is really mess up, so its ok to see a man kick to death infront of the children just because he's spitting some venom?...man thats just fuck up, maybe Desmond's morality clouds his judgement as choose to protect the old man earlier.

"Im not siding with any one" Desmond finally spoke up. "I maybe a fool, but i cannot tolerate violence when i see one. you're no different than him. go ahead kill him, and let these people see who the real fear monger is." Desmond steps back as the other man left. definitely this feud is over as he watch what the woman will do to the senile grampa.

"Well, I think we're done here," he said picking the old man from the ground, "Come on, lets go and if you really want to, I'll listen to your story." He said trying to convince the man to leave. He really didn't care what the group thought of him and honestly he just wanted this whole this to end. "So if you mind letting us through, we'll be out of your way." He said looking towards the crowd.
